Honda Malaysia recalls 2014 City and 2015 Jazz over CVT control software issue – 12,329 units affected
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «
Honda Malaysia has announced a recall for 12,232 units of its fourth-generation City (2014 model year) and 97 units of its third-generation Jazz (2015 model year) over an issue with improper hydraulic pressure control software involving the vehicles’ continuously variable transmission (CVT).
The company says that in a situation where there is a quick stepping on and releasing of the accelerator pedal at high speed, high hydraulic pressure will cause high stress to be generated to the drive pulley shaft and may cause the shaft to be broken, resulting in the vehicle experiencing a loss of power during driving.
The exercise seeks to rectify the powertrain control module (PCM) in affected cars through a CVT software update, which contains a stress reduction software. As of today, there have been no crashes or injuries related to this issue reported in Malaysia.
Honda Malaysia says it is taking this preemptive measure to ensure customer safety and regrets the inconvenience caused to all affected customers. The company adds that aside from the specified total of vehicles, other fourth-gen City and third-generation Jazz are not affected, and neither are other current selling models
All affected customers will be informed via notification letters, which will include details of the product update. Customers who receive the letter are advised to send their vehicles to the nearest authorised Honda dealer for inspection. Any charges related to the product update will be borne by Honda Malaysia.

Back in October, Honda Malaysia announced that it would be increasing the pricing of its products by 2% to 3% starting from January 2016, the hike attributed to the ringgit’s slump this year. The company said then that it would be monitoring the exchange rate closely and decide on the price in December.
With 2016 a few days away, the first of the increases has come about – pricing for the Honda City model range has been revised, as revealed by a new price list for the car sent in by reader Mohd Faiz. The increase, which comes into effect on January 1, covers all four variants in the lineup, and are as follows:
Honda City Grade S – RM76,100 (post-GST, RM74,008) Honda City Grade S+ – RM79,300 (post-GST, RM77,124) Honda City Grade E – RM84,600 (post-GST, RM82,270) Honda City Grade V – RM92,000 (post-GST, RM89,468)
In more direct fashion, this works out to an increase of RM2,092 for the Grade S, RM2,176 for the Grade S+, RM2,330 for the Grade E and RM2,532 for the Grade V.
The fifth-gen City was introduced in Malaysia in March 2014, and all four current model grades were available at point of launch. All variants are powered by a 1.5 litre SOHC i-VTEC engine offering 120 PS at 6,600 rpm and 145 Nm at 4,600 rpm, and the mill is paired with a CVT gearbox.

The New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asian Countries (ASEAN NCAP) today released the latest round of test results at the ASEAN NCAP Grand Prix Awards in Kuching, Sarawak – four models make up the set for Q3 2014 testing, which is part of the agency’s move towards a more frequent “test-and-publish” programme following the conclusion of its three-phase pilot project.
The four vehicles that underwent the latest round of crash test evaluation are the 2014 Honda City and 2014 Honda Jazz, the Tata Vista and the upcoming Perodua Axia. The result summary for the vehicles in both Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and Child Occupant Protection (COP) is as follows:
Perodua Axia 1000-E built 2014, MY2014 – Adult: 4 stars, Child: 4 stars Honda City SV built 2014, MY2014 – Adult: 5 stars (4 stars, two airbags), Child: 4 stars Honda Jazz SV, built 2014, MY2014 – Adult: 5 stars (4 stars, two airbags), Child: 4 stars Tata Vista GZX 1.4L built 2014, MY2014 – Adult: 3 stars, Child: 3 stars The Tata Vista, which scored 9.24 points out of a possible 16 in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), is produced in India and is only available in Indonesia and Myanmar. The agency says that this is the first time a car of Indian manufacturing origin has undergone ASEAN NCAP assessment.
Both Honda City and Jazz models that were tested were Thai-built models for the Thailand market, with the six airbags variant scoring five stars, and the two airbag version obtaining four stars. In the AOP rating, the Honda City broke the record score in ASEAN NCAP testing by managing 15.80 points, surpassing the previous high of 15.73 points obtained by the Ford Fiesta. The Jazz scored 15.58 points.
The Perodua Axia, meanwhile, has the honour of being the first vehicle in the evaluation programme to be launched into the market with ASEAN NCAP results, and is set to be the most affordable 4-star car (in both AOP and COP) in the ASEAN region, according to the agency. It managed an AOP score of 12.91.

I was also thinking that instead of the Vspec ori wire harness->speaker->tweeter arrangement, the routing with the potong tweeters is wire harness->tweeter->speaker. Will wait for somebody share how they do it for Espec or Hybrid then.
Arrival of McIntosh Tweeter today. Took 1 day from seller place to store, and took another 4 days to reach door step. Bought 2 pairs, 1 for myself and another 1 for my friend who drive City-X limited edition
DIY again, not really difficult as open door panel few times before. Everything is pnp as the tweeter comes with harness ready. Not expert in acoustic, but i did noticed the difference with and without tweeter
Nice one. This should be here but can't quote with picture. LOL.

Here you go
Remove original grey socket from speaker, plug in the white socket from tweeter
Connect the black socket from tweeter to the grey socket from speaker.
Finally, place the tweeter in the correct position.

Ic ic. I'll try it tomorrow morning. The socket is exposed or got a panel need to open?
It's exposed. You just need to peed under the steering wheel (left side) with half of your body outside the car. Once you know where it is, you can raba raba with your left hand when you want to plug/unplug the OBD device. Do take note that the fitting is one way, i.e., it only connects in one orientation.
I noticed that the sound now become more clear after installing the tweeter
So are you gonna install the rear doors tweeter as well? I think its just for those sitting at the back, so if ur the driver it doesn't have any difference.

Noted. Finally found the socket after needing to take a shot with my phone. Didn't realize it was actually facing the driver's front instead of the side. Thanks for your hints and tips.

ya, most of the time just me alone inside the car, so doesnt matter not to install for rear
Submit loan for City E last friday. I have no credit history and no guarantor lols...hope the bank will approve
This is Malaysia, if no credit history is harder to get approval than someone who have on-going loan or have loan before.
I can say that because I have a few friends having trouble when want to buy first car or even applying new credit card.
But my car loan approve last month (not for Honda City) even I have a bad credit record before with the same bank and also consider as 'high risk' customer. The only additional term I have to follow is need to use direct debit.

More features more potential problem haha and im still young to drive big size SUV. Not suitable image. Proton interest higher, questionable resale value and 17-18inch tyre will cost a bomb. And not really keen on turbo engine, need special care and money, like my family exora bold

Thanks for the link. No mirror auto fold than should be OK for me to replace current ODB lock. I have installed a separate autofold when lock the car. For me, D lock is must have, P unlock I don't see any issue as I only change gear to P when reach destination/home.
Mirror auto fold is another with wiring... What is your model? Doesn't have auto fold mirror?
Today finally find the courage & time to try out my MacGyver solution... Actually I bought this recently to replace 1 of my door guard tape
TLDR, I placed 2 layers(top & bottom) around the screw hole. Punctured a hole using the screw, lock it then screw back in. Hope it'll last lol

Looks good but I do wonder how long the thin double sided tape will last with all the vibration when moving and the bumper natural flex outwards. Perhaps you can use 3M (grey colour) double sided tape if you go this route?

