______________________________________________________

In order to have more useful information pertaining the bank's credit card as this post has been complained to be not useful at all is sad.

I would like to share one good promotion which I've used offered by CIMB Credit Card as follows:

Last holiday I brought my nephews to Kidzania at Curve Damasara.
I used this Discount Code ----- to purchase tickets of my 3 nephews and me and my sister via Kidzania's website.
We have discounted price for the kids as well adults.
So if you have plan to bring kids there on this weekend can book there.

update: OFFER ENDED

From my experience mastercard contactless doesn't work with mcd terminal. But they accept pin cards by slotting them into the terminal. Tried with cr mastercard.

I mean with the CIMB Cash Rebate card, do I get the 2% cash rebate for Unifi bill payment if I subscribe to autopay? If I'm not mistaken they used to do that but I don't see this in the list.

Somebody has already asked earlier. Since you're the staff, shouldn't you be the leading example by scrolling above posts before asking redundant question.

I thought you're the one who keeps on stressing on following the book people.

I remembered you did warn somebody yesterday on the "First" spam post.

Correct me if any of all my defences are totally irrelevant or totally not applicable to your doing as I didn't sense any rudeness in my post at all. I didn't caps lock them or put any "!" sign to end my statement.

My friend, your late night is when? Now doesn't consider late.

My bet is that it'll be visible tomorrow even though the posting date is 29th and the transaction date is 28th.

The reason is because it is the start of a new page of ledger in CIMBClicks.

What I am afraid of is these problems might result in us not getting CB but still incurred 2.12%of convenience fees. Or they might create to much hassle making it not worthwhile to get d ~3% CB.

Yes, I've referred the first page and I don't see one relating to it and that's why I'm asking here.

I ask this because last time I called to CIMB to confirm on this and the CS said UNIFI will entitle the 2%. That's why I'm curious and wanna find out.

Pin is only required for purchases above rm250 so for mcd no pin is required.
Also bank negara directive is to move to pin without signature. Thats why mcd doesnt need pin or signature

Signature is required for all amounts but in the future when PIN & Pay already implemented, that is not the case anymore.

Hopefully banks can give us the option to enter PIN even if it is below RM 250.

charge RM1k to 1) aeon: 1000 rewards point
2) uob vox: RM 50 cash rebate
total: 1000 rewards and RM 50 cash rebate
?

UOB VOX is 5.3% but do not forget about 2% service charge. So cost effectiveness is 3.3%.

Nope, no way to pay. If there is, won't go through this route. All the online channels for PTPTN are no longer available.

Not to forget the extension of paying back that RM1k in 6 months, where I can generate more interests from FD etc.

I paid PTPTN through their mobile counter. You cant pay online as far as I know.

I think we're more interested on all the transactions that you swiped in the previous statement so that we can tell you which transaction are eligible.

So it's better to snapshot that instead of this.

from your transactions, was there any ~RM64.xx or ~RM25.6x transaction not captured in the screenshot?

from my calculations, there's missing cb that i couldnt derive.

your eligible CB is RM15.02, wherease my count is RM13.74. Difference cb is RM1.28. Reverse the calculation, RM1.28 CB can be derived from 5% (online) or 2% (petrol/grocery).

0.2% retail cb RM2.65 is correct, matches from my calcuation vs cb credited.

No way, figure yourself. That's why we have Excel tracking but because the cash back for my CIMB CR is too little, I don't bother creating one. It's not difficult to track though.

I paid McDonald's using a MasterCard's PayPass. McDonald's did not recognise the card. Therefore I opted to pay with MasterCard's conventional Type, Chip transaction.

No Signature is required.

Keep in mind that they are supposed to change by 1/1/17, not on. In this case the McDonalds terminals should already be pin n pay terminals. That is why signature is not required. All older terminals without pin n pay should require signature until they are replaced.

I just got my CIMB Cash Rebate Platinum card not long ago and started to use this as my main card.

Does anyone know if CIMB does offer these services?

1) E-statement of credit card bill to email address? Since this will be my first statement, are they going to send a paper copy or e-statement to my email address?
2) SMS alert for every single transaction (online & swipe, any amount)

Do they provide these service for free? I took a look at the CIMB Clicks and they charge SMS alert for CIMB Click transactions...

