Am coming from a single AOC i2369v (23" 1080p ips). So, for a smoother transition I went for LG 29um57 (29" 2560 x 1080p ips). Gaming with this sucker is just awesome!

I went from Ilyama E2273HDS 22" FHD to Samsung U28D590 28" UltraHD Monitor 2 months back for RM 1800. I think its very good UHD monitor that price. I can run some games like BF4 and Project Cars at Ultra-wide 21:9 aspect ratio (using custom resolution 3840 x 1620) with letterbox top-bottom without changing the desktop resolution. Some other games like Grid series and CoD, I have to change the desktop res to 3840 x 1620 first before I can launch the games in ultrawide mode. Otherwise, the game will scale to 16:9 ratio which looks funny. Though I just leave to run at native 4K. If you budget for monitor around that price I do recommend going for UHD monitor. Watching 4K video samples and photos are just awesome. But cant beat Apple iMac with that 27" 5K 5120 x 2880 screen. Photo and images looks so real.

Toying with the idea of going down this path with a 34" ultrawide. I am currently running a GTX970 so, G-sync requirement is going to add to the cost and yes, I do game on my rig, mainly FPS type games. May start The Division soon. Any recommendations?

I just realized that most 34" monitors eg Acer X34/Z35 will take up 300mm of my table depth and investing in one will not leave me with much room for comfortable operation of the keyboard
 Options are:1. Live with the fact 2. Change tabletop (my existing is a custom made, built-in). This would involve a fair amount of "renovation" 3. Replace with custom VESA monitor stand 4. Get a wall mount with articulating arm (did I use the term correctly?). Down side to this is less "mobility" compared to #3 above Both #3 and #4 above will more or less maintain the status quo ie take up 150-180 mm ,which is more or less my current setup. Any thoughts or suggestions? I managed to locate a company that carries custom monitor stands and have a decent selection of wall mounts called Antsys. Am sure a visit to shops like AllIT or Harvey Norman may offer up some choices too |

I'm waiting to see if anything interesting is revealed/launched during next week's Computex. If nothing, may pull the trigger for X34 or maybe wait for X34A. The latter is just with stand that has swivel feature.

Assembly and setup. Asus ROG Swift PG348Q Ultrawide 3440x1440 100Hz G-Sync.
 The back of this monitor is more beautiful than any of my previous monitors from the front.  All the separate parts requiring assembly.  The successor at the bottom. The predecessor at the top. PG348Q 3440x1440 replacing XB280HK 3840x2160. A downgrade in resolution but a huge upgrade in screen real estate.  The all-seeing eye. do you guys get any fish-eye effect in these ultrawide monitors?.
since the introduction of widescreen monitor (16:9), i've noticed almost every 1st & 3rd person shooter game has serious fish eye effect on the left and right side of the display. anything goes wider at the side, which really turns me off. in movies, 21:9 is captured properly with no fish-eye effect. in gaming, anything that's not 4:3 or 5:4 has fish-eye effect. After one/two years of itch and consideration, I've decided to join #ultrawidemasterrace
Currently aiming Acer Predator X34 for that ultrawide experience with 100Hz G-sync. Second choice Z35. Only concern now is my GTX970 might only capable of 40-70fps with most game on X34's resolution. So I'm invest to future now and hopefully upgrade GPU next year to truly enjoy it.See if Lazada & Gemfive got good deal or not |

Didn't like the X34 because of the stand design makes wires visible. Minor gripe with the backside of X34 for the glossy, fingerprint magnet finish, although can really see it unless you look from the back.

Any framerate within the G-sync window you get the G-sync benefit, outside of that window your system switches either to V-sync or no V-sync.
So if your G-sync monitor is rated up to 100Hz, get your frame rate from 35-100fps, any framerate higher than 100fps, your system switches to V-sync. V-sync introduced input lag, and halves the visible framerate. No V-sync? Hello tearing! With all that in mind, you want to run your games with a lower fps than the panel refresh maximum, to stay within the G-sync window for it to take effect. If you have G-sync 60Hz panel, then run it below 60Hz, no point lowering resolution or image quality to get it screaming at 80 90 100 fps because you then lose the benefit of G-Sync. Same goes to whatever refresh rate other G-sync monitor uses: 60/75/100/144/165Hz, etc. |

Enabling GSync make ur fps will be capped at the highest refresh rate of ur monitor. If 100hz, then fps will be 100fps top, it will not go beyond it but if lower then there is no problem, GSync will follow the rate.. GSync used to synchronize monitor with gc, and this is great coz its will wipe out the tearing n stuttering, and its not like VSync that will make ur movement delayed which is annoying.

