Mind if I ask when you said you put in wrong name, is it the name is TOTALLY different? Like should put Mr ABC but you Put Mr XYZ instead?

Is it that you thought you are buying the air ticket for someone else?

Try to ask whether its possible to transfer the air ticket to another person's name, maybe that will help..

TS, i tumpang ur thread ah. I key in wrong name also, but all particulars are complete except for the name. Its just a minor one though, but i wanna confirm. Its like this, suppose the name is Martha, but i keyed in Marth, i didnt key the last alphabet of 'a'. Will that cause any problem when i check in? cry.gif

I tried to as transfer the air ticket to another person's name, but due to this is a promotion fare, so totally cannot do any things.....

I see others post in LYN said, if change it to normal fare then change name, might be working........but it will cause higher charges for me as i buy 1 more promotion ticket.......too bad... wink.gif

okay here is my past experience,

- called to AA Helpdesk (can get the tel from their website)
- wait for the operator to pick up
- you narrate your problem to them
- they will ask you for your Booking Number, and places you are flying to
- next, you'll have photostate a copy of your passport / IC, fax over to them (or by email)
- give them a call by notifying them you have fax/email over
- they check, they confirm, they will amend the error for you
- they will email you the revised edition of the flight details
- done smile.gif

P/s: i was on promo package as well, no problem wif that.

I think that will be extremely hard.
This way, ppl can manipulate the promo ticket.

Should not be a problem, but for your safety, please call to Airasia Call center +603 87754000, confirm you name error to them and see what respond from them.

Can't be so cheap kua? mine already consider cheap liao & even you pay using debit card to avoid convenience fee & dun buy food/baggage/insurance also min = RM284. So for two min should be RM568 kua? Unless you getting cheaper than the cheapest RM74 ticket than I got hmm.gif

AirAsia just sent me an SMS and email cancelling my flight from Melbourne to KL. They suggested another date which I agreed by replying the email.

I've heard many stories on AirAsia flight cancelled, and slow response and difficulty in re-scheduling flights. Is it true?

If I don't hear from them on the flight re-scheduled confirmation, what's the best way to reach them and get confirmation? Any advice on what I should do?

See from the FB,they having good news again soon, dunno is zero airticket or Japan...just pray Japan dun come so fast...I just book my ticket to Seoul at Nov and I will go phuket on Feb and Taiwan at Apr...

Is good AA giving promo with travel period far from now to giv us time to save money....But the problem is my speed of saving $ cannot compete with the speed they giving promo....*sigh*

If they launched Japan, I think I will diet for 1 year and declare bankruptcy...

*
erm i think many people have this problem.. my aunty n her family bought zero fare to macau last yr.. less then rm500 for 4 pax.. then suddenly this yr my cousin got exam on the date cant go.. but at the same time so ngam my aunty went to AA to check see can change name or not they cancel that day's flight so they can change date n get to go ~.~

Any idea on the reliability of AA flights to Chengdu? I mean are delays common or are they quite punctual? REason i'm asking is i need to book an onwards connection so assessing how much of a risk it is.

edit: and he says everytime they delay they are very smart.. delay for 2hr+ then can go on plane because i think 3hrs they have to give some vouchers or what

its just rumours
not sure if its confirmed..
no idea how much it will be
but lets hope there is some both way RM1 promotion esp UK drool.gif drool.gif

But i will never book gold coast ever again even if its cheap.
The seats are terrible compared to other flights.. AAX London flights is still ok but GC is really unbearable!
It cannot be reclined backwards!!
so avoid GC during AAX sale.

Can visit either HK or Macau thread. Lotsa discussion & link there....Well the 1 way ferry ticket is not cheap. The 1 hr (Similar from K Kedah to Langkawi) cost ~HK145 during weekend & cheaper by HK$10 during weekday if I'm not mistaken. (~ RM60/pax/way)

Can try my way for sure you will covered more cities but need more days & spend more time at China side (Cheaper hotels too)

Macau (1nite) >Zhuhai (passing-by> GuangZhou (1nite) > Shenzhen (1N) > Hong Kong (1N/2N) > Macau (1N or straight to airport). Spend more on tranportation too..haha bcos bus ticket ffrom Zhuhai to Guanzhou is RMB75 & speedtrain (200km/hr) from Guangzhou to Shenzhen (RMB75 too). Hotels in China side for sure dirt cheap..even a 3 stars can get RM100)

I booked my jakarta trip for 3 persons return at RM120 only i.e RM40/pax return!! FOC ticket lah haha during the earlier promotion late last year..going Oct 2010

Wow stimix, you manyak geng ah!

