RM 30k per week.
Each cardholder per NRIC is capped at RM 50 per week.

It's on FCFS basis.

Hi, would like to ask , if we fully earn the max cash back and we continue swipe the card for the CB eligible categories , will we still get points ?

Example : PBB VS max cash back RM38
already fully earn Cash back max 38, then i continue swipe for Online purchase, will i still get points ?

It's mentioned something in the notes there.

Valid for selected Principal Credit Card /-i Cardmember only

BTW was thinking is it possible if I pay PTPTN with other bank card and BT over PBB?
Thinking to utilize the 20% discount full repayment.

Is it possible to increase my PB VS's credit limit by transferring some limit from my PB QMC card?

As an example: increase PB VS's credit limit (initially at X) to (X+2K) while at the same time reducing my PB QMC's credit limit (initially at Y) to (Y-2K)

Thanks for any replies

In my case, the credit limit is combined. So, it doesn't work for me.
If yours are separate credit limit, then you can try to request.

Because of scared of losing out, everybody is ambushing to get it done right after midnight.
Do note that it's getting very competitive, by 0930, the pool is expected to be exhausted.

'everybody'.

But pool only finishes by 9.30.

bangwall.gif level of kiasuness assumes that everyone else just as kiasu.

Based on posting here maybe got a dozen people or so kiasu to do 12+ am. Counting other silent readers (let's say 5x as many, even 10x as many) that's 120 people, max.

30000/50 is 600.

I believe the cutoff time will never go before 7am, because would need 600 principle card holders to be that kiasu.

I guess "reload" Peak Time would be
1. 12:00AM to 1:00AM
2. 07:00AM to 8:00AM

I'm guessing the "actual" peak time is right after 12am and closer to 8am.

*
Are you using PIB VS or PIB QMC issued by PUBLIC ISLAMIC BANK BERHAD? (None of us could get PIB VS/QMC)

If both of your VS and QMC are issued by PUBLIC BANK BERHAD, then you get a COMBINED limit from PBB. You are confused as the CL for VS and QMC are different. Check your CCRIS or CC statement, it will tell that you get a combined CL.

Assume your QMC - CL RM20,000, and VS - CL RM30,000
Your combined CL is RM30k, you can use QMC+VS max RM30k (Not RM50k) but QMC max RM20k (Then VS up to RM10k only).
You can request to revise your QMC's CL from RM20k to RM30k, and your combined CL is still at RM30k and your VS's CL is still at RM30k.
You cannot increase your combined CL and your VS's CL to RM32k if you reduce your CL for QMC to RM18k.

For my case, once key'ed in TAC means successful, don't care what page is loaded after that (the top-up amount will added on after 1-5 minute).
I have been doing that since week 5 or so, no issue.

I got confused by the way the CL shown in Pbe. I thought it’s separate CL.

Was planning to increase little bit of PB VS’s CL to apply BT for PTPTN settlement. With current CL, BT’s amount would be around 85% CL sad.gif sad.gif . I guess it can’t be done then.

overall cl is combined.

however, different/lower card have its own sub-CL too, which is why it seems "separate" CL to you if the amount looks different.

Yes but I also think that it is to get them to spend throughout the week. If most of the cc users know that the cash back will deplete on Monday, there will not be anymore spending for the rest of the week. So for this point alone the campaign isn't a success as their aim is to promote spending throughout the week on different retailers.

You think they didn't notice and having this campaign paying out 30k every week to users who reloading BP but at the end more than 1000 users reloading BP with RM480 X 1000 + another 10000 users on others expenses, that's a sales value of 5.28mil per week. even if they charge 1% on each merchant they also earn more than 50k per week. so you think who is the winner?

You think they didn't notice and having this campaign paying out 30k every week to users who reloading BP but at the end more than 1000 users reloading BP with RM480 X 1000 + another 10000 users on others expenses, that's a sales value of 5.28mil per week. even if they charge 1% on each merchant they also earn more than 50k per week. so you think who is the winner?
*
They could have earned a lot more if the cash back pool doesn't deplete so quickly and people keep spending throughout the week, hoping to get a share of the cash back pool. That scenario that you have just mentioned isn't the best case scenario.

Without the Bigpay, I could do shopping on Monday evening using 2nd and 3rd principal card account, Most of the transactions not on 5%-6% CB categories.

There's a long feedback loop for that though. The perception of 'got chance' which prompts people to spend will last until the customer realises that actually no chance. Some would blur blur just never realise. Those who do realise will either give up or search around and find the methods we've been using here.