Actually the tape is thick if you see the real thing (1mm) so I got roughly 2mm there. Anyhow will have to see how well it holds, will be going to Genting these few days. Wet + bumpy.

Until now I haven’t buy yet becoz I don like the function when push to P gear Auto Unlock.
I too prefer to have it unlock when engine off, instead of P. Sometimes we don't exit immediately upon putting to P.

If im not mistaken, it is settable. you can just turn off the Auto unlock for P gear.
Mine can choose to lock at D, or 10-15km/h speed. Both, however, unlock at P.
QUOTE(sonicmaster @ Sep 23 2018, 09:29 AM)
So far I cant find too.. those can turn off such as double signal
Mine can set whether you want hazard lights when: 1. You forget to disengage handbrake when driving off. Useless feature as hazard lights do nothing but cause unnecessary alarm to car behind yours 2. When engaging reverse gear. I turn this off as when I adjust my car when parallel parking, other drivers tend to think I'm leaving the lot.

Most road bullies drive Wira and Myvi. Unless your big SUV is a luxury brand, you cannot escape from them.
Last night helped my friend who drive City-X limited edition to install tweeter on front door. His door panel damn firm, very hard to remove, no wonder no any rattling noise near door. Even after install pasang balik also still firm.

well.. push to P and auto unlock, what if afterward push to D again, will it auto lock again?

My FL door panel moves when I pull the door grab (the one we grab to close the door when we are in the car). Heck, just about everything moves - roof liner, dashboard, and even body panels.
well.. push to P and auto unlock, what if afterward push to D again, will it auto lock again?
Yes, lock again.
I sent my son to school and wife to work everyday, when reach their place, they will unlock the door manually, so 2 situation here: 1) I put gear to N if stop longer than 1 minutes, so when door close, put gear to D lock the door. 2) Gear still at D, when door closed, immediately lock again.
When stop longer, put gear to P, just lock again manually. If I need to go out from the car for awhile, anyone in the car will lock the car manually.
i dont have this problem, but mine one not firm as my friend city x... mine can easily pull out but my friend one need give some force then only can pull out
Can we lock the car doors without arming alarms? Going away for few days, don't want the alarm to drain battery. Or just don't worry about it, 5 days should be fine?

If only for 5 days it won't kill the battery. I have been on a 8 days trip and mine starts just like normal. Of course mine is just 1 years old that time (early this year).
Anyways if City doesn't have a hood sensor, you could try to pop the hood up, then lock the car, and disconnect the battery before closing the hood again. Make sure you don't fully close it, or you will have no way to open it back again to reconnect the battery.
I see some city have this problem, even my car, just take out and put back, make sure that area go in first. that happen when the rubber tension is not apply evenly in all area.

Need to do this step. 1. With you outside, and the driver door open, press the inner button for locking the car door. Remember not the outside button at your door handle. 2. Immediately pull the handle of the outside door and while the handle is pulled, close the door. That's it.
If your door gets unlocked due to taking too long to reach for the handle outside, just repeat.

3 weeks still OK. Yes, my friend left his car for 3 weeks, still can start.
based on your suggestion, why not just fully close the hood, the hood use cable to release it.

If you slam the hood down, you will lock the hood which requires it to be unlocked via the hood release handle inside the car. If the car is fully locked, how are you gonna open the hood? Just drop hood down while you hold open the front hood lever so that the latch just catches the hood when its down, you will see the hood slight raised up.

The car is already in locked mode. Yes, using the emergency key will open the driver door, but how will this affect the alarm system when you turn it back on, I don't know.
And no, it shouldn't need any glue. The rubber should be able to grip the edged fully. I suspect my rubber is too short hence it pulls it out.

Well, I myself haven't tried this on my City yet so I don't know. Since City comes with keyless system and smart entry, I'm not sure what will using a physical key entering a disabled car will do, and I never recommend something I've never do before. If what you said can be done, then its definitely much easier.

Some mentioned that preFL Vspec HU is 1280x720, so the dongle can use also for this HU. But I do hear some others need to down resolution to 720x480 for it to work. Anyways since this is by Lazada, so if it can't work just return it within the grace period.
Any insurance you can recommend which has the most cost effective?
Now its liberalised, so different carriers will have different rates based on your own profile. You will have to ask them one by one, thou some have online calculator that can help give near accurate figures. I used Allianz previously for their breakdown services and no hassle claims but sure its more expensive than most.
Happen to almost half of Honda owner. Not only new city, also to old City, Jazz, even some Perodua owner... the list more than I can remember.
Let pic do the talking, then you know who might stole yours.
Whenever i see these bikes i really feel like wanna spray WD40 on their brake disc. If they can't be civil in this life, perhaps they will learn it in the next.

LoL... dont' hate them.. I also bikers. Yes.. sample like this one
Not sure. They were able to successfully use the previous version, M2plus, which I confirm only goes down to 1280x720. I ask one of them and he replied that he used that resolution hence my previous statement.
FYI, if the phone is stick so near to HU, then really makes projecting onto HU moot, no?
FFYI, I don't hate bikers in general only those whom not fit to be human being with brain, I do think I should give karma a helping hand to sort out these miscreants.

I suspect the oil not enough, only will have this noise. U complain to SC claim warranty d onot?
I complained previously but they said cannot find the problem. Looks like I have to 'show' them. lols

Rattling noise, water inside cabin, suspension noise, the fit and finish quality...quite a lot of issue i find at fb group
I book city without do research first, because i like the design and its a H
Rattling noise & fit/finish problems are common with CKD cars, Vios also has this problem. Water intrusion, so far can see here 1 case.
If you read FB groups of every car, you will hear TONS of problems, even for Mercedes. Every car has its idiosyncrasies and you just have to go with the ones you can live with. I go with City becuz I can live with its problems compared to the outdated Vios with its poor safety specs (2 airbags? Are you kidding me?!) and I prefer not to stump for smaller, crampier Mazda2 despite its better build quality.

Vios just one alternatives...i consider suprima also now 58k clearance brand new. But no resale value and less popular and high fc lols
I have axia that already reach 130,000km mileage and that thing is reliable. No warranty claim yet so far, no rosak or rattle also. Only tukar the tyre and brake pads so far. Thats why i think vios quality should be the same. Thats my opinion only lah haha
I hope i will get lucky n get problem free city love the looks...front end like civic jr

Lolz! 58k Suprima vs 80k City. Whatever RV you get from City cannot cover the 22k price difference lor! And high FC isn't a problem if you compare it with 1.5L Civic Turbo which is Suprima competitor. It will outrun the Civic as well.
Axia was Perodua's first ingenious body hence they put a lot of attention into it to allay fears of their customers. I can't say the same for new Myvi which are being rushed out.
You will certainly get a good car upon receiving, but you better pray hard that its sound gremlins doesn't come out within the next 3-4 months. If they stay, then the car is confirmed noise free from onwards.

