Has anyone noticed this page on Celcom's website regarding 4G LTE?

The thing I'm trying to point out is this:
QUOTE
Enjoy FREE Celcom 4G LTE access for a whole year!
From now till 31 December 2015, you can enjoy Internet speeds like no other with complimentary Celcom 4G LTE access worth RM10 per month when you subscribe to any Mobile Internet monthly plan or Celcom First Data plan.

What does that mean I wonder. That 4G LTE is provided for free until the end of 2015 and from 2016 onwards you will be charged RM 10 per month to use 4G LTE?

I'm a current Hotlink user and I'm really interested in switching over but I'm just checking out some fine prints before doing it.

I just ported from Maxis to Celcom First 38, speed seemed like capped at 5Mbps even on LTE network, I already called to Celcom customer service, they said shouldn't be this way, the soeed should at least close to 15 to 20 mbps (though I think 50Mbps is more like it when I was with Maxis), I already opened a report with them and they will investigate.
Same here. Before this I was on Celcom Prepaid and can regularly reach 18mbps. Now with a 38 plan, same location, same device, can get max 5mbps only even on LTE

Interesting. Could it be possible that Celcom is limiting First Basic 38 subscribers from access to full 4G LTE speeds? Since the plan is already so cheap they think it's fair if First Basic 38 subscribers don't get full 4G LTE speeds.
No wonder their T&C/FAQs never mention anything about internet speed.

As a secondary internet account the speed is fine. Fast enuff for FB whatsapp IG etc. It's even faster than my streamyx at home lol. If it's your sole internet access then I guess you're entitled to rage. I just want Celcom to be honest with it and tell us

Exactly. Even with the complains and whatnot they still flat out deny it when asked about it.
I got the news from Lowyat.net site — it would be nice if one of the authors references this thread and call Celcom out on this issue.

Eh it was on LYN? Didn't see the article on frontpage also.

Here's the link from LYN website - http://www.lowyat.net/2015/04/celcom-intro...-free-callssms/

Lots of discussion down there. Even some talked about LTE speed but no reply from author.

Today further tested with indoor coverage of Celcom. WHen I go outside the building normally can get 4G but when entered the building, it straight become 3G and H+ (unstable mode), browsing speed also reduced!

I think Celcom doesn't perform well indoors. That's why they offer their Celcom Wifi.
They rather invest in Wifi for indoors than improving their network. It's disappointing.

been using Celcom UOX prepaid previously, never encounter such issue.

Ported to Basic 38, dapat EDGE aje..itu pun sometimes got 3G connection on phone, but website takes longer time to load, whatsapp take times to sent out. doh.gif

for the whatsapp issue, sometimes its a blessing for me......lol ":p

but kinda annoying la..

How true is this? Have you personally tested with two phones? One is Basic 38, the other XPAX.
I have this hunch that Celcom has intentionally crippled the Basic 38's connection because it is not profitable to give these users full access to its network and they might think they have compensated by giving these users 3GB of Wifi.

One of my family member actually subscribes to one of the Elite postpaid plan on Celcom and he has very good to superb connection throughout Malaysia, even in KL while my Basic 38 is barely useable at times.
I haven't extensively tested this but I should. But if is true, Celcom can't do this to its customers without openly saying anything even in its T&C. It'll be considered outright deception if true.

Anyone noticed the First Basic 38 plan has disappeared entirely from the main page?

I think it has been replaced with this First One Plan instead.
Details are as follows: LINK

RM 68 (48 currently with promo) for 2GB internet and 60mins calls + sms. Seems worse off compared to First Basic 38.
