I saw this new plan from Celcom. I'm still currently using the i68 plan way back since iPhone 4S.

This new one looks interesting, better to go for this one?

I'm more Internet than phone calls.

It says there 3GB for a limited time only. Wonder what is the real rate will be. 2GB maybe? Since 2GB is what you get with RM38 on Xpax now. Tempted to go for this if it has 4G

even lowyat front page already state it's permanent as long as you subscribe during the promotional period.

currently promo period, you get 3GB per month. As long as you do not change to other plan, you will enjoy 3GB per month for as long as you like.

if you change plan or discontinue the plan for 1 month and rejoin back, you will not get the promo quota anymore. you will only enjoy the normal 2GB per month.

There are different versions to this if you read in the comments on the article at LYN front page. Some say will last forever, but some say will only last for 6 months. And all of them said they got the info from CS. And the one I called just now could not give a definite answer. I'll go to a local branch tomorrow to get an answer and apply.

as usual. not everyone on the same page. yes, better go to their office and ask. heck, if you have connection, go ask the manager or something
oh, and go record the conversation. if the counter say permanent 3gb but after 6 months they revert to 2gb can sue them. heh

38 for uox, how much u need to topup to stay active? 50 perhaps? And 38 is only for 2gb for internet.

For this plan 38/month and u get 3gb of data.

Macam interested. hmm.gif

Currently using prepaid uox, kalau nak covert to this plan, berapa upfront charge et cetera?

What faiz said above also correct, i paid rm38 only for 2gb data. Belum kira lagi dengan additional prepaid topup cost for calls et cetera.

This one only rm38 with 3gb data, plus 50 mins call and 50 sms free. Quite suitable with my usage. Sekarang call pun guna whatsapp call saja.

Currently using U Mobile P50 postpaid plan, should I change to this one? If 3GB lifetime, I'll switch to Celcom straight away. Also, Celcom has better LTE coverage.

Weird, I went and switch from Maxis postpaid MNP to this package together with my sup-line, no-payment involved..........
just fill up form, they give me the simcard, and ask me wait until Maxis terminate your current Sim-card (which is no-service).
then simply replace to celcom simcard........... he even gave me the celcom sim-card as standby, and according to the sales person,

an extra stamp duty of rm10.60 apply to your 1st bill + pro-rated usage from the day you start use it to the cycle date + monthly usage after the cycle date month, which is all together in the 1 bill..........

we'll see~~~~

then simply replace to celcom simcard........... he even gave me the celcom sim-card as standby, and according to the sales person,

an extra stamp duty of rm10.60 apply to your 1st bill + pro-rated usage from the day you start use it to the cycle date + monthly usage after the cycle date month, which is all together in the 1 bill..........

we'll see~~~~
*
Same like me. Just now went to Blue Cube Pavilion. Change from Hotlink Prepaid to Celcom38. Will have to wait 1 - 3 days. No payment needed. No pay per use after reached 3gb/2gb.
The only thing as they didnt know when the promotion is end. (Additional 1gb data)

i asked bluecube staff about this. they said can.
how fast the process, it depends on their system.
from other telco to celcom, it takes 1-3 working days.

According to the sales person,
rm 10 is the stamp duty, which is a standard similiar like what you apply Internet line from ISP, i guess is compulsory,
as for the 60sen, huhu, everybody know la huh siapa punya masterpiece,

as for the day you start use till your cycle date, an example, your cycle date which your data will be refresh, and is also your bill date is 4th of May,

24th april - 4th of May got = 11days.
the day you start use till your cycle date =
rm38 / 30days then * 11days of usage = rm 13.93333 -> masuk rm 14 la ok, easy count.

then apply GST , rm 14 + 6% = RM14.84

Then , for the month of May to June = rm 38 + 6% GST (Again, masterpiece from... u know) = rm40.30

so the 1st bill you are suppose to receive by June 4th, will be like

Rm10.60 + rm 14.84 + rm 40.30 = RM65.74

THIS IS WHAT MY SALESPERSON TOLD ME.

End of report~~~~ thanks for reading. tongue.gif

nah... the supp line package not tempting at all with only 500mb data for RM30 monthly. better add on RM8 can get 3gb data.

moreover, now ppl using whatapps call. using data only. pointless to have free calls between supp and main lines.

perfect explanation. the 3gb data also will be pro rated on your first month I guess.

based on the example above,
3gb/30 days x 11 days = 1.1 gb data for the first cycle.

