Hey guys,I wanted to sign an iPhone 13 for my wife and I saw that there is an upfront payment of Rm3293 and also monthly of Rm98 for 24 month under normal contract.Does this means the total amount I pay is Rm3293+(Rm98X24) which add up to Rm5645?

Yea that’s correct…but the 98x24 actually covers your monthly line..but total payment for the phone + 2 years is 5645

I visited alamanda maxis centre and wanted to switch from Celcom then get the iphone plan. When they did the eligibility check, i need to pay an upfront fee. What is the fee for?

Visited maxis centre today, finally got my 13 pro graphite 512. Need to add share line too, due to the reason I don’t believe (they just want to upsell), but that’s ok, just want to have the phone after 2mo hunting. Just terminate the line and protection plan, that’s it. Merry xmas!

Basically you pay upfront for your monthly bill (I think 6 months but you need to check) + any sums charged for your phone, then they credit back monthly.

Usually for port ins or new customers. Existing customers with good credit can sign up without the upfront payments.

Which maxis you went? Still got stocks? Am hunting 512gb pro max graphite.

Anyone recently got their iPhone 13 Pro with Maxis? Been trying to get a blue 256GB unit for myself but seems like it’s out of stock everywhere.

So far I’ve heard from the staff is they will restock 10-15 units daily at Maxis Center, so need to go queue in the morning before opening hours to get it. But so far I’ve checked KLCC, MV, Desa Park City - all is got stock for PRO MAX but not PRO

Meanwhile PRO 128GB still got stocks. Haiz 256GB so popular.

I cancelled the shareline too, and file a complaint, the support team noted down this centre and they said no one should tell you to take shareline for iPhone - that’s not Maxis offer and if anyone encounter this, you should reject and report to Maxis.

I got mine 13Pro 512G Graphite. That time Pro Max no stock, but Machines have, they asked to go get at Machines, Maxis employee will be at selected Machines store so you can get your plan and phone.

I got cheated too from Maxis Gardens. They force me to take Share Line during my iPhone 13 Pro Max purchase. The staff told me 1st Month is 100% waiver, 2nd and 3rd Month 50% waiver. Only on the 4th onwards I need to pay full RM48.

Turn out when I receive my latest bill (Dec 2021) it stated as 50% waiver for 1st Month and 50% waiver for 2nd Month (Next Bill). That's all

Actually, what's the benefit in getting the phone from Maxis? Will it be any cheaper than buying from Apple outright?

For someone like me, who has been using Maxis 128 all along and needed a new phone, it will be cheaper than getting from Apple but other than that, no.

If you're an existing subscriber with a 128 plan or higher and you're willing to tie up for 24 months, then it makes sense getting it from maxis on a normal contract as you'd be saving RM1k or more compared to buying from Apple outright.

On the other hand, if your monthly usage is far less than 128 or don't intend to tie yourself up in a contract as you might want to switch telcos later, then yeah, you can get the phone outright from Apple.

Yeah, I thought as much. I'm a Maxis 98 user myself that came together when I bought my iPhone 6 Plus. Kept the plan and bought a Xs Max from Apple when upgrading.

so you can save 1k if buying through maxis? i have been with maxis for years now, i assume might as well go through them for the iphone rather than apple? is there any disadvantage other than being in a contract for 2 years? will the phone be carrier locked? after 2 years can i switch telco on the phone?

No carrier lock or anything. I guess the only disadvantage is if you terminate before 2 years you need to pay penalty for you contract but phone wise it's free to use on any sim.

I just got from mid Valley after maxis from mahkota parade don't want to sell me because u need to subscribe new line 98 plan. The CS said can terminate the new line after 1 month. I went to KL instead.

Turn out, at mid Valley mcm lagi worsks.
U can't buy unless u have a new share line. Mine is 98 with 1 shared line dy. So they activate new plan instead for rm40 per month. Worst is u can't terminate within 6 months. 😭

Wanna save rm 98 ringgit, I lost toll, minyak, time, and rm40 x6 = rm240. 🤣

But still better than getting iphone x in Singapore.

I always knew Maxis is all the money and service to customers plays second fiddle. Today’s episode for me fortifies it 100%.

My contract with them and by the way I have stayed loyal despite issues cropping up every so often for no less than 40 years, has expired sometime back but I had been waiting for the iPhone 14 series to come out thus holding on renewing until now.

This morning I went to their centre to renew my contract in order to get a 14 Pro. But you know what was told to me? They do not allow existing customers to get the iPhone, not until end of the year. Only new customers signing up for new lines. How ludicrous can you get? Is this how an entity treat their customers not to mention long time loyal ones?

If anyone of senior standing attached to Maxis reads this, I think and hope you advise the management to rethink your strategies lest you slowly but surely lose your customer base just like Astro now despite their monopoly, as much like you, they are just as arrogant.

bro did you went to their official walk in centres? normally only authorised dealers will have such requirement where they only allow new sign ups to get latest iphone..... official stores dont have criterias like these afaik...

