Cross posting from the General Question thread.

I intend to apply this RHB card but the form requires my consent for disclosure of information for marketing, promotional purposes to persons or third parties as the bank may deem fit, and a lot other clauses.

Just wondering if anyone of you ever tick no, and your application is still approved? I find the terms required by RHB to be more than other banks.

I think you can tick NO... and still get your details "sold" to marketing companies.

I'll cancel the card by June/July 2014 .... simple !!!
Also because the 5% unlimited offer ends in 31 Dec 2013.... Maybe cancel early 2014 unless there's extension to their promo.

well, as i said, its my first cc ever, and i dont have experience at all at that time...
the story is like this:
- went to tesco kwsp kiosk to print out some form
- a rhb cc agent stand beside, but i duno he is card agent (very kind to help me print, first time use kwsp kiosk, very noob that time)
- then he explain about the card, 5% cash back whatever shit
- that time i duno about GST, i wan a credit card for fun
- ask whether i need to pay anything at all if i apply for the card? any charges at all
- the agent said no, no need to pay anything, just apply and not use also okay, dont have to pay single cent
- then i ask what so good about this card, the agent said got 5% cash back.
- the agent explain more, spend Rm100 in petrol, can get Rm5.
(the actual cash back is Rm100>20%= RM20, then from RM20>5%...u get what i mean)
- i just bought a car that time, so i'm thinking not bad, instead of i pump and get nothing back.
- after 1month or so, know more about cc, then only know about GST

(kinda cheated by that agent, what to do, no experience at all in cc at that time)

- ask around about GST, how to so-called offset it (hye pls dont remove, i'm not creating confusion to adult kids, just explaining my situation)
- finally know about GST offset, then bank also give me additional RM50 to spend, but need to keep the card until december 2013.
- then slowly i know about UOB One, OCBC titanium, mbb amex...and so on, which way better

- RM50 Cashback for 1st swipe within 45 days.
I don't understand one thing. I inquire further on the T&C for the 5% cash back, and I was informed that after 31 Dec 2013, the percentage will be back to the one that stated in the terms and condition:

http://www.rhb.com.my/cards/credit-card/pd...nature-card.pdf

And I found these clause:
QUOTE
3. Subject to the terms stated herein, the Cardmembers shall be eligible for Cash Back rewards pursuant to the following terms and conditions:-
3.1 One per centum (1%) Cash Back is awarded to the Cardmembers as an Award for the following:
3.1.1 For Overseas purchases.
3.1.2 For Online shopping or e-Commerce purchases.

3.2 Half per centum (0.5%) Cash Back is awarded to Cardmembers as an Award for any purchases (other than Overseas and e-Commerce purchases).

3.3 Subject to Clause 3.2, both Principal and Supplementary Cardmember’s Cash Back will be accumulated to a maximum limit of fifty Ringgit Malaysia (RM50) for each Principal Card account for each month.

But as pointed at post #2 and from website, for other transactions catogery, Cash Back is capped at RM200 per month, per customer (excludes Petrol, Government, Cash Advance & Charity transactions). So one contradiction there.

Also, may I know where do you get the info about 'RM50 Cashback for 1st swipe within 45 days' from? It would be strange to have them giving us double cashback promo?

From the RM150 campaign T&C, clause 6:
QUOTE
SUBJECT to these Terms and Conditions, the Applicant whose application is successfully approved by RHB on or before 17 August 2013 will receive a RM150 Cash Back upon first swipe of minimum RM100 within 45 days from card opened date (“Cash Back”) provided that the completed physical application form is submitted, together with such clear and readable supporting documents as may be requested by RHB at its absolute discretion.

The 1st Swipe for RM50 is the normal offer for RHB Credit Cards to "offset GST"
I don't care much about the 0.5% rebate max as I can get this percentage with any credit cards...
I do believe the Product Disclosure Sheet details doesn't tally with the RHB Signature Card description.

Maybe RHB will change from RM200 per monht to RM50 per month (in the future).

From RHB RM150 cash rebate FAQ

I think you can only get one of it according to this FAQ/T&C (RM150 or RM50) and remember to put promo code when you apply for the cash back RM150??? (not mentioned in the original T&C, not confirmed with bank yet)

Another good card now this RHB signature. Unlimited 5% is alot if we pay insurance online!

Can even pay early if premium 10k can get RM500.

But the RM150 promotion list did not show the siganature card. So
?no RM150 CB.

If really can get 5% CB for insurance payment eg using UOB payonline to charge into the RHB card then ,
then i must also apply this card.