I'm agreed with you... previously, I chose Saga FLX instead of myvi because I'm able to live with the small small issues of Proton QCs... eventually for City.. agreed with you.. ratting noise, .. I can live with that... but Vios - size smaller, outdated... Almera - outdated and big... Mazda -- good, but smaller, and maintenance costs higher...
apparently, everyone has own preferences... dont shoot me if its not for your own preferences.
Okay..maybe i should lower my expectation on non-national cars. Always have been using local cars before, so ive got no idea
More like don't hope you're safe from escaping the tiger's mouth just to walk into the crocodile's. When you temper your expectations of locally assembled non-national cars, you won't be disappointed.
I have use new City and new Vios (just for 2 weeks) -Prefer City in all aspect.
Other cars: Saga BLM (manual) Saga LMST (manual) Kancil (manual upgraded the engine and gear to auto) - fun car but no power latest one Axia (since last monday) - really fun car.
- In term of pickup - LMST is the best (manual la kan). - Worst car - BLM (maybe FLX is better, I never try one) - Family car - City
My whole family like City than Vios. The boot spacious, really can put anything inside. Sometime when travel, I and family carry 1 24inch luggage, 3 duffel bag, some pre-cooked meal, 2 big tool box, PS4 and 23inch monitor (with box) and yet still have some space for shopping. (my spare tyre is the same sport rim, not the small one come with the car). Quite comfortable too for long drive, 8 to 12 hours is the longest trip during festive season. Speed, with 5 persons can do 180km/h without any problem (my car still standard). The only sound I heard is my wife asking to slow down. LOL.
Okay..maybe i should lower my expectation on non-national cars. Always have been using local cars before, so ive got no idea
Chill bro... I saw someone said vios is a premium car which is I'm not so agreed as the tax that caused these cars to be expensive... But I'm expecting it to be lil bit better than local.car... because of the T and H... Hahaha. I'm only local cars all the way and now onto foreign.car. bandwagon... Kancil, saga blm, saga flx, kenari, myvi 2017...
Went for service today and found out the wiper cap is missing/stolen. Happened to anyone else? Who steals wiper caps?
Anyone can steal, from other honda users to bikers to mat rempit.
Solution: Super glue the shit out your wiper.
If lost, you can get cheapo rm 1 rm 2 cover at hardware shop at sell circular rubber cover. Forgot the sizing but I bought 4 and 5 and kept few in my car. Lost my cap in East state, and replace, glue..So far still havent been stolen yet. And I can easily replace if some ass do take it.

Lol, I avoided my ori cap from being stolen by replacing them with el cheapo plastic cap from ACE. Purposely chose white colour to make them less attractive. The original caps are used to cover the exposed bolt of the front seat rails.

Bro, if I'm a mat rempit high on walter's white blue stuff washed down with ketum laced with rat poison oso I would not bother taking yours. That's ugly as sin.
Anyway seeing that anycast made me wanna try out phone connect via hdmi dongle and brake bypass for my pre-FL honda v spec. Proper videos exist n seemingly easy to be done. First page only have business card pic and video for software bypass, and the phonelink software bypass also need to be bought. Dont show me that, show me what cable to buy and how to do. Whatever, Imma do it.

I hope all of them think like you do. Indeed it's ugly, like a sore thumb. That's the idea.

You can refer to my link on Page 5 for how I did it.
Just to prevent theft, I wouldn't make my car ugly as fcuk. At least black is less obvious and if they steal it, there are spares for it.
Well, to each his own. I am a practical guy. I prioritise functionality over aesthetic. And I don't have to seethe with anger and think of evil ways to kill innocent bikers (like spraying their brake rotors with WD40) because if anyone does steal my white caps, that means he has the same mindset and I will be happy to let him have them.
Hi all, any of you using good car mats? Coil mat? Traopo? Other? Please recommend
Normal coil mat (~Rm100) from car accessories shop works for me because I used it in my previous car. Go with what works for you previously if you have doubts.

How very noble of you to these hand-itchy assh0les. Unfortunately, I am all too human and can't help but think that God give them brains not to be worse than animals.
I already use red, black and white. Still can change anytime.
I already advice my friend and City owner in few FB group to change the cap. Some of them very stubborn, still want to use the original even after losing a few times. Some of them always think no one will steal it. But end up come to me asking for my spare because I bought about 8 pairs at Ace before. Now just kept 3 pairs for my own use.
I don't care if that cap look ugly to some people, as long as I don't need to worry about it anymore, I would be happy to use it.
FYI, I almost losing the cap before when park my car at Times Square. I saw 2 persons standing near to my car, looking at the cap. Because I use ugly cap, they didn't take it and went away when I reach the car.

I am using trapo now, opted for trapo classic for thr driver side. It does trap water and dust effectively, and its super damn easy to clean. My only gripe with it is that the fit for the back middle piece (the one at the rear aircond) is not so good. Other than that its ok.
I would recommend you to go for the standard coil mat over trapo, both serves same function and the standard coil mat fits better. Though I cant vouch for ottoman, its like rm300 or something since its full leather.

Thanks for your explanation. But my concern is.. coil mat... Its hard to take larger size sands out easily.. and not dry easily.. some more got strong rubber smells and I've baby...

Yeah, you will have to whack it on the pavement to remove them especially stubborn small stones. Get the cheaper Rm100 which is thinner if this is concern, the shops will usually push the Rm200 thicker ones. Water trap, no issues, take half morning sunlight to dry. Rubber smell, erm, maybe after use for sometime it will not be noticeable? Or use car perfume/activated charcoal? I don't have any problems with this though.
my city year 2014, just service my car at 80k km..SC said still no need change brake pad...wow...never change before since new car...it this normal???
How long your brake pads live, depends on your driving style. If you're a light foot braker then the pads will live long long. If you're last of the late brakers, then already replace many times lo. So you must be the former. Just wait for the high pitch squeal when you brake to signal your pads are finished then go change.

You have godlike braking skills.
But keeping the brakes for too long and it will get brittle with age and chips off with use. Then braking efficiency drops. I had that problem with my old car.
Back then with my Persona, the rule is change every 60,000km. Not sure for City though.

If your brakes are squealing regularly or it feels you need to step on the brake pedal more than usual to stop the car, it might be better to change the pads.

It's called common sense. Nothing to do with being noble. If you get worked up over sholes easily, life will be tough and sad because sholes are everywhere. God gives us brain to think logically
If I tried to steel your ori wiper caps and found then glued tight, I'd damage your wiper stalk as revenge. In addition, if the caps are meant to be glued tight, I'd think Honda would have done it. So, those who glued their caps tight are maiming their own car just to avoid theft? I think it's stupid, but I won't go as far as telling the owners how stupid they are.
The best way to get rid of pests is to stop attracting them in the first place...unless you live in utopia where sholes did not exist or you could just wish them away.