Existing celcom subscriber will get change cause celcom don need to worry mnp process failed. Anyhow we pay now or later bill also will show later. But for mnp customer they can't ask u to may cause they dono later ur mnp will pass or not. This apply to all telco.

Has anyone noticed this page on Celcom's website regarding 4G LTE?

The thing I'm trying to point out is this:
QUOTE
Enjoy FREE Celcom 4G LTE access for a whole year!
From now till 31 December 2015, you can enjoy Internet speeds like no other with complimentary Celcom 4G LTE access worth RM10 per month when you subscribe to any Mobile Internet monthly plan or Celcom First Data plan.

What does that mean I wonder. That 4G LTE is provided for free until the end of 2015 and from 2016 onwards you will be charged RM 10 per month to use 4G LTE?

I'm a current Hotlink user and I'm really interested in switching over but I'm just checking out some fine prints before doing it.

lte or not? RM38 is value for money plan for now unless telco yellow, green and orange put out the better plan.

Ask yourself, do u need LTE or bigger data quota? in fact i'm using surfmore 50 of green telco that only gives data only and without bundled call, text.

I still going to mnp to blue telco.

Actually tempted to MNP but I also get 3GB with Smart Plan 50 plus 100 minutes and 100 SMS. More or less the same now except for the green monster who kept sucking your money.

Im more interested in the WiFi. What sort of WiFi and where are the locations for these WiFi hotspot?

The wifi hotspot can check the coverage area at celcom webpage. But i would say it's very limited places like KFC, airports, some hotels, etc.

tempting for this blue plan. i had using surfmore 50 2 years then 2months ago i switch to digi 50 due bundled with calls n sms. but the internet service really bad compared with maxis before. Digi replied me that LTE is not supported for Iphone5 i was like WTH??? however, will head to bluecube for this next week smile.gif
*
DiGi only support 2600MHz band for LTE...

Actually DiGi is quite bad at some area and pretty good at other area. Quite selective. Since I live in Kepong, I found that most of the time, its satisfying with a couple of dark spot where its really slow. Most of the time is good enough.

I also wanted to try Celcom for a change. Previously I bought a Celcom simpack (forced to buy in order to buy Galaxy Note), and in area surrounding my house, it was only 2G. I was like WTF... but now given the price, really really tempting.

RM40.30 wht they charged me yesterday. This including first month bill, and no contract.

Yup. Same goes with me. Just change my plan (exec20 plan+data plan38 1gb = 58monthly) to bundle new plan (celcom FIRST 38 = 3gb+3gb wifi 38monthly) at Menara Celcom yesterday . Have to pay 40.30 (with gst 2.28) when you sign up for the plan at Bluecube or Celcom Centre. Can see their T&C for more details. smile.gif

Better service, better connection. Some more got LTE coverage at my area. For me, this plan is a good plan and suit with my budget. smile.gif

The wifi coverage i believe mainly at shopping malls especially near blue cube. Just switch on wifi and scan. Connect to celcom wifi if there is, for connection. Have to send sms to 22188 for wifi password. Believe is one time activation.

Yes you can change your celcom postpaid to digi prepaid.

More details, you can see at LYN Garage Sales - Mobile Number and search for MNP. There's people provide service MNP and you can freely asking them. smile.gif

I've read before regarding this issue, some people said that you hve to go to celcom and reset ur mobile number then after that declare back your mobile number with celcom (Correct me if i'm wrong). Its like updating your bank details. But if you want more information bout this issue, you can ask celcom form more details. smile.gif

You can go to any celcom branch or bluecube, both got same services. after you subscribe to First38, it will take 24hours to activated. more details you can call their call centre or go to your nearest bluecube/celcom branch for more info.

