Wow, already version 7.
Spent the whole weekend adding Album Art for my MP3s and still not finished! Very frustrating!  Encountered some problems though, I was Syncing my phone and iTunes (for about 2.5 GB of songs) and I left it. However, when I came back to check, there was an error message stating my phone timed out, unable to transfer/sync cause phone could not be found. After that, I installed the Insomnia application thinking it would help, but same thing. I plugged the phone directly using USB. Is there a difference syncing via USB only or syncing with the Dock? Looks like there's alot more "work" to be done here..... lots of reading, familiarization. Good thing the iPhone is fun! |

apparently that guy upgraded and no carrier is visible after that i tried restoring and iliberty but still even putting an active sim inside just give me a No service sign..any idea guys? |

Hi all, i am having problems with my iPhone, currently running on 1.1.4. I started out with 1.1.3, and i installed PYSL, after which i uninstalled and it crashed my phone. I was at wits end then, so i restored and upgraded to 1.1.4.
Now, the problem is that the applications (such as BSD Subsystem, Summerboard) and files are still in my phone, but i can't seem to uninstall or reinstall them. Can anyone help me so that i can start off "clean" again, without all the installed apps? Thanks in advance. |

I was wondering, if we text alot for example with our girlfriend... while waiting for her reply can I just press the Sleep/Wake button while in the bubble chat menu? And when I Slide To Unlock, I'll be back in the menu and just use the keyboard back. Possible?

Any chance the current gen iPhones will have A2DP support? I'm thinking to get a stereo headset but i'll need a separate bluetooth dongle. And even so, i don't get to use the headset fully - eg: fwd, backward button on the headset.

it's like people in here are afraid to try out things themselves. Always wanna ask people. Come on people ... explore and explore. Don't just wait to be spoon-fed. Question like 'How to edit info in itunes' also need to be asked here? Izzit so hard to play around with itunes and discover its functions? This V7 thread just been created like yesterday and already amount to 3 pages. I think its easier to click 'Add Reply' than 'Search Topic'.

Yeah, play around with iTunes. I just cut and paste album covers from Amazon.com and if I can't find it there I google & google till I find the damn artwork I want!

Pardon my newbie question, I'm getting an iphone soon but I have a few doubts:
- I've read about this "bootloader 4.6" is not unlockable by any method now. Is it still true or will Ziphone takes care of it? How do you determine if your iphone comes with 4.6 or not? - Would it be advisable for me to purchase an unlocked iphone, upgrade it to 1.1.4 and unlock it myself with Ziphone? |

if u got 4.6, u can downgarde it to 3.9 too... how to check ur bootloader ? Alternatively, you can purchase those iTunes card ($10USD, $20USD) and use it to create a new account (create a new AOL ID using any e-mail address you want).
That's what I did to get my iTunes account created (while at that, you can purchase some songs too lol) |

as for another problem. when i was adding new contact, there is no Malaysia to select, even though i have install that regional patch thing, and i already set international to malay-> malaysia. |

recently i get 'main script execution failed' error during installation of certain apps, including the reinstallation of BSD subsys. how often u guys got iphone hang? mine was hang once few days ago after hanging up an incoming call.
guys, till today my usage and standby still the same. i guess just ignore it, but on average, i have 2days b4 it needs to charge. The answer is simple, do you use 3G? If yes then wait for new iPhone with 3G or if you don't, then just get the current generation iPhone. Seriously, Malaysians should educate themselves more about 3G, they always want a phone with 3G but they don't fully utilize the feature. It's just because of the another new technology that makes us want a 3G phone, not the usage.

any program tat can clean up d iPhone temporary Internet files n cookies, or anything like ppc sktool? If not if browse 2 much its gonna slow d phone down. I open 3 windows just now n fringe, it hang after a while. Thx.

