If you do not have a Current or Savings Account with Maybank but you want a Maybank2U online account to check your Maybankard 2 Cards transactions, you need to go to a Maybank branch to get it done. Better that you inform the officer that you want the Maybankard 2 Visa or MasterCard as the main account and add your Maybankard 2 Amex to it. However if you want your Maybankard 2 Amex to be the main card for the account, when you first log in to register username add 0 to the 15 digits of your Amex card. Maybankard 2 Cards FAQ:

1. Must read - GST information
2. This is a 2 cards combo - AMEX together with master/visa, you CANNOT cancel the master/visa and activate the AMEX alone.
3. The rebate is calculated according to the CALENDER month and not per your monthly statement cycle.
4. The rebate is usually credited to the AMEX card on the 1st or 2nd of the month.
5. No more GST for Maybankard 2 Cards (both principal and supplements) starting from 01 April 2015.
6. If you receive the cards through postage, you can activate it online through M2U (though some reported activation is not required). If you get your cards from the bank/credit card center counter, you do not need to activate it.
7. You do not need to post back the acknowledgment copy when you receive the card by post/courier.
8. The weekend rebate capped of RM50/month for the Maybankard 2 Amex is shared between the Principal and Supp cards.

Maybank block all card for both iTunes and Google Play. Have to call Maybank to release and allow you to add card and pay with the card. Only can release 1day.

One day? Can be more than that. You can even do it permanently. Mine is unblocked for indefinite period but I don't use it for these two anymore as no benefits using Maybank cards.

I request to release permanent, but they not allowed as tonight I want to purchase an iPhone. But Maybank not allow. So yesterday call to release until tonight 23:59:59. Just now call again and release to 14/10/2016 23:59:59. They need to get approve from officer one. Maybe change already

But I had a problem using the Amex card at gemfive and also Apple Store. Two different Amex cards. Received msos code but it cannot authenticate the cvv number. I had to call Maybank to get it fix

Yes, AmEx. One forummer reported every time but I never had issues with this because Maybank told me mine is already activated permanently.

I heard that there are many fraud cases with Amex card for online transactions, thats why they disable it by default.

Having problem with AMEX at Apple online store

The Samsung Pay can use the magnetic transmission similar to the magnetic strip in the credit card. If the terminal support magnetic swipe, theoretically it should support Samsung Pay.

Normally if have Samsung Pay. Apple pay is coming soon

Magnetic?....we have migrated away from magnetic strip to chip a long time ago...only the great us of a still use magnetic strip information storage....

It's based on nfc... which is a non proprietary standard....but the system is based on phone signature, hence limited phone models that will work....

It can be open, not restricting phone model/made, as long as nfc enabled.... just like keyless entry in some hotels nowadays....use your phone as key to open your hotel door....

Yes, I think most cards in Malaysia are chip based. But I think some terminal might still support magnetic swipe. Countries like USA still mainly use magnetic swipe. (Unbelievable, right?) So, some shops might still use them so that they can support foreign customer.

Since Samsung Pay is a proprietary payment format, I guess that they can limit to whatever model they want (and maybe hardware dependent). Android Pay should support more devices (as long as the device is using Android 4.4 and support NFC)

Malaysia is 100% chip compliant for many years.... however, as long as there are countries that use magnetic strip storage, cards will still come with dual mode storage....

Some localised cards like ATM or restricted debit cards in some countries already are mono storage....they come sans strip....

well, we are not decision makers of maybank...in any case, many people feel maybankpay is an interim product, as such restricted product will have no critical mass to take off...it doesn't cost maybank much....just write an app....they are using visa wave infrastructure, so minimal capital outlay...

in fact, the people well positioned to implement a phone based payment system are those who already have a wide based infrastructure...ie visa and mastercard....unfortunately, both have already invested heavily into a card based contactless payment (wave), and i don't see them giving that up...in any case, while EVERY card they issue now is wave enabled, not everybody have nfc enabled phones and/or know how to use it...so i think there is some leg still in a simple card based wave system...

just like everybody knows how to open a hotel door with a card, but few knows how to use the keyless phone entry...

Good day guys, wanna ask opinion here, am planning to cancel this card, as it seems doesnt give much benefit anymore now, specifically for cashback rebate. Currently still have ikhwan mastercard and also citibank cashback. main usage is petrol, grocery, telco.

Benefit of cancelling,
Free up 2 extra slots in wallet.
Less montly commitment

Cons.
This card have no charge, annual fee, etc. Might just keep as back up.
Wont get 5% dining cashback. But rarely use though.
Amex might have special promotion on certain time/ period.

You can keep one card at drawer and keep the amex for some emergency. But if you plan to cancel, maybe can ask to transfer the Credit Limit to Ikhwan. I am not sure it will work.

Or if you think those two card is annoying, can cancel, maybe they will have some retention to you

since you already have ikhwan mc, keep this, and cancel m2cards.

still worth to keep at least 1 mbb card, just in case for last-minute epp or bt promo (ongoing now) or pump petrol/grocery using ikhwan (in case citi cb over-quota liao).

i applied this dual CC in may bank branch on 12/10, usually take how long time to approve ? what if they reject my application, can i go to 1u and submit my application for 1 hour fast appove with stronger document ?

If they reject your application, you will need to appeal first or apply only after 6 months later.

Which email address you sent to? So far my emails were sent to mbbcardservices@maybank.com.my and though they are slow but I still got replies. Probably every 2-3 days I will get a reply from them.

Else, you can just walk in to any nearest branch to get it updated. Bring along latest 3 months payslip and EFP statement just in case. I did mine early last year in KLCC branch. There is a form to fill in.

should take less than a week. Usually if the application is approve, u can see the card appear in your maybank2u even before you get the card or approval message.

did you try to add non paywave card? getting error for adding that?
as my understanding, you dont need paywave card..
after you add into the apps, the credit card number would be different in the apps as well..

vin_ann yup I noticed that the pending new activation is in green and I received the pin and pay card via poslaju