From my personally experience, i change my plan bout 11am friday and it succesfully activated 1-2hours after that. Actually its depends on the service or network i think. Dont worry. It will not take too much time after you change to First38. smile.gif

For this, i think 1st you call and ask them instead of you go to nearest celcom branch. If the problem still persist then its better for you to go to celcom branch smile.gif

Klang Valley the speed is stable. The speed depends on your location. more details you can search at their website bout their coverage area. For me, its worth it to change to First38 plan. smile.gif

nah, false info. valid as long you're celcom cust once you've port in to the basic38. the 3gb promotion for first 6 months...first come first served. after 6 months...the one that subs after that will get only 2gb

Really can keep the credit? All the while I thought prepaid and postpaid is diff so all ur remaining balance burn if u change . If can bring forward to postpaid then I will change my c1m plan to this also as inside still got 50 plus...

Yup. It's stated in the FAQ. But should double confirm with the agent when you change the plan.

Can I sign up for FIRST™ Basic 38 if I am currently using Celcom Prepaid plan? Will my credit be carried forward?
Yes. Simply walk in to any Celcom branch or Blue Cube outlet nationwide to migrate your existing plan to FIRST™ Basic 38 at no extra charge. All you need to do is pay a one month advance payment based on the commitment fee of the plan you choose. This amount will then be credited back in your bill for the first month. Any remaining credit in your prepaid plan will be transferred to your new FIRST™ Basic 38 plan as a credited amount.

nah, false info. valid as long you're celcom cust once you've port in to the basic38. the 3gb promotion for first 6 months...first come first served. after 6 months...the one that subs after that will get only 2gb

How can you be so sure the validity of 3gb data/3gb wifi valid as long as the line is active?

the 3gb lifetime / only 6 months is the confusion part. i was handle by celcom officer that wear "elite" tag ( i guess more senior?) and he explain to me that first 6 months gv 3gb, after promotion over drop to 2gb data + 2gb wifi. he even write down all the package plan for basic 38.

Celcom official website FAQ in First Basic 38 clearly stated user might get 3GB data as long as they signed up the plan within promo period. Staying active with the plan can entitle the 3GB data.

For me, this plan is a good plan and suit with my budget. smile.gif

Really? I MNP my number on 2012 from Hotlink to Celcom Postpaid. Try ask them back because i also using the previous celcom postpaid plan almost 2years then i change my plan to this new plan. So far no problem and no need to change phone number. Celcom will change the plan from your current postpaid plan to First38 plan, and it just take 30min-2hours only for them to change First38. Go call them and ask them why you have to change phone number?? u already using celcom. laugh.gif

I just ported from Maxis to Celcom First 38, speed seemed like capped at 5Mbps even on LTE network, I already called to Celcom customer service, they said shouldn't be this way, the soeed should at least close to 15 to 20 mbps (though I think 50Mbps is more like it when I was with Maxis), I already opened a report with them and they will investigate.

Interesting. Could it be possible that Celcom is limiting First Basic 38 subscribers from access to full 4G LTE speeds? Since the plan is already so cheap they think it's fair if First Basic 38 subscribers don't get full 4G LTE speeds.
No wonder their T&C/FAQs never mention anything about internet speed.

If it's true it can backfire to them since this plan has no contract. People can still run away. Although surfing experience is still ok since the ping on 4G is still good

That's not the point. The point here is that if this is a limit that they impose on this package, subscribers should be informed. Not by sneaking it up on us after we signed up

However, the blue telco never say that first basic 38 have LTE at all.. did you notice in their FAQ that they are never mention anything about internet speed?
IHMO, 3 GB for the amount of 38 is unbeatable for any other telco for this moment, I'm asking for stability of connectivity, not just for speed with puny quota like other telco

i understand what I paid is what i get. so far no complaint for the stability of connectivity, speed wise i'm able to vnc to office at 1080p, undoubtedly the best offer at the moment. Just hope they will be more clear like specify it capped at 7.2M or something.

btw, do they have any ussd code to check data usage?

Actually since I'm using both DiGi and Celcom, I can say that there's little to choose between them. Of course I'm only using 3G with my Mi3. I will update again in few days time after I get S6 and hop on 4G network.

I find that Celcom although max at 5-6 Mbps, it does load pretty fast due to lower ping I guess. DiGi on the other hand, max out at 15 Mbps in certain area only. Most of the time, somewhere between 5-7 Mbps. It does load webpages slightly slower, but if you were downloading big files like updating apps, definitely faster with DiGi. One area where Celcom shines is indoor reception. Seem much better and can deliver faster speed than DiGi.

I don't really mind with 3G speed for 4G since I only use it for social apps and only certain places are LTE covered areas, but if Celcom really do capped the LTE speed, they should state it clearly on their T&C for this plan.