Guys, I installed some of the level packs for iPhysics and the game as well. I don't like it so I uninstalled all of the iPhysics stuff. I'm pretty sure some of the folders are still in my iPhone memory so how do I clear out all the unused folders and crap?

hi guys, just wanted to double check with you guys on a function,
the other day i couldn't get my iphone to wake up after you have put it to sleep by clicking on the button on the top of the phone (sorry my terminology is very bad, newbie). Normally you juist press the "home" button to wake it up and then slide to unlock, but when i press the home button nothing happens. the weird thing is only when i charge my phone on the charger, then i can wake thephone up. And its not the battery fault cause i have charged it the whole night and battery bar is full, but it still happens. So i hit kinda restarted the phone and my problem is solved. weird... anyway, i just wanna check with you guys on the ipod function. When i play a song currently, and want to stop it, i just hit the "pause" button. if i then hit the back arrow button to go back to the artist or songs selection page, it still has the "Now playing" button on the top right and the little speaker icon next to the song i was playing which normally shows what song is currently playing. I'm sorry i think i'm just so darn paraniod after my incident above, but is this normal? Because i seem to can't remember this happening before my incidient above. But it can be just me being scared. so guys can i just dbl check if the "Now playing" and speaker icon to still be there after you have paused a song? Any other ways to stop a song in a iphone? Any help to calm me down willl be helpful thanks guys really appreciate it. |

ive downloaded and installed SummerBoard v3.2 and downloaded some themes from installer but when i go to select themes from SMBPrefs, there is none theme there i even SSH some themes into the theme folder still cant find any theme any help |

Guys, got a question. Let say I added a source in my Installer, then after refresh the sources I delete the sources I added back then... then refresh back again the sources. Will the sources that I've deleted still be in the refresh sources that are currently in the source list or it's gone?

hey guys...
got few question i wanna ask.. hope u all can help me.. everytime i create a ringtone using iphone ringtone maker the quality is very very bad... ( got loud distortion n breaking sounds) i din boost the ringtone quality at all.. so hope u guys can share any tips to help me such as how many bitrate,hz,mono or stereo settings. ty |

ok now, im planning to get my hand on the iphone probably on early may next week.
will it suite me? cos im a heavy sms user and usually im text messaging almost 120+ msg in just 1 day and 1 thing, heard that the 2nd gen iphone will be around the corner. should i or should i not wait for it? |

i tried the mms setting, i have 4 mms which i can't open. it says :
failed to connect to proxy : connect failed could not fetch any mms check your setting but i key in everything as shown. |

Hey there, i have just got myself an Iphone from Carphone Warehouse today, the problem is that once i have plug it into my computer the itunes application pops out and start asking me to register with o2 in order for me to use it. I know that i shouldn't be registering it at the moment before unlocking the phone.
My problem now is that how do i bypass the activation thingy and prepare it for software installation such as Iliberty and Ziphone. I have followed the tutorials from this website http://iphone.unlock.no/. But to no avail, my iphone just couldn't bypass the activation. hmmm............wanna know how to increase the software application storage space?? they only allocate 300mb la...now left 7mb and it keep prompting me

Thx for all the replies, i have successfully unlock my phone now, damn, i accidentally dropped my phone luckily it hit my leg and fell into my drawer. Phew, i have just ordered the invisible shield from amazon.
I screwed up big time during the first attempt of unlocking it with Iliberty, but the restore mode does the magic for me and the 2nd attempt works perfectly fine as i have updated it into 1.1.4 firmware which i did not do during the first attempt. |

i really need help i cant send out mms ive already put in the settings for maxis but it still prompt me the settings is wrong on top of my screen there is a big E display. am i missing on anythg??? by the way, how do i set a song as my ring tone?? sorry for bothering u guys but im a noob here pls all the sifu help me thx in advance |

Yes, go to Installer and find something called 'Kb'. It'll add a setting in your Keyboard setting so you can turn English dictionary on or off. Typing Malay language is convenient with this.

1 thing I notice and maybe consider as a bug. When you take a picture, let say picture A. Then you go into your photo library and delete it. When you dock your iPhone and connect to iTunes.. it actually display in yellow in the capacity bar that I actually have a photo around example 700kb but I've deleted that. Weird..

Hie there, i have managed to unlock my iphone with Iliberty yesterday, but once it is done, i realized that my "Settings Icon" is gone and were no where to be found? Has it been hide automatically? I have got no idea as to where to re-locate it, i have searched through over in google and i can't seem to find a solution for it?