Well in life, some choose to avoid problems and some choose to tackle head on. I choose to be the latter.
Well in life, some choose to avoid problems and some choose to tackle head on. I choose to be the latter.
Well, this reminds me of the days when I used to put bling bling stainless steel tyre air valve caps on my bike/car. It was once a popular fad and many of my friends actually tightened their steel tyre caps so hard that it required the use of spanner whenever they need to pump their tyres. After a while, the tread got worn out and they had to change the tyre valve
I lost a few stainless steel caps, until I decided to just use normal rubber caps. All was well after that. I call this tackling problem head on with common sense, without having to cut my nose to spite the face.
Regarding wiper cap, what I do is every time i go to Honda SC, i will remove it and put in my pocket because I noticed the cap sometimes being stolen by them and ask us to purchase another one..
Then, if i park my car at open place i.e. near motorcycle parking, i will remove it also.. So far my method save my wiper cap until now.. hehe
i think no need to put glue or replace it with chair / table cap.. For me i dont like it..

I thought the service advisor will indicate on the service form with a tick if your wiper caps are intact? I wonder what happens if they put a tick there and you find the caps missing.
Your method of preserving the caps is so extreme . Hats off to you.

its far away better than put glue or chair cap..
Really extreme
I realise the wiper caps are for aesthetic reason, because the bolt does not protrude out from the nut. Even if the bolt become rusty, the nut can still be unscrewed out. Hence, if the cap gets stolen, I'll just leave it as it is. Learned this when I adjusted my wiper rest position to slightly lower. Few days back, the driver side wiper hit the A-pillar when I used the wiper at normal speed
No matter they tick or jot down or remark whatever, i will still remove it..

Agree with aregip. Prevent the problem instead of ruining the car look just because of these assh0les. Though I will still use super strong sealant. This time I plan to use more of that stuff.
Can someone fill me in about the wiper cap stuff? What is it for and why do people keen on stealing it? Now only i know people always steal one. Later at home i need to check also if its still there or not

Is there anything under the cap? We glued it then one day we need to remove?
Only if you need to replace wiper arm, which you would almost never need to do. Becareful if gluing using liquid superglue cuz too much can flow to the rotation gear and jam the arm movement. I would suggest something semi solid like epoxy or strong sealant instead. I used sealant last time but probably not enough, so kena cilok too.

That pic taken before I cut it to half and trim a little bit. After cut, fit perfectly like original. I drove 180km/h, cap still there.
Another method is to use plastidip black spray. the spray can prevent the water flowing to the nut and bolt.
I did seal my leaking Proton Saga with plastidip before. No more leaking for 3 years. Before I spray, the spare tire compartment become an aquarium after heavy rain.
no need to buy fancy air valve cap, just ask from tire shop for free the silver color one. I think I have 6-7 pieces as spare now.
Not desperate but don't use brain. God gave them brain superior to animals yet they behave worse than animals. Some can condone this but my thinking is, if we want to advance, such acts must be condemned not condoned.

If yours is Espec or Vspec, try close the rear aircon vents. It will direct more air to the central vents.

The front right air has been distributed to the rear.
oh i thought both should be the same air? ya i closed the rear aircon but still the same.. but i closed the rear aircon still the same.
Not sure but I guess they designed it in such way that since the rear has aircon, the central blowers doesn't need to be strong like normal cars and instead redirect more air to the side vents for the front.

I will always close driver side, unless in very hot day.
QUOTE(Smurfs @ Sep 25 2018, 09:14 PM)

Correct.
Honda use only 1 blower, then distributed same amount of air to 3 pipelines. 1 pipeline use to distribute air to 4 middle and rear vents. Right and left vent use it's own pipeline, so air move faster, you feel more air coming out.
For testing purpose, try to blow air out from your mouth using 1 straw and then 4 straws. I think you know the answer.

do i need to install the bypass cable for me to mirror my phone screen to the HU? i m using fl hu
oh shit, how much is that cable and it is easy to install myself?
For FL from RM80 - 120. For me very easy to install, no tools required, just need to open glove box. 4-5 minutes done. Last month I sent 2 cables to Johor and Terengganu, both installed themselves.

Give them spare tire, at least smaller.
Now I thinking about giving my spare tire to my uncle. He is very active and creative modifying/creating custom bike.

Can ownself install but not so easy. Easiest way is to remove the HU and do the connections from the back. There are 2 connectors that you need to disconnect and re-connect with bypass cable.

Frustrated with these kinda people right? If they steal food or baby milk powder, that one I can understand. This one steal just to bling their bikes which nobody gives a fcuk, for what.
Anyways, different people have different opinions about this and I respect that.

I have installed 150++ bypass to City, Jazz and HRV. Only 2 City need to remove the HU first because the owner already added Amp and Subwoofer, so many wire behind the HU. Jazz is the easiest, more space behind HU. HRV need to remove the HU first for sure.
I saw the pic showing your arm... hahaha... that always happen in first try... and second.. and third... after that, you will know how to avoid the sharp edges already.

i prefer better not to remove the hu, afraid the shinny area around the hu might get starched.
then it is time to install another diy project, if compared to side step led which used around 1hr... i think this should be easier.

Different shop different price. Some shop add installation charges to the price already. Some shop sell cheap but the installation charges almost same as the cable price or higher.

That's very surprising. I order a cable and impatiently waiting for it, and I 100% plan to just do it through the glove box. Looks very simple. So many TV series unwatched waiting to be watched.
Haha! I'm amateur so I only need to install for one time. Did took me half hour to do it, mostly trying to wiggle out the connectors from the HU rear.
If I were to do it again, I would put thick cloth over the glove compartment edges to prevent the scratches on my arm.

i prefer better not to remove the hu, afraid the shinny area around the hu might get starched.
then it is time to install another diy project, if compared to side step led which used around 1hr... i think this should be easier. i see, why is the price range from 80-120? any difference between 120 and 80?
I got mine for Rm78 plus postage to my place. Some mentioned in Mudah can find one selling for Rm55~60....

Babi betul. If you say install for passenger or kids to watch video still acceptable. Cannot wait till go home only watch meh. Must watch while driving.

Good luck to those waiting in line to get their car! My loan everything has approved, but waiting time is too long for me, straight away go Kia and bought the ready stock Cerato with damn good discount. Car will be ready by this Friday for pick up since they are doing the tinted and coating for me. Anyway, bye2 to Hybrid City, didn't get the chance to own it. But I already owned a 2015 City anyway, so didn't really missed out that much.

I booked on the mid of august, Im lucky enough to get my car this week (though not my preferred color , which is white), its because my SA helped me to cut queue . Based on my booking queue, I was supposed to get it by october or november
Build quality and different segment car. At first I bought the Hybrid and I plan to give my E spec City to my dad, but since waiting time is too long they cant even confirm when i will get the car, i straight away change to Kia due to its 15K discount.

Grats bro! Didn't know it took 5 months for Perodua. Lucky my wife just bought the myvi few months back while its not hot. Haha.
Want to know how to make the CarPlay works in city 2014 model. Is it possible?
Thanks
Only Mirrorlink will work but only with certain old model from Sony, Samsung, HTC, LG, Huawei and Fujitsu. Newer model phone already remove Mirrorlink, replaced with CarPlay.

New MyVi have to wait for so long? Last year if MyVi release early I might get MyVi, can save a lot of money.
Some waited more than 6 months already. I plan to get new Myvi too last month but go for Axia SE, just 1 month waiting time because I change to red. Original order is yellow.