Honestly, I don't mind about LTE with our local telco puny quota and ridiculous throttled speed after quota.

Thailand telco is way better then us with reasonable priced plan. Just the blue telco has listen to our requirement for cheap and reasonable value plan.

Just I want is stability of connectivity and call quality is good with no dropped call. No use if given good speed but poor call quality.

Btw, stupid lazy green telco haven't release my number to blue telco. I already respond to the sms at 5pm. Gonna to give them my piece of mind soon

At that time, you can say Maxis branding is premium. To be honest, there was a period where Maxis really prevail. I was a traveling salesman about 10 years ago. Mainly to south and east coast. I can say, Maxis would outdo others easily. Perhaps even now.

However, things change rapidly in the last 5 years or so. I think Maxis was standing too long while other progressed. Now I think they are pretty equal except for LTE which probably still have Maxis a slight advantage because they were the first one to break the code and use 1800mhz without approval.

Btw, stupid lazy green telco haven't release my number to blue telco. I already respond to the sms at 5pm. Gonna to give them my piece of mind soon

I'm using their iValue 1 previously, then i changed my plan to surfmore 50 since i'm underutilized the bundled call and text. Also, i need more data as last time, the add-on data was cheap before they cutoff the surfmore 75

Thought they still can provide the add-on call e.g. Talk pack if i'm not mistaken it about 12 buck for 120 min for all telco.. Don't know whose good idea to cut those add-on together with surfmore 75. Also, the add-on data is ridiculously expensive after they cutoff the surfmore 75.

Enough is enough, thought to swtich to yellow as they having promo for their revamped smartplan but the blue telco is more interesting.. as it suits for my usage of data, call and text. Pity that the blue one doesn't have talk pack like previous green telco' surfmore talk pack and also, the add-on data is cheaper then green telco which IMHO is unreasonable

they can copy the blue telco' optimizer of either high data quota or high call and text plan but they didn't do so... because they are greedy to terminate the surfmore 75, the add-on talk pack of 12 buck for 120 min of call.

MAXIS BIGGEST FAILURE IS TO OFFER MAXIS ONE PLAN!

A shit plan with shit data offerings!

Calls Unlimited - Ptui!!! Who needs unlimited calls now! We need unlimited data!!!

Data Sikit - Memang sikit for such a damn high price!!!

I have been with Maxis almost 5 yrs and I am quite happy with the offerings until they terminate the Surfmore plan which is good to all. Now the Maxis data plan only have 1 choice which is the Surfmore 50! WHAT! Data plan only have 1 choice for such a big telco?

WHY I SAID MAXIS BIGGEST FAILURE TO OFFER MAXIS ONE?

Because now how they can hardly cut their price and IF THEY DID, the Maxis One Plan is a total failure and many jumped ship from this provider. Wondering what strategy they are running after the new CEO is taking over.

Anyway, ported ady from this telco to blue telco! More affordable!

Now after 1.5GB usage throttle down the connection cry.gif cry.gif . They come out new plan basic 38, hopefully no need to jump ship.

just sign up yesterday for this package.. Basic 38..
the bill will be RM38+6% GST..

it's 4G (LTE) enabled..
The 3gb data is for limited period if you register now..later on only 2gb..
and you'll get to enjoy 3gb for the rest of your life (i mean monthly data)
and you can carry forward unused data to the following month..

the best plan so far, i think

Wow, what a fast moving thread.

First of all, they have yet to respond to me, my case still unassigned when I last checked yesterday.

However, if Celcom responded that the speed of that plan is like that on their customer service support, clearly they are being unprofessional then, because we were promised of 4G LTE when we signed up, see here

https://www.celcom.com.my/personal/promo/4g...d=1360826467840

It says
QUOTE
you can enjoy Internet speeds like no other with complimentary Celcom 4G LTE access worth RM10 per month when you subscribe to any Mobile Internet monthly plan or Celcom First Data plan

When one said you get to access 4G LTE access, it naturally comes with best possible speed with 4G, and Celcom's speed at the moment can at least reach 18mbps region.

So i encourage you to at least fight for it and not let them brushed you off with reply like "itzlidat" because you are certainly entitled to it.