I don't know about you all but when I'm outside, I rarely use any of the apps like YouTube, Stocks, Maps, Weather, Mail, Safari, and iTunes or other third party apps that use requires data network cause it's pretty pricey to use all of these apps via GPRS/EDGE. Only rely on home WiFi network and free public hotspots to access all that apps. What about you guys? Using postpaid or plans?

If u can manage with just home wifi and public hotspots then i don't see any use for an unlimited data plan from postpaid. If u r a net addict and need to be connected all the time and no public hotspot in sight, then u better subscribe for an unlimited data plan. Pay as U Use is still very expensive even if u occasionally use it.
For me ... I got an unlimited data plan from Digi courtesy from my company. Free internet all the way. Muahahahahahahahaahahaha. |

how come my google map locating feature doesnt work is it something to do with the unable selection of the fakeblank thing when you perform the unlock? ------- vWallpaper cant find my own mp4 videos for no reason. i actually have a few videos which re nicer than fireworks. anyone can help? thx |

About the iVirusScan, it's an app from McAfee. It's their beta project and still going intense development. There's a source that when you add, you're actually installing malicious codes on your iPhone. It will bring your iPhone to the circle spinning of death. Here's the source and please do not add this:

Hi, I'm new here, So whenever you guys have the older 3g sim card, just head to the Celcom branch and tell them that you want the Apple iPhone 3g sim card...and still maintain your existing unlimited broadband package. Cool isnt it ???? I need confirmation on this. (It took me 190KM to go to nearest Celcom Branch )anyone here already use the latest celcom 3g sim card for the iphone? is it working without the "trick"? Confirmation Plz.... Thankx |

Have u received my PM?? just wonder why my sent folder still empty after 2 times I send pm to you. Anyway, I got this trick from mypdacafe.com forum so the credit should goes to them. Okay, 1st step put atnt sim card or any working simcard, digi, maxis (other than celcom) n power on.. Wait till got some signal bar / no network display.. 2. Go to setting, carrier. It will search for network. (if no carier show, go back home and wait a while). wait till all 3 network found. (leave the right tick to default "automatic") 3. Press power button (put iphone on standy NOT OFF). 4. Replace the simcard with celcom. (the msg no sim will pop up.. just ignore it and just press the power button to put it on standby mode again) 5. Press power button then 'slide to unlock' You will see the network list. Choose celcom and go home.. Never enter carrier menu again. I think iphone has 1gb of 'storage' or 300MB or something like that allocated for OSX aka for the os..so the firmware can't go beyond that size. Otherwise the phone woudn't support it btw , anyone knows where to get iphone in malaysia...aka bang for the buck |

What I mean is the additional apps and features, well just guessing so maybe around 180MB. The OS itself it non-changeable and will stay around 700MB. That's why the rest of 300MB are divided to install other apps and the firmware.

RagingThunder lags & hangs when there are continuous incoming calls or msgs.
After that you cant even force quit or reset your phone. You need to wait until it reboots itself >.< ------- The update for installer is fine =) |

Horray finally my installer works.I moved all source list from installer using mobile finder and managed to fire it up than reinstalled the update and uploaded everything back in. Works like a charm
|

@fuiyo bro its actually 300mb and not 700mb. U can type 'df -h' in terminal or putty and see. The phone are devided into 2 partitions that is disk0s1 and disk0s2. The first one is for the system and the latter is media partition. The system only occupy around 250++mb and the balance would be use for swap files. Thats why we need to relocate the application folder or other folder i.e wallpaper or fonts to the media partition so we dont jammed the system partition. Apple put the application folder in the 1st partition becoz they werent expecting people to be able to install other apps rather than the stock ones only. And the next firmware size will not be that big. It will be around the other firmwares (160++mb but wont go to 200mb). Remember ... the IPSW file is in a zipped format and it can be expended more. |

There's a new app on Installer under Utilities I guess, called biteSMS and the description mentioning send normal SMS but in a cheaper price. Sounds fishy huh? Anyone tried?

