hi guys..
using GeForce 9500 GT with 512mb dedicated RAM... everything is fine but Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended can't seem to run on my pc... it crashes everytime i edit pictures... had to disable GPU to run photoshop... they asked me to update my drivers but it's already the latest by nvidia.. anybody experienced anything like this before? |

i heard tht the 55nm version gtx260 (i guess it applies to gtx280/285 as well) is using cheaper pwm's,thus u cant use any voltage control software with it.this gives the 65nm version an advantage when oc-ing compared to 55nm

can anybody help me with my problem please?
i wan to run photoshop CS4 extended but my GPU dunno why cannot use it... when i load it says the monitor profile "LG W1942T" appears to be defective. Please rerun monitor calibration software. then inside it says no GPU detected... ask me to update my driver... using a GeForce 9500GT... latest drivers from nvidia already... |

did u patch the exe file first?

just go for 55nm, u can never go wrong. u save power, less heat and same/better performance and oc'bility

I believe there are one or two heatpipes missing on the 55nm and has less copper in the heatsink. That being said, people are making too much out of it, both the 65nm and the 55nm heatsinks work just fine and run about the same temps. The fact that a smaller die size runs the same temp is a bad thing. It should be cooler and more efficient.

Incredibly they actually FIXED my burned 8800gtx! So i yank out the 4870 and slot in the 8800gtx and guess what: 20 f***ing fps increase in gta 4 benchmarking test! Ati is really a worthless son of a prostitute.
So do i need to totally remove the crappy ati driver to avoid conflict with my new nvidia driver? I already uninstalled the catalyst control center. Hail Nvidia! |

yeah, with newer and more graphic intensive games together with high reso monitors, a 2nd gc is really a good boost and also sort of a cheaper upgrade instead of getting a totally new highend card.

graphic card for laptop replace-able? if you are currently using integrated graphic for lappie, sorry, but u cant upgrade it's graphic.. if ur lappie using independent gc , very very rare to find the gc for lappie and if u do so, no more warranty for ur laptop..

what i'm saying is that if someone is thinking of buying either GTX 285 or GTX 280. better go for GTX 285. those already GTX 280 just keep their GC, coz it's pointless to upgrade and a waste of money, just so that we can get 2-3 fps boost...

one thing i do understand getting two gtx285 is really expensive a gtx295 is 1.2-1.3k cheaper a gtx260 tri-sli is also cheaper . |

Bro cstkl1, so that means the GTX 285 will never be able to work with the EVGA voltage tuner? since 285 uses the Intersil ISL6327. No wonder GTX 280 is in the supported list instead of GTX 285

dont set the vid table in the bios unless u know what ure doing..
when i say vmod its physical vmod of the card warrantty easy.. if card dying just blind flash the card back to the original bios and take off the soldering work uve done ( take note u got to be good with this.. its not hard just some kemahiran hidup at work here) gtx295 however u can change vid in the bios This post has been edited by cstkl1: Mar 3 2009, 09:38 PM |

use nibitor to edit nvidia bios
except for gtx295/gtx285 u need nibitor 4.9.. only available for download if u donate a certain amount.. to flash use nvflash run in bootdisk .. floppy.. usb. commands are easy nvflash -i(0,1,2,3,4,5.. gpu) -4 ( overide the protection) -5 -6 (name of bios).rom to backup nvflash -b -i(01,2,3,4,5..gpu) (name of bios example backup.rom).rom gtx 295 or sli systems example like me nvflash -b -i0 zotac1.rom backup second card nvflash -i0 -4 -5 -6 ftw.rom for first card nvflash -b -i1 zotac2.rom backup second card nvflash -i1 -4 -5 -6 ftw.rom for second card gtx 295 should be the same. take note its ure risk to find the correct bios etc and trust the person who gave it to u. have fun This post has been edited by cstkl1: Mar 3 2009, 11:00 PM |

recently i notice my Galaxy 9800GT temperature was hit 90+ degree during play game....

Want to ask, Is GTS250 going to perform better than 9800GTX+?
Since GTS250 is here, by right the price of 9800GTX+ should drop right? The performance is benchmark against HD4850 right? |

from some reviews that i've read, it's quite close between those 2 cards but seems that HD4850 is still leading.

i just got my gtx 260 few days ago ok, i will install it tonight the latest driver version 182.06 support both my 8500gt & gtx 260 so, ca i just install gtx 260 without uninstall my latest nvidia driver?? |