I for one is already contemplating to switch back to Maxis surf more by the end of the billing cycle if I am not happy with the customer support, I dislike the possible bait and switch treatment by Celcom.

Oh wow. I would agree to have every 38 users to file a report on 5MB speed cap limit. False advertising is where everything starts. If users do not mind or not standing up to what their rights on this matter, what other plans that they have in mind to continue messing with us.

1000 reports compared to 10 reports make a difference.

Call 1111 and speak to customer service, said your speed on 4G network is only at 5Mbps, state the area you made the test, said your friend on Celcom can get at least 20 Mbps at Klang Valley area, they will ask you to check you APN settings, yada yada, they will also ask you to hang up and they will reset your connection and call back when it doesn't work. And you will have to call back again because clearly it will not work, then they will proceed to open a report for you.

I know it's a lot of work but that's what you need to do in order to open an official report.

Just change my first one 68 to first basic 38 on last Sunday at blue cube @ The Gardens.

This is to answer some questions.
1. celcom 68 postpaid to this 38, no problem. I did it.

2. How long to process register/mnp?
mine was 68 postpaid, from i take the q number, until paid the 1 month upfront, it take 20-30mins. Then 10 min later i received sms saying that the plan has been changed successfully.

* few months ago i did MNP from U mobile prepaid to postpaid 68, @Mid Valley, the whole process also take 30 mins.

3. How much you need to pay?
RM40.30 after GST (RM38+6%=RM40.28)

My statement date is 24 every month, so last Sunday was 26/4, so the RM40.30 now direct pay to the account, they don't ask me to settle RM68 together with this upfront. So it is mean it is RM40.30 is not " LOCK" to the account like deposit.

4. LTE speed
I will find some place near my area to show you all. For now my speedtest is around 3-5Mbps. Before this? Not sure, maybe faster.
So far satisfied with it because celcom still wider coverage if I travel outstation if compare to other telco.
But i believe every telco got their disadvantage.
Attached Image
USJ 21 , 12pm 28/4/2015

5. 1+5 sup line
beware of the 500MB data, after finish quota is PAYU. mad.gif

6. Max up
5GB @ RM50 still the cheapest add on quota so far.

If you ask me, want faster speed or more quota, my answer is both.
But if you ask me, pay RM68/3GB@20Mbps LTE speed, or RM38/3GB@5Mbps LTE speed?
I choose RM38.

I dont mind the lower speed too. But please tell us in advance. Not by sneaking up on us like this. And by the look of things, they are indeed capping the 38 plan to about 5mbps. Unless there are others who can report significantly higher speed than that

Yeah, that's a skank move and we need an answer. This was not mention anywhere when signing up for this plan. If you get 4G then you deserve its full speed available.
My Umobile on 2nd phone easily scores 6mb download speed just on H+ connection..
5Mb on 4G is a joke.

Went to a dealer just now,Blue Box outlet. Wanted to convert my prepaid to postpaid. They say unable. They received an email saying only to reg new numbers for the 38 package. Wasted my time only. Should have gone straight to Celcom branch.

I went to two outlets, both said can't. So frustrating. Called celcom customer service, chatted with celcom customer service, both said can. Reach outlet, all say cannot. vmad.gif

Prepaid to postpaid? Confirm can. I did mine already. Celcom Postpaid to Basic 38 also can, but only if your existing plan is not under contract. Which one is yours?

i signed up for this plan over the weekend and I can't get LTE signal - so I went and checked my sim card - it says 3G on the card, do i need to change the sim or change my APN? I know previously for my Maxis, I had to change my 3g sim to 4g sim

If it says 032, you need to change. If it says 064 on the card, it's 4G. Denotes the capacity, 32k and 64k. APN is celcom4g

kudos for celcom coming out with this plan, even after the promo ends 2gb + 2gb wifi i think it is a good deal at rm 38. Hopefully they will iron out the speed issue soon.

Received a call from blue telco CS yesterday after I filed a report on their OCS. The CS asked the locations and devices I run the speedtest, and he confirmed that there's no speed capped for First 38. He also agreed that once inside 4G coverage the reasonable speed should be 18Mbps+. The ticket is pending for other level of support.

*
It seems the Download speed is throttle perhaps..

