Hi Guys, I am thinking to switch out from Maxis with pathetic 5gb RM48 per month.

Is Unifi Mobile line reliable?

BTW, the RM99 per month unlimited data is tempting!!

I see, then maybe can get a prepaid to try out? Coz the area might be covered, but your place might be in a blind spot. It's hard to estimate unless you try it out.

Like my parents place, 4G coverage but data is slow like hell, but at 200m away, 4G full speed.

You can always just take Unifi Mobile prepaid to test the connectivity first, once okay, then only you decide whether to port to Unifi Mobile Postpaid or not.

My experiences...

When Unifi Mobile first launch (still called Webe at that time), I have to use Webe as my secondary lines while remain my Celcom as my main number, as at first, Webe have coverage, speed and SMS problem...

But now? While coverage still an issues, I quite satisfied with Unifi Mobile now, in fact I already terminate my second line and ported my Celcom to Unifi Mobile.

Heck, coverage even not an issues now when Unifi Mobile is cover by Celcom 3G and will be 4G in the future.

Btw, go for the 99 one for unlimited everything!

Thanks for the feedback guys. I think I will go get a free prepaid number to try it out with my other phone.

Since it said it is Free and comes with limited time 8GB free data.

yeah, as celcom using band 3 and band 7 at most area,... unlimited data should still working as it is roaming partner agreement since it is capped at 7Mbps... and celcom infra is more than capable to handle unifi bebas user for sure since celcom itself have a few other isp under too

I tried locking to band 3/band 7 with huawei b618-65d, it has no signal - showing not connected on modem page.

Two months back, I used Celcom SIM phone can get band 3 either 15mhz/20mhz in the same location. Maybe, unifi mobile won't hog on Celcom network at area with their own network available.

It's OTP, but I wish someone could confirm. Today, I received a call from 03-22003100 from Celcom to offer their "Home Wireless Broadband" with 60GB for RM70 (normal with 25GB), or 1150GB for RM106 (NP for RM150 and probably 1tb is for video walla).
Anyone gets this call?

i tried change APN to celcom, can still use.
my other phone which previously cannot use unifi due to not supported band oso can use now whether i use APN unifi or celcom.

I have requested for a sim, when choosing ebanking payment and the screen shows loading for 3-4mins, I thought it was my wifi, so I switch to data, It jumped to main screen.
And I can't continue the request already, talked to the Support, they said I need to wait few days for the request to expired only I can continue again.

Waited 3 days, Requested again, also stuck at payment loading screen. Then timeout when it loading for 5mins. I think I have to wait another 3 days to request again and choose credit card payment option.

Shit.

Hi. This is regarding unifi mobile prepaid with the 2GB free data.
Anyone facing issue where accessing a simple app or webpage get 10MB deducted?

E.g., i just turn on mobile data, access the unifi@mobile app, and turn off mobile data, this will get 10MB deducted from the final balance.

Every time I turn on data, tap on whatsapp and that is 10MB gone. Anyone else facing same issue?

No where to check. Have to live chat them for checking Everytime 😅 by the way if you sim upon expiry, they will send a warning email to ask you perform usage/top up

I also faced this issue "data deduction" with #bebas. But, i never get data "return / reward". Many data was gone, just awhile. Is not as data as per usage.

Just saw the mobile unifi apps for #Bebas plan..

Found out there is a word 3G/LTE for basic data while another data quota is LTE ONLY..
Look like Unifi mobile already sharing with celcom LTE..

One way to find out is to see whether Unifi@mobile is on Bands 3 or 7 of LTE. If it is, then it's using the Celcom 4G network.

Look like it is.. Perhaps you may try manually switch to celcom LTE and streaming youtube, see whether the 3G/LTE will kena deduct data quota or not.

I think 4G roaming only working at place outside unifi mobile own coverage. It selected celcom 4G tower allowing unifi 4G roaming.

dont make sense place with unifi mobile own coverage will roaming to celcom 4G too.

Throttled to 64kbps if you are using one of the Unlimited passes on Unifi Mobile (also standard on U Mobile and Digi unlimited data plans). No throttle on torrent applies when you are using high speed passes with limited quota.

There is no options for transfer credit..
So it might not be possible to do so..

Previously I use vpn to streaming video (which is not youtube or dailymotion), improvement a bit speed.
But after 1 hour, again throtted down speed..

Maybe unifi detect ur usage keep on-going with non-stop, so automatic throtted again..

So it might be the same if use vpn downloading torrent.