In the end only PBB will know whether there's a drop in spending after BigPay reload became widespread. If there is a significant drop in customer spend then likely to modify T&C.

Those should be considered as Retail. Departmental category should refer to those large stores like Aeon, Parkson, Isetan etc.

there specific mcc for these outlets, more like clothing/fashion/sports apparel categories.

QV only accepts Departmental, which is GMS (general merchandise store) which provides variety of products like fashion, household items, electrical appliances, etc.

MCC 5621 - Women's Ready To Wear Stores:

MCC 5631 - Women’s Accessory and Specialty Shops:

MCC 5651 - Family Clothing Stores:

MCC 5661 - Shoe Stores:

MCC 5691 - Men’s and Women’s Clothing Stores:

MCC 5699 - Miscellaneous Apparel and Accessory Shops:

There was 1 Chinese medicine megashop that was classified as Dept store in PJ but it has moved.

there is no one best card out there. that's why u see banks have so many credit cards selections. what is useful to you, may not be to others - and vice versa.

If I apply BT at PBB. Mean PBB will help me pay my MBB credit card let say 3k.

After that I need to pay 3k devide 12months to PBB every month?

Will it affect my PBB credit limit?

Yes - 3k divide 12 each month. The "money" is taken from your PBB credit card. Total cedit limit remains the same, but available limit will reduce by 3k.

flex payment, call for cash, bt etc all the same concept.
you will pay the one time fee for this case is RM0 then every month pay the total/tenure month.
let's say your credit limit is RM10k, it will become RM7k and next month will become RM7250.

If I am not wrong, early settlement charge RM100 apply.
Don't assume you can simply cancel a CC and transfer the outstanding balance to another PB CC, and without charge, not always like Maybank CCs!

smart people won't cancel the card just to transfer the installment to another bank, just BT from another bank and keep the money in the credit card and slowly pay off month over month till the end of the tenure without paying the RM100, just need to pay the SST lo, unless the tenure is more than 4 years

RM3k @ 12 months BT -> savings/earning less than RM50, but early settlement penalty is RM100. Worth it?
Not like those BT >RM10k (including you) gain a lot in the first few months enough to contra the potential loss, so they don't really feel hurt if exit.

Today, I found a very weird issue, I have not manage to pay fully for a month but the interest charges of 15% shock me as roughly I am outstanding around RM500 but the interest is RM90++. This is the response that I have from them:

We would like to inform that your payment for October 2018 statement's outstanding balance was not in full resulted all new transactions to be calculated for finance charge starting from the posting date of the transaction.

This basically means on 5 Nov, I settle partial of my outstanding to min payment to outstanding balance RM500 bringing forward for next statement, to my shock my new spending for the next billing of RM9K with the balance of RM500 is charge together with the 15% interest.

I am just curious is this the way interest been charge actually.

Yes, I just regret why I did not pay fully for the mere outstanding of RM500 as I thought the RM500 will be charge 15% interest only but not the new spending for the month.

This is something new which basically means to me if ever there is outstanding for me, I will not spend anymore new transaction if I have not pay in full for previous month.

The financial charge is mainly due to the new transactions, not only the underpaid amount. You pay a few sen less you will kena as well, not like the previous scheme (before 2007).

4th

posting on 3rd still counted for current cycle's cb.

if u know the merchant's posting is T+1, you can swipe on the 3rd and it'll be counted for next cycle instead.

you cant link to your pbe. the supp cardholder need to have his/her own PBe to view the supp card (imo, it's better. just open BSA, without fee, and put min rm20 holding balance).

iirc, someone somehow can link supp card (separate statement) to his/her own pbe, not sure how this is done, but so far with my few supp cards, not able to do so.

it doesn't matter 3rd or 4th or even 2nd if the transaction is not posted in your previous month statement, they will calculate whatever posted in your current month statement.

Talking about supplementary cards (separate statement), assuming if I don't want to register any PBe account for them, I can still put my email address so that I can receive the monthly statement right? I plan to get a supplementary card for my mum and haven't found time to do it. I will do it during my 3 weeks plus break next month.

QUOTE(tan_aniki @ Nov 28 2018, 09:52 AM)
it doesn't matter 3rd or 4th or even 2nd if the transaction is not posted in your previous month statement, they will calculate whatever posted in your current month statement.
*
I understand about this.

i was just about to ask the same thing.
i accidentally pay less rm10 last statement n shocking to see got financial charge rm1.85 for a mere rm10.
is other bank basically the same?
*
About the same for other banks. Actually the interest is charged for all transactions in that billing cycle. Means no interest free period from statement date till due date for all transactions once payment is not in full.