Dear Mr. Ronnie

Thank you for your email.

Further to you concern, please be advised that RHB Signature Credit Card (new to bank) is eligible for the RM150 cash back campaign.

We hope the above clarified.

I thought is unlimited 1%? hmm.gif

Question is what online transaction is accepted for that unlimited 5% CB!

Important thing is RHB gives online bill payments unlimited 5% or better still all online payments including insurance.

Please let us know if any online transactions get 5%.

What are the documents you guys submitted.

I was told 3 months salary slip, front/back IC and EPF statement from RHB EPF kiosk. Still waiting for that EPF kiosk to work. Lousy machine here usually offline , "temporary out"........

unable to find the T&C for what constitute online transactions.

As for the docs, refer to the last page of the application form. There are several categories.

The bank should be able to check i think. Hong Leong's Mach also has a catogery for online purchase.

Add: you were notified by SMS? Has the card been delivered to you, normal post or courier?

citi vs requirement is 60k pa. The lowest requirement for vs card in Malaysia market. Not that strict I suppose? Gotten the rhb requirement info from their website already..its 80k pa..i thought it needed 100k pa when I got my card yesterday.

I applied when they launch, definately not RM60k. RM100k if not mistaken.

CIMB is even higher requirement. Maybe CIMB VS membership has better "quality"

We shall see how the unlimited 5% cashback works with RHB. As there's no black n white PDF.

CS has confirmed via email the following
1. New-to-Bank applicant of RHB Signature can get RM150 cash back
2. 0.5% cashback on other spends is capped at RM200 per month (not per their Product Disclosure Sheet)

You can see it posted on the next working day.....

Their online statement doesn't state the Foreign Currency, unlike M2U sad.gif

From Visa's portal : 1 Singapore Dollar = 2.498173 Malaysian Ringgit
My posted amount yield average "1 Singapore Dollar = 2.55 Malaysian Ringgit"

Why are you surprised? We all know that MBB Visa and MasterCard has the lowest conversion fee and other card are higher by close to 1% or more.

Back in 2011, at My Credit Cards blog, I published an article Overseas Transaction - What Credit Card Is The Best? Part II and I have showed that RHB, Alliance and UOB all are higher than MBB for overseas transactions.

But with the 5% cash back with RHB VS for overseas transactions, it is still better than any card in the market until end of this year. biggrin.gif

I've also called RHB to confirm my card application can participate in their 6-month 0% Finance Charges (need topay the minimum 5% each month)
This is similar like CIMB BT 6-month 0% program w/o the waiting time of BT processing smile.gif

6-month no interest means the statement balance for next 6 months with a limit ?max RM3000 we need only pay the minimum and no finance charges?

KInd of similar to the MBF Free Credit for RM3000 for 3 years which i enjoyed since Sep 2011. The max allowed for MBF is RM3000, ie interest free as long as you pay the minimum amount and make sure the balance always not more than RM3000. ie if pay min and balance owed is above RM3k then i kena finance charges for whatever above 3k.

Yeah, can be a trap. Just keep the $ roll in 1 month eFD nod.gif

Programme is open to all eligible Cardmembers (Principal card only) with Cards approved from
15 May 2013 until 17 August 2013, both dates inclusive (“the Programme Period”).

I cancel out this section in my application form. Maybe I will need to write in to get a black and white confirmation.

7. The Cardmember must indicate at the RHB Generic Credit Card Application Form to opt for either one only of the following programmes:-
(i) 0% Balance Transfer for 6 months Programme OR
(ii) 0% Finance Charges on retail transactions for 6 months Programme

Also, clause 10 seems vague:
10. This Programme is not applicable in conjunction with any RHB’s ongoing promotions unless otherwise stated.

Need to check whether transactions are under the 5% cash back promo catogery is it still eligible or not.

shit.. i also cancelled off that section because i thought if we accept that 0% finance we no longer entitled for the Cash Back promo.

Must call the CS and ask them if we can get both together.

I've received my GST RM50 charged about 1 week after card approval date.

Latest reply from Customer Service:

Rebates will be creditted at the End of Statement Date.

If that's the case, my GST would be paid by my 5% UNLIMITED rebate already smile.gif

they need to train their call centre staff more and give them more empowerment to like citiphone.

But as pointed at post #2 and from website, for other transactions catogery, Cash Back is capped at RM200 per month, per customer (excludes Petrol, Government, Cash Advance & Charity transactions). So one contradiction there.
Also, may I know where do you get the info about 'RM50 Cashback for 1st swipe within 45 days' from? It would be strange to have them giving us double cashback promo?

