QUOTE(skylinelover @ May 27 2016, 06:52 AM) when picking up new GTX1080 to power the new baby 1080Ti/Titan Pascal or bust. I might even go single card if it can sustain 4K60.

Assembly and setup. Asus ROG Swift PG348Q Ultrawide 3440x1440 100Hz G-Sync. The back of this monitor is more beautiful than any of my previous monitors from the front. All the separate parts requiring assembly. The successor at the bottom. The predecessor at the top. PG348Q 3440x1440 replacing XB280HK 3840x2160. A downgrade in resolution but a huge upgrade in screen real estate. The all-seeing eye. Everything maximum at 3440x1440 running at 85-90fps inside, and in excess of 100fps on outdoor levels. QUOTE(richard912 @ Jun 5 2016, 07:55 AM) Wow! The PG348Q is now available in Malaysia? Mind sharing the "damage"? Your setup is SLI? Singapore. SGD1930. Three Titan X in Tri-SLI. Or I could plug this into the GTX1080.

Went to Ikea just now, and built myself a makeshift shelf that turns out well. Using Ekby Jarpen shelf and 8 Capita legs. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Setup is finished, this is its final form. Lights on. Everything off. Lights off. Everything on. Didn't like the X34 because of the stand design makes wires visible. Minor gripe with the backside of X34 for the glossy, fingerprint magnet finish, although can really see it unless you look from the back. Panel quality is virtually the same. This bangsawan loves the PG348Q because he likes that ROG logo projector, the back design, the menu system with joystick. *I should be wearing my bangsawan title like a badge of honor * This post has been edited by stringfellow: Jun 29 2016, 07:24 PM

QUOTE(Someonesim @ Jun 29 2016, 08:09 PM) That X34's base took up so much space are really annoying. Found one owner with the exact same table as mine, and he said the base cant even fit the table ( as below ). I plan to remove the riser completely. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Yup. A 32" moving hand stand/riser works nice and clean. I love that if you use these type of stands the monitor looked like its floating. Very very clean look.

Any framerate within the G-sync window you get the G-sync benefit, outside of that window your system switches either to V-sync or no V-sync.
So if your G-sync monitor is rated up to 100Hz, get your frame rate from 35-100fps, any framerate higher than 100fps, your system switches to V-sync. V-sync introduced input lag, and halves the visible framerate. No V-sync? Hello tearing!
With all that in mind, you want to run your games with a lower fps than the panel refresh maximum, to stay within the G-sync window for it to take effect. If you have G-sync 60Hz panel, then run it below 60Hz, no point lowering resolution or image quality to get it screaming at 80 90 100 fps because you then lose the benefit of G-Sync. Same goes to whatever refresh rate other G-sync monitor uses: 60/75/100/144/165Hz, etc.

QUOTE(Someonesim @ Jun 30 2016, 10:38 AM) I used to thought G-sync monitor are above 60Hz, but these day's research then only know apparently there's 60Hz 4K g-sync monitor. Are you saying that even with G-sync enabled, if framerate goes beyond G-sync monitor's max frequency, it will drop G-sync ? Then potentially tearing will reoccur eventhough we might not capable of seeing it with our eyes at such high framerate. The monitor caps it, but the effects are not as noticeable, because the refresh rate is so high. Personally, I strive to get as close as possible to the monitor's refresh rate, but even if I'm not willing to drop settings to get 100fps on my monitor, G-Sync still works even at, let's say, 35-40fps (because you enabled all Max settings, and your framerate tanks). The misconception is that, "of that fps is so low, sure will not be smooth", when I posted fps data, but people who have never tried G-sync has that misconception anyway because in reality, on their own non-G-Sync monitors, that is what happens, stuttery laggy mess at 35-40fps. Not with G-sync.

QUOTE(Skylinestar @ Jul 1 2016, 11:24 PM) during in-game cut-scene/cinematic, is it presented in 16:9 with pillar box or stretched to 21:9? Yes. But snaps back to 21:9 in-game.

Nope, nothing of that sort. That sounded like the monitor was switching between input only?
