1.5k can only buy you the LG, AOC or RM300 more philips

but 29inch 2560X1080 ultra wide is not great, it's like a 23inch screen only wider..you gain horizontal but lose vertical, 34 inch is the sweet size but these cost alot of money

with this budget if me i will add few hundreds more get a 27 1440p or go all out get a 34 inch ultrawide

Thanks for the opinion..which is true. I might wait a while and see what is coming soon. It's not like my current monitor is dying wink.gif
*
or a 32inch 1440p like benq BL3200PT, best compromise? big and not 1080p

but don't have gsync/freesync or high refresh rate all that, so it's more of a productivity monitor than for gaming

Spend a little more for Gsync if you are using Nvidia. you wont regret it as I did. Unless you can get used xr342ck for cheaper. xr342ck resale value is very low due to low demand, so will be a problem if you want to sell later.
*
QUOTE(soul_fly9900 @ Jul 31 2017, 03:11 PM)
Also for that price not really that far off from your current budget. Its not a big price jump like going from Acer to Asus ultrawide. Resist the temptation a bit for a few months, keep collecting the money just a little bit more for the X34A instead.
*
i dont game much thats why i dont really care much on gsync and freesync, but who knows maybe later i wanna gaming again and regret laugh.gif

i guess either go big get x34a or dont bother at all with ultrawide tongue.gif

as i was researching y'day just sad to see how limited choice we have here

Will support X34ck ( free sync ) IF price are much lower, RM800 are not enough to justify missing g-sync, lower refresh rate ( 75MHz ). Try monitor 11street or Lazada for discount code or coupon.
After using Predator X34A, the extra premium definitely worth it ( should have higher resell value also )
*
you got your point, RM800 in RM4K is not that big of a difference and gets a much better monitor

any other new UW coming soon? or we wont be getting anything new because of the obvious reason

Sad case for msian, there's quite some affordable option from LG, but I think most not available here.

I think official selling, possible to get cheaper option from Dell, but not sure how much.
*
i check LG site not here they have 34inch models 3440X1440 no fancy tech like $600 to 800 but not available here..sad really

also check lazada, acer store giving RM150 discount until today but sadly not on X34

dell only have U3415W for us here, RM3699 but dell again..im just sick of dell after staring at a dell monitor for many years now lol

In fairness to the agents, I saw a Tariff with 30% tax for LED online. I should have known?!?!?! bangwall.gif  However, other computer parts such as Videocards, Processors, etc, they only charge 6% GST. I checked it as well. It's probably a discretion of the Customs agent. There are forumers in LYN who got only 6% GST. Guess I ain't lucky huh?  cry.gif Guess i'm the guinea pig for all those people who are planning to buy a monitor outside MY. To know more about the Tariff, you can click here.
*
some ppl can be lucky i know i dont have any lucky, if not early i buy these korean monitor already..get tax like that not that worth anymore

now forget it and enjoy your monitor smile.gif

Gsync only good for gaming, right?  I m semi retired from gaming already. More into video editing stuff maybe which I think no difference 144hz or 60hz.

The U3818dw is similar specs to LG UC38 I think plus better connectivity but without Freesync 75hz and Bluetooth audio. I saw U3818dw spec sheet, it can actually run 85hz but not officially maybe.
*
you are like me haha not gaming much but want a nice monitor so panel quality is more important than other feature

U3818DW panel same as LG UC38 just some differences but LG not available here and for dell can buy it now

buy from a guy here teng_08..cheaper at RM5.8K laugh.gif

but this is nothing compare to the upcoming x35 and asus, HDR..FALD plus 200Hz..imagine the price sweat.gif

QUOTE(Cynox @ Aug 1 2017, 02:18 PM)
haha...yes, big screen is more important than high refresh rate for me.  But just saw the Viewsonic VX3211 (IPS 2560x1440) in the other LCD monitor thread.  At only RM1,299, really strike me hard - so damn cheap!!  Buy 3 to form 3-monitor setup only RM3,897.  laugh.gif