1. Does TM always, never fail to send sms to remind user nearing expiry? I lazy to track on calendar because i am passive user

2. Which payment channel for reload does not charge extra? FPX transaction do charges right? sorry i noob i dunno

3. According to their FAQ, "usage, buy any add-ons, or perform a reload" extend validity. Does the reload action proved its extension effect? because i didnt read anyone with that experience.

Is that weird because it should take 7 working days? Also the email came with the invoice said "Take note: Your Unifi Mobile SIMs will be ready for self pick-up. " Is it ready or what? i am too stupid , sorry for spamming

From my experience:
1) Not sure as I normally try to use it once before the 3 months' expiry.
2) Normally I use credit card, no extra charge
3) Not sure as I'm using it from time to time, but I believe the answer should be "yes" as it's listed in the T&C
4) Yes most likely you can collect it immediately

I managed to get the sim and register the account. The sim registration is so fast (in one day) i cant believe it. Pls bear with me for more questions:

1. Is it a must to use phone to reload? i kinda scared about phone banking security compare to my computer. Also, can i use other phone (not having the unifi sim) to reload ? since the apps seem based on account.

2. Does the free LTE only data or the 50MB 3G/LTE data used first? because i want to make sure my phone can use LTE data before purchasing any data plan

1. To reload you need the phone app. Doesn't matter if the app is on the phone itself together with sim or any other phone without that sim as long as mobile@unifi app is signed in with your account (the unifi phone no. & password)

Thanks for quick and detailed reply. I guess i will have to buy the 3G only data plan. I think this plan is the currently most cheap in the long run for very passive user, while onexox is the most cheapest if you dont mind to change phone no. every two years

No idea if this plan is most cheap in the long run if you're on 3g only because you're wasting the lte data. If you're on 4g/lte phone maybe yes.

My sister ported in from digi. Previously she had to spend rm20 per month but since on unifi mobile she only spent rm15 for 1gb lte + 1gb 3g/lte and rm10 for 60 mins call from early Dec till now still not finish yet so she's happy with the savings she has since Dec.

Onexox .. bit complicated for me as you need to buy pass first then use bit by bit. I prefer straight forward. My main line now is Yoodo .. RM5 per month for 50 mins calls which is more than enough for my usage. Then for data, my unifi mobile (as I'm using dual sim phone) as still have total about 50gb with 3 no to rotate.

I just register a new number like 10 minutes ago, and i track my order on the apps. I opt for self-pickup. The status is processing but it also said the order ready for collection. And to @ckpv5, sorry i didnt make it clear. What i meant was Unifi offers very good, almost second to none (other than xox) long line validity for very pasive user that rarely make calls/sms. I didnt meant about data price and/or validity, sorry for confusing anyone who read

MiNe is the same , nothing, i didnt notice and thought that it will be provided right after 10pm yesterday, and kept on using data, and it used out all the free remaining data ( around 2gb) without any notice or warning, until now 12pm still has not got the free weekly pass. Now the unifi hmobile has zero data left.

Last night live chat said they will fix within 24 hours and get me to contact support again if solution not resolve. Just now contacted live chat again and she said they will fix in 3 working days. She also mentioned everyone is having the same error now and advise me to buy quota add on if want to use internet as taking another weekly pass and they can't fix my problem. sad.gif

I'm unifi mobile since webe. 5 line. No need to worry about data anymore. Awal2 dulu 79 unlimited. Pastu 69, 59,49.. mmg jimat. Jarang topup data hotspot.


Mmg berbaloi... Dulu customer celcom. Tapi data asik tak cukup. Guna no ni dah 20tahun.

Yes, assuming one can keep it active by doing chargeable action every 3 months. Next is onexox that give 2 years validity for new mnp number. Every other telco beside these two now no more got long validity, gotta reload frequently.

Why need to actively terminate Unifi? Just don't do anything with it for more than 90 days and TM will terminate for you.

For my data usage, just switch on unifi#bebas a while (around 4-5 mins), there was given the un-tally result.
under my phone setting-data usage-SIM shown 5.4MB, but on mobile@unifi app data shown 200MB (deducted).
Have anybody come across this same issue?

i used my line last week after getting email notification that it will be terminated in a week. still, today i received another email saying my line will be terminated. when i checked the app, i'm shocked to see status "termination in progress". is it too late to recover the number now?

Coverage is not as good as maxis. And unifi mobile separate 3g and 4g quota. If you r out of 4g coverage and u have no 3g quota, your internet connection will be dropped.

Not necessarily need to topup RM10 every 90 days. Every usage will extend that 90 days validity.
With a RM10 topup for Calls/SMS, assuming 1 sms is sent every 90 days i.e 4 sms/year .. it will take 15 years to finish/expire.

You can only apply thru mobile@unifi app for the SIM and can buy the topup / add-on thru the app too.