Your itinerary required atleast 6D5N or 7D6N (less rush).

But it covers alot of places. Killing many birds with one stone.

Only drawback is alot of travelling in between.

Sounds adventurous. brows.gif

That wan is suggested itineraries..Too bad due to chasing for cheap fare, I got only 4D3N @ Pearl river Delta cities crossing those cities within 4D3N haha..anyway been there in mid 90's so the recent trip OK lah since only spent day trip without stay at Guangzhou & Hong Kong.. blush.gif My actual itineraries not recommended for 1st timer there..haha.. biggrin.gif Even I regretted not spending enough time at Guangzhou..miss atleast 3 famous attractions doh.gif OK-lah since Guangzhou also nothing much to see..Highrises nia.. biggrin.gif

Agree agree, I show my friend your suggestion, she also say is very rush for first timer like her.

I read your post about the ferry fees from Macau-HK, which is like RM60/way.

I heard that you get free ferry ride from Macau to HK if you go to their Casino, true or false?

No-lah no free ferry ride. Free shuttle buses got-lah biggrin.gif from airport straight away to Venetian & Venetian to Macau all using free shuttle buses.. rclxms.gif

The ferry rate has increased since my last trip in mid 90s' During that time, if I'm not mistaken ~ HK100 nia & that time HK$100 only ~ RM30! Anyway HK$ also dropped a lot liao..in 2008, it was HK100 to RM47 now only RM42 rclxms.gif so food & etc getting cheaper in Hong Kong!!

erm erm im thinking lor because i think kl macau is rm7x , for kl-hk is rm215( if not mistaken) but if you dont plan to go to casino then.. wasting of time to transit and like stimix say the ferry ticket is not so cheap(rm30 per ways means both way rm60)... so dont know yet~~

but like rayfoo mention got express link @.@ then dont know laio

wah stimix u went to so many places? form macau to guangzhou far? because im thinking of visiting guangzhou but the flight ticket not cheap leh =(

Added on August 10, 2010, 4:58 pmanyone knows after this RM1 fare will there be zero fare still? >.< miss out hk trip liao no more cheap dates sigh =( ya their hostel/hotel are expensive.. i think if cincai 1 hostel also need rm100 per month.. saw some review looks scary haha (details frm HK thread)

Not RM30/way but RM60/way!! Return ticket is at RM120 hor..haha

Macau to Guangzhou is ~ 3hrs by bus. But I stayed overnite at Zhuhai & nxt morining to0ok the RMB75 VIP bus to Guangzhou (2.5hrs)

Nite market & underground at Zhuhai suprisingly much lively than the dull Macau & also much better than Guangzhou Beijing Lu...

I think you miss calculated jor.

Stimix says ferry ticket is RM60/way. (Macau to HK only).

If Macau-HK-Macau should RM60 X 2 = RM120/pax.

Betul ka Stimix?

P/s: No I haven't book any yet. Waiting for my boyfriend's green light. But have already submitted my "proposal" tongue.gif

Zhuhai & Macau actually having no real city boudaries as the sklyines of Macau actually overshadowed by Zhuhai newer skylines..infact surrounded Macau from north, North East till South East side of Macau surrounded by Zhuhai skylines...16yrs ago, you hardly see the Eastern side of Macau (Zhuhai new district) wth any highrises at all..jungle got-lah..I was shocked to see so many newer & much modern towers/highrises oposite the eastern side of Macau compare to what I remembered 16 yrs ago..haha

Just check the far end background opposite the ruin of st Paul..Those newer highrise are Zhuhai new district which was a jungle/kampungs 16yrs ago

user posted image
Anyway, Zhuhai is just another city beside Macau..I can't say it's nicer just that the shopping experience at the huge underground Mall & above ground the nite bazaar..I regretted dun buy anything there thinking Guangzhou better but not sad.gif

cos flights into and from australia prohibits taking more than 100ml of any liquid in your carry-on. this means that if u buy liquid duty free from a foreign airport past the secu check point then it will not be permitted into australia

wondering if LCCT has a similar rule nowadays.

