I am using gtx1070, new, less than a week or so. I play rust, not really maxed settings. Is it normal to have stuttering? I think its a graphic problem, not internet problem. Haiz how to explain this, need to record video then show to you guys..
*
After installing 1070, I tried Heaven Benchmarking 4 times and all 4 times also got shuttering.

Now after a week, play CS:GO I didn't notice any shuttering or I just don't give a shyt about it. Hence did not notice.

Haven't download the latest driver though.

No FPS drop when stutter. Core Speed is at 700+.

Haven't try playing AAA titles games. Haha. Waiting for Witcher 3 for price drop. brows.gif

*
I'm no pro in PC stuff but may I know what monitor are you using? 60hz or 144hz?

Try to download Heaven Benchmark and set Quality: Ultra, Tessellation: Extreme, Stereo 3D: Disable, Muti Monitor: Disable, Anti Aliasing: x8, Full Screen and your resolution. Run the benchmark and see.

Should be around average FPS 95 and above. Mine is 96.4 average FPS.

*
What?! GTX 1070 can't drive X34? I think with average 50 fps + Gsync is good enough to game in 1440p.

I'm using GTX 1070 and planning to buy X34a le... rclxub.gif

Depending on game and settings, 40-60 fps from 1070 on X34 should not be a problem.
*
Yeap. Of course can't maxed out all of the settings in 1440p Ultra Widescreen.

With Gsync capabilities, I think it will run just fine but of course if budget is not an issue by all means go with GTX 1080ti tongue.gif

QUOTE(Someonesim @ Mar 17 2017, 09:47 AM)
It's around that, depends on games, but you know PCMR always want minimum 60 whatĀ  biggrin.gifĀ

I'm using 1070 with X43. I'll say GTX1070 are absolute minimum requirement for gaming on ultra wide 1440P.
*
Hah... FPS numbers above 60 do matter sometimes. Anything below 60 FPS I'll go nuts but with Gsync, 50 FPS also will fell smooth I guess.

I've never experience Gsync before though. Based on video at youtube, 40 FPS with Gsync works well.

The sad thing is X34a is more expansive than a new GTX 1080ti. LOL puke.gif

Oh... and yes... GTX 1070 is the minimum requirement to run Ultra Widescreen monitor.

40fps with G-sync is playable. I get only 40-50fps in The Division ( few months back ), but comparing g-sync on & off, it definitely help a lot. Eventhough can notice lower fps, but it felt smooth and gameplay are bearable.

I had been eyeing ultrawide monitor for long time since it exist, then last year spend months deciding if I should do it  laugh.gif  I think it's worthy 'investment' since monitor typically last at least few years. Sadly X34A are even more expensive now, compare few months back when I bought #AllHailWeakRinggit  sweat.gif
*
I see... I'm still thinking about it. Now X34a cost RM 4,699. Last month was RM 4,299. cry.gif

What GPU are you using at the moment?

QUOTE(craxors @ Mar 17 2017, 11:04 AM)

to most people.. that the most problematic issue...
*
Hah.. I'm one of them now. Go Ultra wide but not many games supported it natively right now. Go for 27" IPS 1440p like a small upgrade from my current 27" TN 1080p.

Prefer playing on a big screen. Despite only getting 30 FPS on my PS4, I'm still enjoying playing games on 50" LED.

What ? Price increase was recently ? Few months back I bought RM4250

Using GTX1070 ( Palit gamerock )
*
I think just recently. Ah... You stated it on your 'Rig'. Didn't see it.

You played The Division with everything maxed out and gets average 40 to 50 FPS? Did you try playing Rise of the Tomb Raider?

Want to know about your experience playing it on your monitor.

Thanks in advance!

Cant recall exactly but should be max ( maybe lower AA ). Getting 50-60fps when still using GTX970 and 1080P, then getting 40-50fps when 'upgrade' to GTX1070 and X34A  doh.gif  Dont have rise of the tomb raiser, only it's predecessor Tomb Raiser, maybe wait really cheap Steam sales only buy ( bought Tomb Raider really cheap also  rclxms.gif  )

Didnt play much games nowadays, but one game definitely must play for ultrawide monitor owner, DOOM  cool2.gif  quite friendly for GTX1070, getting 70-80fps ( depends on AA setting ), and it's few months ago, newer driver and game update should give more boost for fps  thumbup.gif
*
Right now I'm still waiting for Witcher 3 sales on Steam. Hah

Doom I will definitely picking it up when on sales as well! rclxms.gif
Doom is greatly optimized I think. Looks great even running in GTX 1060 3gb!

