Actually, the fault is that gomen/SKMM give them monopoly rights for satellite transmission. Competitors forced to use other methods, currently mostly IPTV or coaxial cable. And the problem with those methods? Expensive and slow rollout.

TM is giving away HD programming for free on HyppTV (NHK World HD, Fashion HD, Luxe HD, even the Al Hijrah is special HD feed is afaik free to view). And afaik, ABN also has one or two free HD channels. The problem with those is the availability is low and thus cannot even defeat assteruk. If the service piggyback on existing ISP like DeTV, even worse and cannot offer HD content because our internet infrastructure sucks, especially in the east coast where the infra has been unchanged since the early 2000s.

So because assteruk has no serious competition, they can torture subscribers as they please...