Wondering what are the grocery and retail merchants eligible for the rebate, as I am aware that some cards only offer to certain merchants?

I just got my CIMB Cash Rebate Platinum card not long ago and started to use this as my main card.

Does anyone know if CIMB does offer these services?

1) E-statement of credit card bill to email address? Since this will be my first statement, are they going to send a paper copy or e-statement to my email address?
2) SMS alert for every single transaction (online & swipe, any amount)

Do they provide these service for free? I took a look at the CIMB Clicks and they charge SMS alert for CIMB Click transactions...

1) shud be estatement, else just get it from cimbclicks
2) call cs to set limit to RM1

I'm also wondering about the SMS alert. Is it free or does it come with a fee? If there's a fee how much is it per SMS?

P/S: Just received my CIMB CR card today via Pos Laju. Applied at the branch on 9 June.

Better yet just set up auto-billing with Celcom. Get 5% rebate from Celcom and 2% cashback from CIMB. Total 7% rebate.

Ya, I see the MCC numbers, but what exactly are the merchants? Because some cards say groceries, but in the fine print only eligible for Cold Storage and Jaya Grocers etc, so... does it mean every single merchant?

It is not tied to specific merchant like UOB, Citibank or HSBC.

As long as the merchant is using the MCC falls into the eligible, you will be awarded for the rebate.

Just had my card activated around 30 minutes ago. rclxms.gif CIMB's system was down yesterday for maintenance, so that's why. I've also changed my SMS transaction alert limit to RM1. smile.gif But I was unable to change my PIN via CIMB Clicks (apparently still down?) So I'm gonna do that at the ATM.

First time encounter this scenario:

28/6 - statement date
29/6 - cb receive (without cb earn below transaction)
29/6 - swipe RM100 online transaction

question: does the RM100 consider June or July cb quota?

What I understand cross borders charges only applicable for online. For overseas, of course there are bank charges + exchange rate.

Got my online application rejected on the same day.
Would the CS be able to provide the reason for rejection?

If your combined credit limit too high hard to apply for more CC or loan. That's it.

I noticed Lazada can no longer purchase mobile reloads with vouchers anymore. Any other working solutions? From other sites also OK. I don't want to purchase and get Lazada vouchers, I don't have so many things to buy. laugh.gif

I would like to purchase two pieces of reloads. laugh.gif Not urgent though, my spare no. will expire in 10 days so I can reload anytime. biggrin.gif My HLB Wise has fully depleted so cannot get 10% cash back anymore. sad.gif Else worse comes to worst, only enjoy CC cash back + Shopback...

Where do you pay to? If can try not to pay through PayPal as you will get charged 0.8% cross border fees & if you buy in other currency, the exchange rate is terrible.

In fact, CIMB CR has one of the lowest exchange rates compared to other cards. Proven by few members and myself. smile.gif

Lower than personal loan? You get chopped up front even before you get any money! Say you need 20k, you pay 5% (if I'm not mistaken) upfront, meaning 1k, and then you get charged interest daily.

Never do cash advance, it's really not worth it. Better to swipe the expenditure and then balance transfer, at least no up front haircut.

Like what Fruitie has replied, other than CR, there is no other 'good' card from CIMB.

If you don't mind other banks' card that can meet what you need, you may post a query following the standard format at https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3644347

You know it well, promo is for CIMB cards only. You mentioned "all CIMB credit cards", I was merely correcting you that Signature level and above get 15%. Obviously I was referring to CIMB Signature and higher ranking cards. Moreover this is a CIMB thread, if it's for other banks, I will mention the bank's name here.

Hi All... abit off-topic but still related to CIMB.

Currently using CIMB ATM Card without the touch n wave ability. Will it automatically send me a new card for replacement of current card or will I need to go to CIMB to change it manually instead ? This is also for the newly used 6 digits PIN instead of signatory too..

Mine is the older ATM Card without the 'touch n wave'.

The spend RM 100 in a single receipt and get RM 10 voucher is back but unlike previously where you can get vouchers even for ePay payments and TnG reloads. Now cannot, only pure purchases will be entitled. So, not gonna benefit most of though.

