Me too, thinking whether to pull trigger on x34 or pg348q. Some says dell u3415w has better build quality and qc, and the matt panel doesnt look so dull. I think its time for most us to move to qhd.

QUOTE(richard912 @ May 29 2016, 02:22 PM) Dell's U3415w is limited to 60Hz only though x34 or pg348q panel matt coating looks dull, seen with my own eyes. Hmmp. hope it can be a little glossier say 20%-30% so it can looks better. But not totally glossy, I hate reflection.

QUOTE(emy_xvidia @ May 29 2016, 04:46 PM) Agreed with you as well. It's just that, too many reports on the panel used on X34 being either has backlight bleeding or bad IPS glow. scared of buying it and find out mine has those issues, plus the asking price is rather on steeper side for such issues to exist out of the box. Wish Dell or Samsung could just get into the game and produce UW Gsync monitors coz I rather trust these two than Asus and Acer Agree . I'm still waiting for a better out of the box monitor from Samsung or Dell with similar spec as X34 or better.

QUOTE(teng_08 @ May 30 2016, 08:19 AM) I think Dell's working on a new UW G-Sync monitor but could be months before it's announced. Dell and Samsung are rather slow in tapping the gaming monitor market. GTX1080 on UW G-Sync 2k monitor, I believe the fps will rarely dip below 60hz when gaming at max/ultra settings. G-Sync works is when the gpu render fps is way below the monitor fps, so it's like a waste of paying extra for G-Sync monitor. Hopefully it will be a new option to games, Dell or samsung UW G-Sync 4k monitor On the other hand, Fast gpu + normal monitor = Wasted G-Sync. (However screen tearing due to fast gpu render rate but monitor still 60 fps, this can mitigate by nvidia new Fast Sync) Note : No one is using V-Sync due to high input lag nowadays.

QUOTE(richard912 @ May 30 2016, 10:02 PM) Yeah.....the S2716DG is so overpriced for a TN panel. On a different note, Asus and ROG have conducted their Computex 2016 press conferences with ROG showcasinga 24" 165hz monitor. Tomorrow, Computex officially starts. Waiting on Acer/Predator's announcements EDIT : Seems Acer will be previewing X34P, with native 100hz. Current X34 is native 60Hz, OC to 100Hz. FYI, There's also an X34A already in the market (not Malaysia unfortunately). Diff of X34 and X34A is the stand whereby the latter has swivel function. LinustechtipWow x34p everything is just right on this monitor excet 144hz. Im ready for this, 100hz is ok for my eyes to handle

QUOTE(Someonesim @ Jun 24 2016, 10:52 PM) After one/two years of itch and consideration, I've decided to join #ultrawidemasterrace Currently aiming Acer Predator X34 for that ultrawide experience with 100Hz G-sync. Second choice Z35. Only concern now is my GTX970 might only capable of 40-70fps with most game on X34's resolution. So I'm invest to future now and hopefully upgrade GPU next year to truly enjoy it. See if Lazada & Gemfive got good deal or not If can wait better wait for x34p. Can swiwel, got joystick control and nicer back material matte and not mentioned more curve

QUOTE(Someonesim @ Jun 24 2016, 11:23 PM) Currently predator X34 about RM4.3K before further discount, quite low if compare to US. Will the new X34P priced much higher ? Those new addition/upgrade doesnt concern me much. Will the panel be same or newer better one You got your point. Most important is the panel must be top notch.

QUOTE(richard912 @ Jun 25 2016, 08:06 AM) The X34P will be using a newer panel compared to the X34, supplied by LG. Here are some interesting news on what we can expect later part of this year LG panel yeah, hopefully no backlight bleed or ips glow like those now found in high end ips model by AU optronics. Keep my finger crossed and i will swap my xb271hu anytime if the panel improve significantly

QUOTE(richard912 @ Jun 29 2016, 05:27 PM) Trying to understanding pricing policies is almost like trying to unravel the mysteries of a Black Hole. An example of this is Acer's XB271HU, priced at RM3299 compared to Asus PG279Q which sells for RM4.2k+! Thats why dont get ripped off like a water fish. Choose wisely dont give away your money to some greed idiot putting madness price

QUOTE(Someonesim @ Jun 29 2016, 11:07 PM) Certainly hope so, as far as I read in reddit/forum, almost all X34 owner are praising it. One downside for getting X34 is that it will be brutal on my 970 You need a minimum 980ti or 1070/80 to get the best out from x34. As for 1440p 27in 16:9 or 34in 21:9 are the best to view like 2-3 feets away between the eye and the screen. Same like 24in 16:9 1080p 2-3 feets too. For 2160p better to get 32in 16:9 else it has no difference like 1440p 27in at the same viewing distance of 2-3feets. Our eyes cant diffentiate it, unless you want to sit like 1 feet between your eye and the screen, then yes 4k monitor is good for that at 28in. thats why maybe acer 4k predator is much cheaper here. Its is build with wrong size and wrong resolution. Correct me if im wrong This post has been edited by Vannus: Jun 30 2016, 07:56 AM

QUOTE(stringfellow @ Jul 1 2016, 11:32 PM) Yes. But snaps back to 21:9 in-game. The snapping is smooth and without sound from monitor electronic board hardware? Or with tek tek sound ? Thats what im afraid too. If smooth im definately good with it but if there is electronic frequency flikering sound everytime switching from 16:9 and 21:9, i will definately say no.

QUOTE(sos_tiram @ Nov 21 2016, 06:22 PM) Ok, thanks, very helpful. Seems my decision now is more on X34A, with I5 6600K +16GB frame rate should be +5 or +10 abit. and also I'm into Elite Dangerous now, maybe i can see more left and right and more view of the cockpit Yes bro buy x34a if budget permit. But i would say gtx 1070 you can max out graphic settings in game but sacrifice framerates. Or you can achieve higher framerates but lower the settings. Depends on games too, if new games yes it will be impacted, but if old games no feel. But say later in future when you upgrade gpu, yes your monitor is still awesome. For your info, my gtx1080 on 2k reso settings everything max on forza horizon 3 and gears of war cannot even hit 144fps dont mention 165fps. Its just hovering around 80fps to 120fps. The only games im able to hit 165fps is league of legends and cs go