I kena once...

Do you know what is 5G? smile.gif
The 5G you were referring to it is from your router - 5GHz not 5G from Maxis which Malaysia still doesn't have. smile.gif

That said I have no issue using any connection with BP.

If the app triggers OTP like BP, you'll get CB under online.
Otherwise, you won't get CB if no OTP like Boost.

Its MCC code is 5172 Petroleum and Petroleum Products

Anyway, a few members here reported missing cashback for swipes that took place at 12am++ so 1am or 2am would be the better time... at he cost of your sleep. :sweat;

Different spending requirements, different CB amount, different quota.
Eg the first game of 2018 (2XRM100/500), only 5% (extra) CB, I was not really interested to play every week.

but now not entitle to get 5% ma, then you ma use PBB to BP to get 5% then use shopback to get 6% which in turn 0.95 X 0.94 = 0.893 = 10.7% CB
btw 10% + 5% is not equal to 15%, is 0.9 X 0.95 = 0.855 = 14.5%

Government service is under exclusion list if you did read the TnC.
If can get, I have done since day 1 of the campaign.

By the way, are you referring to FPX from PTPTN website?
Or Jompay from PBe?

I try searching but not able to get a clear answer.
For PBB VS, cash back is based on calendar date (just like MBB) or statement cycle (just like citibank)?
Yet to complete any cycle yet so I would like to I know my statement date. Activated on 20 Nov.

Statement cycle. For your statement date, you'll probably have to call Customer Service. Doesn't matter when you activate the card.

Public bank CB statement is tons better than MBB. You can see each itemized CB transaction wheres MBB only the total per month.

PS. Btw anyone can confirm if Quantum MC still gives CB for Ptptn portal?

erm i think Maybank calculate CB based on each transaction while Public Bank calculate by total.
eg. RM30.5 + RM30.5 Maybank gives u RM1.52 + RM1.52 = RM3.04 while Public Bank gives you RM3.05

where do you see the "itemized cb transaction"?

pbb also calculated cb per transaction level; which is why you can get lower spending amount to max out the cb.

e.g. rm38 cb max for VS, spending can be as low as RM632.49 assuming all targeted for SN4M. if you lumpsum 6% x RM632.49, you only get RM37.95 cb.

i prefer PBB's cb rounding (normal 2 decimal rounding up), rather than mbb's 2 decimal truncate.

I just realised I spent less RM 17 to earn full cash back RM 38 for my VS. My statement cycle will due today, anything that I can pay and will be posted today? Online transactions only. Urgent and appreciate your advice.

I realised BP is T+1 so will be too late for me. I can't believe I made this blunder. doh.gif

Hi, has anybody missed payment due date for 2-3 days before? Just wondering if there's an unofficial "grace period" after due date, before late payment fee will be charged by PB?

For those who have supplementary card(s), is the credit limit the maximum chargeable limit on the card? My supp card's transactions kept being denied by PB at around 60-70% utilisation of the card's prescribed credit limit.

PS. Btw anyone can confirm if Quantum MC still gives CB for Ptptn portal?
*
where to see the itemized CB transaction?

Hi, has anybody missed payment due date for 2-3 days before? Just wondering if there's an unofficial "grace period" after due date, before late payment fee will be charged by PB?

For those who have supplementary card(s), is the credit limit the maximum chargeable limit on the card? My supp card's transactions kept being denied by PB at around 60-70% utilisation of the card's prescribed credit limit.

+2 days is ok. havent/dont dare to try 3 days.

T&C stated clearly how many days are given to you before they charged you any interest/fees, if PB willing to waive it then it's on their goodwill. No such thing as unofficial grace period.

No problem with my supp. card at all. Your supp. card has a separate credit limit? Do you wave / used pin? PB has a limit on wave, for every 5 waves the next one has to used pin before you can wave again.

Every bank I've ever had a card with has an unofficial grace period within which you do not get charged interest, even though it's pass the 20 days or whatever that they give you.

This is to allow for delays such as IBG, processing problems, etc.

Not something you can regularly rely on, but whenever I've been late by a day or two I have not been charged. More than that then need to beg/plead with CS.

I missed one day before. But that was one-off due to I was away on biz trip and forgotten to make payment. If it's one off and u're charged all those penalty late payment thingy, u can actually request for waiver. I managed to get waiver for cimb after being late for a whole 15 days.