Yeah i was expecting the cashback in June 2016 statement.
But there is none.
So can i safely said it's not in online category?

Or should i call in to CS for clarification.

How about other transactions? No cash back as well? Or totally no cash back?
If you are very sure it's a glitch then can call to check out.

Unfortunately for May transactions there is only two.
Astro and Pizza hut delivery.

Anyway there is a welcome bonus credited on june statement.

I'm not sure how to add an attachment here with capture screen or print screen.

is there some additional charge for online payment with cimb credit card?

I recently changed my Spotify subscription to this card, but i was being charged for rm15.02 when i receive my statement.
The previous card was charged with the exact amount which is rm14.9 only.

And I remember I faced similar additional charge when I used Uber last time as well.

It is cross borders charge. It depends on the merchants' payment gateway. https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2519936

CIMB sent me a replacement card with contactless payment tech for my CR card a few months back.

Does anyone have problems with getting the contactless payment to work? I usually pump petrol at BHP, and it worked the first 2-3 times. After that the contactless terminals stopped detecting my card. Shouldn't be BHP's problem as I've tried at a different stations until today (if their terminal was broken, they would've fixed it by now).

Anyone with the same problem? Should I just call up CIMB contact centre and ask them to replace these defective cards?

Plan to apply this card thru CIMB Clicks, got some questions:
i) can get the 20% cash rebate for 1st time user, as per ads. Anyone get it? (Promotion end until 31 July)

ii) Will come with TnG Zing card and charge RM10 for me? If yes, can I waive it, right?

iii) Plan use this card buy online stuff in Groupon, Lazada and Mi Malaysia, can get 5% rebate?

i) Not sure, check with CS.

ii) Can request not to have it when you apply. I specifically requested not to have Zing Card, I didn't receive anything, just my credit card.

iii) Yes, you may refer to first post for the eligible list which tested by forummers here. You could also contribute in the future.

Stupid question here, for CIMB Petronas Mastercard, Statement Balance up below RM 3k, will earn 3% rebate for PETRONAS related swipes.

If zero balance, even you swiped at PETRONAS, you won't earn anything right?

*Zero balance == outstanding cleared before statement date

I also faced this issue at BHP last week but I've not been to any other merchant that has Paypass so I can't tell if the NFC got issue or it was just the BHP terminal I was using.

Takde cerita macam ni. I got mine free even when I was using slotted HLB MACH. So long you use credit card or debit card will get free if above RM 10 per receipt.
Now my HLB MACH is replaced and comes with PayWave, so I just tap only.

Ya, CIMB Cash Rebate Platinum is good for Online purchase 5% CR
but buy McD only get 0.2% CR (Same as UOB One Platinum)

MBB AMEX 5X point = 1.25% better a lot

FYI, Link your credit card to your cimbclick by manual

- Log in cimbclick account
- click my account --> My credit card --> select link my credit card
- Key in your credit card number
- Request TAC On SMS

Will take 3 working days to process

So....some of my friends received the Tesco Platinum Mastercard from CIMB, they've also received the SMS from CIMB notifying them of the new card.

But I didn't receive any sms so I thought good, don't issue me any, kthxbye.

Then a "VISA PLATINUM" appeared in my CIMBClicks today...ugh...I'm hoping its some sort of system glitch as I've not received the sms nor the actual card lol...

Damn i want to scold CIMB, apply one of their credit card (Cash Rebate Platinum MasterCard) through online kena rejected by way of sms.

I was like wtf ? Minimum requirement 24k p.a only i also not qualify ? hmm.gif

I planning to cancel my Ambank True card to switch to this better rebate card but got booted

I got also Maybank 2 Platinum card which all payment made on time, no outstanding more than a month. No other loan or credit, basically loan free. So i'm sure my credit is good.

Try to call CIMB customer service to find out the reason but even they also dont know the reason for rejection doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif

And said that if i want reapply need wait six months vmad.gif vmad.gif

CIMB bye bye, i even now want to close down my saving account on this bank

i applied Visa signature before Raya and it was approved after Raya and received last Mon. last year or early this year (can't recall), applied for CL increase, CIMB also approved 50% up.

it means on telemarketing side based on your qualification/requirements, you are qualified. but just that it doesn't get approved by their credit control/approval side.

