1080Ti is still nowhere to be found though and that makes me sad

If Strix is already priced at RM4.3k, Poseidon maybe they'll slap RM5k tag on it. Ridiculous!

I am not an expert in custom water-cooling like some of the other sifus here but I managed to assemble my own custom water-cooling setup on my own. It's relatively plug-and-play with the tubings, especially if you go for the soft tubings one. Like what you do with normal household plumbing chores. and with EK, their manuals on how to install the block is usually well-made and written, i think with careful readings anyone can do it.

And ya, it's a whole lot cheaper to buy a normal FE version and get yourself a single-slot waterblock, and I say it'd perform better in regards with heat dissipation as compared to Asus Poseidon offering. Normal 1080Ti would cost around RM3.7k plus an EK waterblock coupled with its backplate (not really necessary) costs around RM800 including shipping. Or maybe wait for Zotac to release their ArcticStorm, usually comes with a more make-sense price.

AIB also produce FE version. At RM3700, you know its FE of most AIB. Or is there any cheaper 1080Ti currently than the RM3700 tag I've seen all over the places?

I am now contemplating whether to get a Zotac FE edition (nice 5-year warranty!) paired with EK GPU block or wait for a bit more for them to release their ArcticStorm card (with no release date yet). Not satisfied with the performance of my heavily-OCed 980Ti pushing frames on the X34A ultrawide monitor.

yea 1080Ti is teh way for the X34. 980Ti has shown its age as well. Retiring it soon

Titan Xp and 1080Ti? not much i guess especially when you factor in the huge $500 price difference between them. It's a toy for a true bangsawan really who accepts nothing but teh best

not really la bro. not turning this into PC vs console things. Scorpio isn't even out yet but they dare to promise 4k gaming on it and well, now waiting for how much will it cost. If it's competitively priced, there you have it; a machine capable of 4k gaming if 4K is really that important of a factor in gaming for you. I'm merely saying that for a satisfying 4K gaming experience, even on PC, it'd cost substantial amount of money as of now.

Agreed on the variations of people defining what's satisfying for them. But if you ask me, if it's 4K, though non-native, like what they did to Horizon Dawn on PS4 Pro is definitely impressive IMO. That level of optimizations for such a measly hardware is impressive nonetheless. Therefore I can imagine how much powerful the Scorpio would be if the devs back it up with good games. Anyway this is a really off-topic thing here so I'll make it as brief as possible. I've read an article before regarding on how Microsoft is trying to close the gap between console and PC gaming by giving the Scorpio a Win10 as its primary OS. Not sure how true it'd turn out to be since everything is still speculation but I'd welcome it with an open heart if it would result in better optimizations for PC gaming in general. Or maybe I watched too much of Digital Foundry Scorpio analysis video.

The ArcticStorm sadly cost lesser than mine. I already made my purchase since end of last month and waited for the EK stuff to come. Then suddenly Zotac announced that the AS version is releasing end of this month.

Anyway its ok since the EK FC terminal is protuding out (preffered) instead of under the block like the AS version.

Hopefully Vega cant beat the current Pascal lineups la so that Nvidia wont pancut early. dont think Nvidia knows how to use minyak lintah also

Too long without competition isnt good. If Vega beats Ti that would result Nvidia revising its pricing, it would do us good for the future. 😁