Not sure about Aussie & probably other western airports rules too due to previous bombs scare. If Malaysia airports do the same langkawi can close shop liao.

Well, lotsa ppl even buy liquor at the departure louge and bring back to their hometown & etc..sumore malaysia domestic airports even allow liquid >100ml to be bring into plane except international flight all bcos of the rules created by wetern airports

i dont think have problem, brought back many times from uk/sg/japan/hk (3 yrs back for hk) after u check in you can bring any ml you want, if you buy alcohol they will seal it because already pass the custom check part....

if you have pass the last section(where u have to queue n stamp ur passport) dont buy any alcohol, only buy at the airport, because purchasing ask them again is it can bring up to the plane, i think shouldnt be a problem.

It's Lianhua Lu (Lotus road). It's a big pedestrian mall, the most happening part of town.
The other place for shopping is the underground shopping complex in Gongbei, just next to the immigration. Hotel rates in Zhuhai are much cheaper than Macau and it is only a short taxi ride across.

There is also good seafood in Zhuhai, a fishing village on the western part of the city.
The whole city is new, built within the last 20-30 years. There's a long stretch of recreation parts along the seafront.

Going there again next year. Managed to get my RM2 tickets to Macau. I like the old world charm of Macau, very pedestrian friendly.

Booked late May for a total of RM200 each for a group of 4:
- Penang to Hong Kong (RM101, planning to stay 4 nights in HK)
- Macau to Penang (RM100, planning to stay 2 nights in Macau)

Plan to take a Turbojet ferry from HK to Macau on the 5th day. biggrin.gif

Surprisingly buying a ticket from Macau to Penang is slightly cheaper (RM10 or so) if you pay in Macau money (MOP) including convenience fee.

Hi,

I have a question here. If I still do not have passport, can I book the ticket first and apply for the passport later?

If can, what should I fill in the column of passport details? IC number will do?

Thanx. smile.gif

This is my first time booking tickets on AirAsia.com.

I booked 4 tickets this morning at 6am, and paid via direct debit Public Bank ebank. The transaction went through and the amount is deducted from my bank account. After the payment, the bookings page was automatically loading something, and then it failed with the message saying that the server was busy. Then, I tried to check the status of my booking but it says that it's invalid. I have not received any emails from AirAsia since I booked those tickets just now. Is this normal?

Help~!

I bought ticket to Perth in May, few mths back.
All the information I provided are correct. My name, tel, email..etc.
So after successful transaction, AA sent me the itinerary via email.
I checked, no errors at all.

So yest I log on to my account. And I realized, there is a mistake in my name.
Chinese name normally are 3 words like Aaa Bbb Ccc. Spaces in between.

Usually, name appeared is first name and then last name. So shud be Bbb Ccc , Aaa
But the name appeared for the ticket purchased is BbbCcc , Aaa. No space in btwn my first name.

So again I request itinerary sent to my email. And the name really diff with the first itinerary I got when I bought tat time.

Is there any problem to check in ?

I hv send inquiry to AA. still no replies. Abit worry cos travelling in Sept, next mth.
Felt that this is really AA's mistake.

What shall I do? Pls advise

I've waited for more than 12 hours already, but I still have not received the email from AA.. the money has already been deducted from my bank account though.

I had a chat with someone on the Live Chat thing, and he said he needs a booking number to help me, and he asked me to call the premium line instead. I have a booking number in my transaction slip, but he said that it's not it.

Do you think my booking is secured and I have seats for the flight that I booked?