I think ultra-wide in comparison still not mainstream yet, I will just get the VX3211 and wait another 3 years. By then 40 inch ultrawide 21:9 144Hz WQHD IPS panel maybe just RM3k or less.  tongue.gif
It is consider "cheap" actually if you compared to LG 38UC99.  biggrin.gif
*
if 3 separate screen is good for the work you do then you can consider that, the viewsonic is a very value for money monitor but thats about it..just dont expect super great things from it

for video editing work you wont go wrong with dell ultrasharp also these ultrawide or you can consider monitor like "coming soon" viewsonic VP2768

ultrawide also wont drop price but will only go up haha, it's a niche product for enthusiast and more added feature means more expensive

found LG 34UC98-W at lelong RM3999 LG

lingloong or dotatech selling XR-342CK for RM3655 ACER

Yes, i did some research and come out with this few model shortlisted too. But 34 ultra-wide like not big enough.  blush.gif

Thanks for the info on X35 and Asus PG35VQ, more reason to buy a cheap monitor like VX3211 to use temporary (my Dell U3014 just died Sunday) innocent.gif

I actually dun do work at home, the computer just a leisure comp, so not intended to setup 3-monitors, too overskill for me.  biggrin.gif  38" Ultrawide is also overkill but it is awesome looking, so i can bear with it.  laugh.gif
*
why not dual ultrawide tongue.gif

just saw this..X34A RM4369 brows.gif X34A

Like that I think you should get a 4K monitor, still cheaper than ultrawide 34", but you get sharp display, edit photo nicer. I had some trouble editing photo on my X34A, dpi a bit low.

VX3211 size + resolution = disappointment  whistling.gif
Hahaha, that 38" are same price as 34" asus  doh.gif
*
1440p 32inch still alright, ppi same as 23inch 1080p..32inch with 1080p this really doh.gif

4K 32inch is also nice, but then everything would be small right?

asus = no thanks from me..super premium price here

VA to IPS or vice versa is more of a preference. Some like deep blacks/contrast of the VA but personally for me, IPS has better colors. PG348Q is damn expensive! So X34a is better value in my opinion and performance I guess is similar or of little difference. I heard that Z35 will only be available 4th Quarter 2017 in the ASEAN region. Saw it in Acer Singapore's FB page.
*
actually Z35P looks interesting, review from those who bought it is also good..at least acer did a better job than AOC and HP using the same panel..there is even a recall for HP omen X35 for flickering issue

because X34A now dropped to like RM4.4K im thinking of buying, but Z35P looks like a good VA gaming monitor

Custom issue is just go to post office and get it.
Customs usually just 6% GST and usually customer pay around RM200 nia.

QUOTE(drunkonpiss @ Aug 3 2017, 08:04 PM)
Here's my quick review on the Crossover 3412UM.

My goal towards gaming is always graphics-centered and immersion that's why I bought the monitor.

The base is ripped out of the pages of Acer Predator haha! It still looks cool tho. Frames are brushed aluminum and sturdy. Don't expect too much on the fine details of it as there are edges that are uneven but it's no deal breaker. It may be just from the manufacturing. The monitor doesn't swivel however, it can still tilt until 90 degrees maybe? As for the colors, it may use the same panel AHIPS panel of LG. Coming from an LG monitor, the colors are very similar but you have to use and configure the settings according to your preference. One of the best things I like about the monitor is that you can OC it to 95hz with ease! No frame skipping and the frames are seamless when I did the test. Much better performance than my LG monitor. Another thing that I like is that it's cheap! I only paid RM 2,200 minus tax. If you're luck enough it'll be RM 2,400 in total  shocking.gif Awesome Deal!

Comparing it to my LG29UM68p monitor, am I happy, yes. am I satisfied, maybe. Am I impressed, No. The reason for those answers is that I thought jumping from a 2560x1080 will give you HUGE benefits in terms of visuals but it wasn't the case. If you have a keen eye on details, you may spot the difference but for fast paced shooters like Battlefield1 and Doom. It's not so much. The pixel density plays a big part I guess. To make it simple, 3440x1440 is the same as your 29 inch just a bit taller haha! if you have a 34 inch with a 1080p resolution, it looks crap to me. If you are using a 29 inch and you're satisfied with it, keep it and save the money. If you have the cash to spare, spend it wisely. smile.gif If my budget is more flexible I would have taken the Acer XR34C2K but this is a great budget-friendly monitor if you want to save a few hundred bucks. Also get the Pixel Perfect version just so that you'll get a better quality. I think Crossover doesn't have a good QC and they just separate the good ones from the bad and sell with a higher price tag. Well that's better than getting something with defects right? Buy at your own risk smile.gif So far so good smile.gif  thumbup.gif
*
haha good conclusion with the risk thumbup.gif