Knew someone will ask this given that it was raised before. As a matter of fact, it is to the contrary. I always for the umpteen years go to their authorized centres and as my humble abode is near Sunway, Pyramid is the usual destination. After visiting there, I went to a Maxis dealership downstairs and they have no issue whatsoever in processing my request for me. However, they didn’t have my colour of choice but promised to call me when the inventory arrives.

So, there you go. Maxis is, I reiterate, more into bulging their kitties than enhancing their customer service image which to start with, they have failed quite miserably.

I concur with your statement after visiting the Maxis branch at Mv Garden. The way they answered my questions is so contradict .. before I review my maxis profile… the sales lady said need to check stock availability first . After reviewing my profile directly said no stock. Let’s #boycottMaxis and port to other telco

The pragmatic me looks at the issues affecting the situations. If the arrogance and/or policies is a direct result of individuals or the on-site management of the stores then any admonishment should be levied on them. But in my case, if it is the company’s stand, they should be chastised as they have failed miserably the fundamentals of customers satisfaction.

Such conglomerates will not die or fade away overnight under boycotts. But if they do not make amends, they will eventually meet that fate as the public at large is getting wiser.

Went to Maxis Sunway Pyramid, asked whether can buy in store anot and the staff said in-store stock only for commercial sales (Customer who signup with a Principal line + 1 Supplementary line). Lol pretty disappointed to listen this especially from Maxis

Yeah. Since the pandemic, they stopped offering stocks for plans via walk-ins.

Actually you can order from Maxis website, then select pick up from Maxis Centre, then choose Pyramid outlet from there. All within minutes.

I know because I’ve did that before for the previous iPhone. 😁

Ive been a maxis postpaid user for very long. Currently using my Note10+ with Maxis. When I applied for Note10+, this is the SS2 branch, they had an offer of 2 Note10+s for one price but need to subscribe to Maxis 158 and add one new supplementary line. I did as they said, and sold the other Note10+ within 6 months of my contract. lol. Now my Note10+ has been with me for 2 years plus. At that time both phones was priced at RM250+ i think, which at that time was quite a good price for 2 phones. But yeah, maxis has always been like that. Not sure if its to lure in new customers or what. But I agree with everyone here, they should have a separate deal for loyal customers. Ive been using maxis for at least 10+ years i think. Since prepaid and changed it to postpaid. lol

Walk-in to maxis citta mall recently to collect my phone, suddenly they told me to add 1 sup line+accesories(3rd party PD&cable). Feel like unfair for me as a customer bcoz during preorder they didn't highlight this shit. They upsell too much.

I thought this apply to specific branch. From your case, so normally most of maxis store will use this policy to existing customer. The main reason i choose to walk-in is normal contract with epp. thru on9 can't do epp like blue telco have.

So did you end up taking the supplementary line and accessories?

most of the maxis dealer/partners have this add on policy to increase their revenue. especially the one in citta mall, didn’t have good experience with them…official maxis walk in centers normally don’t have such policy..

To address the issue more accurately, the first thing to note is there are 2 types of Maxis centres. First being their own service centre, second is the dealers.

For dealers, Maxis somehow, which I actually do not agree with, allow them to conduct business how commercially they deem fit. In this case, requiring add ons. For their own centres, company policies must be adhered to. For iPhone 14 series, for the first time idiotically they came up with the adopted questionable policy as stated.

This, I reiterate just fortifies and justifies all the complaints levied on them throughout.

Went to a few maxis dealers to enquire regarding contract extension with my 128 plan, was told that whatever plan I’m on now, need to add one subline before they will sell me any iPhone 14, and to make matter worse, my 2 sublines are currently occupied, and I need to upgrade my plan to 158 so that the new sup-line can be added. How ridiculous was that?!. I decided to go maxis center in gardens and the incharge personnel told me that the allocation for walk in has all taken up for the day but they have stock if I add on one sup-line. Maxis is full of crap now!

I thought such practice is only by the smaller dealers/partners. It surprised me that even the official center of Maxis practices such upselling tactics. They can basically claim anything they want saying that all the stocks fully allocated for walk in and they are just hogging it to sell to whomever that are willing to buy into their upselling plans.

With all these sudden policy change by Maxis in trying to upsell their plans and supplementary lines before allow walk in to sign new contract with new phone, will complaining to Apple on this conduct by Maxis will have any effect on them as they are one of Apple's carrier?

nowadays I ordered phone online at maxis website, dont have this kind of nonsense need apply extra line just to get a new phone

Guys and particularly those who had my same experience, this is for your information.

After a barrage of complaints from me, Maxis Recovery Team called me. They then arranged for me to go to their service centre and get the 14 Pro that I wanted without any conditions.

The centre with the stock was [at TTDI. I took the liberty to ask them whether it’s their requirement to have existing customers add on before being allowed to renew their contract to purchase an iPhone and I was given a definitive NO. Does that mean that much like their dealers, each centre is given a free hand to conduct their business the way they deem commercially viable? If that’s the case, then for such a conglomerate. It leaves much to be desired.

So, those who are still looking to get a unit, take note. However, with Maxis, you never know what can happen despite what they tell us.

If at all you want to lodge complaints on this particular issue, Apple is not the right entity to approach. In fact, I don’t think external parties can interfere since it’s a commercial stand but correct me if I am wrong. The only recourse is to exercise your customer rights and opt not to give them your business. Port over to another telco.