Added on August 11, 2010, 8:51 pmAlso, I have just tried to make another booking to check whether the seats that I have booked earlier have been taken.. they are still available. Some of the seats that I have booked have been taken by someone else as well... This means that my booking still hasn't went through but they have deducted my money from my account. sad.gif

I have a reference number in my pbebank.com transaction.. there's also a booking number, but it's something like A0438FDS2000012472. not the 6-character one.

There was a problem with the server that time. After I paid on pbebank, then it tried to load someting on airasia website, but it failed because the server is busy or something..

tomorrow i'm going to check with the airasia sales office..

Yeah, I am an AA member and it's not listed under Manage My Bookings. But in my bank account, it shows that it has already deducted the amount from my balance, so that's weird.

The RM1, if u see the promo without anything added really RM1. To Bandung return, you should get RM1+25 (Tax) +RM1 (Return) wth no tax - so total = RM27 return.
What you are getting is no longer RM1 promo fare dy. meaning you missed the RM1 liao! Also, dun forget to really getting the RM27m you have to exclude baggages (RM20/way, exclude insurance (~RM12.way), exclude food & exclude pick your seat, otherwise you will be ended up to RM100+ too biggrin.gif

Furthermore by Yesterday, AA already announced they already sold all the RM1 tickets liao..probably you arte to late dy. & they even broke world record on that sales:

I've just did a search on AA booking system, the MYR1 tickets to SG are still available tongue.gif

I'm not sure if anybody notice it, usually they only offer very limited MYR1 ticket per day, only 1 or 2 per day, anybody research on this? unsure.gif

i just realized i entered the wrong state for my address. it should be Kedah but when i check back my itinerary, it is stated at Wilayah Persekutuan KL. will it be a problem when I check in later? because as I know, usually if the name is different, it will be a problem but, what about address?

BTW, just received email from AA Y'day..Tonite 12 am (consider 2morolah)...AAX promo starts. Flying to Delhi & mumbia at zero fare & to elsewhere- RM99

Depending what xtra you want-lah..You can't escape the LCCT airport tax of RM25 & Taipei airport tax of RM70.

So the cheapest will be RM293 withoput baggages, insurance, seats & food..If you add those, expecting RM320 to RM400 cheapest.

According to AA, all in fare is
KL- Taipei RM 149.00
Taipei-KL RM105

So i guess the cheapest is rm249... taxes included
For Taipei airport charges & fees are collected upfront

Hmnnn..funny...Meaning the promo fare from Kl to Taipei = RM124 & not RM99 (Tax=RM25) & from Taipei to KL is only RM35 only (Tax=RM70) ?? does not make sense at all..

Just a tip for Taiwan travelers...
Book ur tickets separately to save money

KL-Taipei RM 149
Taipei-KL TWD1000 (approx RM99)
Total RM248 for return tax included
Compared with booking together for rm343, it’ll be cheaper by RM95

The strange thing is for TPE-KL-TPE is only TWD1615 ( RM160) tax included
Not fair one biggrin.gif

hey guys.. i nvr try AA before..
And i saw there's promotion price and my hometown is taipei,
the rate shows rm149 at the table..
the travel period is april to august 2011

i want to choose 8 june to 18 june, but seems a lot of error.. the page error for like 3 times..

and the rate before tax is rm224 =/

whats the meaning for rm149 then? and.. im going back with my family, we have 4person, we will bring four luggage but can we just select 2 person to check in 4 luggage?

or can i go to the air asia office to book.. much more easier??

thanks for helping guys <3

If you walk-in the rate will not be the saem anymore, AA stress on Online booking. & the promo is only online.

I normally only buy 1 baggage for 3 person. You can check in all the bags provided all <15kg. Dun waste on buying so many baggages.

Question for clarification.

Gonna book flights for Bali. My partner hasn't got a passport yet. Possible to do booking without any problems? Or rather later the checking in on actual day, would it have any problems is what I'm more worried about.

For Indonesia and those countries without intergrated ticketing system, you need to pay the airport authority before they allow you to enter departure area. It's rp150,000k or ~ RM55

Hi, just wanna know if there's any charges by AA (i.e.penalty. fee) for "no-show"....
Example: i book three tickets as a group but come to the actual date only myself can make it...would i be penalized for those two who's not coming...

