DiGi Prepaid is sorely lacking in good data options for light users.
Not everyone want to use postpaid or can afford a high-end smartphone.
This week I'm using Weekly 250MB @ RM15/week.
After 4 days of what for me is quite heavy usage (check email, lowyat, read news, browse some other sites, use mostsms, etc), my data usage less than 40MB total, so 1 day is use less than 10MB), and the whole week may add up to 70MB which is less than a third of the quota.
I'm using UC browser which I think is pretty efficient on reducing data consumptions.
I'm way below quota and therefore feel the price DiGi is charging is not value-for-money.
Hotlink has 7 mobile internet options, with various quota and duration (and unlike DiGi, only the monthly ones auto-renew)
Umobile has their monthly 500MB for RM28, which works out less than half what I'm paying and interestingly also half the quota under DiGi's Weekly 250MB.
For me, Umobile has hit the relevance button with their prepaid package. I am very loyal to DiGi having been their prepaid customer for 12 years. However, I will not wait forever for DiGi to come out with relevant data offering for prepaid users.
As I see it, there are 3 possibilities:
1. introduce more choices like Hotlink already have
2. modify the PAYU cap to have a staged pricing (example, RM1 for up to 10MB, RM2 for up to 25MB, and etc)
3. offer rebates/rewards for light users that do not exceed the quotas.

QUOTE(fruitie @ Dec 2 2011, 11:46 AM) I'm using Maxis 3G Internet Unlimited for my broadband, totally contented with the service. I'm using DiGi Prepaid Internet Unlimited for my laptop at home every day since June. It is not super fast, but it is stable and dependable And it costs RM1/day. It is a good deal All I want is a similar prepaid deal from DiGi on my hp, instead of having to pay RM2 or RM3 per day (which is too expensive for continuous use).

QUOTE(fruitie @ Dec 2 2011, 11:46 AM) I'm changing myself soon, not sure when is the right time yet... It was a joke, about changing your friends. If you are disatisfied with DiGi you should go, talk with your feet. If more people did that, instead of complaining yet staying till the cows come home, then DiGi would get the message to buck up. It is over-loyalty and resistance to change that is maintaining the status quo in terms of DiGi's service quality. However, there are signs that, with the number of DiGi users defecting to Um, DiGi will wake up finally and start doing something. This post has been edited by dgboy: Dec 2 2011, 12:09 PM

dear Fruitie
I think misunderstanding. What I mean is if you complain and not satisfied with the answer, then it is really time to move.
It's like resigning a job. You just have to make up your mind and then do it.

QUOTE(fruitie @ Dec 2 2011, 12:04 PM) When I said unlimited means unlimited. There is no quota at all, a discontinued plan from Maxis. if you have plan like that, you should keep it for sure my monthly usage at home is always within 3G quota on my DiGi plan not a problem for me however, telco should use the word Unlimited cautiously these days in view of Trade Descriptions Act 2011 now in force DiGi using Techno-Savvy for describe DiGi Easy plan - I have no idea why, since the data options are exactly the same as for Best plan these days - another failure by DiGi, they should offer a good data plan to Easy users only This post has been edited by dgboy: Dec 2 2011, 02:07 PM

QUOTE(Darkmage12 @ Dec 2 2011, 02:08 PM) In short Umobile is becoming the next DiGi? quite a few here in LYN have remarked that Um is like the old DiGi i agree my expectation is that Um and DiGi will do share swap or something not yet, maybe a year from now they should cooperate on 4G at least

'No access to network'
DIGI are getting crappy nowadays. I have RM30 credit at the moment. Is there a way to spend it other than calling and texting? If can finish RM30 within an hour would be great.
Gonna ditch this number. you can send some of the credit to another DiGi Prepaid user (except on Easy plan) by using TalkTime Trasnfer though you won't be able to reduce it to zero that way, as there is a minimum balance requirement

yes DiGi provide microsim however for such a short period of time, i don't think it's worth the troubles of signing up for postpaid why not consider prepaid? if you only want data service, DiGi have a prepaid data only sim simpack costs RM25 and you can get microsim one too details available hereThis post has been edited by dgboy: Dec 10 2011, 10:18 PM