For convenience's sake, yes each smartphone each app.
If using someone else's phone & app, it's a hassle to logout / login for each account to do transaction.

just wondering...i still have like 19gb of the free 20gb data from the early free sim...
but for quite awhile already i cannot even get 4g or even 3g signal around PJ area.
over the last yr or so, i have only bought rm10 call/sms so i can continue sending out stuff to keep it active...just the data doesnt work anymore cos looks like there is some throttling going on?
so do i need to actually buy data now?

Try spend rm15 and buy the 1gb 4g and 1 gb 3g and see can or not. If still not ok, maybe u can try replace your simcard.

Unifi offered free sim for me before but their 4G was terrible and unstable.

Recently, Unifi offered again 10GB LTE for Unifi users, so I'm going for another trial.

Surprisely, my house now got covered 3 bars 4G indoor which is 10+ Mbps and very stable.

My questions is UNIFI BEBAS WEEKLY ALLOWED WIFI HOTSPOT?

Anyone having a problem to log in unifi@mobile?

When I try login, it mentioned number not register and request to use the number registration option. When I try to register, it shows the number is registered...

The number was registered but showing ops message so i manually logout.

I was planning downgrade Unifi Lite to Unifi Basic for saving RM50, Unifi bebas can become hotspot once quota consumed.

ok i can confirm the data is being throttled / blocked unless I actually top up data...
as general usage of the unifi app or attempting to top up via bank actually transmits data fine...just cannot do anything else.
not bothered to top up anyway... since it's just used as secondary number mostly for whatsapp.

I think when Unifi is riding on Celcom 4G, users won't have to do anything additional. Just use it as it is. Just like currently on the MVNOs you see the MVNO's name and not Celcom.

So how would we know it's on Celcom LTE? If it's on LTE Band 3 or Band 7 then you would know it's riding on Celcom LTE infra.

did you check the sim can accept 4G connection??
if u did that, means we cannot force the connection to Celcom 4G only..
or, Unifi trick us by putting us in 3G Celcom eventhough it said it is in 4G connection..

i think place under unifi 4G serve area can't connect to Celcom 4G tower. Need try out at area where 50211 & 502153 network not exist.

I think unifi mobile will benefit more when it comes to indoor coverage, especially in most commercial places.

The LTE coverage of unifi mobile looks quite comprehensive for outdoor.

Don't understand the desperation to use Celcom 4G on Unifi. When it comes, it comes. Before that you still have the existing Unifi 4G.

some more, people like to use Celcom infra for stability and speed..Unifi infra can reach only 10mbps-25mbps..Celcom much more higher..maybe up to 100mbps and more stable than Unifi infra..

Need help on a couple of questions for Unifi bebas weekly.

1) Understand that no quota on tethering but whether we tether or not, there's a speed cap of 8Mbps? Couldn't find Unifi website mentioning anything about speed cap or the speed cap limit

2) Instead of putting the sim card into phone, I can put it into my modem right?

3) If phone/modem don't have band 5 but have band 40, can I still use Unifi or does Unifi only allow band 5?

4) Am a bit confuse with the '1st reload thingy' for new user. Basically what's it saying is the 1st time I pay for any plan/add on--so long as its minimum $30, can get the free $20 7 day unlimited LTE?

I know band 5 is for Unifi but not sure whether band 38 or 40 is a common band shared by some of the telcos. [edited my earlier sentence as I think this may better reflect the situation-not sure]

I have just ordered my Unifi sim card. After which I tried logging into unifi for the first time-they then ask me for my mobile number. Should I key in the mobile number I chose for my Unifi sim card or the number I gave when I first filled in my personal details to place an order?

Can I do the below?

1) 1st question
1st week-pay $20 for unifi bebas
2nd-4th week-pay $10 for sms & voice (will ensure that I sms/call or top up within 90 days)
5th week-pay $20 for unifi bebas

2) 2nd question
Maybe after a couple months later, change from unifi bebas to Unifi mobile 99
If I cannot do that, can I cancel my unifi bebas and then order a new sim to subscribe for Unifi mobile 99 (understand that I can have only 1 sim card).

What I meant with my first question is because my unifi may end up being my 2nd line(backup)data when my main internet data provider (eg: Yoodo) run out of quota. That's why I don't have to buy Unifi data every week--maybe once a month only. To keep line active/maybe when I need some to make some calls/sms, then I will buy the calls & sms (as this is cheaper than buying data when I don't need it). Thus, my plan/payment always change every week. Was wondering whether Unifi is ok with me varying my plan every time.

For 2nd question, thanks. Didn't realise before I could subscribe to 3 postpaid.