This kind of situation happen to me last few months while travelling with another local airlines...We book and paid 3 return tickets (KL-Sandakan), but come to actual date one of my friend couldnt fly with us...during check-in, the counter staff told us that we need to inform them earlier in case of no show...otherwise we'll be penalised...i said whatta heck, got such thing arrr??? we already paid & summore not asking for refund ... shakehead.gif ...luckly it's on the company, so i just said "whatteve la".....

Maybe there was some miscommunication with the counter staff ? How can AA penalise you when AA have no access to your bank account or your wallet ?
The only reason AA want you to formally inform to cancel your ticket is probably they can reopen the seat and sell it to some one else.

mayb this have been asked before but it was not pinned on the 1st page. May i know is Air Asia X planes better than normal Air Asia Plane? I booked my Taipei trip next year June and it is with Air Asia X, the plan is bigger because when i choose the seat, i can see there is a middle row there. But will the seats be a bit bigger? because i often fly from Singapore to KL and the Air Asia Plane seats are horrible. if it is the same, then i think i have to suffer for a few hours in that cramp area. I am a fat guy so quite hard to fir my butt in the normal AA seat.

That's exactly what the M*S counter staff told me...At that time i was worried she doesnt allow me to board until we settle the charges but then she told me the charges will be billed to the payer (in my case the company) rclxub.gif ....i bet she doesnt know what she saying... shakehead.gif
Anyway already follow-up with my account staff, no debit note or additional invoice received from M*S with regard that particular trip...

Thanks for the feedback icon_rolleyes.gif

I heard that from 2011 onwards, we can no longer combine baggage allowances when travelling with more than 1 person.

Eg. Person A buys 30kg check-in allowance and Person B didn't buy check-in allowance. Person B not allowed to check in any luggage even though total baggage check in is below 30kg

No need to pay extra to change the seat if you already paid the RM5/RM25 fee when doing the booking.
You can do it under Manage Booking.

after i web check in and print out the boarding pass, i just need to go the the check in counter to get the stamp of verification right? is there a time limit for this? or i can just waltz in like 40 min before my departure time? ^^
*
Just used for last week flight to Bangkok.

For international flight, the travel document verification counter is exactly at the international departure gate (not check-in counter, why still need to queue for boarding pass?) They will take your passport, verify and stamp on your boarding pass printed on A4 paper. Boarding gate will be closed 20 minutes before your departure time. 40 minutes is okay, consider you need to spare time for custom check which sometimes has long queue.

Good for no check-in luggage!

Hello,

I mistakenly type in the wrong Surname for my Contact Details.
Again, not Passenger Name but Contact Details. Will that be alright?

That is why I totally stop travelling with AA. Their rules are ridicilous. We,customer are their mercy and become like beggar. My friend book flight KUL/Manado 6 mths in advance. Then they stop KUL/Manado/KUL. Asking for refund or change destination from original route was a nightmare. How can they do this to customer who pay for the service?? It was not our fault they stop the route and the least they can do is to make the refund/change route process a whole lot easier.

QUOTE(ronnie @ Aug 23 2010, 09:56 AM)
I heard that from 2011 onwards, we can no longer combine baggage allowances when travelling with more than 1 person.

Eg. Person A buys 30kg check-in allowance and Person B didn't buy check-in allowance. Person B not allowed to check in any luggage even though total baggage check in is below 30kg

Added on August 23, 2010, 10:02 am

No need to pay extra to change the seat if you already paid the RM5/RM25 fee when doing the booking.
You can do it under Manage Booking.

Well, AA is like dat. you pay peanut you get monkey. Anyway although whatever fee or changes they imposed, still cheaper than others. My premium flight by MAS by their cheapest promo ticket (just like AA without promo pricing)...also I got monkey although paying sharkfin!

