U can use it without jailbreaking .... if u have a ligit contract with AT&T. If u don't jailbreak, they how are u going to activate? To activate (hacktivate), we need to patch the lockdown file. Thats why when use iLiberty, the option to untick jailbreak is not possible. We can't do anything without jailbreaking. But if u jailbreak but didn't install anything, even installer than that one can la.

jailbreaking only applies if you wanna use 3rd party apps

hhhm .. if don't jailbreak , then how to use with local sim card?
use iphone without 3rd party?? .. better just use normal phone..

to use the iphone with any local sim card i.e a non-supported network provider, the correct term is "unlock"


but you first need to "activate" it before you can even play around or use the iphone as an expensive ipod touch with a camera

whopps used the term wrongly.

lemme see, ohyah, in iLiberty, there is an option to tick whether do i want to install "Installer", i didnt tick that one.

so right now my iphone is working like a normal phone but without the Installer.

hehe, now i manage to use with my Maxis 3G sim card.....but Celcom cannot.....BTW, what's the diff. between 1.1.3 and 1.1.4 firmware? izzit worth upgrading? thanks

not much, 1.1.4 is more like bug fixes to 1.1.3 without extra added features. btw it's worth upgrading as it's more stable.
better upgrade to 1.1.4, u'll notice the difference in performance. but other than that, all the features are same with 1.1.3.

yes video record did caused my iphone no sound like u guys.

i've uninstalled it and reset all setting...it back to normal now,

my advice is not to install the video recorder... bloody software...

Does anyone encounter problem with Maxis outgoing calls ? Mine keep failling even though I've tried redailing 15 times. Incoming calls and sms both way works

Also tried switching SIM Card into the iPhone but outgoing calls still fail.

iPhone was jailbroken and unlocked 1.1.3 long time ago and I didn't modify the phone at all. Was working fine yesterday.