From the RM150 campaign T&C, clause 6:
*
They have updated the T&C to reflect RM200 for the 0.5% Monthly Cash Back

Not sure bout the supplementary card CL... The online portal would show the shared CL only. The limit could be set on the back-end

received my RHB visa Signature today. Applied 4.7.13 at Branch.

I remember reading here the VS entitled to promo RM150 CB on swiping min RM100.

I called the number behind VS card, CS said NO!, this RHB VS is not included in that RM150 CB promotion. True or not??? I wonder if she knows her fact.......Have any of you called to confirm that?

Then i asked her about the 4x PPL access, she said until Dec 31st 2013 i can access 4x FOC. Then from Jan 2014 till Jul 2014 i get another 4x lounge access. THis means there is total 8X access for a year for the RHB VS card???

That CS really made me confused............sigh.....

Sorry i dont quite get it.. What is the 1st category that can earn us unlimited 5%??

The reply pasted by ronnie is equally puzzling. online purchases not considered as online transactions ?? only 1% rebate not 5% till 31.12.13?

ronnie can you please clarify? i understand you are waiting for them to credit the unlimited 5% rebate - what online transactions entitled to that 5%?

Anyway, just to check, online booking made through 3rd party (hotelclub) using MYR as currency should be eligible for the 5% cash back right.

Already received my card today. I am waiting feedback from Miles whether the transaction will be done now or after the stay (check out). I compared the rates using Hotelclub (RHB/CIMB) and Agoda (7% MBB AMEX), they are only RM5 difference, but if can get additional 5% without forex fee, then RHB is the winner.

thanks for the info,

so which is considered as online transactions to entitle for the 1% or 5% CB.......

The T&C says "all online transactions".. by right RHB should honour all bill payments made online eg:

1) using UOB Payonline website, can use RHB card to pay bills, insurance etc. Is RHB going to honour the 5% CB for that?

2)Similarly using RHB card to pay bills via MB2U website isn't that online transactions ?

If you receive the card in Dec, you lose out on the benefit, unless you are a frequent traveller.

I got a disturbing news from colleague/friend. She applied a credit card from RHB roadshow booth in my company.

She received the card but didn't activate the card for usage. Somehow, a statement mailed to her house and slapped with RM 50 GST.

She called to RHB CS and said that the card has been activated. The CS also said the possibility of activation could come from the agent itself by just supplying the applicant IC number.

I found out that this is so not safe practice. I asked her to demand the CS to cancel the card and not to pay for the GST. If RHB doesn't want to do, I also asked her to file a complaint to BNM.

Guys, please be careful. Luckily I insisted that both of my RHB cards to be cancelled.

Some banks will charge the GST once the card is issued. In this case, need to check what is the practice by RHB or what is the guideline by BNM. Personally, I always consider that GST will be charged, regardless whether it is activated or not.

The major concern here is actually on the card activation, and this certainly need to be investigated as it amounts to fraud. I would strongly pursue this issue and direct go to BNM.

add: The card activation procedure for RHB is the most lengthy compared to most of my other cards by the way.

i've actually called to RHB and enquired that as long as the card is not activated there will not be GST charged.
This is due to i actually apply for one card but i receive 2cards - bladdy unethical agent mad.gif ....i was advise to keep since there will be no GST charge if the card is not activated.
now i start to get worried about another card which i did not apply....have to cancel it asap shakehead.gif
How the agent able to activate the card...you'll required the expiry date of the card hmm.gif

God knows and I received SMS that another card is also being approved and issued.

Always make sure you cancel out other cards in the application form, and cross out the IC and income documents, stating specifically which card is being applied for.

It is not in the Terms and Conditions. Quite tricky on the bank's side.

If I am not mistaken, this is the new FAQ document. The previous one does not even mention Signature Card. Can ronnie confirm this?

Yes... the first edition of the RM150 FAQ when it was release DOES NOT list Visa Signature to be eligible.
But subsequent email mentions Visa Signature is part of the RM150 New-To-Bank sign-up.

I may not get it.... due to the first swipe must be RM100 or any swipe with RM100 sad.gif sad.gif
But I'll be saving on the 0% Finance Charges.

Just paid my first RHB Visa Signature Bill ...... using 5% only smile.gif

so you are exercising the 0% financial charges for 6 months?
may i ask if it's the same like what CIMB had 3 years back , whereby you only have to pay 5% for first 5 months, and settle everything before end of the 6th month?