Guys,

Did you specify the credit limit line for your sup account when applying a supplementary card in the form? Will this in any way, affect the separation of the CB cap?

Or there's any other thing to do to ensure the CB cap is not shared? Thanks!

CB cap is separate according to cards.

So regardless of limit, both can theoretically get maximum cashback.

So I do not have to fill up the assign credit limit part in the form, right? Just leave it as it is?

Up to you actually.

You might want to control the supplementary card's spending.

If yes, go ahead and set a limit.

If not, go ahead and set nothing.

What do you mean by repeat the same bill#?

There is a barcode at the bottom of the bil... The format as below:-

xxxxxxxxxxxxxx (14 digit no Akaun) xxxxxxxx ( 8 digit no bill/invoice)

Are you referring to the one (8 digit in RED) above? Thanks

Ugh, really pissed with CIMB now.

Applied for CMB CR last week through CIMBClicks, immediately kena reject. So okay fine, was considering other cards or even trying to apply at CIMB branch to get that 1 hour approval.

Then today got called by CS about my application, as if it's still processing. She listed my details out to me for me to confirm, read me the T&C of the application, and told me she will send email with requirements that they need from me... pay slip, bank statement etc.

Then when she hung up immediately I got an email saying my application was unsuccessful again! Why didn't she just tell me that in the first place instead of wasting my time for me to confirm my application details. mad.gif

I got no loans, no bad credit, and this would be my first CC. I definitely meet the min requirements.

So what should I do now? Try to go to a branch apply and get 1 hour approval? Wait a few months to try again? Or drop CIMB and try other banks instead? With first experience like this to apply CC it's left bad taste in my mouth tbh puke.gif

Sorry for the rant.

You will still be rejected if you apply again now. Why don't just wait till it cool off and reapply again later, say 6 months later? Or you can try other banks.

System allow doesn't mean it's the right number to "repeat".
If you have the bill, use the correct invoice no. (aka Bill Number) which you are paying for. It eases the reconciliation process later by their back-end team.

Well, I don't have and always bill is not with me or sometimes I don't even have the visibility, I checked from online.
Sorry to say, this part I cannot accommodate and moreover I already saved it as favourite. I can't be editing every month for all different TNB bills I have been paying.

Other things I can but not this.

What do you mean by "not to pay the retail transaction"? unsure.gif
Oh got it, negative transactions is it? That means your cash back is greater than retail transactions?

CIMB is very tricky, for safety purpose just see the amount shown on statement balance. If it's negative then don't need to pay but if it's not, please pay and don't deduct the cash back yourself. You might be slapped with interest due to short payment, CIMB doesn't recognize cash back as "payment".

Hey everyone

TNB's new portal has a payment gateway. Wonder if this qualifies as online (5%) or utilities (2%) or the dreaded 0.2% "others"...

I am going to try, but my billing cycle just started so I would not know until next month. In the mean time, appreciate if anyone who has tried to provide some feedback 😊

QUOTE(milque @ Jul 25 2016, 11:57 AM)

Sorry for the rant.

just applied yesterday, walk in branch

hope my application is successful sweat.gif

what's your bill date?

Bill date 27th every month, if pay today, don't think it will be processed in time for this month's cycle.

Just found out about TNB's payment gateway this morning.

Correction, should be 28th. Anyway, will try next week as I will pay the main bulk with my PB Signature Visa via UOB, and a small sum using my CIMB. Will report back next month.

The TNB gateway somehow does not allow partial payment, only the actual balance.

Yes, but PosOnline charges 2% service charge. So effective cash back is only 3%.

victorywp, I think you will need to add AEON payment via PosOnline under eligible list.

My first application for CC was for Citibank, after working 3 months of my first job, being rejected, appeal again then also being rejected.
Half year later, apply for Maybank, approved, then after that no problem at all in applying the credit card, EXCEPT for Citibank which I already give up
My CC repayment record is good, plus I have a car loan for two years already

Definitely no for CIMB CR. Only 0.2%.
Anyway, ezpay cannot top up using CC after the first top up and they discontinued issuing new card already.