Thanks for your feedback as well.

A quick search at lelong the lowest X34a price is RM 4,369.00. Might still have old stock some where.

I am happy with my 27" IPS 1440p monitor. It will last me for years. Which also means I don't need to upgrade high/top end GPU for next round unless hands itchy  laugh.gif .
*
I'll stick to 27" if I were you. My hands are itchy, wanna try 1440p after purchasing GTX 1070. Grahpic Cards already expensive then need to add 1440p monitor. The price can build a new PC already. doh.gif

All thanks crappy paper money

1070 with 1440p 60hz non ultrawide is what i got now

Dont think i can go deeper any longer unless i play FOREX to be rich faster with higher risk rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

Look for instalment plans but monthly almost 400. cry.gif

QUOTE(CPURanger @ Mar 17 2017, 02:20 PM)
Yeah I will keep my 27" monitor for a long time. Speaking of which, I have two more months instalment to go for the monitor. Time pass so fast

Witcher 3 and Doom also in my wishlist too, hope to get it soon.
I am still thinking whether to upgrade Kabylake. By the time Cannonlake come out, it will be more expensive due to forex
*
Wah... 2 more months! During the early stages sure suffer alot. LOL. I kira-kira 12 months instalment almost RM400. 24 months RM200 but 2 years........ bangwall.gif

QUOTE(Someonesim @ Mar 17 2017, 02:46 PM)
Dont start upgrade

My story:
Bought X34, current card cannot tahan
Bought 1070, current case cannot fit
Bought H440, WC need redo

Lucky I havent trigger on processor upgrade, that time not convince on Kabylake upgrade.
*
Hehe... I don't need to upgrade already. Just a monitor and it will be perfect. Bought my GTX 1070 after CNY. Don't wanna play any games til I got X34A!!! devil.gif

Can, like others said, 40-60FPS, it depends on game. Eg. I played Mankind Divided, I have to lower the shadow and etc, otherwise sometimes it went below 40. Rise of Tomb Raider no problem, 55-70fps.

To adjust those settings, like lowering the shadows, thats what triggering me to buy 1080Ti. Haven't tried Mass Effect Andromeda yet, if have to lower everything, memang 1080Ti lah ni...  bangwall.gif
*
Hmm... Most youtuber said that if you set shadow at high or low, it's just the same thing during gameplay. You won't benefit on anything. The only thing that is stressing is your PC.

I never try it as well. Hah. Lazy wanna test stuff... sweat.gif

I know I have to sacrifice All Ultra setting when gaming on Ultra Widescreen. Don't know I'm okay with it or not. LOL

If not... gotta vomit for GTX 1080.

I think depends on what you upgrade from. Most people ( in reddit ) upgrade from smaller lower resolution display like 24-27, those already on larger sharper display like 28"/32" 4K dont botherĀ  laugh.gif
*
16:9 you can't see much on the side. Despite playing games on 50", the character you are using is already taken 30% of the screen. Playing Horizon and can't see dino rushing to me on the side. Quite frustrating.

21:9 ration will definitely much more enjoyable as you can see the side more.

If go for 16:9 ratio 1440p will be the comfort zone for GTX 1070 and my wallet. LOL

I think it was about the lighting settings, can't remember. If you set to all ultra, owhh man..it was lagging on some areas of the game, I think it was 25 - 30fps. If you are willing to sacrifice some of the ultra settings, that is fine, 50-70fps  biggrin.gif
*
Mid to high setting on 1440p will be nicer than all Ultra 1080p?

I choose moderately high refresh rate at 1440p oppose to sharper 60hz 4k because after seeing what 144hz is like, the 60hz does not feel that smooth anymore.

I think the sweet spot will be 3840x2160 120hz, but display port don't have enough bandwidth for that. Hopefully monitor and GPU makers will agree on TB3 thru USBc ports soon with very low input lag.
*
Good choice. 144hz will always be smoother.