Hell no. Must uninstall the driver 1st. Install the card, then reinstall the same driver. FYI forceware 182.08 is out. But not much diff compare to 182.06. Only added support to new cards such as gts250

subrok try make u fan speed 50% using extreme tuner sometime extreme tuner will bug if u make 100% speed it will automatic off that fan >.> suck rite

help..i set my speed FAN at 60%..idle at 49c full load around 66c
but if i set it to 80% i also got same temps..then i changed it @ 40% and i got same temperatures ! ! what da heck happen to my gc??! |

btw there's no way we could control the gpu fan speed in bios right? in the end i'll have to rely on software to do that right? so currently which is the best / stable software to control my gpu fan speed? kinda feel that my card is hot! (still not used to temp more than 70 to 80C for a card, even my mobo and cpu temp rise when gaming. all exhaust fan are pushing out hot air, casing is so hot i feel like sitting beside a radiator or something.

btw, how to check whether my new psu & gtx 260 function properly?? some of u guys said using furmark or 3dmark to stress gpu then how to test the psu?? so far now i only test devil may cry 4 & maple story no problem at allAdded on March 5, 2009, 4:21 pmhelp!!!  when i watch the DMC4's event movie (just b4 mission 1 start) the game suddenly crash, and windows ask me to send error report or dont send gpu problem?? i just uninstall 8500gt driver via device manager then straightly reboot & shutdown it (without using driver cleaner) then i plug in gtx 260 then boot up pc & install new 182.08 driver yesterday run DMC4 benchmark test without any problem occurs (all super high, 60fps max, 8x MSAA, vsync off) is it psu has problem?? but if psu has problem, isnt pc will shutdown automatically?? will the problem occur bcoz my mobo does not support pci-e 2.0?? Try re-installing the game, if you use 'ahem' games, you will experience random crashes.

That's what I said, maybe your DVD content is corrupted.. (got scratch maybe) since u only encounter this during cut scenes and not the gameplay..
don't think there's anything wrong with ur gc, that's why I recommend u to play other games first to see if there's really got the same problem on the other games.. If not, then u are about to waste 1 month or more of ur life without any gc at all to send it for rma. |

thanks everyone who gives me suggestion, especially valho btw, this game seems has some bugs some websites state that if set the shadow quality to super high, the game might crash in the mission 1 intro so i set it to high quality & no problem |

1920x1080 at dx10 all settings super high,16xQ AA still playable for me.

yes.but depends on ur preference.some ppl regard 30fps-50fps as slow,while its fast enough for me.as long its nt lag like 20fps below thn im ok with it

30-40fps is consider abit lagging for me
mayb im sensitivebtw, fps thing is differ for each other if feel good then ok aredi, no need so much fps waste pc usage |

hye there all.
i have recently bought Palit GTX285 i've downloaded the latest Nvidia driver for my vista 64-bit. 182.08. before installing,i already uninstalled the previous driver.i even disabled anti virus.then, when i tried to install the new driver,it takes about 5mins to install which is longer than usual.then finally,it says "The system has not been modified. To install this program at a later time, run the installation again. Click Finish to exit the wizard." after rebooting my pc, i can use the GPU as if the driver is installed properly.running 3D Mark 06 with ease. what is the cause of the problem here actually?why it says system has not been modified? |

try redownload the driver and reinstall again, make sure all old drivers are removed b4 u do that. btw ur sig says Palit Geforce GTX285 1GB DDR2.

download new fresh installer,uninstall old driver,delete NVIDIA folder C: hard drive also.install the new one,still say system has not been modified lol.right click option on desktop shows nvidia control panel.i'll try run some games now.

yep. btw, which one is more feasible: -buy 1 gtx285, later when newer card came out, buy another gtx285 and sli. or -buy 1 gtx285, later when newer card came out, buy the newer card and sell the old gtx285. what i meant here is, i maybe just going to play using a 22inch screen. if i want the top notch performance with the best value, should i go for option 1 where usually after newer card arrived, the older card price gonna decrease rite? but i wonder if im going to upgrade further [no trisli], howthe price of the 2 gtx285 when im gonna sell em [lets say after 3 years?]? or should i go for option 2. dont have to buy new psu, cooler interior, lesser gtx285 price degradation, and i more pcie slot for something else. |

Hey, using Corsair TX650. I have both the 6 pin plugs plugged in, could it be it's not firmly fixed in?