Why waste the subsidy when I’m gonna be using the plan anyway. So mightself just get a phone at cheaper price.

If you are in Selangor, go to their centre in TTDI. As I have stated in my earlier post, when asked, they said there’s no requirement for renewing a contract. The person I dealt with is Rahimi. Of course, it’s provided they have stock.

Wow, interesting… been reading the last couple of pages and didn’t think maxis could sink any lower but apparently they have, hahaha…

I’m still patiently waiting for my wife’s contract to run out next month before we sign a contract for a new iPhone, but looking at all these comments here I think I better just try to order online as and when the stock becomes available than try my luck at maxis centres

I wish I could threaten to port out but I can’t.. I’m using their broadband services and have unlimited data but more importantly, they are the only one with decent coverage in my housing area, hahaha… Anyways.. it’s strange that every iPhone launch this kinda thing comes up… You never see them adding any such BS T&Cs for their Galaxy Notes and S-whatever Ultra and what not…

Looks like Maxis is having an issue. I porting out to other telco due to shitty line. It is almost 24 hours , i have yet to received the port out message from maxis.

I was surprised when i google about it and seeing many having the same issue. I call CS to enquire about it and was told 24 to 72 hours due to "system upgrade"
Maxis seriously BS, i told them if i don't get the message today i will report to MCMC. Their legal team call me back saying that i should received by 6p.m (ngam ngam 24 hours)

yup, nowadays really need to wait 24 hours to get the sms but normally after reply the sms, within few hours new telco sim card can use

but you will be surprised when u googled it, there are some ppl having issue porting out of maxis

maxis CS told me of their current policy
- no longer processing MNP on weekends
- no longer doing it at nighttime

all on weekday, daytime.

i recently port and the MNP process during weekends. haha. Got a message at 7 pm on Friday night and fully ported in on Sunday evening.

Made complain to MCMC regarding maxis trying to upsell their plan, got reply from their customer relations after a few days, offered me my iphone 14 pro max with ready stock, can be picked up right away, together with 1 month bill discount. Told them it is too late... Gonna port out to celcom anyhow.

For me i contacted maxis QBM Penang yesterday morning,
no stock available. But shortly after lunch they contacted me that black color 256gb stock arrived.
I straight away reserved and picked up my phone just now afternoon.
Smooth and easy.

No such bullshit either need new line or sub line or PWP.
Contacted them yesterday asking for stock then today already picked up my ip14 PM black color.
Smooth and fast. Normal or zerolution also ok. But i opt for normal contract cos the phone cheaper.

I went to Gardens Maxis Center today asking on the Stock Availability for Iphone 14 Pro, ended got the answer whereby to get the new Iphone, you must pair it with new number.... i asked why can't I subscribe to the phone using my existing family plan & phone number. they told me due to limited stock, they prioritise the phone for new customer by now and ask me to perhaps ask again when the demand is not that high anymore.....

Complain to MCMC, jot down the date and time and the sales person name. Maxis will get back to u very fast.

You do realize that under their PRIME plan with ‘unlimited’ data, there is still a cap, albeit quite high, at 300gb.

Went to maxis the gardens, not just they tell me to subscribe to a new share line, I also have to pay an amount of upfront, even though I am asking for zerolution. This is ridiculous.
Two years ago I got iPhone 12 pro online from their website, without the need for any upfront.

Bro seems like The gardens maxis got such issues.

I suggest to walk-in since online treats you like that.
Pretend bodo did not check anywhere before.

Even when I walked-in, different branch offered differently.
One does not allow Zerolution, but have to pay full upfront and still be contracted.
One allowed Zerolution but have to pay some upfront.
One allowed Zerolution with nothing need to pay upfront.

Sick, right?

what the, is it ? Didn't know about this until you mentioned it . I got my zerolution plan at Sunway pyramid few years back , one is the 8 plus and second one is the 11 pro without paying anything .

Yes, this is true in my experience.
When I want to take iP13PM, within 2hr at 2 different Centres get 2 different offers.
1 Centre say not eligible, can only take contract with device prepaid in full, another Centre allowed me to take not only iP13PM but also 45mm Watch7 with no upfront and no need to change rateplan.

the 1 with zerolution+partial upfront was from few months before the above.

i suggest, if you are not agreeable to what is promoted, walk-in few months after just to see if they change the treatment.

while sometime maxis agent sucks, but zerolution usually need upfront for new customer, and upon CTOS checking not in red.
existing customer depends on yor rating in their system if not wrg, but still if tak layak will still need upfront payment. its written in the FAQ.

I'm now on maxis family plan and I wish maxis can give a better Iphone offer.

Currently they are referring to RM 48 plan which basically no different with 24 mths installment with 0% interest from Machines.

I believe your reference is on the Zerolution Contract. If you subscribe to a higher $ plan you can get the iPhone under normal contract which will give you quite some savings.

Zerolution is not worth it as taken cognizance by yourself.

Yup. Not worth taking it under family plan. I hope Maxis can give a better offer for family plan subscriber.
