Based on the reply I received from Oh!K, they are working on bringing the channel to Malaysia in the near future. But who will eventually get the broadcast right is still a mystery. Since Oh!K is under Turner, so I think it's either ASTRO or HYPPTV since ASTRO has HBO, CNN & Cartoon Network which are under the same company while HYPPTV got WARNER TV.

QUOTE(Qash-M @ Oct 27 2014, 08:38 PM) >Mediacorp channel on future lineup Bullshit lah. I probably know the guy who (re)made it... The person who edited the wiki page must suffer some psychiatric issues. The list is too good to be true and even Astro said that only 6 HD & 2 SD channels coming. So 2 HD channels will be AEC & SHUANG XING. TBH, the existing channels like CARTOON NETWORK, FOX, NAT GEO WILD, DIVA, E!, MTV, CNN etc all have HD versions but yet to be featured on the lineup. So I really doubt the new HD channels will be brand new channels instead just the HD versions of the existing channels.

QUOTE(khairulnizam @ Nov 3 2014, 04:03 PM) oic..whats the diffrent? ..its just add another package ( indo pek, metro, baby tv etc for SP P1 ) no use bcoz astro always repeat program..example today we can watch movie such as Chikaro on citra..next month or the other month they will show it on maya hd or ria. Can you screencap the supposed page? Does the Super Pack Plus merely bundles the existing channels? To me, it's a scam if they just add 2-3 existing packages to the Super Pack and name it Super Pack Plus and gain extra money from it.

QUOTE(khairulnizam @ Nov 4 2014, 08:39 PM) I think the only new package in the Super Pack Plus 1 is the "ASTRO PLUS" package. Most probably contain of the HD channels already on Maxis-Astro IPTV and new HD channels. Other packages such as Indo Pek, Metro, A-List, baby TV etc are considered "same old". QUOTE(smileguy @ Nov 5 2014, 12:10 PM) Rest are the same except for SP PLUS launching December,I did try the package calculator there seems to be some increase between PVR/HD fees as u had noticed, lets wait next month maybe that increase is for those HD channel versions coming up yes. Hd service will see RM5 increase. They better bring new HD channels (not their in house like bolly one hd) to justify the price hike. This post has been edited by izwanikhsan: Nov 5 2014, 11:21 AM

QUOTE(leetan33 @ Nov 5 2014, 02:24 PM) I received a letter from Astro informing me that HD service price will be increased by RM5. Also, in the letter, it stated 8 new HD channels: 1. Hits HD (CH 720) 2. Fox HD (CH 724) 3. Astro AEC HD (CH 306) 4. Astro Shuang Xing HD (CH 307) 5. Fox Family Movies HD (CH 430) 6. Fox Action Movies HD (CH 434) 7. Diva Universal HD (CH 723) 8. FYI HD (CH 736) These channels will be available to me from 16/11/2014 to 28/02/2015, after that the access to these channels will be based on the subscription entitlement. No Channel M HD, MTV live HD, Aniplus HD, Cartoon network HD, CNN HD, FOX SPORT 2 and 3 HD, Channel V HD This post has been edited by izwanikhsan: Nov 5 2014, 01:30 PM

QUOTE(leetan33 @ Nov 5 2014, 02:38 PM) I guess Channel M HD, MTV Live HD and Channel V HD are exclusively available on HyppTV in Malaysia. MTV LIVE is available on HYPPTV and surprisingly the lackluster ABNXCESS. CHANNEL V was removed from ASTRO due to "lack of viewers" according to them. ASTRO already showed channel M for a week last year for MNET ASIAN MUSIC AWARDS. so I doubt that HYPPTV has exclusivity on those channels. Having said that, exclusive contract is banned in other countries while we advocate such anti competitive practice.

QUOTE(leetan33 @ Nov 5 2014, 02:47 PM) If I'm not mistaken, MNET ASIAN MUSIC AWARDS was showing on Astro Quan Jia HD last time right? They just took the feed from chM at that broadcasting time only. It was available on MAYA HD, QUAN JIA HD and Ch 395 Channel M HD for that limited period only.

QUOTE(torreto @ Nov 5 2014, 03:20 PM) I'm happy that finally they bring in fox hd but sad because still not fox sport 2 & 3 in HD. People requested for FOX HD ages ago. Given that sport package is one of the expensive package and newly launched satellite means more capacity to add new channels, it is unfortunate that FOX SPORT 2 HD and FOX SPORT 3 HD won't come to Astro in the near future.

QUOTE(Qash-M @ Nov 5 2014, 08:06 PM) Given its channel no (ch.720 was previously beTV HD), it should've been on basic. Hits features old show. Not worthy of being included in the variety pack. Should be included in basic pack. But who knows, it's astro that we're talking about This post has been edited by izwanikhsan: Nov 5 2014, 07:53 PM

QUOTE(leetan33 @ Nov 6 2014, 01:22 PM) I'm wondering the same thing too. I thought there's only 3 to 4 pay TV operators in Malaysia. Astro does not monopolise the pay TV industry. But it does monopolise the satellite TV industry. That leaves the other 10 providers to use fibre iptv (hypptv, detv, fine tv) and coaxial cables (mega tv, abnxcess). As a matter of fact, it's exclusive satellite provider's licence is a form of monopoly (as parabolic dish is also prohibited). Its claim of the absence of monopoly is flawed.

QUOTE(leetan33 @ Nov 6 2014, 01:49 PM) They nitpick and selectively ignore certain facts to justify their policies. The recent price revision ignores certain facts: 1. Astro is the only satellite TV provider. Others have to spent big bucks to install fibre optic and underground cables. Look at Indonesia and count how many satellite provider's are there. 2. As it claims that content price is increasing, it ignores the fact that the number of its subscribers are increasing significantly too. This could mitigate the effect of the content pricing.

IPM thailand also give FREE 21 HD channels !! IPM = NJOI.... free satellite TV... just buy the initial box, no monhtly fees in this country companies > consumers.

In Singapore, HKTV dramas will be shown on chK (a sister channel of Celestial Movies and Celestial Classic Movies). ASTRO "cleverly" saves the bandwidth by not showing chK instead showing HKTV dramas on Shuang Xing. Bijak Bijak.
