just curious, u guys really like 34" ultrawide monitor meh?

I tried it few times, find that the view very narrow. I preferred 32" 16:9.

(Anyway I'm soooooo buying 1080 ti)

theyre not on the 1080p ultrawide, its 1440p IINM

so its quite an upgrade from standard 1080p
*
yeah i means the 3440 X 1440. Looks kinda vertically narrow to me. I did measure it from show room before, the height is slightly shorter than our standard 16:9 monitor. (27" 1080p)

When I saw the PC requirement, speechless  sweat.gif  cant even fit minimum requirement for CPU, RAM just minimum fit, GPU just pass only  sad.gif
You meant not tall enough ? Personally I like it for 1. Movie without black bar 2. Two browser side by side but still comfortable dpi than 4K ( font too small  laugh.gif  )
*
haha ya, not 'tall' enough, so don't have the 'immense' feel.

Anyway just my own opinion..

I think depends on what you upgrade from. Most people ( in reddit ) upgrade from smaller lower resolution display like 24-27, those already on larger sharper display like 28"/32" 4K dont bother  laugh.gif
*
yeah... anyway myself is planning to upgrade from my very old 27" (1080p)

3440 x 1440 gets you more viewing area. To give you an idea, refer to the pix. That means in game, you will be able to see more
[attachmentid=8605242]

haha yeah, but if you play some RTS game it will force limit your view for fiar game laugh.gif laugh.gif

Anyway thanks for sharing, myself are more into 'immense' experience hence a larger screen which 'slightly' go beyond my sight of view is ideal. (And yes I'm not into VR!)

Acctually I'm wondering if we get any advantages for new rts like dawn of war3 and sudden strike 4  last time 4:3 then 16:9 now 21:9 latter 360:9are?😂😂😂
*
Mabuk lar tuan, just VR 360 aaaaaaal the way.

QUOTE(Someonesim @ Mar 20 2017, 03:40 PM)
Really depends on 'attitude' of game developers. Some  sweat.gif  developer like Blizzard actually cut Overwatch's 16:9 picture into 21:9 ( with much lesser FOV )  doh.gif  and call it a day ( not sure if change  now )
*
I remember last time Bioshiok did the same...

QUOTE(SSJBen @ Mar 20 2017, 07:59 PM)
Everyone perceives motion fluidity differently. There is no "correct" answer to this.

100hz to 165hz is absolutely noticeable to me. But I've asked many to participate in a "blind test" where I do not tell what the refresh rate is set to and most actually cannot tell the difference between 100hz, 120hz, 144hz and 165hz apart. In fact some actually perceive 100hz to be the most 'natural' refresh rate.

Convention wisdom says that the higher the refresh rate, the better. If money is no object and the rig is capable, why not just get the best? Reality is however; most people have a budget constraint. Getting a 165hz monitor without a rig to push it is pointless and the opposite is true as well. Getting a 1080Ti to play at 1080p60 is equally a waste of money.
*
If I buy 1080ti now (waiting for Asus Strix) I will be using it with 1080p monitor tongue.gif tongue.gif I still haven't decide which monitor to go to. My plan is 2K@ 100hz +.

Saw that's come concern over the 2.5 slot (esp some of us who are using cube casing)

Currently I'm using cube casing with super-duper fatty Asus GTX680 Direct CUii, a brick that occupied 3 slots in my case but so far so good.

I guess the new 2.5 doesn't matter then? (unless use micro case)

What cube case you use ?
I'm using Palit 1070 gamerock, superduper huge card, cant fit Corsair Air 240 ( GPU too tall )  bangwall.gif
*
Mine is Fractal Design Node 804, and thanks to my G-card my radiator have to installed on top instead of front side as recommended by user manual doh.gif doh.gif

That's how it looks like now: (really wanna change the new 1080ti strix...)

Not going for 4k, maybe in the next 5 year  sweat.gif

Ultrawide 3440x1440 (100hz) is enough for me and 1080 Ti is the sweet spot for it.
Fallout 4 - 80-100fps in the diamond city
Rise of tomb raider= 90-100 fps (when start of the game climbing snow mountain) 75-95 fps at the desert climbing the cliff
Watchdog 2 - 50-64fps
Elite Dangerous - 100fps all the time including planetary landing with ultra settings

and this card is set to silent mode  biggrin.gif
*
Whoa, may I ask while using 3440 X 1440, all setting set to max?