BTW, if anybody was wondering about modems, this little plastic fantastic works wonders with Unifi Mobile (Prepaid):

The Prolink PRT7011L. It's probably the cheapest (got mine below RM200, new), lightest and thinnest (yeah it's more compact than your average Huawei E5577) Mifi I know of that supports Band 5/38/40. It's also quite robust, never giving me signal nor WiFi drops through hours and hours of continuous, plugged in use (even through a few Div 2 forays).

Cons? Battery life is "just" 10 hours, build is pure crap plastic, it can get hot in use while charging (and no you can't use it hooked up without the batt in), it's just Cat4/WiFi-n (but hey, 8mbps limit anyway) and no screen (though the Prolink App does help mitigate this).

Been using Unifi mobile for almost 1 year. So far so good with the coverage and not much different compare to Celcom. Maxis (wife use) line have better coverage and speed faster. Anyway, you pay for it...

I found some problem with Unifi Mobile utilizing Celcom 3G is that when our phone connected to 3G, even we move to area with Unifi Mobile 4G coverage, it will remain on 3G until the signal become weak, then only it search for stronger signal and connect to 4G. This will drain 3G quota...

Hopefully later they will make 4G and 3G data quota merge, after complete merging with Celcom 4G infra sharing.

Hello..been using weekly unlimited for 2 weeks and experiencing slow down gradually.. at first the speed almost 20mbps but now constant 2/3 mbps and during peak..less than 1 mbps..am i the only one facing this?

I don't understand how you managed 20 mbps on Bebas unlimited data as it is capped at 7-8 mbps. You must have been testing with the free data.

Mine expired on 21st Sunday around 10 pm night. But I waited until 2am on 22nd Monday to buy the weekly unlimited. Let's see if they give me free 1 week or not, although I didn't receive any emails.

haih this unifi mobile really banyak macam. i got 4 lines under them. i wanna port out all 4 to digi. but digi side keep getting rejected message with reason: some or all numbers not under same donor.

checked with unifi cs, the reason they give is different, saying my application for each number was done under different order. digi there i do under one order. really teruk. but they never ans my question why the rejection message is different.

anybody face this issue with them?

i faced the same issue last night..only purchase bebas weekly this early morning..missed the free 1 promo,so dissapointed..but i did live chat and complained,and requested them to extend promo period till today since the apps problem yesterday..lets see if they take any action,which i dont think so hahah🤣

I guess don't expect so much from them... Because the more you use on celcom, the more they have to pay celcom...

Most likely the roaming on celcom network will only come into picture when there is no other choice.

Bebas purposely do that and see how many people complaint about not getting free pass..
i got one technician who reload to get that Free 1 week Bebas but never come..

Ask him to lodge complaint....selamba say tak payah..

It's a trick to make you buy another 1 day addon. Be careful don't fall into the trap because once you buy , they won't be able to credit you with the free weekly unlimited one while the 1 day one still active.

For now, I stopped all streaming activities and only use my backup onexox data for general internet browsing while waiting.

If by end of day still no sign, I better buy a kite for tomorrow.

In the meantime I dig up my old Digi Live prepaid (kept in grace period) and reactivated it by 1 day validity (1/- only). Then bought 1 day unlimited for another 1/- (capped 3mbps).

I was surprised I could stream this morning 3am Champions League match .without buffering.

Maybe I might revert back to Digi infinite 100 postpaid (10 Mbps) and ditch this stupid scam Unifi.

3mbps is enough for YouTube streaming without buffering at 480p, and DiGi would run at the max res. 480p only on auto for some plans.

Yes correct. But don't make the same mistake as I did. I bought few hours before midnight , then it auto renewed after midnight another 1/- for new day. So in the end I paid 3/- for my mistake. I read you can disable auto renewal, but I don't know if the 1/-
per day unlimited offer will still be available after that.

This is an unethical company, no shame. Even complain to mcmc, just as inefficient.

Mine I bought on 22nd April still waiting till now. Complain to their email mobile support multiple times and their official keep saying sorry and looking into it, but still nothing done.

Seems they are following the example of the Apa Malu bossku.

You have to click on Box of Surprise. It's not available to everyone or all the time.

But I am real pissed with Unifi mobile because my free weekly unlimited still not given yet. Had no choice but to use Digi for time being. I am not giving any more money to the scammer.

Is it common to connect 4G briefly then switch to H+ which i assumed 3G? When i connect to 4G and open the unifi apps, it always show 9.95GB LTE data only, weird. Maybe it is my faults like location and old phone. I am asking because the data plan with 4G LTE data is much cheaper

I jus get my free weekly pass after wait for nothing a day long. U need live chat to get the free data after one whole day nothing happen.