Guys..
Anybody out there know where i can get an iphone fm tuner? or any program that can be used to listen to fm? There is a product sold at emachines sunway pyramid ifm from griffin but it works fine if you just listening to the radio, you cannot actually accept calls using the handsfree, btw its for ipod. Anybody got any suggestion? |

I have just installed the Longman dictionary and after the installation/download i have turn off my iphone and turn it on back but i do not see a visible icon saying Longman Dictionary? is it meant to be like that?

guys, do u have the large icon of alarm (not really alarm, like when we choose silent, there is a icon of bell with a cross on it, like wise if not silence, we have the bell w/o cross), mine just popping out now and then when using the phone, like typing sms, playing games, etc. is that normal?

For me, I refrain from playing around with the silent switch button too often. It's mechanical -> potential to fail over time if used often. Since the speaker volume of the phone is not that loud anyway, is ok la....unless got meeting once in a while.

I have recently installed the SMSD program and when i tried to open it, it crashes. So, i did some research on google and I have downloaded the SMSD.app fix application and copy it into my iphone by using WinScp, i have followed all the steps shown in Youtube but it still crashes.

I restore my iphone using iTunes.
Then i managed to unlock using iLiberty+. But now i got one problem. When i try to install some software, it will give me "Main script execution failed" Anyone know how to solve? I did run the patch tat relocate the fonts and ringtones. Is it this patch that cos the problem? I think I know the reason somehow.
I tried to install other software, and found out that it worked perfectly. Only when it come to installing dictionaries. I think somehow i patched to relocate the folders, and when it come to installing dictionaries, it cant find the correct path? All just wild guessing from me. Anyone can help out or understand wat is my problem? Any help will be much much appreciated. Thanks. |

If u want to buy it at a shop, try Digital Mall at Sec14 PJ or Pertama Complex. Last time ... llike a month a go i went to Pertama Complex and the guy there quote me RM1750 for the 8GB version. So now the price should be lower. Better still u can check in the Garage Sales.

Go to www.iphone-dev.org for some explaination on PwnageTool and www.winpwn.com for WinPwn. Firmware 2.0 is for Developer using the SDK. Its not for normal use as it have a expiry date and its very buggy. Wait few more weeks until WWDC as Apple will release the final version. |

Even my SE W810i also cannot use mms after switching to celcom postpaid plan. had my phone set up at jln ampang celcom branch, even they cannot set! had been waiting for at least 30 mins still cant get my phone setting done. pissed then just grab my phone back and left.

Still reading thru ilounge regarding the v-moda vibe and one more earphones. The reviews there give 50-50 for the v-moda. Some said it only last for a month before it get spoilt and some said its very good. So right now have to weigh everything carefully as that thing is not cheap. And might get it online if the price is cheaper than shops here. The stock earphones already mau kaput.

Hi sifus, i've been check through all the guides here regarding uploading sms tone to my precious iphone here. But the prob occurs after i transfered.
I change to format to aiff format of a song which about 3mins long and upload it to the smstone folder at /System/Library/Audio/UISounds and changed to filename to default which is either 1 of these sms-received1.caf ---> Tri-tone sms-received2.caf ---> Chime sms-received3.caf ---> Glass sms-received4.caf ---> Horn sms-received5.caf ---> Bell sms-received6.caf ---> Electronic But after i restart my phone and try the sms tone. It stuck and restarts. I was thinking is it the length of the tone is too long? Is there any software base program to make my life easier? Hope you people can help me here. thx. |

If its truly no way around it then restore will be the last resort. regarding the bolded sentence, yup, tried that either. below are the symptons i noticed on yesterday, - it become extremly lagging when i enter to Settings > Sounds - under Settings > Sounds, the volume adjustable level stays at muted - i need to manually drag the volume level, and again, very lag - changing a ringtone also lag - opening a music / video also very lag - when i press the "Play" button, a noticeable 5-seconds lag, and no sound coming out solution i tried (googled from the web) - go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings - plug in earphone and try to play a song/movie still, to no avail no choice (plus a little panic )opt for restore it |

U notice this happen after u install iphone video recorder? Thats what happen to me ... that app messed up my sound system. Then i decide to uninstall it. Maybe thats the root cause. |

no not really, installed iPhone Video Recorder for 2 days already, nothing happen.
i just lost my iphone sound on yesterday night. ha! i am wondering is there any iphone user(s) using their iphone without jailbreaking it? i have been using a jailbroken iphone for the past few weeks, now thinking for a change, not gonna jailbreak it, clean & simple |
