i have astro byond on first floor and just bought second fhd tv and i put it on second floor.

is there any way to make both tv receive astro channel without any wiring? i googled, and found one wireless device (transmitter & receiver), however I would not be getting HD on second tv by that device.

So, is there any device to ensure that I will receive hd quality picture on 2nd tv via wireless?

why no sound of 5.1 channel ob my sports hd channel? others like national geographic got 5.1 channels... cannot listen commentary for tonite champion league... damnnn astro

HD Sports channel where got 5.1 sound? Do research first.

just changed my decoder from thomson (non-hd) to zapper
nothing is displayed on the zapper. just red and green dot.
now cannot have a quick glance at channel anymore

about the remote, before this using thomson i can practically point anywhere for the decoder to register the input
even pointing the remote in opposite direction, the decoder still manage to register input.
now the zapper need to point directly or slightly off to the decoder for it to register input.

Mana wo? Got screenshot with the Dolby Digital icon? Got sound doesn't means got 5.1 surround.

My avr reads all HD channels sound output as DD,genuine DD/5.1 or Not I cannot confirm

None that I know. I got both Hypp and Astro.

Then why say got 5.1 sound for all HD sport channel?
U can read the below comment from another thread.

I dont think I made a fatal statement! We all arent experts to determine the sound,we take as we get it,they claim HD where got all full HD! Except for some channels where the feed is 5.1,where the show was produced in 5.1 u get 5.1 in other cases u get a fake DD 5.1,this is my understanding. So in sports channels if the feed was produced in 5.1 you will get DD5.1 if not a fake 5.1 audio

I was baffled by this too when I upgraded my decoder earlier this year. Don't worry, you will get used to it.

But AFAIK, there is no 5.1 sound for all HD Sports channel.

replaced the decoder only to realize my tv hdmi port gone haywire as well after the lightning. now there is no sound and whenever i tune to HD channel after 5 sec screen goes blank & HDCP protection failed error message pop up. Any idea if the HDMI ports can be repair ? Samsung plasma btw. if cannot means have to fork out for new hdtv pulak.. now can only watch via component cable

u might want to try and call up a technician, though nowadays all parts are done in 1 board might need to change the whole board

I think, before end of this year, 2 more SD channels (fyi & unknown channel) and 8 more HD channels is going to be launched.

Cinemax HD, Fox HD, & Discovery Science HD pls....

If lack of bandwidth is the issue, I would rather astro gives us SD in native widescreen instead. Hate those border (letterbox mode) and stretching mode.

Most probably some of the existing channels on Astro will be upgraded to HD, eg: BBC News, FOX, Diva, Lifetime etc.

Either astro staff who handles it is dumb, or they just implying "hurr durr if you want native widescreen channel you should get b.yond+HD".

For sharing only. Actually cinemax n Nick already have HD feeds available in the region already. I posted Nick HD SEA previously. So Astro cannot use 'the chs not available in HD' as a excuse. Tks.

i know that, my point was that it's not available locally. a Malaysian has no choice to watch nickelodeon/cartoon network/cinemax/fox in widescreen.

actually malaysia can easy received indo satellite, chaep n nice... they got like njoi decoder but can watch HD channel..

Anyone have issues with the remote lagging like hell? Its no longer responsive after they upgrade to the new interface. Am using the black DVR.

I used to have an app on iPhone/iPad which can check Astro channels schedule. I no longer can find that on AppStore. Anyone knows about this app?

See what extra channels you will get on the website and decide if they are worth the extra 32rm/month. IMO the answer is probably yes. Plus you get the PVR with the superpack too right?

Agreed !Once the bill touches RM100 might as well opt for SPs To me on SP ,is not that there are many great channels but in view of repeated content I need to hv extra channels!