Since when has Myvi not been hot, especially the Adv model? I went for test drive in end May, but SA couldn't promise delivery by Aug (no GST period). It helped me decide on getting City, and I'm very happy I bought City instead
Bypass work with cable bought from shopee (oso available on lazada). Looks simple but annoying to allign the sockets. Put towel on the edges. The miracast works but since 3g need shutoff to use wifi, decided to just use usb drive for the HU. Atlast the miracast can replace my hdmi cable, more convenient. Forgot to take after done-work because drenched in sweat.

Does anyone actually use their paddle shift regularly? I have had my hybrid for almost a year, I can probably count the number of times using the shifters on one hand.

Ah, so yours is the preFL HU. Worth to do it since you can place the miracast dongle at below, unlike our FL version. What means cannot use 3g and wifi? AFAIK wifi and 3G can use together.

Not regularly, but quite often for me. When I want to overtake, on downhills (like from Genting), or when I want to engine brake like how I did with my manual car previously. Its not something you would bother with if you're the smooth driving type. I find it funny why its on the hybrid since the hybrid car is more focused on eco.

I agree, it is a bit odd to have it. But maybe it is for you to short shift when in Sport mode because that engine map tends to hold a gear a lot longer than needed and makes the engine noise buzzy.

SPORT hybrid. Have to tick a few checkboxes when there's the word Sport being marketed in it.

Being doing that when going down from Genting as well(will go up again soon lol). It helps alot to downshift plus less pressure on brakes. Not much usage on highway other than cruise control.

Yes. Downshifting down hill to engine brake saves brake pads. For Hybrids, got extra resistance from the regenerative braking to recharge the battery.
I love my cruise control so much. I am definitely fresher at my destination because I let the system manage the power train while I steer. Probably saves a bit more fuel too.

Although my daily drives majority on NS highway, I find I can only use cruise control for about 5 minutes before I come up to a slowpoke that's below my speed (I keep to the speed limits). Paddles more useful for me on my trips.

Yeah, I do that when such encounters but does annoys me when I have to engage and disengage every so often, so sometimes i just cruise w/o cruise control. No biggie anyways, just an added feature that's nice to have.

Hi guys, i owned a city hybrid and the car come with a 185/55/16 tyre as stock. Im planning to change into a sportier tyre but im having difficulty replacing with the same size. Do you think other sizes would fit such as 195/5516 on the stock rims? or i have no choice but too also change my rims either to 15 or 17 inch?
To be honest, That look normal for Honda since 2014.

There’s a HDMI. Port, I plug this in, nothing happen, any advice, to all City Sifu..
And also what is the button Phone Link for?
Did you plug the USB too?
And you need to use in normal tv first, lower down the resolution to 720x480 before can test again on HU.

Not sure about Wecast dongle, but you have to use TV/ projector/ monitor with full size HDMI input, use phone/PC wifi to access the dongle settings, change resolution to 720x480 (if you can't see this option, this device can't be use), the rest can follow this method https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?act=ST&f...post&p=86678092

Can confirm for FL HU: Mirascreen = yes, im using it Anycast M2plus = cannot use Anycast M3plus (RK version) = forumer assclown confirmed can use Ori Chromecast = forumer prasys showed video can use
Unknown: Ezycast Wecast Anycast M4plus = this is improved from M3plus above, so should able to work?
Amongst these dongles, Mirascreen has the slowest CPU & least RAM, but just for mirror to small HU screen, I see no lags. Waze, GMaps displays real time. Slower FPS for video mirroring would be due to crappy HU (supposedly max 30 fps, but I doubt it).

How you managed to lower the mirascreen screen resolution? Mine is stuck lowest at 720p. :/
I think your TV have MHL function, power draw from HDMI directly, so no need to use the USB. Honda HU doesn't support MHL so USB use for power.
FL HU supports MHL function. It is mentioned in its manual and I have tried the HDMI MHL cable to mirror my Galaxy S3. It has the USB split cable for power. BTW, MHL via cable is obsoleted function since only old smartphones like my S3 supports this but newer gen like my S7edge does not.
Ori Chromecast = forumer prasys showed video can use
Chromecast show half screen in standby mode but in full screen when play video. Tested myself using 1st version that I have.
I tried 2 more, both show half screen and there is no way to lower the resolution. Both work perfectly on LCD TV but 1 already burned, so left one use on my non wifi tv.
- found the burned one - Tronsmart Mirror 2 TV (AM8251 Quad-Core ARM Cortex-A9) - Ezycast sibling. - another one also EZcast, I use original EZcast software to cast video to TV
hi all, sifu here, those casting devices you all mentioned, will it required bypass in order to cast my waze into hu while driving? Thanks in advance ya

Mirroring via HDMI is 1st step. 2nd step is to connect via Phone Link (only for Android) on FL HU (there is a greyed out icon on HU mainscreen). You will need install PhoneLink app by DENSO TEN Ltd via Google Play and turn ON bluetooth at phone and HU. Frankly, just to control on HU screen, it is a battery eater and not worth it.

I been using Anycast M2 plus for my city 2017fl since last year, resolution set to lowest 720x480_60P Tested & can use mirror link for iphone 7 plus & samsung prime. Used Samsung prime together with phone link apps, touch screen from HU possible but not so sensitive & slow response. Recently updated the Anycast M2 plus software still have low resolution 720x480_60p selection.

Hmm, interesting... urs might be the rare RK version of M2plus, or they might have updated the software for AM version to support 720x480 since the last time I tried it. I don't have my M2plus dongle to confirm this anymore (I return it for refund), but kudos to you and ur discovery. So I guess M2plus is also now usable for FL HU too (as long the software is appropriately updated).

MHL is going to be dead soon. Sony also no longer add MHL in their TV and phone. I use built-in Chromecast to miror the display. Samsung remove a long time ago.
The way he mirror the screen can be archive by using 1 USB cable and bluetooth only for pre-FL HU, using mirrorlink with my Sony phone. No need any Cast adapter. Phone can put in drink holder.
After exploring so many way to connect phone to HU, just for fun, I decide to go the old way. Waze on phone which is hang under the rear view mirror, HU can use for movie if my kid inside the car, music, radio or just switch off.

anyone using iphone x and the lighting av adapter to mirror on the HU? after the ios12 upgrade.. my wife iphonex can't mirror to the hu..the screen on the hu freeze with the home screen of the iphone.. before the upgrade everything is find.. and mirror to tv is working.. weird.. my wife's city is the 2014/2015 version...
Perhaps, I haven't tried it recently so I don't know. Why not go for M4plus instead? (https://www.lazada.com.my//products/anycast-m4-plus-wireless-display-dongle-i409117707-s592318076.html) Almost same price, newer, and probably with more compatibility for downscaling to 720x480 resolution. If that fails, just use Lazada easy return.

The preFL Vspec HU is a respectable player. The only thing lacking is Android Auto/Carplay. Our FL HU is a piece of crap. It is there just to display the reverse camera and somewhat play music.