The upload speed is still LTE speed.. 3G could never go up that high..

if you all really want to confirm capped or not, ask if you friend that are using other celcom postpaid, or prepaid to do speedtest. Then find another friend that are using 38 now to do the speedtest at same place.

Also how is the speed for the max up now? I never do speedtest last 2 month when I bought the extra 5GB when I was in first one 68.

Here are facts:

You can change whatever celcom postpaid plan you have to Basic 38.
You can upgrade from celcom prepaid to Basic 38.

Those who said you cannot convert may have not get their info updated.

waited for 2 days no sms, yesterday called the cs saying no record, when to blue cube they said already done, ask me wait.

today call again, hq still no record, as me go back to blue cube and ask for transaction number. went to blue cube, the person said will resubmit for me again on the spot. submitted the application at 2pm, porting process from umobile to celcom done at 3.30pm. only 1.5 hrs process cost me to wait for 3 days....

Today my port in request had been rejected once again and when I called Celcom, they said that the rejected reason due to "I still having contract with Maxis". When I contacted Maxis Customer Service, they have confirmed that I do not have any contract or outstanding with them and can port into other Telco anytime. Then I refer back to Celcom to re-submit my application but Celcom told me already rejected but they are unable to check what is the problem. Then when I walk in to re-register at Celcom Center, they told me that the Status is "In Progress" and I could not register again and I have to wait.

Walao! Damn difficult to port in ehhh! Seems like Maxis don't want to release my number!

They are inundated with requests already to get into this plan. A friend of mine went this morning also still waiting for the plan to be active. I went last Saturday. 5 mins after exiting the branch I received a message saying the plan is active already

That's good, people are smarter now.. switch to better value plan, with reasonable call and text PAYU charges.
My guess, it's eating the green telco' prepaid user too.. No brainer that with 38 buck for 3GB data, 50 min call, 50 text compared with 30 buck, just for 1 GB data, text and call is PAYU

Your bill will prorate until the day you change your plan. Means telco will chrge you from 13/4 until 29/4. Rm40.30 you paid is for your bill 29/4 until 29/5. Correct me if i'm wrong.

That free extra data is promotion if i'm not mistaken will end on May

Indeed, even the yellow telco smartplan prepaid can beat the green telco with 30 buck with 1 GB quota, 60 min of call, 60 text but unfortunately, the coverage is not so good when compared with the green telco

FYI, Maxis called me today morning and offer me a free phone (Lenovo Vibe A380) if I still stay with Maxis. They are asking why am I porting out? I told them their package is expensive and me as a customer would go for a cheaper alternative plan. I personally told them that their data offerings is very poor and not attractive, only promoting Maxis One Plan which is rubbish!!! I am a normal user, not a businessman!

Finally, my number is going to port out anytime now after 5 days being held. Maxis also admitted their fault in giving wrong information.

Skudai johor. An update on the issue. I filed complaint to celcom via ocs yesterday.just now one cs called me regarding this. She explained that this plan the speed will capped at 7mbps. I'm not convinced saying no terms written on the tnc. She said like that she will open a report for me and refer to technical department. Then I receive email inform the report is opened moment after the call.

A little bit of update, customer support called me twice already, first was on Tuesday, they told me that their network has no problem everything working well, I told them I know your network has no problem, question is why I am getting with only 5-6gb speed while if I try different Celcom sim(different plan), I can get 18mbps, is my bandwidth capped? They OK OK and will feedback to tech team.

Yesterday, they called again and replied me the same answer, "No problem with the network", I was absolutely furious, it's just a meaningless answer to me. I demanded to speak to tech support, I told them you are not understanding the problem but they said they can't patch me through tech support unless I call them myself.

I told them "please tell tech team to call me tomorrow, my question is simple, i get slow speed, slower than expected, why? Is my line capped?" Till now they haven't called me back.

EDIT:

Okay I just gave them a call, this time they said still investigating, I ask them to give me a timeline, he said don't know, I tell him to ask the guy responsible and tomorrow let me know when. I told them that I will not let Celcom sit on this and hope it goes away, I also told them that even when I buy a house, they know roughly what time to hang over the house to me, tak kan this investigation has no timeline?

Is there anyone that has no problems with the Basic 38 plan? Seeing many people complaining about the slow H+ and LTE speed, I'm quite worried that I'll regret. If people keep on complaining, I might have to stay with U Mobile U50 plan.