I do remember similar 0% Finance Charges for OCBC Titanium MasterCard when they "re-launch" as the first 5% cash-back CC.

thanks for your feedback.
if i remember correctly, there is a "catch" in the previous OCBC 0% installment program... where OCBC set the payment hierachy. The highest priority is the monthly retail trans , then followed by the installment and so on.

pls check with the bank if you think you need to clarify... otherwise just ignore my message.

have a nice day!

All banks has payment hierarchy.... payment to your CC will be used to offset balance, based on the amount which attracts the highest interest first.

This morning bank officer called me to inform me that my card is approved.
it only took 5 working days from the day i submitted at local RHB branch till card approval.

may i ask
1) is the card sent via courier or just normal mail?
2) can we see the CC transaction via RHB online?
3) how long does it take for the 5% overseas transction rebate to be credited into the CC account?
4. how to get RM50 GST waived?

thank you.
p/s:I emailed to RHB yesterday evening asking about RM150 rebate... no reply up to now.

this morning call RHB to check the delivery status. To my surprise , the officer said " your card is sent for APPROVING, not approved yet!!!"
then i asked her the reason why first 2 sources said it is "approved". she replied : actually that "approved" means " sending for approving".

If that's the case, my GST would be paid by my 5% UNLIMITED rebate already smile.gif

There's no RM50 GST offset given yet... I was merely mentioning the 5% unlimited cash-back (until 31-Dec-2013) earned already can cover the RM50 GST

I've read through all the comments from page 1 to this page, still confuse with 'ONLINE TRANSACTION'.

1. Anything pay via RHB online banking not consider as online transaction. Except pay at merchant website.
2. iPay88, paypal and Groupon not classify as online transaction. What about ebay?

I'm planning to apply this card today.

Just went to RHB at KLCC and applied this Signature card. I was informed this card is new and it will needs at least 2 weeks to process. Regarding the definition of 'online transaction', the CS also not sure, ask me to refer T&C instead... Not helpful at all...

THis RHB VS card cash back - i got only RM0.63. Dont know how they calculate, i thought minimum is 0.5%.

I look at online summary and found this:

31.7.2013 CB RM0.63 CREDIT.
I have made 4 transactions prior to that.

1) 21.7.13 RM127.00
2) 27.7.13 RM63.55
3) 28.7.13 online FF tickets RM118.95
4) 28.7.13 online FF ticket RM123.95

Shouldn't the online firefly tickets attract 5% CB?? I plan to call CS Monday.

0.5% of RM127 transaction = RM0.63 cash back (0.5%)

Definitely MUST CALL their CS and report back here, ok ?

Seems like RHB signature is a very good card to get due to the 5% cash back until end of 2013. I want to thank Ronnie and human nature for your info.

Please take note rm150 cash back only applicable too cards approved by RHB by 17 August 2013. Take note!

Quick question: do you earn points with the signature card?

i see .......so they only counted my RM127 transaction? 0.5% there seems correct....

I think you are right because my statement date is 26.7.13 and payment due is only for that RM127. BUt when i checked the online summary all the other transactions are actually posted already before 31.7.2013.

I did not change statement date.

This is my first statement. Statement date 26.7.13
Card approved 15.7.13
1st spend 22.7.13 RM127 (................. hoping to get CB RM150.........)
25.7.13 GST RM50
No mention about rebate at all on this statement! I only found that out in online account summary.

My application for RHB Signature was rejected eventhough met their criteria (suspect it is becos of BT reflected in CCRIS).

Looks like I am following your foot step in getting cards except this RHB CC. Next on my list is HLB Wise, Watami and CIMB CB Platinum. Good work Ronnie.

First of all, give the bank some chance to take necessary actions.
If the bank fail or refuse to act upon it, then only send an email to Bank Negara.

Very Disappointed with RHB !!!!
Now, I get hands on experience with "Frustration w RHB CC" as per the subject of this Thread.
18/7/13 Applied RHB Signature thru RHB Branch
Told the officer I wanted to do BT and get the rm150 rebate under the their new promo, so submitted all docs required. Was to to submit the BT forms and BT docs later.
1/8/13 Card got approved. tongue.gif
5/8/13 Received the card biggrin.gif
16/8/13 Called RHB cc to enquire how to do the 6mths 0% BT
This is when "hell" start vmad.gif vmad.gif
Was told that I am supposed to submit my all my BT forms and Docs when "applying" the new CC.
My question is,
If their application will take 7-14 working days to be approved,
Thereafter will take another 7-14 working days to process the BT.
This will way overshoot the 20 days interest free period given.
Their processing time just doesn't make sense, how to work???
Their answer is its already in the "Terms and Condition"

So, I told the CS if no BT, then pls cancel the card since thats the main reason i applied the card, the CS told me, to cancel the card need 7-14 working days, their CS in charge will call me for that. shakehead.gif doh.gif doh.gif

There you go, the most "efficient" bank In M'sia, maybe in Southeast Asia !!! doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif

They never call me till now since i cancelled the card, i believe more than 2weeks already.

