Why not? The 2nd gen Kia Carnival already came with a 5 speed auto with shifttronic. The new Sonata has a 6 speed auto.

Looks awesome but I'll always wait for someone to buy this and wait for him to sell his car before I buy.

Seems like the Korean product offering are way better than the Japanese. Now all they need are a lengthy warranty period (5~10yrs) & great customer service feedback and they'll be number 1.

I'm sure if every owner gives a thumbs up and recommendation, surely people would buy. The more you see them on the road, the more people would perceive it's a good product or welcomed vehicle. Everyone always want someone else to be the guinea pig. which is why if alot of owners bought the car and is giving thumbs up feedback, surely there will be more and more people hopping the bandwagon. Yeah, so if T has good track records of reliability, but with K or H coming around offering 5 years of piece of mind with good after service support (i know alot of people are cursing on T & H service centers) people would opt for the best.

wow if the 2.0 can be priced at 98k i think we will start seeing this alot on our road. the previous version of kia and hyundai to be honest nothing is great about the car except for cheap imported cars. But today started with Forte, and this Avante 2011, we will start buying design and equipments/features and not brand.

Last time hyundai and kia design < toyota and honda design.

despite it's cheap but loss at design. So many opted for T and H.

Today,

Hyundai Kia design > toyota and honda.

I tell you, you can start seeing the grow of H and K cars on the road.

Malaysia just very wierd, i believe the looks of the car is the 1st priority and Hyundai and Kia made the right choice. Forte is getting more and more on the road. My office building got 5 fortes already. and I see 1 new vios and 1 or 2 new city only.

With the GDI tecnology invented, i wonder this word " That's no replacement for displacement " can be used anymore. This engine can delivers 140 PS and 167Nm of torque which equivalent to a 1.8 Civic.

the center panel of the interior doesn't look nice. and the air cond vents seem small for the middle too..

of course as not as good as sonata.

The center air cond vents seem to be located too low.

Looks good indeed BUT I'll wait till this car arrives in KL before I make my judgement. In addition to that their engines might not even come to Malaysia due to our shitty fuel quality. We might just get the previous gen engines haha

If i not mistaken GDI min requirement is min RON96, so RON97 should be no problem. Hopefully SD will bring in this baby without decrease the specification.

On paper the Forte surely loses. People forget the Forte, despite being released in late 2009/early 2010, is actually a year 2009 car. How to compare with the Elantra which is 2 years more advanced with newer Hyundai-Kia goodies?

However it's hard to say until the Elantra is officiallly released.

If 1.6 Avante vs 1.6 Forte sure Avante win lerr.
1. GDI engine vs MPI engine ( in term of torque & housepower also loss )
2. 6 speed gearbox vs 4 speed gearbox

Other spec like car weight did not specifly on Avante yet, this is the main factor power to weight ratio.

U are wrong. Actually Sime Darby mysia bought the new fiesta with powershift dual clutch gearbox which is only for the asian markets and possiblity for US as well. There is no powershift offered to UK markets.

So basically we got a better version of new ford fiesta compared to the one in UK. It is also well priced.

I really do hope to see the new elantra but seeing hyundai mysia screw up the i30 pricing, i think it should be around 90-100k.

just like vios e spec, base car price is 56K, plus excise duty and tax 23K, plus 2K for insurance, become 81K...
why we still need to pay 23K for gov? and now they slowly stop subsidizing the ron97 petrol, on the other way round, they should slowly cut down the excise duty... let ppl hav cheaper car and expensive petrol, not expensive petrol and expensive car...
the excise duty should around 15%, not 40-50% of the car price...

damn love our gov and nap... bravo malaysia!

My friend who work for Hyundai told me that they are targeting to launch this car by Q2. They are trying to bring down the price as well!I will most likely get this car! I will do test drive on the current Avante soon:)

in Korea, this car come with automatic parking system, but mostly will cut when bring into Malaysia...

bring it ehh, i also waiting. hope they don't do stupid thing, take out rare disc brake and replace by drum brake, ICE with gps navigation take out and put those cheap led display, this that all reduce and sell at 85k for 1.6 damm lor like that...haha

i guess most msian car dealers got no choice because with all full feature on....it would probably be overpriced

I don't think they will take out the rear disc brake but is very hard to say for the ICE...but if the new avante comes with 1.6GDI, that will be the best, hope they don't change it to another engine.

Avante 2011 model almost similar design with current Sonata, but can't afford one yet..

since no idea when is this coming out, and can't wait anymore, so i just bought the current version for slightly below 82k...

overall, great car, love the MDPS or EPS, space is great, and the price for 2.0 car.. it's simply awesome..