I think even if you link one, the other one will automatically appear.

This happened to my brother's case. I requested to link the CIMB CR MC only but the other Petronas card appears automatically by itself.

Just realised this is another card i need.

I applied at CIMB click and got rejected right away, so i called my RM to submit the application forms tru branch. dont know will reject again or not with so much hutang in Balance transfer and >30 cards in hand.

read tru the pages, i gather that CB is calculated based on statement cycle.
online transactions CB max RM30 per statement cycle, so i applied 4 supps to aim for RM150

Any body can share if the swipes taken for CB calculation for the cycle is based on transaction or posting dates? which can be few days later right?

thanx

RM 30 max only applicable to online transactions e.g u shop at lazada
so that rm31++ means online shopping 5% + 2% (petrol, grocery etc)

This would be the very first month I'm using cimb cr. If everything goes well, I mean my 600 swipe gets posted accordingly, I should expect the rm30 cb in unbilled trx by tomorrow in cimb clicks, right?

However I gotta pay rm600 and not deducting the rm30 cb yet before the due date?

Even if it's posted, you just pay according to statement balance. Never deduct the cash back and pay the balance. CIMB doesn't regard cash back as "payment", few already got financial charges due to this.

I'm kinda confused why do people use the CIMB CR Plat... the % of CR is inferior to many cards out there. Is there something I'm missing here?

THe only CIMB i hold is the WMC just so I can get 15% off alcohol whenever I pass by KLIA..

Most of use use this card for Online transactions, which will get 5% cash back capped at RM30. It has no annual fee and no minimum spending to entitle for cash back.

Check 1st post for other cash back categories blush.gif

use the same one you entered when registering for POSOnline.
You can see it by looking at your own POSOnline profile.

You certainly missed out the selling point of this card - 5% of cash back for online transactions. smile.gif I use it quite a lot for my transactions below RM 50 to complement with my UOB VOX. Plus it has one of the better exchange rates, makes it not a too bad card for online transactions.

Wouldnt the PB Signature be better? 6% for online without the limitation imposed by CIMB... capped at RM60.. thats my goto for paying utilities, amazon, paypal etc (not sure paypal qualifies oh well). ...

Also zero AF and no minimum spending..

not everyone can apply pbb vs (p/s: now capped at RM50).

uob vox/cimb cr have lower annual income requirements, hence the popularity.

Technically PB VS has AF but you will need to get it waived with 12x swipes.
Also due to 100k p.a., not everyone can get it la. :sweat I'm one of them, so I have to go for CIMB CR + UOB VOX combo. smile.gif
I'm few k (p.a.) shy from the requirements, and if I can get VS, I will probably cancel these two cards. laugh.gif

Thanks for pointers.

So far I'm keeping PB Sig VS, HLB Wise (just got it), CIMB WMC, AMbank VI, and MBB VS (good discount but need to cancel it cause cannot hit the RM50k(?) min spending sweat.gif )...

Oh and Aeon Watami for my monthly insurance...

Not sure if can get a better combo going though... but the CIMB WMC 15% for alcohol is really good.. loving it..

You may need to refer to the recommendation thread for further suggestion. Just to point you that in case if you don't know, AEON Watami no longer gives quarterly 3% cash back effective May. AEON thread: https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=3929192

For CIMB's Eraman discount, yes it is good if you always buy. For me, I don't buy, so it doesn't benefit me much. laugh.gif

Planning to apply a CIMB cash rebate supplementary which will get a separate cash back from principal. Do I need to specify to have separate cash back or it will automatically be separate?

Can the bill cycle date for supplementary be the same as principal ie 28th?

Found that there's a 0.05 cents finance charges on my statement laugh.gif

Despite overpaying my statement amount including the CB amount, I still get slapped with 0.05 cent penalty :/

Gonna call them and ask what are the charges for sleep.gif

I've started using this card from May 2016 until now, yet i have not receive CB.
All i received is WELCOME BONUS.
Is this normal?

