Want to ask, Is GTS250 going to perform better than 9800GTX+?
Since GTS250 is here, by right the price of 9800GTX+ should drop right? The performance is benchmark against HD4850 right? |

QUOTE(metsatsu @ Mar 4 2009, 11:08 AM) Gts250 is pretty much a 9800gtx+ with a slightly higher oc and smaller remade pcb. Nothing more. This is even dumber than upgrading from gtx 280 to gtx 285, as for gtx 285 we get 55nm chip with more potential. Gts250 is just part of their marketing strategy to make their product lineup looks good. AFAIK, galaxy alrdy released a version of shorter pcb for the 9800gtx+, just in case if u all thought that gts250 new pcb awes you. But it's about time they officialized the new shorter pcb version, which the longer pcb doesnt even justify for its performance, lol Will the new gts250 require lower power than gtx+ does? Moreover gts250 needs only one 6 pin power plug. |

QUOTE(metsatsu @ Mar 27 2009, 12:21 AM) But i prefer leadtek than Palit, heard a few drawback of palit from distributor. Especially Palit HD4850 Sonic, even the fan is running, you can smell burnt smell One more thing, XFX is using 8 layer PCB, i might be wrong... but is a very good brand. |

QUOTE(Vorador @ Apr 23 2009, 11:36 PM) How you make it? Is your casing placed at the center of your room? My casing is on the table side. Besides CM690 lets you mount a fan at the bottom, i choose 14cm silent Blue LED fan. CFM is kinda low but it blow cool air to the galaxy reference fan. If i use 12cm, i had to remove the screw to clean the mesh while 14cm is just remove the retention plastic clip.QUOTE(Xehanort @ Apr 23 2009, 11:41 PM) mine is palit gtx 260 sonic 40% seems like no air, 65% performs better air flow.ops, i 4got to mention that my fan speed is default 40% so, basically temperature is higher than yours |

So guys, safest temp. for GTX260+ should be? 65c or max 75c?
Currently testing vantage only reach 55c, but when gaming will hit roughly 65c. Btw, now benchmarking at core702/shader1400/memory1100. |

QUOTE(Xehanort @ Apr 27 2009, 10:23 PM) palit gtx 260 sonic also good Well you can't compare Palit GTX260 Sonic and Galaxy GTX260 cause both are using different board. Palit choose to strip down the production cost by using alternative voltage controller chip and cheaper quality PCB board. Reference board is black colour and uses reliable voltage controller.btw, galaxy gtx 260 tri-fan very awesome If Palit GTX260 Sonic vs Galaxy GTX260+ OC tri fan, i would happily take the galaxy even is no longer being a reference board but pack with a very good third party cooler. Everybody praise Palit for being very cheap, but the market price gap has close so tight that Palit is not really a good choice to get it with cutting cost materials. The lowest and reliable is still Galaxy GTX260+ from robycom at RM 690 |

QUOTE(Terence573 @ May 9 2009, 09:50 AM) Sims3 RE3......u recommend low end card?? Is recommended to run furmark in 640x480 in stability mode while tuning your card. At least on the spot you can detect your gpu any flaw aka artifacts appearing. That's how i found my hd4890 limit to 910mhz, when hit 920 the fur starts to show dots. Somehow gtx260 gate the best overclocking from 576 to 730.by the way Ivan.GTX260 should be around RM600 to RM750 nowadays depends on ur "hunt". Added on May 9, 2009, 9:51 am strangely 1280x768 gives lower score for me in benchmark...3k score. where as 1440x900 gives 6k score in furmark. how come ar?? Added on May 9, 2009, 9:54 am the card freezes in cryostasis during the 700/1509/1200 operation haha... only dark green color appears on screen.reset button is no effect. I tot my card was a goner....then gave a "hard shutdown" solved it....pheew. strained it too much i guess. |

QUOTE(Terence573 @ May 9 2009, 08:28 PM) then i think mine is a really bad apple. From 576 to 700 consider very good. Daily i'm using 700 to pushing to the max. It's sheer of fun overclocking. Did you set the fan at least 80 percent during gaming. Just to be safe cooling.couldn't even hit 700. not showing artifact summore direct hang.....go cannot do flexible OC...need hard restart. |

QUOTE(Terence573 @ May 10 2009, 08:27 PM) the 182 and 185 have huge performance gap for games. I'll wait for rivatuner release version 2.25 to support this new driver.http://downloads.guru3d.com/GeForce-Forcew...nload-2272.html I've manage to use rivatuner 2.24 but not fully compatible with it |
