yeah, with newer and more graphic intensive games together with high reso monitors, a 2nd gc is really a good boost and also sort of a cheaper upgrade instead of getting a totally new highend card.

QUOTE(nazseha @ Mar 3 2009, 12:33 AM) MAYBE better in OCed ability.. but dunno till some1 prove it...maybe like ace combat example? hmm... not necessary bro. they might pull down the price of the 65nm variant first and then slowly bring in the 55nm, so to make it easier to phase out from the market, so they don't end up with loads of 65nm cards in their stocks.Ya..55nm is Cut Cost Product...look the cooler + heatsink for 55nm...the price should be cheaper then 65nm model rite... |

well since you're asking in the nvidia thread then we shall recommend you a nvidia card
technically any agp cards should do fine with your current setup. it's rather hard now to find agp8x nvidia cards in the market, you might have better luck in finding them at the garage sales. most importantly please state your budget also |

from some reviews that i've read, it's quite close between those 2 cards but seems that HD4850 is still leading.

QUOTE(Kidz1995 @ Mar 7 2009, 09:15 AM) depends on what games you play. some might have increased fps, some might have decreased fps.QUOTE If PhysX calculations are done over the GPU with an old (CPU bound) game, with a dedicated GPU you will offload the CPU and create more momentum for the CPU and then the framerate can be higher. *quoted from guru3d If PhysX calculations where done over the GPU with an new more modern (GPU bound) game, it's likely for you to have a lower framerate, as your GPU will have to render more objects with for example particle rich explosions while the CPU load isn't lowered whatsoever. |

wanna ask, how come when i run sli, i cant run in sli mode for 3dmark06?
selected sli enabled in the control panel, but then when i tested 3dmark the result come out the same like single card. and another thing, when i run 3d mark or other games my screen either has artifacts or shows red flickers. could it be due to the different clockspeed of each card? coz one is msi and another is xfx 8800gt. |

QUOTE(fcuk90 @ May 20 2009, 04:48 PM) grid , pes2009, left4dead and burn out paradise .. grid, left 4 dead and burnout should be able to play medium-high at your reso. play with the graphic settings to see which is best suited for yourself.Added on May 20, 2009, 4:49 pm the resolution i used is 1024x768 thx for the answer .since i saw 8600gt so cheap at garage sale as for pes2009 i think can play high straightaway. not very high requirement i use to have 8600gt too, can play medium-high or high for most games at 1280x1024. |

most of the high end games can be played with medium settings. play around with the settings to see which suits you best. sometimes can play medium with some high settings too.

yeah...forgot to mention the resolution also..if you just play on normal 17 -19" square screen 9500gt will serve you well. but for higher reso need to play with the settings as i mentioned previously.
@pro-mx..spoon already bought the 9500gt. cant ask him to straight away change to 9600gt pulak |

I think your graphic card is overheating. Geforce 8M series is known for it's overheating problems. Are you using laptop cooler to cool it? If it still persists then it's better to send it back to dell for warranty.

you can't share system memory together with dedicated graphics memory. unless it's an intergrated graphics chipset, then you can share system memory.
1920x1080 isn't good enough for you? |
