Anyway now with GTX 20xx coming, I wonder ............ ..what to do with my GTX 10 series?!?!?!

Oh and I think Nvidia should name them as GTX 11xx but well, 20xx does look nicer. It won't hit superstitious number like 13 or 14 or whatever.

With my 980ti still serving me well (getting ~70 fps), I'm in no hurry. Just hoping Team Red's new product will give Team Green a run so that us consumers can benefit.

and my psu is only normal CM 500w ( not 80 plus certified) .

Even a freesync 144hz is ok. The 144hz is more important and much easier to play dota on my 165hz monitor.

The only reason to upgrade your PSU is your PSU.

If the current PSU is not good for GTX 1060, it won't be good for your GTX 1050 Ti as well. Their difference is like some 40 - 50w.

Oh and no 80plus doesn't mean not good, with 80plus doesn't mean good.

80plus tells you power efficiency, it doesn't tell you how good the components are.

i think so far still ok 1080p 60hz for my eye:D

u right, my current PSU is CM extreme plus 500, which already 6years old
it used to power up my HD4850 before which TDP much higher than 1050ti.

so far still ok with 1050ti, but if i want to upgrade to 1060, i might need upgrade the PSU as well.

Trust me

Even when the fps is below 60, theres a big difference when looking at the same thing with 144hz compared to 60hz.

Once tasted 144, can't go back to 60 anymore

U saying refresh rate alone or this "difference" includes gsync/freesync?

Lets see from top of my head numbering history

FX5200 - 9800GTX+ numbering 1
GTX280 - GTX980 numbering 2
GTX1080 - ? what will numbering 3 like?

40fps with 144 is better than 40fps with 60

Because 144hz monitor refresh more, so the stutter is a lot less, not to mention hard to see tearing even on vsync off

Yes, 770 should be able to support gsync. My old 660 Ti is also possible.

gsync requires display port, some cards don't have the port even though qualify for gsync,

as hard itch as it seems in buying GSYNC but i choose 1070 first with bonus money bye bye 770 after 4 years well served hahahaha

I don't usually install the latest drivers as they become available. Nvidia don't exactly have a good track record with their driver updates recently. Am currently still on version 376.33 and getting a stable 71-76 fps with my setup

Nope. Just corruption. Happens on both Microsoft Edge and Chrome.

previous driver also happened the same but after i cleaned install again with DDU & updated 14393.726 so far haven't show any issue yet.

updated to latest driver. stable and consistent FPS.

2-3 years can lor... Most AAA titles are playable except those that can't optimize well. Even if you own 1070/1080 also got many issues one. Eye'ing on Volta series man! I want know the price within RM800+ then can liao.

Played around with the fan profile settings for my Zotac GTX1060 AMP.

Previously stock profile idling 0% fan 44 degree Celsius.

Now idling set to 30% fan speed 36-38 degree Celsius. With air cond on (24 temp settings) can get 32 degree Celsius.

Gaming wise, previously hover around 65-68 degree Celsius.

Now set the threshold to 50% fan speed, temp dropped quite a lot, to 50-55 degree Celsius average.

Should have configure the fan profile sooner.

That's what I always do. Set the RPM to the speed that you're comfortable with the noise.

Actually at 70% I still only hear my front case fans.

But now with threshold properly set, it's all good, 30% to keep it around 36-38 idling rather than or 0% (default).

Not sure why the hate for Zotac in local forums though, it's like it must be Asus or gtfo