My guess for the slow speed is because the line is overloaded, since many people switch to Celcom recently.

Surfing wise the speed is fine as the ping on LTE is good. You wont notice it. I know this coz I was on a full speed Celcom LTE before. And no,this is not because of overloading.

reading all these reading, why celcom speed look like crap compared to maxis? are they purposely capping or what? i know speed is enough for normal usage, but if they say it's 4G, they lie also right?

What a lame counter plan from green telco.. yes, these plan is useful to those calls and text regularly
What about other who wants data? Hello, this is 2015, not 2005.. even with the add-on, it getting so ridiculous, 30 buck of 1 GB

yea, in order to share data and call + sms with supp line doh.gif
green telco totally never listen to what consumer need

they only focus to those business man who use call a lot
what we want is more data !!!

QUOTE(graphidz @ Apr 30 2015, 08:37 PM)
reading all these reading, why celcom speed look like crap compared to maxis? are they purposely capping or what? i know speed is enough for normal usage, but if they say it's 4G, they lie also right?

that speed suppose is 3G speed laugh.gif

Received an email from Celcom Customer Service with title "Order has been submitted successfully" this morning, the content of the email is my info and also the amount of money to be paid this month. But I am still with green telco now and blue telco already want to charge me already? Or does it mean my port request only get submitted today?

Been waiting since tuesday vmad.gif

Erm guy, the first month bill should be pro rated to the monthly billing date right? But what about the 3GB data? Lets say billing cycle starts at 8th of each month. But I change to this plan today, what's the amount of data I have till 7th of May before reset at 8th May?

Ok, so I went to one of Celcom HQ, specifically at Seksyen 13 to change my existing plan to the promo RM38 plan.

With all the slow service (only 2 staffs at the counter to do everything) and many ppl (more than 20+ at 10am), it took me 45 mins to get in turn (I was second in line btw) and 10 mins to process. doh.gif

Just to share:
1. Changing from existing plan to the promo RM38 is NOT free. You need to pay an advanced RM38 + 6% GST (so total is RM40 something) which will be billed in your newly promo RM38 bill. In short, it will be rebated.
2. The promo lasts as long as u keep ur bill alive (not barred), and until further notice. And after 6months, the 3GB promo thingy will revert back to its original 2GB plan, also until further notice.

So, yeah! No more paying my RM50 (voice etc) + RM38 (1GB data) anymore. rclxm9.gif
From now, I just pay RM38 for 3GB data + 3 GB wifi + free 50 minutes call + free 50 SMS.

Oh, btw.. if u usually check ur data "Vol Status" via 22188, u can now check EVERYTHING at once by sms "Bal Status" via 28882. (refer attached photo)

just signed yesterday night at BlueCube, Aeon Bukit Tinggi Klang. swift and fast process, took around 15 minutes for new application, given a choice to choose last 4 digit followed by 019/013 preference. filled up the form, just give them I/C and pay RM40 plus inclusive of GST and voila, there you go! Can pay through Credit Card as well if I'm not wrong, and AMEX should be accepted.

Requires maximum 1 hours to get the line to be activated, and the speed is around 5 - 6mbps, at outdoor beats Digi flat that hovers around 1-2mb. But still far from 4G LTE speeds, tested on 3G devices.

I'm using the same sim card that I've tested before changing to this 38 plan, speed result below.

After changing, went to Sunway earlier today. To my surprise, it IS capped at 7mbps. Same place, but extremely lower speed. Wth celcom? Good plan but capped speed? Feel cheated. doh.gif

Yikes, lucky I can still make calls. Called 1111 to asked, she say payment in progress... What does that even mean, she say they don't know. I paid CASH RM40.30 at the blue cube branch. Then she asked me to contact the Suria, KK branch to ask them what's the hold up. WTF, I ask you, you asked me to enquire the branch myself?
Fine, I want the branch phone number so that I can contact the branch myself. Gave me 088-447892. I called twice nobody pick up. Called back 1111, this time a guy picked up. I asked to confirmed if the phone number given to me correct or not, he said he has no idea cause they (customer service) don't have the contact number for branches, only have address. Then WTF is the number given to me in the first place?

I just switch from my Xpax IOX to this First Basic 38.
Same location, with my Redmi Note 4G, previously was able to get up to 20Mbps (2.4Mb/sec download at STEAM).