I beg to differ. I travel to Australia and Vietnam via MAS promo and the service is superb. Recently went to HK with MAS promo.Paid for RM1125 return economy class. AA selling for RM930. Difference is only RM195. Better take MAS. I travel quite frequent to KK as I am from KK. Many times I paid not more than RM300 for return tkt by MAS. If you want to change tkt, penalty RM50 only. AA?? NO WAY!! You must pay the air fare difference and RM100 penalty. Many times I travel to Indonesia (Jogja,Jakarta,Surabaya) via MAS promo and paid not more than RM350 but service is still better than AA. I got 20kg baggage allowance and food. Unlike AA will charge everything (don't be surprise in the future they will charge us for using the plane toilet).

Cheap doesn't mean you have to compromise the service. Cheap doesn't mean you make your customer become beggar. Consumer are smarter nowadays. I am in the service industry for 16 years and I know what is service all about.

BTW, AA stewardess skirt is too short. Look at their skirt when they squat while handling the food tray. You can see their panties!!!!!!!!!!!

Why-lah you go and buy regular AA ticket without promo? AA promo ticket is not RM930 but only RM250 to hong Kong haha..If you ask me to buy those regular AA without Promo, for sure I choose MAS-lah. Diff classy..

What I mean is comparing apple to apple between MAS Promo & AA Promo. I got a MAS promo to Taiwan for RM780 last year whereas AA the cheapest at that point of time RM750..SO MAS better for sure..However days after I purchased MAS, AA offering same time & date for ~ RM350!! Sigh...Well. NVM, I though getting better service wth the new MAS 737-800..Well I was wrong! The plane is so narrow & even smaller than AA Airbus320 & the food so lousy & only 2 toilet at the back for Economy class..& the front two for Business class.so u imagine how long is the que waiting for toilet not to mention the disturbance

If only a contact detail, sure no problem. Passenger still can go on board.

I believe most important for the contact detail is about the hp no. that they will sms you if any flight time change.

You know, with RM250 u get all the inconvenience. Flight delay and distrupt our whole progrmame. So no,even with free air ticket I won't fly with Air Asia. AA should change their name to Delay Airline. How many times u heard MAS flight is delay?? But AA is most of the time. In your case, it doesn't happen everyday unlike AA. The moment u book your flight with AA, u just pray your journey won't be distrupt. In All About Hong Kong thread, this lady travelling with her BF next year to HK and her flight by AA to HK schedule to arrive HK at 8pm. She added there, if there's no delay. We are supposed to enjoy our holiday not worrying abt or not we will arrive and depart on time. We already stress at the beginning of our journey.

the of course i will take AA the diffrence i can pay for my food n accomodation oredi..
Cant complain much because its no frills... Luckily for me i did not encountered any problem wif AA so far..
Of course if u can afford better airlines then just go for MAS airlines.

Yeap..You can't really complain much when you are paying RM250 to Korea, RM120 to Jakarta or even RM450 to Melbourne & etc..haha..Whatever delay or etc, you still get a super good deal.Korea will be my dream & as well Aussie if not because of AA..

What you gonna expect from a no frill airline?

Just came back from Gold Coast holiday via AA. I bought it Nov last year offer for RM550 per pax. No delay, spacious and not tiring for 8hrs flight!

Well, no entertainment and also need to fork out money to purchase food...but with such low airfare, I wouldn't mind to pay for it, even for extra baggage allowance.

For those who are used to MAS service, definately AA is not in their prefered list, however by judging the small $$ we pay for AA Promo airfare, it is wise to go with AA....I am hoping one day MAS will offer low cost flights to worldwide like AA.

I heard AA is going to fly to Japan by end of the year during my recent flight to Gold Coast. Anyone can confirm this news?

Yes, can recline to the back. Leg room is consider spacious.

I think all AirAsia X planes have this new seating configuration as they may feel they cannot have 100% occupancy for all the flights. Received too many complain from passenger. smile.gif

I did not book any flight, because I not dare to book any flight before AA answer my question.

Just last month, I ask some questions through their online feedback form. Until now, I haven't receive any reply. I still keep the GSM no.

Should I complain to NCCC?

