Opted: Picked up Penang Outlet

I opted for pickup at a maxis outlet I’m familiar with. On 28 I text the staff if I’m able to go and pickup. He said normally “based on the SOP” ü need to receive text message informing ü to collect only ü can go collect haha. But his manager kind enough help me check my stock reach, and let me collect it on 29th haha

Funny fact, I was so kancheong I went 8am, then I notice their outlet opens at 9am. So waited outside for an hour. Thank god I didn’t went there coming back empty handed.

Opted: Delivery to Penang House

Since 28th he received status, assigning driver for his package. But till now 30th 3am. Receive nothing and nö updates.

Unfortunately he is abit f-up cuz I just saw previous post that during delivery collected need IC verification. Problem is he order from her mum’s Maxis acc. But phone is under his own number, his own name, but main acc owner is his mom. the worst part is, his mum is at KL, while he is working in Penang. So he opted for delivery to send it to Penang. Not sure what’s gonna happen, but will keep ü guys updated on how it going to be. At the moment, Maxis still “Assigning our best driver” and not much has happen. Hope for the best for him. While I write this post with my BT15PM HAHAAHAH

Afaik he plans to try to videocall his mom if verification is needed, don’t know if they accept or not

Not sure yet, as his device haven’t receive any updates or what so ever. So we only can wait and see. Normally they will do that?

Nö lä, he asked his mom’s permission. Bukan haram ambik acc mak beli kekekek! He just got back to me, he receive it today 6pm, Delivery guy just call account owner which is his mum for verification, then he went down to pickup from the delivery guy. Nö Machine Thumbprint all. Phewwww

Based on my every year change haha, normally is 6months only open for 98 and 48 package if I’m not mistaken lä.

This year my friend get to order cuz it’s open for 48 on preorder day. Which is a first for maxis, normally 48 don’t have packages provided on launch day, until 6 months later

Collected on Saturday 30th, they don’t have thumbprint all, but the catch is, the package will always be the owner of the maxis acc name, need the person present with IC only can handover package.

Well due to some family issue, he has to buy a plan for his mum to come Penang too, So lucky for him. Or else, normally the package will be send back to courier 7 days later, then Maxis will call ü and ask why ü didn’t accept the package, and proceed reshipping or pickup from store. But same need owner present on the spot with IC.

Find it very unacceptable they don’t even accept Videocalling verification. We also did went to maxis and ask why such stupidity can me implemented. What I he stated, is to prevent fraud cases, and last year, a lot of lost phones due to “delivery” so this year SOP very strict. Even couriers also susah kerja hahah

Actually is based on stock availability, in Penang a few of my friends, mainly NT & BT got their phone on 30th or 2nd. They went 29th with the “out for delivery message” but nö luck only WT & BT available. So I would assume, the stocks are distributed based on availability. And not every store the same I guess.

Normally lä, based on my few years experience buying Apple, and a few months working in switch haha, 2nd batch normally lä, reach in 2-3 weeks prior from Launch date (29/9), 3rd batch and 2nd batch normally comes together if lucky, or else, delay 1 week for 3rd batch.

So ü can say like :
2nd & 3rd batch - 2-4 weeks
4th & 5th batch - 5-10 weeks

All based on stock availability and quantity also lä. But normally the time frame is like that