Questions
- In order to apply for BT, you'll need to activate the card right?
-Once activate you'll be charged RM50 for the GST
-So once you cancelled the card you'll still need to pay RM50? [since GST is non waivable by banks]

That a valid point, which is wat i've argued..., they gave me the BT form anyway today and told me I can apply for the 6mths 0% BT but subject to approval(as usual)

-Once activate you'll be charged RM50 for the GST
I've activated my card, but yet to register online banking, so dun know if i've been charged.

-So once you cancelled the card you'll still need to pay RM50? [since GST is non waivable by banks]

depending on the card u applied, there's a rm150 cashback if u spend rm100 or more in your first swipe.

The code is 4772

For those with Supp card, it is better to check whether they assign the correct Credit Limit for the supp card or not. Mine is different from my application form, so had to call and set it accordingly.

My 2nd statement states : Current Retail Interest is 0.00% drool.gif rclxm9.gif

yet, I'm still charged interest of 84 sen mad.gif
I believe this is because I should have paid RM50 (GST) + 5% of the balance owed.... I paid 5% on that statement. Very sly (just like UOB)

And the Cash-back Rebate received is not considered as Payment, but used to offset the next statement.

curious on why the above Interest Charge is not shown under Online Transsaction History doh.gif

Just got my first statement. After reading your comment, called up RHB Signature line to enquire.

CS insist that just need to pay the minimum amount as stated on the statement. Maybe ronnie should call them up and make some noise?

Strange, my cashback offset the same month's statement - but again of course they don't consider it as payment.

CASHBACK TREATED AS SUCH
For 19/8/2013 statement. Spend RM1000 overseas therefore rebate RM50. Total need to pay RM950; minimum RM47.50 <-- This is correct method

NOT LIKE THE BELOW
For 19/08/2013 statement. Spend RM1000. Total need to pay RM1000. Minimum RM50. But got rebate RM50. Therefore no need pay anything. <-- This is wrong method

i am still waiting for my 2nd statement 26.8.13 to see if there is 5% rebate for online flight ticketings.

As usual any credit issued AFTER statement date even though before payment due date, cannot be used to offset statement balance.

I also receive a call from RHB saying i can have the 6months 0% Finance but i am waiting for a black and white confirmation.

Abit confuse here on RHB's method.

Let's say I spent RM1000 and obtained RM50 rebate (same date as statement). So to avoid any penalty, should I pay RM1000 or RM950?

If it is used to offset the next statement, I need to pay RM1000. Am I right?

if you just pay what the statement balance is, you are safe. Statement balance would have deducted whatever credit/CB/refunds and that is the balance for us to pay.

However if you go deduct CREDITS that appeared AFTER statement date, or you go pay anything less than the statement balance (exlc 0% finance 6 m case) ,then you would likely kena penalty.

If the Cash-back Rebate posted in the same statement, then you pay RM950 smile.gif
My case is unique.... the Cash-back Rebate was posted after Statement Date, thus cannot use as payment but as an offset only. (Different from Maybankard 2 AMEX)

Yeah, best not to assume. Try it and share smile.gif

I did make a Groupon purchase recently but it'll only reflect in the next statement, their transaction is listed as GROUPON instead of Ipay88.

Did you get any sign up bonus/rebate?

I submitted my application to branch earlier this month, and they claim it was approved on 23rd, so I miss the RM150 cash back bonus. I also submitted BT along with application, so don't know approved.

Feel like kena cheated. They can say promo period until XX date and only valid upon approval within promo period. Then they just approve all your applications AFTER promo date, settle lah. So unfair, it should be based on application date during promo period.

Also, my card already at the branch but no notification or call. I can foresee RHB is the shittiest bank based on my experience with HLB, Maybank, SCB (also shitty for sign up), OCBC, CIMB.

If you guys plan to use RHB as your only card, you are going to have a bad time.