I believe u can get back ur tax only. After the travel date just contact airasia for tax refund. Might take up to 2 mths but at least better than nth.
Otherwise change ur date of travel.

airasia do not give out poker cards. its a no frills budget... this is not MAS airlines
Everything u need extra u have to pay.so if u want poker cards i suggest bring ur own deck of cards
mineral water is RM3 a bottle.
I believe u can use laptop on the plane but not during take off n landing..

otherwise order the entertainment tv for RM35.. so u can watch movies play games n etc
i did that on my aa flight to london.. well worth it for such a long flight.

last year i bought 2 tix to bangkok for this coming october, free seats, along with 15kg checkin...

unfortunately i cannot make it. my understanding from reading the posts here is that, instead of claiming refund before the trip, i should wait until the trip is over? and i can only claim the airport tax and burn the checkin luggage fees?

how much would it cost to change name or change date?

im thinking of allowing 3 hours between a flight from gold coast to lcct then lcct to ho chi minh city. reaching lcct at 1510 and leaving at 1805, i will be dropping my luggage with a friend on arrival at lcct n leaving for ho chi minh with practically no luggage.

based on u guys' experience, will that be enough time or should i aim for allowing more time? hmm.gif

Base on my past experience, if the flight from Gold Coast is not delay, then there's enough time for you to catch the flight to HCM.

Wouldn't 3 hours be cutting it too close? There's always the possibility of flight delay.
Plus, since AA is a no frills airline, they don't do check through right?
So that means you need to check in for your KUL - HCMC flight?
If you have luggage, you need to pick up your luggage, then check in again?
Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. blush.gif

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.  blush.gif
*
yea that's why im thinking

im gona get off the flight, check out, drop off my luggage with a waiting friend, and then check in with only hand carry to board the HCM flight. if everything goes smoothly it will be alright but there wont be much room for error sad.gif

shouldnt be a problem if ur camera bag is not so big, else use 1 hand carry to put them all in, because all of us can have 1 hand carry bag

It's alright. My main destination is not to LONDON, thought of AA is cheap, so take Stantead as Landing point... Anyway, I booked Qatar Airways from 20th Dec - 14th Jan for RM2162. I believe is a great price compare to AA.

based on u guys' experience, will that be enough time or should i aim for allowing more time?  hmm.gif

is it ok if we buy liquor and other stuff in the airport departure hall and carry them into the plane? or the less than 100ml rules still apply even if we shop inside the departure hall?
how if the things we bought exceed the hand carry rules?

When you book more people on the flight, it may not have sufficient cheaper seats for 4 people. Have you tried to book 4 times (1 person each) ?

Their fares are based on demand
i.e. RM113 - 20 seats, RM130 - 50 seats

Firstly I thought of fly with AA to London and transit to Zurich ... But after some calculation, not worth as AA not included luggage, meal and etc ... Then I got a better deal from Qatar Airways, RM2162 return KL-Zurich!

It's not only about the weight but also the size must fit the standard size. If the 58L backpack can fit in the standard sized jig b4 entering departure hall..for sure no problem. Probably try to reduce the height of the backpack to smaller size fitting the jig

my experience with air asia last flight to langkawi AK 5325 14 september

we prebook meal for 6 of us. and like usual those prebook will get their meal early than others rite.

got 1 FA, i think new FA base from her reaction and attitude. she bring 4 nasi lemak and 2 sandwiches . after distribute the sandwich, while she want to pass the nasi lemak to my bro she drop the nasi lemak on my brother . the nasi lemak like usual very hot. and somemore my brother is wearing short since its our holiday. haha funny at first but pity my brother since i can see the " merah merah at his tight " sorry not good in english.
btw, lucky we are on mood to holiday so we are so lazy to get this thing more futher. so i just hope if that FA is surfing this forum please be careful next time. u are lucky u drop it on malaysian like us. if u drop to foreigner that really want play a fool with AA u are in deep trouble

overall AA is the cheapest smile.gif

Rofl.. FA are still human, human make mistakes all the time.. even the AA will understand that fact.. unless that FA drops the nasi lemak 7 times in a week flight..

By the way, last time i booked 2 tickets go guangzhou this year somewhere June but unable to go due to i just go employed that time. i was reading thru this thread that we can claim the airport tax back rite?

Some say cannot some say can... anyone can confirm this?

