UHS-ii are designed for 4k video, min write rate of 220mb/s for 60p
in other words, those UHS 1, 95mb/s will stop instantly when trying to record 4k.

so NO, as long as your camera doesnt write 4k video into card, it will Not support the full speed.

albnok if i recall the new panasonic supports it too

Sandisk Extreme 45mbps
Sandisk Extreme Plus 80 mbps (80 read, 60 write like hazril said)
Sandisk Extreme Pro UHS-i 95 mbps

as long as you arent crazy about bursting non stop 8-11fps for 5 sec, the extreme plus is best bang for buck now.

mastering: if u set write to both card, yes, the bottleneck will be the slow card. but u always have a buffer, so even during writing, there is always enough buffer for a few more shots (not burst thou)

reply via phone, so text a bit messy

edpaul: Although I have the 95MB/s read/90MB/s write card, the A99 can get slow in a low burst (3FPS) sequence. So any improvement at all is welcome!

i think its a little too far... the subject doesnt pop.

my 2 cent, as long as you are not doing large prints, daytime photo you dont need to go F8... F5.6 will give you a general sharp photo for landscape due to focus on infinity give you large DOF, helps avoiding the dust spots blink.gif , then go home, do your general postprocess, resize and sharpen it. the F8 sharpness wont make any diff here.

before someone try to correct me.... you will need really large DOF when u tried to snap something sharp from 1 meter in front of you to infinity, then only use F8 and above.

and for night landscape/long exposure, F8 is preferable. smile.gif

Much enlightening, will keep the framing advice in mind.
Was thinking smaller aperture would help in getting the kitlens' sweet spot, made the pesky dust spot more apparent it seems :v

OH, for those who doesnt know, the Nex thread and Alpha Thread has merged into one big family now. (i know most of us open 2 tab of the seperate threads, now we can view them as one.) and since the NEX name as been removed from the Sony Alpha naming scheme and put the mirrorless under Alpha, one big family. so let make this thread more active~ smile.gif

There's what I think:
Field of View is how wide you'll able to see, in relation to angle.
Depth of Field is the focus pane/thickness, relates to distance of subject.

Or you can just look through the lens of these 2.
*
generally thats correct~

there is one more called angle of view.

i know how to works but i dont know how to explain it, but i try

35mm on APSC and 35mm on FF has the SAME angle of view but a diff Field of view
35mm on APSC and 52.5mm on FF has the SAME Field of View, but a diff angle of view.

QUOTE(lchee @ Jul 27 2014, 10:31 PM)
I just bought my A6000 from the sony fair at lowyat.  Bought it at one shop at the ground floor, I think it's fotokem.

Got myself the A6000 with kit lens + sony 16GB class 10 memory card.  Free items from fotokem include the small blue camera pouch, a camera cleaner kit, and lcd screen protector for a total cost of RM 2400.

From the fair, Sony malaysia gave me one extra battery, another pouch, but it's actually meant for handycam, so not suitable for A6000 (where i think the pouch is useless), and a body case for A6000 which I have yet to collect as they have run out of stock today.  Also, sony malaysia upgraded the warranty for my camera with kit lens to 3 years warranty.  That is the fair promotion.

Also, I bought a prime lens SEL35F18 for RM 1k.  But this has the normal Sony 1 year 3 months warranty.

I think I got a pretty good deal for this.  However, the sales person sweet talk me into buying lens filter.  I bought two lens filter, one for the kit lens SELP1650 and one for the SEL35F18.  Each lens filter cost RM100.  So total RM200 for the lens filter from this brand Steinzeiser (DMC UV 40.5mm and DMC UV 49mm).  Have I overpaid for the lens filter?

Once back home, now I am charging up the battery.  2 complaints:

1.  Why do I charge battery by connecting the cables to the camera?  Panasonic has an external battery charger where I just stick my battery to the module.

2.  How do I know when the battery is fully charged?  I see a yellow light at the side of the camera body.  It's been 4 hours since I charged and it's still yellow.  Does it take so long to charge or only the first time?
*
1. Sony is aiming to go really low for their camera price. hence they remove the unnecessary component like a external charger. (less thing to bring on traveling) a simple USB outlet and cable will do. it also will charge when you doing file transfer. the plus size, instead of spending 299rrp for a exra battery that's only 900mAh, you can easily buy a Mi 10k powerbank for less then 50myr and u still can charge it anytime anywhere.