Called RHB CS to perform 0% balance transfer but was told I'm not eligible because I need to submit the other credit card's statement together with the application form. I'm kinda confuse as I've already choose 0% BT for 6 months in the application form, just that they didn't mention to attach other card statement.

Anyone has successfully perform 0% BT for 6 months after you've received your credit card?

So much "inconsistency" with the 0% 6-month BT program from RHB.
Getting the 0% Finance Charge is BETTER deal as matter of fact.

There you go, the most "efficient" bank In M'sia, maybe in Southeast Asia !!! doh.gif  doh.gif  doh.gif
*
I managed to get 6mths 0% BT approved... thumbup.gif

*
I argued with the CS, in the end I got the 6mths 0% BT... Haha brows.gif

Has anyone used their RHB Visa Signature overseas?

I did a transaction in GBP on 26/08/2013 and based on Visa website's rates, I was charged a 3.81% bank charge!

I called CS service she said yes it should be 5% but the CB i see in statement dated 26.8.13 is less than i expect.

tried to paste my details here, uanble to do, so i just type:
27.7. old town 63.55
28.7 FF online 118.95
FF online 123.95
6.8 TNB online RM100
6.8 Online marathon fee payment 50
8.8 old town kopitiam 31.65
11.8 same----------62.85
17.8 same----------- 62.85
17.8 Aoen stores 52.55
17.8 Aeon stores 69.95
21.8 FF online 49

25.8.13 CB RM1.68
25.8.13 CB RM22.10

I called CS she said Aeon stores also 5%, others old town kopitiam 0.5%. I am waiting for her to get back, i complained my CB not correct should be more than that if you add all online and Aoen stores 5% should be mnore than RM22.10.

That RM 1.68 i guess is for others 0.5% CB.

If you are using RHB Visa Signature
This falls under 5% Online Transactions
28.7 FF online 118.95

6.8 TNB online RM100
6.8 Online marathon fee payment 50

What's "FF Online" ???

The rest falls under 0.5% Rebate (other Transactions)

that seems close to the CB.

FF = firefly flight tickets. No typo error, all figures correct.

But i have also registered for the 5% CB promotion for 5 stores 19.7.13-30.9.13. Shouldnt the spend at Aeon supermarket be getting 5% as well?

Confirm 100% that PayOnline is 5% rebate - shown in statement already.

Anyone can confirm if Agoda is considered online payment? Was charged in RM - quite good rates, but no OTP/MSOS code so not sure if considered as online transaction

RHB Signature offers unlimited 5% (until 31-December-2013)
Maybankard offers limited 5% (weekend, up to RM1000 spend) + unlimited 2% (in 5X TP)

You do a count and see which is better.... forex is almost the same between the 2 cards

Just got my free drink after I reloaded RM30 to my Starbucks card, and immediately entitled for 1 Grande drink smile.gif.

Basically, talk to the barista first because, for sure they won't know it and will refer to the manager.

So at the end, RM30 credit to my Starbucks card and 1 free grande latte (or any drink as what you prefer).

Redemption was done at Starbucks The Gardens Mall.

Hi I am interest to know what is the transfer rate for RHB Visa Infinity How much I spend in order can transfer to Enrich Miles?
*
RHB Frequent Flyer Program
RM1 Spend = 1 RHB Reward Point
3000 Pts = 500 Enrich Miles, for All Credit Card except for Travel Money Credit Card

Meanwhile, RHB Travel Money CC Need Only 1750 Pts for 500 Enrich Miles or 5250 Pts = 1500 Enrich Miles... thumbup.gif

Anyway, anyone tried top up starbucks card with RHB CC and get free drink?

Cos i even make a complaint and their supervisor attend to me and confirm cannot redeem the free drink if top up RM30 to starbucks card with RHBS CC.

My question:
Is anyone tried top up RM30 starbucks card with RHB CC and get free drink?

Pls see properly my question before reply / answer
*
Referring to this gentleman's question from Starbucks topic. Yes, i successfully reload RM30 into my Starbucks card from RHB. I don't understand what you mean by "must spend RM30 only then entitled free drink". Isn't it deduct RM30 from RHB not considered spend?

Thanks, I already call the centre and cancel the additional card, and asked to report about this agent.
They will call me back later, and I will ask their outbound agent whether there is anywhere in the report stated about my complaint..

regarding the sbux deal rite, i did encounter @ uptown sbux last friday
argue with the store manager that we can actually buy a sbux card with rm30 or reload. i even show her off my ipad on the terms.
stood about 10min there waited for her to confirm, and came back to me say i can do that, without any means of apology.
moral of the day: please insist on whatever you think you're right.
can i conclude that this deal is on for reloading and purchasing on sbux card? smile.gif

sometimes, store manager doesn't know everything one.