Any recommendations for what to do first with the car after I get it? In terms of tinting, protection, etc. And which workshop y'all can recommend I do it with in Penang Island?
Ada kereta ada amoi. But if can get the amoi, so kereta is no longer needed. Ah, but if kereta is no longer needed, then how to get the amoi?
Drive Amoi punya car lah. You get Amoi and she gets a driver. Win win.
In my experience, that's usually the case whether the Amoi is your gf or not. If you ask to drive, they gladly hand over the keys. Just be sure you can handle the vehicle.

Its really depends on what you want to do with the car. And accessorising & customising is up to individual preferences. Tinting is a near must, unless you go to& fro work in dark and park under cover. You might wanna install brake lock if worry about security but I prefer baseball bat lock for the visibility. You might prefer adding bodykit and extra LED lights (doorstep & footrest). You might wanna upgrade the HU cuz its crap, or perhaps get a compatible Miracast dongle to Waze on the HU screen. You might wanna change the rims & tyres for that sporty feeling and to tapau Vioses at corners.

Should I let the SA handle it and bring it to a workshop of their choosing or is it more advisable for me to bring it to a workshop by myself?
Better for u to collect it coz i heard from another SA, Honda going to stop taking order to fulfill this year order. Dunno he skl me or not...
Sorry, I don't get it. What I understand from my SA, Honda allocate the car to all dealers on month basis.
So, example, based on my queue, since I booked in Jul (yeah, try to get it during GST free period, but, missed it) and confirmed by my SA, the car will be arriving in Oct, or in fact arrived. So, if I don't go collect it this month, my queue will be move to November, while one fella who suppose to collect his car in Nov will collect it this month?

Done via SA will undoubtedly be more expensive. Do you have enough money and want hassle-free? Then get from SA.
Unless u bring it to somewhere far from the SA/ dealer u book the car, and very certain that the shop got no any connection or dealing with the SA/ dealer and the workshop trusted u, doubt u can get any cheaper from what SA offer.
Reason is because they have this secret agreement between them, they will not offered anything lower than what SA offer u coz they duwan offend them, just because of 1 car, they lost potential of 10s or 100s of car in long term. Most probably they will quote u the standard, RRP price, which what SA quote u, but, in case, my SA said got tinting voucher, so, it still cheaper than RRP, although I still believe the SA oledi have some cut there.
Tried that in previous car, shop around, most outlets are very reluctant to do.

I am not sure either, coz I try to get the car during GST free period, I think mid/ end Jul if not mistaken, but, the SA say confirm unable to got it by end Sep, unless someone last minutes loan not approved. Ask me to put booking fee, rn500 first, can be refunded.
Then, recently he told me car is arriving.
Anyway, I am in no hurry to get the car.
One concern, due to whatever stupid reasoning, if u collect your car towards year end, it consider full year. Example, if u collect say, Oct/ Nov/ Dec 18, your car consider as 2018 car, even though it only 3 month old in 2018, thus, affecting your selling later (not that I intend to sell also), but, that's the usual reason why many car dealers and SA throw discount to boast sales at year end (on top of try to hit target, but, I think Honda oledi hit their target long time ago)
So, I am holding on, if I can more discount than what Honda currently offering, RM5k, else, might as well get it next year.

Sure u can get more discount after get rid of all crappy free gifts from the SA. I manage to get 6k++ discount after i did those and my SA friend still going to give me half tank of fuel due to the company regulation.

I'm waiting for gsan 's leng lui SA to contact me to quote me on the rebate. After that, I will decide to go for her or my own SA. My SA already giving me quite good rebate. So see if the leng lui can beat my SA or not. Hopefully they can cut queue too. Need the car soon

Just straight face tell him the best offer you can find, and ask him if he can meet or beat that deal. That usually shuts them up.

Yeah, this usually what i do....i shop around. Usually, they say, can be discuss lah if really serious.....I told them, cut the crap, honda malaysia car is same wherever i go book, u tell me the best offer u can give me. Don't cut the crap of all nonsense they provide better after sales services lah, etc....
There is no relationship in dealing with SA......u give me the best deal, in return, if u r in my good book, i recommend u potential buyer
Sometime even seen my msg without reply, totally unacceptable when i'm the customer. So at the end did u cancel the booking?
If they dont need ur business then take ur business elsewhere lor. Surely that person is not the only SA in ur area, right? Maybe his kolik is hungrier and eager than him.

Not to criticise but Myvi and City price is a big difference. I hope you can afford going for the City and not make urself suffer later. Dont want later, gf wanna go dating no money, go movies no money, go holidays no money, wanna buy anni presents no money, straight away break relations. Haha!

My colleague booked on Mid of June, until now didn't manage to get it... Anyway, good luck
Few reasons as below but mainly its coz of budget issues: 1. Maintenance for civic (2 maintenance schedules(oil and normal service coz of turbo engine) is more than city 2. Parts for civic (tyres especially) are much more expensive than city 3. I earn 3.8k now, will touch 4.2k by next year april..at this salary range its more practical to get a civic after considering points 1. And 2. 4. City v specs already got most of the bells and whistles im looking for for my next car; good safety features, commendable power compared to the saga, pedal shifters, cruise control, leather seats and all the other accessories. 5. I read civic forums and found that there are a number of problems with the civic eg welding issues, rattling issues and so on.. (this im not sure how severe it is)
Basically i chose the city because of my budget. V spec coz i want everything the city has to offer.
Edit: you may ask why im selling the saga, im trading it mainly coz saga lacks basic safety features eg abs.

If you have concerns on Point No.5, then City also has them as well. If you only worry about maint on the turbo engine, there's also the 1.8L option. But no point to suffer just to own a car.

Not really. 4k is quite sufficient to own a City comfortably, as long the other expenses are also within means. Otherwise, if the other expenditures are unavoidable, no point to pay so much for a depreciating asset when there's the need to pay for parents, bring gf go dating, holidays, movies, buy her presents, etc, pay house installments, and must remember to save as well.
In life priorities, car shouldn't rank so high except get those with adequate safety features.

Yes, there is excessive stock for the 1.8 civic but nahh, if im going for a civic i would go for the 1.5 tc/tcp

Savings and investment is my main priority and hence A city will do for now..i can just live with the saga actually but the lack of safety features in the saga is a big factor for me in changing to the city/civic.

Reduce cost, biasa lah. Including the new HU for FL...Apart from cost, why would they change the ports from nicely placed at bottom to top, beside steering? Face lift and maintain price, they cut back on certain stuff. But cannot say all bad, at least FL owner got paddle shifts. Leather seat oso got rite?

Nope. That's only on Vspec. That's a cost plus extra on top of the other specs. The only extra I see on FL Espec compared to preFL Espec is 2 more airbags, DRL, Rear cam & HU, and paddleshifter.
seems like ur salesman didnt give u any discount,... did u get any free gift?
Yea, no discount, because it was sold out practically everywhere ( or that's what they told me). Well, the tint was FOC, wasnt anything great though, just a typical tint i think. And an umbrella

I think it's good that you recognise the poor safety aspect of using cheap old cars. Too many people go around bragging about how thrifty they are by driving a Myvi, Kancil, etc. One crash is all they need to negate all the savings, in terms of loss of income and quality of life - that's assuming they have medical insurance.
for E Spec, when off headlight, DRL brightest. When on low headlight, DRL dim down, no halogen lights on. When on full headlight, DRL and halogen both on,.... It is normal that off headlight shines brighter than on low headlight condition?