AS for my understanding, May transaction, CB will be reflected in June statement.
June transaction, CB will be reflected on July statement.

As of now, i only have two Welcome Bonus which amount to RM10 each.
Is this the CB or is this different type of reward for this card?

As long as it's online, you'll get it.

I even got it for Uber during my travel trips.

Even if it's posted, you just pay according to statement balance. Never deduct the cash back and pay the balance. CIMB doesn't regard cash back as "payment", few already got financial charges due to this.

Hmm, you didnt even receive any cashback from any transaction, except the welcome bonus. By right your online transactions are eligible for 5% rebate as well as 0.2% rebate for other retail transactions. Perhaps you should contact CS for clarification.

Yes, for this card is only RM 30. The balance of RM 20 is for other cash back. If you want a pure online transactions card, then can try UOB VOX or/and PBB VS, these two cards give RM 50 cash back for online transactions.

Erm... Yes, this card doesn't give cash back of 5% for mobile bills. Even Standing Instruction gives 2%. If you want cash back for mobile bills payment via online, you may need to consider other cards like HLB Wise, UOB VOX, PBB VS..

Do you mean the rebate posted on 29 July ?

I made payment through Astro portal and get 5% cash back
*
Hi,

Yes, 29 July.

Ok thank you. I made only one transaction RM300 on Astro portal mid July.

The cash rebate posted is RM6. I should inquire then.

Any other terms and conditions to fulfil to get the 5% like a certain number of transactions?
I just cancelled the bank's saving account. Does that cause this or make it hate me? lol

Thanks.

No any terms and condition is needed to fulfill, all the while my Astro bill paid on this way.

Don't think cancelled saving account will be effected.

Hmm, you didnt even receive any cashback from any transaction, except the welcome bonus. By right your online transactions are eligible for 5% rebate as well as 0.2% rebate for other retail transactions. Perhaps you should contact CS for clarification.

Ok will do so.

Hey i have the same issue but even more weird.

All these while i've been using
Graduate Visa (number A)
Graduate Master (number B)

I made most of my purchases using Graduate Master (Number B) but this week i checked via cimbclicks i had another one called Platinum Mastercard (number C) and the charges went into this card instead. Never applied for this card and somehow it got linked to Number C account. Tried to call CS few times since this morning and i gave up because on hold for very long.

Anyone experienced this issue before?

Nope. No communication from CIMB. In fact I've yet to receive whatever Platinum card they offered.

I've some itunes recurring purchases billed directly to my "new" platinum card whilst the gold card is dormant. The purchases were linked to the Gold card btw.

Also.....I've found out CIMB has replaced all the legacy gold cards with "platinum" (entry requirement RM24K per annum LOL). Its just weird they didn't inform the customers about it.

I received sms about new pin enabled card. So far i not yet received the new card yet. Not sure why it linked to the new platinum card when i did not activate anything yet.

My concern is booking with Agoda payment option is charge to card later on November timeframe. If the pin enabled card is different from my current Graduate Mastercard, i'm afraid my booking will be void and end up no room when i go there. So far i don't know if the new pin enabled card is different number or not. Seems like i need to cancel Agoda booking and pay now instead to avoid dissapointment when i travel later.

If it is still the same card type, then card no. will not be changed. Just expiry date and CVV will be changed.

I supposed you will still need to insert your card information letter, so it will still work... I don't think Agoda will force you to pay from the same card when you book. smile.gif

Ya.
No choice in order to retain the warranty.
If based on CIMB website, this offer will be valid until end of this year. sad.gif

Hi guys,

How does CIMB bonus point work? Does it apply to CIMB CashRebate Platinum card?

Do we check them from CIMB CLICKS > More Stuff > Bonus Points?

I have been using my CIMB CashRebate Platinum for quite a few months now, but my Bonus Point is only at 100 points at CIMB Clicks? sad.gif

Thanks.

We swiped in MYR last month overseas and still got charged, so I guess there won't be any if we swipe in their local currency instead?

what you got slapped would be DCC charges which are quite high, yeap should always choose the country local currency instead

I thought CIMB's exchange rate is pretty good? Judging from my online transactions transacted in foreign currencies.