When did you apply? According to the T&C of the RM150 cash back, the card must be approved by RHB by XXX date. I can't remember the exact date.

I sign up for my RHB Signature together with the RM150 cash back & 0% balance transfer package 1 week before XXX. After I got my card approved, they say I do not qualify for the RM150 because my application was approved after XXX, but my 0% BT was approved, so I called them and ask why I get 0% BT but not RM150, so they tell me cause I past the XXX approval date..and I say..if that's the case I shouldn't get the 0% BT as well since it is the same offer, so I ask the person on the line should I file report for false promotion with RHB or BNM? She was taken back a bit and she say file with RHB.. this was 2 weeks ago.

I called today to double confirm my statement, and they tell me the RM150 approved and will be credited on my next statement. Woohoo for me.

Personal opinion I feel "approved by RHB by XXX date" is unfair to consumer, because if that's the case I can do a campaign and approve everything AFTER the campaign date. By right should follow application date, after all, the inefficiency of the bank to process and approve application is the bank's problem.

So far enjoying my cash back.

Got my first statement from RHB, 5% cash back on everything, except my transaction did on statement date which will reflect on next month statement.

The thing to do is call RHB CS and bring it to their attention. I don't think it is RHB that called you but someone out to make a quick buck from you. Read this thread and you will see that many experience the same thing as you.

They promised me a Platinum card and ended up giving me 2 Golds...

I did cross all the unwanted options in the form but this had came as a dissapointment and I voiced my unhappiness to the sales person.

He assured me I would get RM150 cashback x 2 for both cards (although I read the campaign is only RM150 x1 even if you get 2 cards.

So far I got email in written for this.

My second bill didn't come the cash back as promised hence I wrote another email to the sales person cc-ing his relevant person-in-charge...

He reassured me I would obtain these in my next statement (3rd month).

I will give him one more chance before I would report this to the RHB complaints department and eventually Bank Negara for a few integrity issues and request for an audit especially on the application form!

Simple, just send an email (with the termination notice) saying that the cancellation is effective immediately and request them to send a confirmation note/sms/email. If there is no reply after 1 week, then re-send that email and CC to Bank Negara.

I've received a call from RHB CS saying that I'm eligible for 6 months 0% finance charge. In this case, I just need to pay minimum payment required as stated in the statement for the next 6 months right?

And I suppose when the 6 mths is up, U're going to transfer your debts to yet another financial institution...haha....just like US government ....treasury maturities up, just sell more treasuries to pay off the maturing treasury.....the result ?....in debt to the tune of USD$16,700,000,000,000.

I just tried at Starbucks Gardens, RM30 to top up my Starbucks card for a free drink, the answer was NO.

RHB T&C regarding Sbux.

Starbucks
www.starbucks.com.my

One (1) Grande beverage of your choice.

• This promotion is valid at all Starbucks outlets in Malaysia only.
• This promotion is valid for purchase made directly at Starbucks outlets only.
• Not applicable for any add- on toppings.

Top up of my Starbucks is not add-on toppings. So according to RHB's own T&C they cannot deny me participation of this promotion. False advertising. I am calling RHB now to complain, if its unsatisfactory I will call BNM to complain false promotion and advertising by bank.

Now according to RHB's own T&C, they can't change these T&C without 21 days notice. So it is still valid as of right now.

Just got off the phone with RHB, file the complain with RHB

First the person on the line say RHB Signature card not applicable due to the clause

"7. This Promotion is not valid with any on-going promotions and discounts at the participating partners’ outlets."

She say my RHB Signature enjoy cashback. So I told her RHB Signature cash back is a card feature, no time limit, its not a promotion. She come back and say it is valid, but not valid for Starbucks card top up because valid for dine-in only, then I told her that's not true because the "dine-in" clause is only applicable to Secret Recipe and Kenny Rogers and others but not Starbucks.

These RHB people really have no clue and simply bang only. Among all the banks I deal with RHB is the paling sotong one.

I also highlighted about the clause that takes 21 days to change a clause or delete a clause etc and I ask her how is the notice given, and she can't give a firm answer, so I requested that I be updated directly if the clause change.

No matter what, I want to enjoy this benefit. Keep you guys posted. We get shafted by banks all the time, no way I will let them shaft us when their T&C says otherwise.