Now just run a speed test, it seems the speed capped at around 5~6Mbps.

I will try to tether to my PC to download again when I have time to see if the capping is real.

Next step is to make report to get case number for the capped speed. If they give shitanswer, get the case number proceed to skmm to raise complaint.

Everyone do this, then blueman will get jump on this.

can see under your online customer service. another way is to check your data balance 'vol status to 22188'. if it's 3gb then u're in.

So far using this basic 38 plan is really good. Speed is good and so is the plan. Using Xpax no time limit internet from beginning. So this is a big upgrade from it biggrin.gif

Well this plan takes about maximum one day to activate if you're currently riding on celcom network. Others telco will take you about 3-5 working days. Paid 40.30 upfront for the plan, but honestly I don't know what is it for. Anyone can clarify what is the amount for ? First month bill?

So far using this basic 38 plan is really good. Speed is good and so is the plan. Using Xpax no time limit internet from beginning. So this is a big upgrade from it biggrin.gif

Well this plan takes about maximum one day to activate if you're currently riding on celcom network. Others telco will take you about 3-5 working days. Paid 40.30 upfront for the plan, but honestly I don't know what is it for. Anyone can clarify what is the amount for ? First month bill?

up front payment. will be credited back to you

Filled up contact form at celcom website yesterday to enquire and expidite the process. Online Customer Servive called and history repeated itself. Status still pending, why pending? The answer from them was don't know.
Have to asked blue cube..... myself. What's the contact number? OCS don't know.... isn't blue cube under celcom management? They are dealer. Isn't dealer still under celcom? How can celcom not have your own dealer's number?
Why bother call me if OCS don't know what's holding back the change of plan, and don't even have the contact for blue cube, suria mall?
What's the point of filling up the contact form in celcom website if they can't deal with their own dealers to handle change of plan?
Seriously, if can't get the process done in 24 hours then don't say can.... and when cannot, can't they just say when can it be done? Tell me don't know what's holding back. .... don't know don't call and make me rage some more lah....

As a secondary internet account the speed is fine. Fast enuff for FB whatsapp IG etc. It's even faster than my streamyx at home lol. If it's your sole internet access then I guess you're entitled to rage. I just want Celcom to be honest with it and tell us

I'm using a supplementary line under maxis, will I be able to port just like that or do I need to make mine into a principle line first?

I think you need the main account holder to do this.

Exactly. Even with the complains and whatnot they still flat out deny it when asked about it.
I got the news from Lowyat.net site — it would be nice if one of the authors references this thread and call Celcom out on this issue.

Last time at Maxis, I was told that as well. Area no LTE but then detected LTE. No carrier in Malaysia is honest. Semua tipu with hidden T&C

can see under your online customer service. another way is to check your data balance 'vol status to 22188'. if it's 3gb then u're in.
apparently download spec called at 7mbps although celcom denied. but I guess it won't be much difference for most of us unless those hard core downlaoader

Thanks. I check mine seems already activated but my wife at same time still not received tm wifi password

Strange, may I know wherw did you guys get to know the speed for this First Basic 38 is capped at 7mb?

I happen to perform a speedtest @ Midvalley/The Gardens, it can reach up to 16mb++.

Using Ip6, but the phone and line belongs to others...

I even went to ask at Bluecube @ Gardens, they say this package is using LTE without speed capping.

Those who are on this plan have done lots of speedtest, most of them capped or never exceed 7mbps. Is the ip6 u used to test is currently on this plan? AFAIK, all other celcom plans including prepaid are having uncapped speed except this plan.

But then again maybe it's what Celcom used to do back then for their broadband plan. There was a broadband plan where it was blazing fast speed for the first 7 trial days, and then it goes back to it's normal speed after the trial days are over and people are stuck with the broadband contract. Let's just hope it's not what they are doing this time/

According to the owner, yes it is on First Basic 38 plan...

I'm now in dilemma whether to choose between my Maxis One Plan 128(muti-sim) to share data within my principle, Hotlink Tablet Rm30 for 1GB valid for 365 days or this First Basic 38...

Mainly use for my tablet data usage, seldom or almost not making any calls or sms(unless I opt for the 38 plan)

Hows the 3G/LTE coverage between Maxis and Celcom?