This is really cheap even with the shipping price, with 6% gst the most add another rm150. Sifu-sifu, is there something wrong? Why is people not buying from amazon? Malaysia ultrawide cheapest is 3.8k - 4k .. |

Already 3 weeks since I ordered X34 and it's not even send. Bought from Lazada, not sure it Lazada sucks or Acer sucks big time.
One week after I ordered, Lazada called me claimed it's pre-order and I straight away shot them back for lying. Lazada/Acer update the title for the item to include ( pre-order ETA 25th July ) massive speechless. If no stock, stop allowing user to order then , dont la call later and give reason |

if you consider buying 1080p on screen higher than 24" ; please go to the shop first and see the actual screen with text ; desktop icon etc first..
almost bought a 28" 1080p thinking its cheaper / value for money compared those 24" 1080p... but when actually see the screen, you can significantly tell that the image on those 28" is blur |

Yesterday go TopMaid and grab this babe
 Box tall as hell, also huge and heavy. I got few bruise over fingers as I was stubborn enough to carry the box myself from car to home, should have call my brother to help.  Still glossy finish but dont care as it's behind.  Headset stand.  The swivel mechanism.  |

Well.. There's a 60Hz Curved WQHD 3440x1440 FreeSync monitor for RM3100

Just a little small review here, bought Crossover 75hz 344QP 2560 x 1080 res from ebay. I realize a lot of people not getting 1080 due to everyone suggesting 1440p. It is not pixelated or unreadable words like I thought, if you have doubts.. go to a near retail and check out 27" .. if you can accept it then its pretty much the same thing in ultrawide. It came with quite bad colour bleed but when you turn brightness to 0 while contrast up.. the decrease A LOT till unnoticeable. Its stand looks like the x34 but its pretty low height so you can't really see the back.. there is no tilt & height adjustment which is bad but overall I'm pretty satisfied with everything. I got the monitor for rm19xx which is almost half the price of x34.. half the res half the price? haha. Feel free to ask any questions (:

Yes im going for that as well. Maybe if, the X34P panel somehow can be OCed further beyond 100Hz, I'd sell the X34A at a loss and get it, otherwise, maybe just keep the 34A. waiting for the slight improvements for months is definitely not worth my time.
Mafia 3 is coming out somemore. And been holding on from playing Witcher 3 just to experience it on UW. |

Eh the one that people complain the most about ghosting is actually IPS.
I used to game on my 25ms IPS monitor, I don't feel an issue so till date I don't see why people complain ghosting. And I play fast-paced games like Overwatch. |

I've had some really weird issues with HDMI cables before and had to spent a bit of money changing cables. End up using DP cable instead and voila, works perfectly. I prefer DP cable too cos it supports higher refresh rates. If ur graphics card supports DP, go for DP. Just my 2 cent. |

i do a lot of web browsing and watching videos. used to game on ps4, now thinking of coming back to PCmasterrace. I'm not worried about gaming at 1080p 21:9. My question is, does anyone have experience using a 34inch 2560 x 1080 monitor. I do open multiple windows of word documents or images but not for editing. only for viewing.
many sites say 1080p 34 inch ultrawide monitor is not good enough for productivity. But seems like their productivity is excel worksheets and video/3d editing (i do none of that). For my productivity, i do word editing, Powerpoint and lots of surfing... Currently using a 21.5 inch acer with 1600x 900 pixels. The size of the icons etc are OK for me, but yes, i can see some grainy-ness in text. |

I used to play with Dell UltraSharp U3415W PXF79 34-Inch curved widescreen monitor. It is 34'' curved widescreen monitor. Amazing feeling.

Just got a LG 29UM68. Anyone having the same model mind to share your color settings? I'm comparing it side by side to my Dell S2340L and pretty disappointed with the LG monitor.
Not sure if it's due to the low resolution 2560 x 1080 on a wide screen or maybe due to the matte screen compared to the dell glossy screen. The color just look so pale and uninviting. Is 29" Curved Ultrawide a thing? how much I should expect? all i see is LG 29UC97C which is above 2.2k, kinda steep.
Is curve for ultrawide neccessary, LG 29UM68 pricing looks quite good. Hope to hear some opinions. |

EDIT: Curve and no curve actually does not have a lot of differences. It helps in viewing angle and better aesthetic only. But I was aiming for at least 1440p curve ultrawide with g-sync which cost like a nuclear bomb It's in the 3-4k price range.