Mine does that as well. I guess in nite when rotate the light stalk to 1st position, DRL can become small light and still can be see from some distance away.

I haven't tried it myself, but some confirmed that M2plus & M3plus can use for FL HU, hence I believe M4plus can work as well. If buy from Lazada, can still return if not working.

Yes. The purpose of daytime running lights (DRL) is to increase the visibility of your car, so that other drivers can see you on the road during daytime.
Finally put down my deposit for the silver E spec. SA said I'll be able to get it in December. I'm hoping the SA can find a way to squeeze me in for November

im a new proud owner of silver E as well urs got do any cosmetic add on?
Nope, i like stock looks
My worry is how to upgrade audio system without voiding warranty. I want to change speakers and add underseat subwoofer(not sure if there is enough space for city). My current car already upgraded with good sound system, my ears will not be accepting standard stock radio sound quality anymore

Underseat is impossible. The seat mounting is on a raised hump at floor. It doesn't even have enough height to store my baseball bat steering lock underseat.
If you have modded ur audio system b4, you will utterly hate the stock audios in City. Me coming from stock Persona Blaupunkt, I already feel the City audios are lacking.
And as long everything is plug n play (don't cut and tamper with existing cable harness) and all are done up neatly being not too obvious other than the HU, it shouldn't void warranty, unless SC starts opening things up and finds out.
Lazada got? Subwoofer power cable must tap somewhere right? Later they open engine bay see the cable then gg haha

Ohh damn...looks like i have to re-use my subwoofer box from current car like that (wira). Prefer underseat because dont have to sacrifice boot space and the bass is more smooth it suit my preference
Or get a good coaxial speakers? But most aftermarket speakers totally no bass only improve clarity. Need sub to deliver the lower frequency range

I not sure about FL but my brother bought at acc shop for his PreFL E Spec. The power can be tap at fuse box under the steering.
This will give some idea where to tap.
I never install sub woofer in my car, but from my knowledge you should use the ACC ON power. So you should use the 4th row from picture above.
If use 1st row, you know la... next morning battery die.
For me Honda City speaker good enough already. But not for my new car... Axia... I just change the speaker yesterday.
I guess anyone know why I change it if look at this pic.
You use V-spec 8 speakers? Mostly i read owner not satisfied with honda city audio. The one in vios is quite good
Ahh I see, already have rough idea how to do it! Only have to see where to sumbat underseat subs or if not have to go for box type subs
I have axia also, change the headunit to higher output headunit (china double din) and china front speakers, and MBQ underseat subs. All bought from lazada. The difference from stock setup is night and day and compareable to my Wira’s set up which cost way-way expensive.

Yes, V Spec 8 speakers. Yes, some owner not satisfied with the sound but after I look at their setup.... they never bother to change the BASS and TREBLE setting.
For Axia (also for my older car), I will change the speaker 1st, if still not satisfied, then I look for better HU, maybe some branded one.
My 14 years old Saga, I installed JVC HU and 6x9 Kenwood speaker, still good until today except the volume roller, but that can use remote.

Vios audios must have to be good in order to mask the terrible NVH and non-existent soundproofing.
Some will say this is the same for my Persona, but between the engine throaty sound and superb audio, there is no NVH problem.

Mine is FL V spec. Bass I reduced 2 from max, treble reduced 1 from max. Then set sound effect to SUV. For me already good enough compared to my 2008 stock myvi speaker.
2014 HU, treble max, bass 1 below max for regular songs.
bass max for some song like Miley Cyrus - Who Owns My Heart, Taylor Swift Ft. Kendrick Lamar - Bad Blood, The Chainsmokers ft. Daya - Don't Let Me Down, Ayda Jebat - Pencuri Hati v Dangdut even my wife will turn the volume up for this kind of music.
Last night finish install another speaker to my Axia but me and my wife still not satisfied with the results. She compare with Honda HU. I told her Honda use Mitsubishi, Axia use Betamax, don't compare, unless change new HU. LOL
Anyone here use this obd auto lock? Is it good? Can we off certain features like reverse/open door double signal? Or can suggest me any better obd auto lock out there? thanks
I did purchase one from taobao but yet to try... Cheaper also.. with double signal is around 40+
This one not support 720x480, pls don’t share here. Thx for ur help for posting value deal item.
Hope can provide the link for those device confirm can use to mirror in FL HU.
Understand on ur concern. As mentioned, I haven't used it but forumer praxys has made a review of him using ChromeCast1 to mirror onto FL HU (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ToJTSKDbTIo). He mentioned it on 00:59. My take is, if CC1 can do so then CC2 should have no problems as well. Though using CC2 is most expensive option.
If however, there are issues, Lazada has return policy in place. Just make sure to return b4 expiry date. I done that couple times and no issues so far.

This looks like what I bought. I disabled: 1. Hazard lights on in reverse gear (ppl will think I'm getting out of the lot when I'm adjusting the car) 2. Hazard lights when emergency braking (too sensitive, I activated a few times and each time it activates, you will have to wait it out as you cannot switch it off unlike the ESS). I'm not sure if Honda's own ESS will unlock the doors though. 3. Hazard lights on when you forget to fully release hand brake. There is already a chime to remind you and I don't want to confuse the driver behind.

It's called daytime running light, so it will be too bright and dazzling when used at night with full brightness.

This one honda sells about 900. Lol so much different. Is the quality good? Because lastime I did put some accessories on my previous car.. the paint look the same at first three years, after that started to fadd

Oh? Perodua still using Betamek as their OEM audio supplier until now? I thought they would have changed by now.
I know this questions had been discussed many times. But I just wanted to have owner feedback if using Michelin PS4 on stock 185/55R16 rim.
I've checked on website that the suitable size is 205/50R16 which PS4 does produce this size.
If I use that tyre size, other than higher fuel consumption and tyre might look weird due to wider than the rim, is there any other disadvantages? For example like the car might sway left and right during cornering due to tyre wider than rim. Thanks all
Yes that what I read at Axia thread. Owner call Betamax to ask about Bezza and Axia HU, what is the 'beza'. Betamax say same for both.
Brings back memories. I knew a few of their managers & engineers when we were involved with Viva project some 12-13 years ago. Was surprised the company had stayed as OEM for so long.

205/50/16 doesn't look wide at all, at least for my eyes. FC seem normal to me, I get 15-17km/l at highway with half of the way is slow moving jam (5 persons in car and boot is full). Never test sharp cornering yet since using the new tire. Anyway I not using Michelin, so my thought might be different with others.

Actually, Betamax is a Sony dead video format. I watched too many youtube video about old technology, the Betamax format is mention in a lots of video.