Thank you all for your feedback on the last payment charges. I've just spoken to CS that 3 days after due date is still alright with no late payment charges; my case is just 3 days past due. That said, it's highly recommended for everyone to remember to pay before due date to avoid the charges, hassle, worry etc smile.gif

On supp card credit limit utilisation, all those transactions were online ones. I just checked that the transactions began to be declined right after the separate credit limit has been fully utilised, so nothing unusual here.

Outstanding is high (RM 50k) and don't want to burden myself now to pay off everything. I'm paying every month 2x more than required monthly installment. Already considered good enough compared to those never pay before. tongue.gif

Well the monthly deduction will be 1x only, so if you're already paying more.... still can manual pay (just don't gain AS much la).

I read that premium payment via PruAccess is entitled for 5% cash back, but does anybody know if I still eligible for the 5% cash back if I enroll for auto debit using the same card?

Or else I have to manually do payment every month..

fruitie sis's genuine concern is that she will lose out on the potential online cashback on the 1x monthly deduction for PTPTN. She still gains online cashback on the additional 1x monthly instalment paid manually.

It is understandable, really. The mandatory monthly deduction is an effective way to force PTPTN defaulters, to pay the monthly loan instalments.

However, the mandatory monthly deduction unfairly penalizes the diligent people who promptly pay the monthly instalment, manually with credit card to gain online cashback, such as fruitie sis and other well-informed posters in this subforum.

I wonder whether PTPTN will allow borrowers to opt out of mandatory monthly deduction, provided that consistent loan repayments are shown for the last 12 months. hmm.gif

I guess that there is no such thing, such as a perfect system.

I searched for this news to read again last night, it's between 2%-15%, I don't know how's it determined. Currently my monthly repayment is around 3% of my income and even the amount may be insignificant every month, I still prefer to pay with CC rather than cash. tongue.gif However, like LostAndFound said probably still can earn cash back, not that much only lo. laugh.gif

Anyhow, still not much details yet. Later check with my payroll team if they know anything about this.

Just think if you have two card:

1 Master with like 40k LIMIT

1 VS with like 30k LIMIT,

Does this mean each card have their own limit that I can balance transfer out 80% from master and vs from the total limit of 70k or this is actually sharing limit of the highest 40k?

Both VS and QM are principal, same I/C -> 1x RM50 only (combined with your sub)
If VS is principal, QM is supplementary under another person -> 1X RM50 for you, 1X RM50 for your partner.

Ask your partner to be a principal card holder and sub a CC to you.

Any combination of PBB Principal CCs (same person) and supplementary CCs (different persons).
The rebate will go to one of the principal card.

maybe you can find solution to re-schedule PTPTN rather than pay massively 15% of your salary?

Lucky I decided not to experiment this. I've read in some threads that PayOnline use Telco MCC. Thought can lepas with TNB. But statement is very clear showing Tenaga Nasional Berhad instead of PayOnline - TNB.

Hello,

What's the best card/most popular cash back card from PB?

I spend quite a lot per month, around RM2k to 3k for grocery and online shopping etc

My monthly income is 5 figures since year 2008, so i think it shouldn't be an issue.

I don't want huge credit, max 30k good enough for me. Thanks

I understand for PBB Quantum Mastercard we can use BigPay as it's considered online spending... but Quantum Visa also can meh?

If I overshoot my credit limit, will there be any charges?

eg: Credit limit for both quantum cards = RM 5,000
This credit statement spent = RM 5,500

Will they have any fees or charges?
I will be paying in full on each statement.

You don't have to wait for statement.
Anytime you can pay in advance to avoid overshoot.

for those NOT getting full RM50 cb for SN4M, do share your 3rd and 5th transaction time.

for those gotten full RM50 cb, only 8th transaction time is required.

Hi guys, a friend of mine had just activated PBB Quantum 2 cards via phone call. She has a PBe account linking her saving/current account. However, it seems like there is no option to link the credit cards to her PBe?

Under "PB Card", there's only 3 options: PB Card Summary / Cancel Card / Create Card PIN. All of them showing error.

yes, by the supp cardholders to open the account/PBe, not you open more accounts under your NRIC.

btw, 10 supp cards, not possible. max is 9.

Card is good depending on individual's needs.

Suggest you post the question on https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/4161836 by following the template in post #2 and detailing out your requirement and/or expectation.