It doesn't look quite like the one I had. This AstroView seems to be the magazine of Astro. Last time the app has a list of all channels and then can go in to each channel to see the daily schedule.

guys, just got my satCR for astro pvr installed last weeks(and i wasnt there to monitor the progress by astro installer) and i've been able to continue to watch the tv, but i just noticed several problems just now when i'm trying to record a show, the tv guide is not working, i see nothing from tv guide, only gt "no information available", so i try to unplug the cable, and this is where i found out that the installer plugged the cable into tuner2 instead of tuner1, i thought satcr suppose to plug into tuner1? so i try to do it myself and changed the SETTING FROM LNB TO SATCR, AND THENNN, tadaaaaa, nothing on the satellite setting , no signal quality no signal strength AT ALLLL, i've able to watch astro through tuner2 but thats the problem, no tv guide and unable to record. anyone willing to offer me a help here?

depends gak pada kawasan. aku pakai iptv dia, ok la setakat nie.. lama dah aku pakai...
bagi yang guna maxis, mmg sakit sikit la kalau kau ada masalah.. sebab kau guna line TM, dia akan buat lambat2 je orang TM ni. sebab kau bukan pakai servis diorang kan.
kalau TIME mmg terbaik la, sebab tak banyak kawasan dia liputi, so response dia lagi baik.

man i tell you the new decoder remote control is so much pain in the ass to use. have to point directly towards the decoder unlike the old one.

Goddamit when is they going to give us Fox Sports 2, Fox Sports 3 and ASS 4 on HD? gile sakit mata tengok letterbox SD.

Also I have multiroom, one is PVR and one is normal beyond. I just realised that my non PVR box does not have Eurosport HD and Setanta HD. Is this normal? so do I need to upgrade by non PVR box to PVR to get these channels?

I have just gotten an Astro Byond PVR with Wifi built in (i guess it's the samsung model). Connected to my home Wifi but can't access VOD. It says DNS error. Any idea what happened? Yes I am on Superpack 3 with multiroom service

Unless you delete most of the stuffs, no. Astro's HD broadcast is around 10Mbps x264 compression, while normal files that you download from torrent are only 2 to 4Mbps, hence the larger file size when recording on Astro. This is to make sure that the picture quality is mantained. Unless you get a capture card and rerecord what you record into your PC, I doubt your HDD can last

Enough, but you can't just plug a HDD and expect it to record.
worse come to worse, Astro --> HDMI Capture card --> record to PC

Just moved into a new condo. As usual, they won't allow dish to be installed outside the building and provided centralized dish instead.

Installation at the new place was done by Astro's appointed installer. I realized one thing that my new place only provided 1 satellite output on the wall, whereas b.yond requires 2 cables. What the installer did was installing some sort of adapter: 2 cables from the decoder into the adapter, then 1 single output into the wall. I need to pay RM25 for that piece of item. The installer informed me that in case I can't view any of the HD/SD contents, I need to record any of the available HD then only I can view the desired channel. That was 2 weeks ago.

Until now, it was like a never ending trial & error hit & miss mission. With the lagging remote control, I'm not enjoying Astro as I used to. Sometimes SD contents are affected. Is there any solution to this?

Just ask if is this on demand channel(hbo, one hd, astro ondemand and etc. except animax on demand) need to pay if I am a superpack user?

Hi all. Got a question regarding Astro IPTV.

Currently I am Superpack subscriber, and been using Unifi 5mbps for Internet. I am interested to subscribe to Astro IPTV with maxis home fiber, as it'll cost me less, more channels and double up my internet speed to 10mbps.

But when I read some bad reviews about maxis home fiber, it made me thinking twice whether to switch or not. (my area doesn't have TIME fiber). So I raised my concern to Astro IPTV salesperson. And being a salesperson herself, she said that Maxis fiber is using Unifi's base, so if I previously don't have any problem using Unifi, then I won't be having any problem with Maxis fiber too..which makes some sense.

As for now, I have no problem with Unifi 5mbps and I do torrent quite heavily. So does this means I won't face any problem when switch to Maxis home fiber + IPTV package? Appreciate experts opinion on this. Thanks.

hopefully. with this new satellite, astro would bring this channel. would love some MBC programmes like in ONE HD which aired SBS program.

basically yes, if you don't have the problem with unifi, sure maxis iptv don't also..
but bare in mind that if you do have, it would be a long "journey".. because all internet/tv issue, would have to go to astro. astro then would have to contact TM for any troubleshoot if the "script" which they read to you cannot help at all..
with TM know you have subscribe to maxis astro iptv, they would treat you like a loss child..
but other then that, i dont have any issue with maxis and astro..

This looks more like it. Anyway, the old app that shows Astro program schedule that I mentioned previously, I have found out it is called "AstroGuide" with a beige B.Yond app badge, but can no longer be found on App Store. Not sure if this was made by someone or officially from Astro, but I think it would make more sense coming from Astro, as we aren't so free to make apps for Astro. Probably the new app above is the replacement for it.