I have live chat with them twice before, I have complained to mcmc, I have emailed their mobile support with back and forth replies many times, it's still the same story. Still looking into it

Enough of begging. I am not giving these cheats any more money. They can keep their free weekly data. I have decided to stay permanently with Digi Live.

Digi 1/- infinite internet a day (30/- a month) at 3mbps is good enough. Can still stream Netflix 720p smoothly, can stream my football matches smoothly so far. Yesterday Barcelona vs Liverpool not a single pause.

If I need Digi full speed (can get 25mbps in my area) to download some movies , I just buy 2/- (10gb) for 7am to 1 pm or 1 am to 7am. (This way DL 10 mkv movies at 5gb each will cost me only 10/- more)

In 1 mth I save 40/- over Bebas unlimited.

Yes, I realize that the connection will continue to stick to 3G even I am in the 4G coverage. I think something to do with the carrier side.

Wrong, look at my screenshot somewhere above. I have been buying weekly add-on continuously without fail for more than a year. I bought the promo buy one Free one on 22nd April, the first day of the promo. Till now I still have yet to receive the free data.

For unifi mobile, i picked it for never expire data quote. With 8GB, I think it can last me for 3-4 months easily, as I am long usage.

The prosperity promo in my history disappeared, most likely unifi mobile is preparing for the RM55/month promo.
I believe there should be one coming up since we got it for Deepavali, Christmas, and CNY, only left Hari Raya.

but the speed is not fast enough. due to capped speed right?
if i take rm99 monthly postpaid, speed is capped or not? also it is unlimited for both 4g/3g right?

use Unifi data after my TT on grace period..
i'm suprise 200MB gone within 2 days eventhough no video being played..
no wonder people say data drain very fast (Onexox also the same)..lucky TT data not drain very fast..supposed my usage only 20mb-30mb if using TT with same pattern usage during using Unifi data..

If based on procedure from mcmc, max take 15 working days.. (I repeat again, "working days"..) to settle the problem.
And yes, weekend and public holiday cannot count...

My unifi case also same follow up from the month of Feb this year until now, no news, no feedback.

Dang.. yesterday website still shows the free 10gb lte data. After I got the sim card, only 2gb..

Kena con... And yes, t&c stated promo ended March but the website banners stated otherwise.

Paid RM0 for 2gb data .. oh well

i received mine last nigt. this only after i chat with them 2 times. the 1st time i end up bought another 1 week pass. then they call me saying that after the current pass finish, chat again with them. so last night after my data expired i chat with them asking for the freebies. they said it will take 24 hrs. then i ask if buy the daily pass will it be okay. after the agent check again, she said it take 2 hours. so i wait and it come roughly after 1 hours i chat with them

if go to tmpoint also cannot settle the cancellation, try port out to prepaid..
Digi normally offer free sim card for MNP..but I believe, based on my experience, all things that make TM lose money need to settle at TMpoint (cannot just call to terminate line)..

Band 5 is sensitive to airplane?
I noticed internet connection got disconnected everytime airplane passed by apartment.

Currently I am using Bebas Weekly Unlimited data for RM20 per week, RM80 per month then.

If there any other telco offers cheaper than RM80 for unlimited data?

Any modem is suitable for Unifi Mobile so I can put it to router to have WIFI connection?

After 2 weeks of wasting so much time on live chats and email after email with the same useless reply "We will escalate the matter to the relevant dept", I lodged another detailed and comprehensive complaint to MCMC yesterday.

Today Unifi straight away credited the free weekly data. I am certain this kind of cat and mouse game they are playing won't end. I bet they will start their nonsense again next promotion

They probably give this free addon when most people already have an active plan. Only few people will benefit, unless the free addon last for a week.

on monthly basis:
unifi mobile - rm80 for 8mbps
yes4g - rm30/49/69/99 for 4/5/6/(no cap) mbps respectively - cannot hotspot
umobile prepaid - rm30(25 offer)/50(40 offer) for 3/5mbps respectively - cannot hotspot
digi prepaid - rm30 for 3mbps (have to renew daily) - hotspotable?

Initially I looked at Yes4g and thought RM48 can get unlimited per month but can't hotspot... so damn

👍 Good thinking. Digi got free stuff also. 1 gb free but full speed (I presume). Bebas unlimited offer much more worth only IF by coincidence you don't have any active addon running.

Digi prepaid unlimited 1/- per day (3mbps) is one time offer under Box of Surprise. Auto renew daily. Can put in router hotspot, but when you unsubscribe , the offer no longer available.

Umobile problem is the video SD 1.5 Mbps cap.