Both my jazz gk n city is on michelin ps4 205/50/16. So far so good. Just feel less responsive on my city compare to stock tyres, probably due to better grip.
hey guys battery time, need some enlightenment here

hey guys battery time, need some enlightenment here
1) I know for city it's NZ40 size but can we use NZ60 ? should be no issues right ? 2) I read up on NZ40 and it has batteries from 36B20L all the way to 50B20L, can someone tell me is the numbers indication of the power performance ? longer lasting ?
1) The battery tray seems able to fit NS60 battery, but check with ur battery pomen 1st. 2) Its power performance/electrical capacity. Anything higher than stock OEM battery is always better. If you have lotsa bling lights and speakers plus woofer, higher capacity is a necessity when alternator cannot support the extra power drain. Upsizing the battery (ie going for NS60) will have the same effect, which might be cheaper than going for higher capacity NZ40.

Yes.. I using Century NS60 before (nearly 2 years). Last longer than Yokohama NS40 that came with the car which is kaput after 1 year 2 months (stinky vapor coming out from the battery when hot). Right now using back FB NS40 from battery recall program.

Normally this kind of company never update their website until they need to find a new contract.
Doesn't look nice to ma eyes... Can see it's a PS Civic Type R kit.
Never really did like the Civic 10 TR outlook. Too ricer for me, but I guess personal preference is no right or wrong. I do wonder if the fake intercooler behind the grille will be included into the package as well....

Both my jazz gk n city is on michelin ps4 205/50/16. So far so good. Just feel less responsive on my city compare to stock tyres, probably due to better grip.
Thanks for the replies. Then most probably I will change to 205/50R16 when it's time to change new tyre
Anyone has installed the Viofo A129 Duo in their car? Did you do it yourself or brought it to a shop to install it? Especially the rear camera. Any recommended place in Penang to get it installed?

Im planning to buy too. My previous dash cam installed by myself and planning to do the same for the Viofo~ Quite easy to install

Will the installation of the rear dash cam void any warranty?
Shop recommendations may include KL/surrounding area as well as I am moving to KL with the car

Any accessories shop can do it. If you just power up via ciggie lighter, lagi simple as there is no need to pay for fuse tap and extra fuse or 12V >5V converter (assuming it uses 5V power). And it is unlikely to void warranty. I don't think you should pay more than RM50.

I also installed all dashcam myself. Not so hard actually. But so far never use dual dashcam, was looking for a new one for months but stop when I have to completed installing CCTV for my house first.
Based on the review by one of our members here, the results very impressive.

What's the benefit of using a dual cam system compared to 2 standalone for front and back?

Viofo A119 have 3 version. Viofo A119, Viofo A119S and Viofo A119 Pro. The difference is the lens and sensor, so different quality.

Timing, if dual then video have same timing. when edit you have a better video. In the events of accidents, every seconds count.
In case using dual, if 1 detected a hard hits, both will record a secured video.
If 2 single units, maybe front will detected that, so rear won't record a secured video.
also when want to record secured video manually, how to press a button on rear one?

Yup. The price is pretty good for a dual dash cam. Aliexpress is about RM700+. I'm wondering how to conceal the wires when carrying it to the back

Try install yourself. I would install the Viofo A129 duo using the cigarette port from the front. Slip the cables into the rubber door. Blue line - cigarette port to main dashcam Red line - main dashcam to rear dashcam (use driver mat to cover the cables)

Thanks for the illustration! Will maybe have a tinker around once I've gotten the car
Hey guys. Sorry If this was asked a million times before. I haven't got the car yet but I want to understand if the HU requires cables (chromecast, HDMI, etc) just to use to navigation apps? I don't want to mirror my phone. Just wanna use Google maps etc.

The player is not android...no apps. Can only mirror from phone

Can show how do you hide the red line cable? As there is curtain airbag at A-Pillar there.

Don't use pillar at driver side, use the other side, more space to lay the cable that side. There is no airbag on the pillar, curtain airbag under the roof lining only.
Thanks. Kinda sad that we actually have to buy something just to use navi apps on the HU.
Then just use Waze/Maps on phone like me. I never get sad doing that. I even bought bypass to install to HU so my kids will be happy watching their fav movie while in the car.

I prefer to use my phone for Google Map instead of buying bypass cable.. Really not worth it.. need to connect la, got wire here and there la.. Plus during daytime, our HU can't see it clearly..

When you start using it, you will quickly find that FL HU is pure crap. An FM radio with USB function tacked onto a low res LCD screen for reverse camera purpose only, packaged into a 2-DIN casing.
The audio fidelity is crap, the video play is limited hence crap, the extended functionality (CD, Navi, smart connect) is near non existent also crap, the bluetooth function is totally crap (it has to cycle thru my contacts every time I connect b4 I can speeddial, WTF!), the only saving grace is the HDMI port which enable mirroring.
If ur the fussy kind, you will want to change it cuz it performs like a crappy Rm100 Made-in-China player. And even that crappy China player would have more functions than this pure crap HU.

Sorry, i dont have my car with me right now. Now working oversea. I just push the wire behind the plastic cover of the A-pillar. I dont think it will affect the side curtain airbag because i only push the wire until it is not visible into the plastic cover. The depth is probably around the diameter of the wire which is less than 5mm.

haha.. 200% agreed with you.. bloody cheaper HU with screen.. Suppose they just maintain the GM6 PreFL HU instead of upgraded it.. The only reason why i can still live with it is their reverse camera only.. Maybe one day i will upgrade it..
No worth it spend money buying bypass cable and hdmi cable for the sake of google map or watch video.. if its can act like Android Auto, then ok la.. Low resolution, slow response.. Better use our phone..

Easiest way is to change to Android HU with GPS receiver. You can install Google Maps, Waze, Papago, ... and run directly from the HU.
For Google Maps, Waze, etc. will need to share your handphone data as WiFi hotspot.

Cheap one a few hundred can get.
That makes sense. I guess the HU is not anti-reflection also. The only problem I have with using the navi app on phone is that the phone holders I buy keep getting loose or breaks after a few months.

Maybe the HU position is not good.. or, maybe correct you said that there is no anti-reflection.. Regarding phone holder, i bought at Mr. Diy for 5.6 inch phone.. So far so good.. the rubber on the suction is sticky one instead of hard rubber.. around RM 13.. Its very good..

Suddenly kinda regret of getting E spec as the HU is kinda sucky... More than 6k diff btw E and S
Really meh u regret..??
For me, E spec is really good because you got back aircond, paddle shift, auto cruise, 2 extra airbag and lousy HU with 3 view reverse camera..
its not add RM 6k for upgrading from normal radio to lousy HU only.. got lot of extra there.. and those extra really good you know..
you can just change android HU around RM 500-700..

Everything else can be added for less than 6k, but that 2 extra airbags is worth much more than that 6k. You can't get those from aftermarket or Brothers. So for me, that alone it is worth going for Espec.

Back aircon - No big impact if not for family drive Paddle Shift - Only play during first week I got the car, lol Cruise Control - Seldom use unless on highway,...
But i felt quite thankful when noticed that the inner door opener is chrome instead of plastic like S spec, lol
by the way, any idea where are the 4 airbags in E spec located? 2 biji at dashboard, how about another 2?
