i'm planning to change to green camp and I'm planning to buy GTX260. So which one is better. Palit (OCed version) or Gainward Golden sample. Any other suggestion?

BTW, my budget is RM900. Thanks

Planning to change to Green Camp. Currently using HD4870 512MB and planning to replace it with Palit GTX260 216 Sonic (OCed). So do you guys think it's worth it or not. Or should I just wait for GTX 275 or Gainward GTX285 custom cooled (with 4 heat pipes) 1GB version. I prefer the latter but I don't have any idea about the price and its availability in our country and hence stopped thinking about it for a while.

So Sifus.. really need your help here.

im also rookie tongue.gif btw, here my suggestion
i think not so worth coz 4870 performance similar with gtx260
512MB version & 1GB version's performance is same if u play games in lower resolution (lower than 1920x1080 i think) except something like crysis & warhead
u can wait till gtx275 released or the gainward gtx285 tat u interest coz price might drop tat time smile.gif
Haha, you totally underestimated the GTX 260 Sonic. The performance is completely difference compare to the reference GTX 260. FYI the GTX260 Sonic's performance is almost identical to the stock GTX 280 and I'm sure you know this cause you own one right.

That's why I asked should I wait for the Gainward GTX285/275 or should I stick to my previous Idea which is buying either GTX260 sonic or HD4890.

and yes, I'm using a 24" LCD. Thanks for the info~

I have tried running the fan 100% all the time for my Geforce GTX285 with Artic Cooling Accelero Extreme.

While playing GTA4, the temperature was like 45c-46c during load.

When idle, the temperature was about 34-36c.

Even at full speed, the sound of my air purifier exceeds this .

Definitely a highly recommended cooler.

What's the difference between the normal Arctic Cooling Accelero and the extreme version. Can it be used for both Nvidia and Ati cards?

guys, gtx275 coming out... may i knw between 275 and 4890 which 1 worth more to buy ? i now using 4850 with 22inch LCD game at 1650*1050 res...

i am not an ATI or nVidia fan boy... jz choose the best bang for buck card...

now still planning to which card should i go for my nxt upgrade ... or issit 4850 already sufficient for current LCD ?  biggrin.gif

For time being GTX275 is the best bang for buck. But if you're not rushing on anything just wait until the driver for 4890 is released then there will be new reviews about the card. Just my 2 cents~

My friend set the fan to 85% for 5 straight hour once. Everything works just fine. Just give it a try for one hour 1st.
