My avr reads all HD channels sound output as DD,genuine DD/5.1 or Not I cannot confirm

I dont think I made a fatal statement! We all arent experts to determine the sound,we take as we get it,they claim HD where got all full HD! Except for some channels where the feed is 5.1,where the show was produced in 5.1 u get 5.1 in other cases u get a fake DD 5.1,this is my understanding. So in sports channels if the feed was produced in 5.1 you will get DD5.1 if not a fake 5.1 audio

Agreed !Once the bill touches RM100 might as well opt for SPs To me on SP ,is not that there are many great channels but in view of repeated content I need to hv extra channels!

My guess 241 TT may go HD

NJOI maybe HD enabled but I doubt asstro Malaysia will provide Free HD............ though in UK there are HD channels for for free satelite Tv Customers are ready to go HD but asstro is money faced the HD fee of RM20 and too many boring In House JV channels are what holding many from upgrading.

There is a possibility of some mediacorp channels cos our friend has many JV deals there,with many astro In House channels already on Mio and Starhub.As far some MC vernacular channels of course its a dream cos if they make it here astro wl be out of business especially Vasantham and MC 8 !

Agreed! So is vasantham which screens latest tamil blockbusters when asstro sells it at RM15 per movie!! MC Channel 8 has excellent follow up for its dramas and series so if they make it to asstro then asstro will turn a real ass!

This channel is targetted for advertising revenue,I bet it will screen craps most of the time, NJOI is also for advertising revenue the more NJOI the more astro gets $$$$$$$$$$,

Looks like a price hike and add on packs are on the way,Superpack plus 1,2,3,4, are coming in December priced at RM178 and RM228 with 25HD channels( many more to come is mentioned)!

Log in, click add/change pack,then unselect pack ,u can see the new SP 1234 which includes indian,chinese and malay channels packaged

Rest are the same except for SP PLUS launching December,I did try the package calculator there seems to be some increase between PVR/HD fees as u had noticed,lets wait next month maybe that increase is for those HD channel versions coming up