2. on the camera it will write 100% then u know is fully charged.

Hi guys, it's been awhile since i visit this thread. Haha.

Just wanna ask, for mix cinematography + photography. Which one do you guys recommend getting? A77 or A7?
*
depend that you need a FF or APS-C will do. a mirrorless or A mount.

since you are using A700, u should have a couple of A lens, so stick with a77 II smile.gif
or if u plan to have a compact standby video ready camera, actually the A6000 fits your pocket and doesnt make a hole($) in da pocket too.

Lenses are very diff, they have shelf-life of 5years min, up to 15years.

unlike camera body or phones, which has 1 year, after a year u can see a 10% off the RRP. lens dont. infact, lens price goes up 3-5% every 2 years. and with malaysia 6% GST coming next year.... i highly doubt it will be cheaper then now...

dont bother with nissin or YN. they arent design for sony Miso.. u will face more issue then solving it. after 2-3 month find out so many feature missing compare to the Sony flash, then struggle to sell it to buy sony flash... why the hassle? dont bother 3rd party, they are cheap for a reason... not full compatibles.

i meet a nikon guy in a club, then he is using 3rd party flash, he saw me focus so easily at the club came over and ask me how to i focus, i told him the flash has AF illuminator. looking at his nissin flash, nikon i-ttl mount, has AF illuminator, but doesnt works.

so for sony compatible ah? i even highly doubt the compatible means "can mount and fire only" or full featured.

A6000 pop up flash doesnt support HSS.
A6000 pop up flash doesnt support WL HSS.

A6000 Mounted F43m and F60m Support HSS and WL HSS mode.

A6000 mounted F20m (no idea, didnt get to test it yet).
edit: A6000 mounted F20M doesnt support HSS. but still not sure about WL HSS. i think it doesnt either.

melvintcs: the F20M idea is to have a stronger 'popup' flash on standby, it cannot be used as a workhorse (mean for an event)... the battery eventually last for about/less 200 shots bounce at F5.6 (mean almost full power fired)

the F20M is like a standby flash for people that usually goes around flash-less... light traveling doesnt bring big flash and just need a flash in case flash is needed.

Thanks for all the clarity, it helped me a lot  thumbup.gif

"stronger 'popup' flash"
yes, that's all i need, i din't do photography for money, it's simply a hobby and capture those memories when hang out (especially indoor party) with friends.

price gap between F20M and F43M is too huge(rm499 vs rm1300?), that's why i dont consider it.

well, it's not urgent, i got times to do the survey and comparison within these two.  icon_rolleyes.gif
*
ahhh sorry i didnt know the price diff that much, all this while i thought F20m was like 299 (i got mine at that price) and F43m at 999rrp and 750 street. F60m at 1499rrp and 1.3 street price (got mine at 1250) (i marked the street price up a little due to lack of stock)

and yes, for casual gathering, the F20M is the best tool u can get.

further info for you. the F20 uses triple A (AAA) batteries. they are a little pricey if rely on alkaline batt (non rechargeable)... if you think you would use it often, consider investing in a simple Sanyo Eneloop 2x AAA + charger set at around 80-100. (although i prefer Maha set, a FS401S(rm110) + 4x Imedion AAA (rm55))

mind share where did you purchase it for 299?

BTW, which one is newer F20m or F20s model?
*
sorry it was the F20AM, the price should be same... i brought it when F20AM just came out... thats like nearly 4 years ago. since i got adapter from the A99, so i still use it with the adapter.

F20s is for the 'smart terminal' from Nex3/5 series. the A3000 and A6000 uses the new MIiso. (multimedia interface iso)

F20s for the Nex3/5 series
F20AM for the old Alpha hotshoe, (A100/200/300/700/900, A33/35/55/57/65/77)
F20M is for all the lastest model. finally unify as one hotshoe between A and E mount. (camera that comes after Nex6, Axxxx series and A99)