Call RHB and complain, cause its not in their T&C. Say you want to file report.
This is unfair when some RHB card holders can get it, some cannot. And according to their own T&C, by right is can.

I think from the another point of view, the reload is actually a credit transfer from Credit Card to Starbucks Card, which there is no actual spending/transaction, thus I think those outlet that gave out free drink might have been confused.

All in all, its RHB that have overlooked on this. But then again, its hard to blame on RHB as the person that work out this promo mechanism might not be familiar with Starbucks operation, thus, the confusion.

I think there is no wrong in this. The T&C clearly did not say no reload/top-up from RHB to Starbucks card. Anyway i purchased another Starbucks card with RM50 credit in it and paid with RHB card, gotten the free drink and also another complimentary grande size after registering... Anyone done the same?

Whatever it is, if its the bank's fault, that is their problem, as long as WE abide by THEIR T&C, they have to honor it. In the case of RHB, even if they want to change their T&C, they have to give 21 days notice as per their T&C.

The cash back is supposed to be credited within 6-10 weeks after the end of the Qualifying Period, so the earliest is on 21st Oct 2013.

Mine was credited on 18th Oct 2013, first swipe of >RM100 was on 18 July 2013.

Just received my response to my query

-----------------
With regard to your concern, we wish to inform that cardmember within 45 days after such approval date (“Qualifying Period”) makes the first retail transaction of minimum RM100 using RHB Principal Credit Card, will receive RM 150 Cash Back.

However we noticed your first retail transaction made was less than RM 100.00, thus you only entitled for RM 50.00 Cash Back.

RHB is sucks! A RHB officer call me last month and offer me 0% interest free for 6 months, hence I only made minimum payment for my previous statement. But the latest statement I received there is an interest charge. I've raised a case to RHB and let's wait and see what is their response.

1- My salary only RM199x include fixed allowance (before EPF deduction), so im not eligible to apply for the credit card bcoz their min annual income requirement is 24k? (even my total amount almost reach it) cry.gif

2- Can I apply by only submitting my latest EPF statement, without my payslip or bank statement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? My monthly "Syer Majikan" @ RM260 and "Syer Pekerja" @ RM220, total amount RM480, will this amount passed the minimum requirement?

3- Do RHB have FD pledging for applying credit card? If yes what is the minimum amount I need to put in FD?

Thanks in advance blush.gif

Min Salary to apply for CC is not RM2,000 per month but RM24,000 per annum. I suppose if you can prove an annual salary of RM24K, your application should be approved.

http://rhb.com.my/cards/credit-card/cc_travelmoney_main.html

How to prove is Tax Return, total 12-mths Pay Slip

WTA RHB VS 6 months interest FREE offer.

Remember the RHB Visa Signature Card comes with 6 months interest free. After 6 months sure we must clear all hutang.

MY card approved on 15.7.2013 and my 1st statement dated 26.7.2013, payment due on 15.8.2013.

My 6th statement will be on 26.12.2013. So that means i must pay that statement all clear before 15.1.2014?

Anybody can confirm? I dont want to kena charge interest.
I have carried a hutang of 18k already so far.. all interest free, only pay min 5% only.

Going by that my 6 months interest free period will end on my 6th bill right? Any body has reached their 6th statement and still able to pay only 5% minimum and didnt get charged?

thanks ronnie, i go back and checked my statement.

the 1st statement says "current retail interest is 18%"

2nd statement onwards it says "current retail interest is 0%".

So i guess may be i get it interest free till my 7th statement, hopefully.
How about yours? is your first statement also interst 0% already?

Nope, only reflected on second statement. Received feedback from RHB they are investigating this issue, as usual need to wait 3-4 working days.

From the above promo, the Astro account must be under Regular category, active and remain on Autobilling for at least seven (7) months after the end of
promo period (30 November 2013).

If my Astro billing date is on the 1st of every month, I must have the autobilling active until my June 2014's statement right?

What do you mean by inactivated? Can you swipe the card now and transaction go through? If yes, you have to pay RM50 gov tax.

If the card is expired, then no.

Anyone know how does it work?
I try by simply choose a hotel, key in the cc details, but the final price still the same.
If it work like maybankcard2 amex, it should show the discount at final price.

Correction.
Once u received the card, eventhough u never activate it.
At the 1st anniversary, u'll receive a statement with the service tax or even annual fee billed to u.
Anyhow, no big deal, just ring the bank up a few times & request for all those reversed.
