QUOTE(cybermaster98 @ Dec 14 2010, 10:57 AM) Its definitely coming. How can Hyundai not bring in a car which for the 1st time is capable of competing with the Altis and Civic and also challenge the Forte? Hyundai delay the Avante because of the bad sales record for the current version. Most of the Malaysian when buying something, first they will look for the brand first, then only price, design....! Just take the current Sonata as an example, they said the sales is really good, but until now, I only saw 2 Sonatas, other than that none! I think Hyundai also don't want to disturb the Kia Forte sales, which currently doing pretty good for Korean car.

Seems like you guys not really understand how is the automotive market going, especially in Malaysia. Hyundai will not rushing to bring in the Avante just because of gorgeous look and a lot of people give good comments. They have to think how they can clear all the current Avante. And what is the price level the new Avante should be priced? RM100K, 90K, 80K??? If in between RM100K, Hyundai know they can't beat the Altis, Civic and Sylphy, don't even think about the Proton Inspira. If RM90K, it will be eating the Kia Forte current market which doesn't make any sense for Hyundai to do this, they better leave it that way as long as Kia Forte can get good sales. RM80K, no way, in this price range, they hardly can make profit out there so they will think twice whether really need to "hard sell" the Avante? And one more thing is the commitment for the Hyundai Korea, if Sime Darby really decide to launch the Avante, the Korean sure will need Sime Darby to commit certain quantity, which Sime Darby have to think twice.

QUOTE(sochaiapk @ Dec 15 2010, 11:19 AM) The current Civic 1.8 is 115k and if the 1.8 Avante is price 20k lower it will be 95k which will be just nice. But having said that, the Sonata which is competing against the Accord is less than 10k cheaper in the 2.0l segment which makes me thing that the Avante is very likely to be just above 100k. We can hope only that Sime pricing structure will change by the time they launch Avante next year. Yes, I agree what you said about the Civic, but how about the Inspira?

For me, now I'm waiting for the electric car, to save our planet and save fuel and money, electric car is the only way! Combustion engine, no matter how, it won't save you much fuel due the power lost inside the engine and also the transmission!

I think last month the TG magazine did calculate the electricity vs Petrol price, and the electricity is way lower than petrol by a quite large margin. So I think EV is good to our planet earth (less pollution). And for the FCV, I don't think this technology is suitable, as like last time Honda keep pushing the FCV with a lot of advertisements and found those celebrities to drive the FCV, until Nissan announced the Leaf, then most of the major car manufaturers starting to talk about EV. FCV is just too dangerous.

Does anyone tested the Inspira 1.8 fc? This car is also using CVT gearbox. And Nissan Sylphy 2.0 can get 17km/l ++ on highway drive!!

That Civic is the old body with new front and rear, that should not be called new Civic at all, I'll only call this FL. Honda is getting boring nowadays with their design.

QUOTE(sunnyckh @ Jan 18 2011, 07:57 PM) how much at least my salary and bank statement to buy this car? i wan to buy without guarantor...tq I think at least you need to have a basic salary of RM4K and above plus RM30K cash in hand for downpayment and remaining for emergency use! My calculation, maybe some people got less salary and cash in hand, still able to buy.

QUOTE(caddilac @ Mar 18 2011, 12:24 PM) Source from Singapore indicating that the Avante will feature Dual CVVT with 130hp... Although it is still a Gamma engine but it will not be the same as Forte... Added on March 18, 2011, 12:26 pmGDi requirement is to have cleaner fuel... Our fuel only Euro 2M so even if you have Ron99 also cannot be used... And GDi engine is too expensive for them to bring in and it will become uncompetitive in term of pricing... Hyundai trying to cut back the Kia sales, funny!

If compare with the Singapore price, this all new Avante should be around RM75-80K for 1.6 version, but I don't think 1.6 will be available in Malaysia because it will directly kill the Forte sales!

QUOTE(lelynx @ May 11 2011, 11:33 AM) Kia is under Naza Hyundai mainly by Sime Darby no crash of interest here my guess on SD marketing... they *may* bring in... 1.6 - new Accent in the future (finger crossed) 1.6 & 1.8 - new Avante 2.0 and 2.4 for Sonata market At here yes, no crash at all, but in term of HyundaiKia group, they will try anything they could to avoid to fight each other in between Hyundai and Kia.

The 1.6 with 127HP is the GDi engine if I'm not mistaken.

If the price is around RM85K for 1.8, then it really a good buy, probably can kill the Forte sales as well.

Actually I starting to find that the Hyundai design a bit weird now, especially when saw one new Elantra in Singapore. whenever see a Sonata passing by, I really dislike the front design, it has lost the freshness when it was launched.

This car selling price in Singapore is very near to Japanese rivals, so don't expect it will be cheaper at here.