Done something like that before, and the branch calls the hotline to ask. You can save yourself a trip. Just do everything over the phone or goto the nearest card branch, not bank branch.

going to branch wont help i think since the card processing is not at their side. I guess most efficient way is to call the CS and ask for status. If its more than 2 weeks, i think the CS will check for you otherwise they will told u processing time is 2 weeks bla bla bla

Not sure about your case. My case was straightforward. A few cards like Visa Signature were not part of the promo. And I must apply 1 Visa + 1 Master. Send SMS, then spend accumulative 150 minimum on each card within 30 days. I avoided Visa Signature since I was unsure if "each card" means the more I apply, the more 150 I have to spend. After getting the 288 shoppee voucher only I applied for the VS.

Problem topping up with BP…
After 2 transactions submitting the OTP, both showing BP website in the apps…
After that I pay the next 6 transactions with digi.
In the middle of doing the digi transactions, the BP apps successfully showing the notification of top up successfully after more than 10min of topping time…
Last transaction made on digi at UK time 10.22pm, 9/12/18.
Good night guys, hope you all can top up smoothly later.

JUst want to reconfirm, what are the necessary setting for your Digi mobile in order to topup BP in UK?
I intend to use my prepaid Digi in OZ(just to receive OTP without incurring cost) on dual SIM with Digi and Optus(Oz voice&data) and what I was informed is:
Set roaming ON.
Set data roaming OFF.
Set voicemail OFF.
Set Digi data plan > data usage OFF.

i'm using three network here to do the top up and using u mobile to receive the OTP while my digi i150 stay at home for the home cctv etc.
if you are just using to receive the OTP and your digi is prepaid, i think nothing need to be done on your side as the internet is very easily to get in UK.
if you are using xiaomi phone(i'm not sure with others but all should be using the same concept), there is a place to set which sim card you intended to use as internet, no need to set anything else after that.

Consider Digi Roam Pass, RM25 for 72 hours incl. 2GB data and 30 min call (roaming). It may be cheaper than getting a local SIM.

https://hello1010.my/country/europe-23/united-kingdom.html

i'm using the 30 days one with 2nd sim at RM130 and total 6% off.
this sim is still cheaper than digi roaming pass if stay more than 18 days.

I see. If I top up BigPay RM 150 x2 (RM 150 - Quantum Mastercard, RM 150 Quantum Visa), should meet spending criteria too right? Just wanna be safe, so check beforehand  biggrin.gif

Not sure. Others who tried it before can share.

I normally avoid such transactions. Bank has the final say to allow/reject. I even avoided TNB and phone bills. $300 in 60 days isn't a lot.

6. Eligible Cardmembers must apply for both PB/PIB Visa and Mastercard Credit Card (this clause is not applicable for PB Visa Signature Credit Card / PB-Petron Visa Gold Credit Card / PB-AIA Visa Gold Credit Card / Mutual Gold-PB Visa Platinum Credit Card).

I finally found the part why they said Visa Signature is not part of the campaign. Still, the clause above is unclear to me. Could also mean don't need to apply 2 cards if choose the 3 cards above.

Consider Digi Roam Pass, RM25 for 72 hours incl. 2GB data and 30 min call (roaming). It may be cheaper than getting a local SIM.

i'm using the 30 days one with 2nd sim at RM130 and total 6% off.
this sim is still cheaper than digi roaming pass if stay more than 18 days.

I bought Optus SIM online only Aud10 for 28 days expiry, 10GB data and unlimited Oz calls n SMS. Sent to sis place n activated from Malaysia.

The clause above should be referring to if you apply VS, you don't need to apply both master & visa card.

Set Digi data plan > data usage OFF.

sweat.gif You have asked few times right? Yes, you will receive SMS so long your roaming is activated.

Hi, just curious, since UK is 8hr behind MY, so when u did that 10:22pm 9-Dec trans, u should still receive otp with timestamp of 6:22am 10-Dec and not the UK timestamp, correct?

If he wait until 12am UK time, habuk pun tarak loh. i.e. weekly allocation finish.

They say it follows the payment gateway's local time, not user's local time.

Nope. But the lore says that if you spend sufficient amount (4k for Quantum, 8k for Signature) per annum, you can get the bank to sponsor your service tax.

i think 1 year i spend more than 4k for quantum (master but not visa).
so means most probably will only get 1 waiver ? thinking of call to CS later

Yes that is correct. And do call them. No harm asking for the Visa. If they feel generous, you save another $25.

yup, it's depends on bank local time, not users local time.
when i key in the otp it shown 10/12/18, not 9/12/18.
