I second that. The Sonata is not priced competitively to break into the D segment which is almost monopoly by Accord and Camry.
If they price the 1.8 Avante 10k cheaper than the 1.8 Civic, which one most people here will buy, very obvious is it.

I agree with ur 1st part.
But on the 2nd part, I still feel Malaysians are a little narrow minded and not very daring risk takers. My parents are exactly like that. I believe if the price difference is only going to be 10k, correct me if i'm wrong, but a lot of Malaysians would much rather fork out that additional 10k to have a Honda or Toyota. Well, but not me. I've already made up my mind i want this 1.6 Avante... unless it's gonna cost like >100k or something la. haha!

14.2km/L is very poor fuel consumption? Are u sure u know what it means?  shocking.gif

For instance, a Toyota Vios has a 42L fuel tank. So with a fuel consumption of 14.2km/L, a full tank can easily take the Vios almost 600km. And u say this is very poor? If that is considered very poor then a good rating would be about 20km/L giving a total full tank mileage of 840km. This means that a full tank on a Vios can take you from Singapore to Haadyai???  rclxub.gif

Well said. I would have this, but notice a lot of ppl have already answered that question. My stupid saga BLM has trouble doing even 13km/L on the highway. Personally, i think with a 1.6l engine and relatively small size, this Hyundai would do better than 14.2km/L.

That Civic is the old body with new front and rear, that should not be called new Civic at all, I'll only call this FL.  Honda is getting boring nowadays with their design.

Haha! Toyota even more boring la! But then again, Toyota always has a market, because they know the more mature generation will prefer something the looks the age.

Cars are a losing commodity. Commit to a house first. If you dont have a property, then dont bother about driving expensive cars. If you already have a property, then i would only advise you to think about this car (with a max 5 yr loan) if ure earning at least RM 12K a month. Dont bite off more than you can chew no matter how good looking the car is.

Agreed, agreed. On top of your advice, the prices of cars are artificial in this country in the first place.