Who say liquid is prohibited? Only International flight affected due to the threat against UK /US and Western world resulted in this ruling.

Domestic flights are not affected by this rule. Anyway you can google for the International flight ruling on this..All standard whole world

I didn't go on my Aussie trip in March, didn't see anything show up on my credit card. AA happily kept the airport tax (along with the baggage fees, food etc).

No surprise, only 3 flights per week, and probably less than 10 tickets for each plane, all the RM74 tickets should be sold within the first 20 mins.

for example egg tarts from macau....
i would like to bring some back, but if i check in these tarts, it will most likely to become scramble egg instead of tart...

Hi.

I booked my international flight for Dec 2010 & it's confirmed.

But I forgot to pre order/pre book on meals! Can I still pre book it now?

Also, am I allowed to bring computer gadgets like USB TV card (with CD & foldable aerial in the box) & 2.5/3.5" external hard disk in either hand baggage or luggage? I don't wanna use my laptop on board the plane, they are for me to watch TV during my holiday!

How about dried foodstuff like biscuits & curry powder in luggage [not to consume onboard]? Some stuff I wanna take for relatives.

Hi,

I recently bought a ticket for my friend to fly from Miri to KK on AA. I paid using credit card. I waited for a few hours and I have yet to receive the confirmed itinerary in my email.

I logged on to AA website and saw that the status of the booking is confirmed. So I clicked resend itinerary and waited for another hour but I still haven't got the itinerary in PDF format. If I gave my friend the booking reference, can she still check in with just that?

Thanks.

Definitely can, there is no rules saying that you can't bring any food on board.

I've seen some people eating Mandarin oranges when flying to China last time.

And also, I've seen people eating groundnuts in the plane somemore, bet those air stewardess have some kind of cleaning to do later.

For AirAsiaX flights I have seen written on the food menu or info book that you cannot consume outside food on the flight. But I have seen a LOT of people who do bring snacks, just eat them discreetly, I don't think the attendants would be too strict about it.

On my last flight I noticed AAX flights have replaced their bad non-reclinable seats with new comfy ones! Just wrote about it HERE.

So I'm assuming their long haul flights are fairly comfortable and reliable these days as opposed to being a big pain in the ass?? Was thinking of maybe going to Christchurch via Jetstar in Melbourne and was thinking of an Air Asia flight for the KL-Melbourne leg.

From my personal experience I'd absolutely recommend them, I've flown the KL-Melbourne route return 3 times with AAX, and twice before that with MAS. I've not once experience delays, I prefer the planes because they are quieter and cleaner (being new), and the new seats are comfortable (but maybe a little narrower than MAS). Even if the flight cost was the same as MAS (excluding the add on baggage and meal costs) id still stick with AA.

QUOTE(p2paddict)

It should be fine, i've taken all kinds of electronic gadgets between Australia and Malaysia before (Australia can be pretty strict), just because I didn't want to put my more valuable things in checked luggage. Just make sure you have batteries to be able to power everything up to demonstrate that it's a real device (eg. turn on laptop), but they usually won't even ask this.

Meh. Air Asia is the only option I can afford these days anyway. Used to travel on MAS a lot as my mom used to work for MAS hence the entitlement of free tickets. No longer applicable for it these days though as I'm no longer a dependent. So need to look up my own tickets to Air Asia. The expats in my office raves about Air Asia to be honest, while I have never flown it. My first flight on Air Asia will be the end of next month to Jakarta after which I'll be looking for tickets to Melbourne and Christchurch, preferably in the winter.

I was initially slightly guarded on travelling long distance on AA previously. The initial comments was how it sucks some major ass, delays and all that. My main concern being what the hell do you do on the flight when there's no entertainment or otherwise but being told different. But then again, I have travelled on a 23 hour flight to New York via Stockholm before being strapped to my seat for about 80% of the time as I don't want to be woken up during turbulences, being asked to strap on my seat belt and on a 12 hour flight from London with no entertainment whatsoever as my entertainment system wasn't working. Spent most time sleeping.

But hey, everyone keeps saying it's alright, so I'm guessing it has to be ehh??
