I want to put street prices that are consistent - if this promo is only for a short while or only in some shops then it defeats the purpose. The street price list is so people can ask around any shop with this number as a reference.

well said. most of the time promotion only last for certain of time

50mm f1.8 or 35mm f1.8 better?

there's no exact answer. both output quite awesome. if u think 50mm too narrow for u, go for 35mm smile.gif

35mm take wider photo, good for group or you want to have more ppl in the photo, or items.

50mm good for 1 person or less items

am i wrong? :/ i just read it here

http://www.paulcoatesphoto.com/2013/06/whi...mm-or-50mm.html
or some old comparison

i going to get the 35mm btw...

++ points
Black and smaller, lighter as mine is black color smile.gif

about 35mm, not exactly. because sel35f18 field of view is 52.5mm equivalent with full frame camera. thus DOF still shallow if the object still a bit closer

Dof and fov does not correlate that way. Though by general rule, any lens will have a shallower dof if subject is moved closer to camera.

sry, i not so good in describe this. maybe u can help me tell our friend the difference in between 35mm and 50mm? tongue.gif

QUOTE(lchee @ Jul 27 2014, 10:31 PM)
I just bought my A6000 from the sony fair at lowyat.  Bought it at one shop at the ground floor, I think it's fotokem.

Got myself the A6000 with kit lens + sony 16GB class 10 memory card.  Free items from fotokem include the small blue camera pouch, a camera cleaner kit, and lcd screen protector for a total cost of RM 2400.

From the fair, Sony malaysia gave me one extra battery, another pouch, but it's actually meant for handycam, so not suitable for A6000 (where i think the pouch is useless), and a body case for A6000 which I have yet to collect as they have run out of stock today.  Also, sony malaysia upgraded the warranty for my camera with kit lens to 3 years warranty.  That is the fair promotion.

Also, I bought a prime lens SEL50F18 for RM 1k.  But this has the normal Sony 1 year 3 months warranty.

I think I got a pretty good deal for this.  However, the sales person sweet talk me into buying lens filter.  I bought two lens filter, one for the kit lens SELP1650 and one for the SEL35F18.  Each lens filter cost RM100.  So total RM200 for the lens filter from this brand Steinzeiser (DMC UV 40.5mm and DMC UV 49mm).  Have I overpaid for the lens filter?

Once back home, now I am charging up the battery.  2 complaints:

1.  Why do I charge battery by connecting the cables to the camera?  Panasonic has an external battery charger where I just stick my battery to the module.

2.  How do I know when the battery is fully charged?  I see a yellow light at the side of the camera body.  It's been 4 hours since I charged and it's still yellow.  Does it take so long to charge or only the first time?
*
about filter, u need to know which level/grade u purchase. for what i know, steinzeiser is common brand, and got few types of UV filter, e.g. UV, MC UV, PRO1 MC, XS-PRO1 (correct me if i were wrong...). entry level UV filter around 50-80. but if even u know they sell it overprice, who knows? company want earn money

since 2012, sony camera never bundled with external charger. i'm always advice ppl go for external charger (original sony charger pricing about RM189). about USB charging, depends how u going to charge ur camera. if attach to the plug, usually 3 hours will full. if u charge with pc, will take longer time for full charge

HVL-F43 looks bulky,  any smaller size say HVL-F20S? F20S is not compatible with A6000 right?

anyone tried YN560 II with A6000 before?
*
F20S not compatible with A6000, as F20S compatible with NEX-3, 5 series which have smart accessory terminal

anyway, i'm using F43M thumbup.gif

"stronger 'popup' flash"
yes, that's all i need, i din't do photography for money, it's simply a hobby and capture those memories when hang out (especially indoor party) with friends.

price gap between F20M and F43M is too huge(rm499 vs rm1300?), that's why i dont consider it.

well, it's not urgent, i got times to do the survey and comparison within these two.  icon_rolleyes.gif

F20M SRP RM499, meanwhile F43M SRP RM999. why i suggest F43M is because F43M flash output can be adjusted, more flexibility. of course, F20M is useful too if u just want easy & better flash

mind share where did you purchase it for 299?

BTW, which one is newer F20m or F20s model?
*
F20S is designed for NEX-3 & 5 series camera, which not compatible with A6000. F20M is the flash which compatible with A6000