No matter how high your FPS still got micro stuttering on Nvidia 9800GX2 and GTX295.
on 3D Mark 06 the flying ship chasing by Dragon..when the Dragon jumping cross the airship part the micro suttering is most high for me..even the FPS i got is 1xx above also feel the sudden stop for 1 sec |

zzzz.... micro stuttering is over rated...
it's almost unnoticable when u r playing most games. newer drivers are constantly minimizing the suttering. as long as the games u play is above 60fps (or more than your monitor's refresh rate) then u won't notice a thing. microstuttering also depends on whether if it's dual, tri or quad configuration. quad being the worst, and really cannot get away with it. there are reviews saying that dual is the minimally being noticed, whereas another review said that Tri config is the least noticable. |

One GTX295 core is between GTX260 and 280. Just to give info. GTX285 almost beating 4870x2? Only on one resolution though. |

Since gtx 275 is for counter attacking hd4890 and 4890 is set to release in april, guess gtx 275 will either be released in end of april or may. But then again i could be wrong. What really attracts me is the price!

im using nVidia 9800 GC connected via HDMI cable --> 32" lcd but the text is distorted...google many source but it lead to nVidia problem...downloaded the latest patch also no luck. Maybe u guys can share with me how u solve this distorted text problem. Thanks alot.. |

Downloading the latest driver sometimes is not the solution. Try older ones as well. They might work fine. Thats all I can help as I never tried on a 32 inch

I'm buying 2nd 9600GT for SLi last week, I surveyed every single 9600GT available at LYP and I stunned by:
1) There are no more reference PCB and cooler anymore (maybe XFX uses them but the box is sealed so they won't allow me to see them) 2) One card, Palit 9600GT costing RM340 at PC Zone doesn't come with any power connector, as small as HD46XX cards but it don't have SLi connector. This is a good contender to HD4670 In the end I buy Galaxy 9600GT as it matches closely to reference 9600GT and it uses Samsung memory. It runs great, despite different BIOS and PCB, in fact I can run Crysis maxed at 1280x1024 |

unconfirmed but better source than fudzilla its going to be a overclocked version of gtx260 the gtx295 used a underclocked version of gtx285. and suggestion of underclocked version of gtx275 is false at this point. because if what u say is true than its a gtx280 55nm something like 9800gtx+ vs 9800gtx first round both was 65nm so again gtx275 is just a overclocked version of gtx260 at the same voltage 1.15 they are doing better yields now on speed binning hopefully this better binned chips can overclock even higher.. that means out preform a gtx280 This post has been edited by cstkl1: Mar 14 2009, 12:19 AM |

Er sorry for being a newbie in GPU . I understand that ATI cards have been the best bang of bucks lately but I'm well aware of the compatibility issue of ATI card on old games like StarCraft and etc which the ATI driver often fks up the pixel.
Which is why I would like to know is there any nvdia cards in the market atm which still worth getting compared to a 4870? |

check @ garage sales.u can get a palit gtx260 sonic,oc version with custom cooler for RM900 or a stock palit gtx260 for rm800 or lower

i'm planning to change to green camp and I'm planning to buy GTX260. So which one is better. Palit (OCed version) or Gainward Golden sample. Any other suggestion?

The GTX285 is an improved version of the 280. Architecturally the same, only difference is the the processor unit. The 280 had the old 65nm chip while the 285 has the new 55nm chip. This new fabrication allows for lower power consumption and allows the card to be clocked at a higher speed. =D

3rd party coolers look promising but i've read that some still claim stock reference is better since it exhaust hot air out of the case instead. btw im refering to the dual slot nvidia reference cooler. can anyone share their experience on this? let's say, like gtx285 reference cooler compared to the AC accelero extreme 280? thankyou thankyou!

gtx295 has three ports.. two dvi and one hdmi he is talking about the hdmi not most nvidia gc which has two dvi and they give u the dongle conversion from dvi to hdmi... .this one not a issue, |

Quadro in gaming mode cannot beat those Gaming graphic card. I using Quadro FX4600 tested in game before and result same as 8600GTS only.

this quadro latest and high end in Nvidia..
better check the online review for comparison vs other mobile GC.. it's better than mobility 4870 and 9800m gtx..if thats not enuf, the lappie got quad core extreme.. I sure know Nvidia Quadro is high end stuff and very powerful but on gaming the result still not that high enough. So far as u see from benchmaking result is just 10k score...even a gaming graphic card 9600GT also got 11k score.
That why i say don't give so high hope on it to Run very high or ultra high setting with full AA open |

I think Nvidia will release Empire Total War Driver first then only release HAWK....SO far now only got Driver for Fear 2 only.
EMpire now cannot support SLI my 9800GX2 work like shit on it |

same memory bandwidth & memory size with gtx 260

Planning to change to Green Camp. Currently using HD4870 512MB and planning to replace it with Palit GTX260 216 Sonic (OCed). So do you guys think it's worth it or not. Or should I just wait for GTX 275 or Gainward GTX285 custom cooled (with 4 heat pipes) 1GB version. I prefer the latter but I don't have any idea about the price and its availability in our country and hence stopped thinking about it for a while.
