I want to put street prices that are consistent - if this promo is only for a short while or only in some shops then it defeats the purpose. The street price list is so people can ask around any shop with this number as a reference.

i see many reviews on Extreme Pro UHS-i, but none on Extreme Plus.

if im not mistaken la the plus read is 80mbps,write 60mbps....for extreme pro read & write is 95mbps...for me i'll go for the faster write speed...

Sounds like the best bet is the Sandisk Extreme Pro UHS-I 95MB/s read, 90MB/s write - as we've tested at TTs, it has a definite speed boost compared to the 45MB/s read, 45MB/s write one.

How much are they selling them?
I usually just buy my stuff at sg.
I bought 2 extreme pro 32gb at simlim around SGD8x / each.
I also bought 2 ori NP-FM500H batteries at promo price in funan (4x sgd each) the promo price was their mistake though, didn't realise it till I inspect the packaging in the taxi.
Even so, the original price is still cheaper than prices down here in msia.

UHS-ii are designed for 4k video, min write rate of 220mb/s for 60p
in other words, those UHS 1, 95mb/s will stop instantly when trying to record 4k.

so NO, as long as your camera doesnt write 4k video into card, it will Not support the full speed.

as long as you arent crazy about bursting non stop 8-11fps for 5 sec, the extreme plus is best bang for buck now.

mastering: if u set write to both card, yes, the bottleneck will be the slow card. but u always have a buffer, so even during writing, there is always enough buffer for a few more shots (not burst thou)

You'd have to test this, as I only have a 16GB and 32GB 95MB/s read, 90MB/s write one; both are in my A99.

edpaul: Although I have the 95MB/s read/90MB/s write card, the A99 can get slow in a low burst (3FPS) sequence. So any improvement at all is welcome!

Beside Dust spot on top left hand side, pictures looks vignetting, any filter use?

Forgot to bring filter for this trip, used Toymode in-camera setting instead.

i think its a little too far... the subject doesnt pop.



my 2 cent, as long as you are not doing large prints, daytime photo you dont need to go F8... F5.6 will give you a general sharp photo for landscape due to focus on infinity give you large DOF, helps avoiding the dust spots , then go home, do your general postprocess, resize and sharpen it. the F8 sharpness wont make any diff here.

before someone try to correct me.... you will need really large DOF when u tried to snap something sharp from 1 meter in front of you to infinity, then only use F8 and above.

and for night landscape/long exposure, F8 is preferable.

Much enlightening, will keep the framing advice in mind.
Was thinking smaller aperture would help in getting the kitlens' sweet spot, made the pesky dust spot more apparent it seems :v

if can afford pay bit more and go for 666 or 777. I wanted 666 but no stock so opted for 777. Was considering the C version but paying the extra $$ does not seem to make sense for the wow factor and slightly less resonance.. The locking mechanism is better and the ball head also bigger with separate friction control and horizontal (panorama ??) axis also lockable . It makes quite a big difference vs the 555 which is basic head - one lever lock all. I use to have the previous version of 555 with twist lock leg. OK as is but after using the 777, it makes a big difference. The lens I mount is +2 kg, 400 mm Novoflex T and the setting time is significant. Older tripod need 10 sec to settle.. now under 2 sec.

I also note the 777 legs can be complete strip apart for cleaning... more so when you take it to wet or sea side.

Recommend you to pay more now than end up getting an upgrade later and spend the extra $$ like me.
