Yalor. And only a few minor injuries and no casualties.
News even reported that the pilot handled it very well no?
*
This crash in KCH airport is only coz of heavy rain & slippery runway right? Some more not because of airplane problem.

Even car can crash if drive at high speed during heavy rain on slippery road. Does that mean those that complain will not drive their car again?

sigh.

Ya if not mistaken, I read that it was due to the weather and it skidded.
Some people still are not aware that cars are much more dangerous and so much more people die on the road than in the air. Yet they still drive like crazy drivers.  mellow.gif
*
Agreed 100%.

That's why they shouldn't complain and say AA is a lousy airline just because it skidded. Then might as well as them take bus/train to their destination LOL

i can make a payment using paypal from melbourne-kl but there is no paypal payment option from kl-melbourne..any idea?

Yes, it's probably because paypal is not widely used in Malaysia itself.

Can just use credit card, debit card or direct debit.

Hi ppl,

I made my reservation with AA. I also booked the SKYBus from KL Sentral - LCCT.

During the booking, I remembered I saw a window where I was suppose to print the ticket for the SkyBus. However I thought I will receive an email from AA for the SkyBus.

Now that I have the email, I don't see any tickets for the SkyBus.

Upon using the SkyBus, now do I show my Itinerary or am I suppose to print some special ticket to show it to them?

Thx ppl.

Going to Sabah using AA, any tips? or things I should beware of?

Thx again.
*
If i'm not mistaken, in your e-ticket right, there should be a breakdown for the total amount that you have paid. The Skybus PAID ride will be stated there.

AA to sabah is a-ok. biggrin.gif

hi guys..need some opinion here..i booked oredi tix to goldcoast (i wanna go sydney using jetstar )..so is it better to have travel insurance with airasia or jetstar..or i need to buy both?...or just buy some other travel insurance like axa or kurnia at some travel agencys?
opinions appreciated..thx!
*
Actually it's up to you. Both are ok.

For me, i usually buy AXA travel insurance and if i buy AA ticket, i dun buy AA's insurance. AXA's compensation is higher and the price is affordable.

For full commercial fare, no choice but to pay for the airline's insurance.

Edited to add:
For airline's insurance - if not mistaken, this will only insure you while you are in the aircraft, when your luggage is handled by them, or if the airline is delayed etc.

For AXA travel insurance - includes above and also while you are on the ground (foreign country). Incase your items gone missing or anything.

Hey guys , I am facing a problem now which tat we try to do booking on Airasia's site but den the booking process needs passport's expiry date.. But my fren's passport almost expired before the date we going to book. So how ? Can we just filled in the date of real expiry date but by the time we go out country the passport got renew can anot ?

Added on March 28, 2011, 8:06 pmGive your guys a clearer scenario about my case .

My passport is going to expired on 22 of June 2011 but my trip which is going to bangkok will be 6 of May 2011 .

In process of booking tickets , the expiry date of passport is one of the requirement.

Should I just fill in tat date but I renew as soon as possible or I cant do booking now ?
*
Hey,

You are malaysian right?

At the place where you need to fill in the passport, just put in your IC no will do. Ignore the expiry date.

I always do this.

I believe that the passport no requirements is more to non-malaysians.

I also tried to pay using direct debit to avoid the 'convinience fee' but failed. Always go to error page - not sure why. Have to use CC in the end. sad.gif

Ohh i witness this before in Surabaya airport . the AA staff very cocky one , and keep asking a guy to fit his bag tru the small square steel frame and to weight it . so the poor guy and another chick , were ask to go back all the way to the check-in counter to clear it out . .
*
Hrm, i think they do not intend to be cocky. It's just a measure from allowing ppl to bring more than 7kg (allowed weight) of cabin luggage coz I believe there should be some limit of KGs for hand carry luggage to avoid any problems with the flight.

Later if flight got problem coz too heavy, u all blame the airline pulak when indeed it's the passenger's being ignorant of the rules.

Well to me they being disrespectful for their own customers and bullies .
if wanna make reinforcement , then do it right . do it smart .. try not to humiliate others , esp if the person is older than u or even some 'kampung' looking man (maybe their first experience flying) . educate them , explain to them politely . they (AA) must remember , they are offering services .. so service well ..

when somebody wearing a smart black shinny leather shoe and clean smart full suit doesn't mean his brain / attitude 'smart' too .
lucky the surabaya airport is small (but still its 2 level building) , can u imagine like KLIA ? and the officer made u to run back to check-in counter to settle it .

if they still stingy abt the cabin luggage weight , they shud put the officer next to the check-in counter .. and like aeiou228 says , by "sigh judgement" if he thinks its too heavy or bulky luggage then stop them then and there .
beside , what u think they will do w the excessive cabin luggage btw ? ... most they'll either make u pay for it or dump it in the cargo luggage (so still on the flight)
a few kilos wont hurt the plane , but an uncivilized act or attitude is a black sheep to the company's good name or country .

just my 2 cent sis .. cheers
*
Well, hope this is no offend to you but I think it clearly states in their website that cabin luggage should be <7kg and of certain size. All airlines have the same rules just that depends on them being strict or not.

They are usually less strict when the flight is half full but when it's 100% full, then it might cause a hazard to everyone just because your stuff is 1-2kg heavier. You'll never know what happen.

Again, those who actually try to sneak in the luggage, they just hide it so the check in officer can't see it, i see that happening all the time. I don't see alot of ppl at the check in counter asking if his/her extra bag is allowed to bring on board or not. Don't you think so?

So i guess passengers should know the T&C before purchasing air tickets.

What error did you get?
So far I've also been using direct debit from Maybank2u to avoid convenience fee and no problem yet. smile.gif

And yea, regarding the cabin luggage. I think passengers should be more responsible with how much you carry as well. There's a reason why they impose this rule and we as passengers shouldn't complain that much since we are not in the airline business and we know nuts about cabin safety. I would say the airline company have all the rights to refuse an overweight cabin luggage.
*
I don't quite remember as it was around the 3rd week of Feb (i remember my sister asking me to help her buy a ticket) and it was a white page with some error code.

When did you last purchase the ticket? It is recently? The last I purchased was end of Feb for a ticket and I was using my credit card to purchase coz still couldn't use direct debit....

All went smoothly without any problems with direct debit.

*
Agreed. After all when u check in, you are already assigned with a seat number. I always board when there is no more queue. Waste my time to wait in the queue for like 20 mins when all the aunties, uncles and whoever wants to bored first.

For flights to Japan/Haneda after the tsunami/earthquake - anyone can share their experience if they manage to get a refund/credit/rescheduled date.
I have a booking for 15th June, so far from my emails they are only allowing those that travel by 15th may to reschedule or get a "credit shell" (how does this credit shell work ? Got expiry ?)
Due to radiation reports I asked for a full refund but was rejected. I had hoped that airasia would be more sensible.... Obviously not.
Anywhere I can complain ?
Thanks.

Hey,

I also bought a ticket to Tokyo for Sept 1 to 8 (purchase date: 26 feb). I called the RM1.95 hotline and they said that they dun have any instructions yet for travels after April.

Those that are supposed to travel in March (after march 11) and April, they can get full refund, change of destination and ?? (the last one not sure coz i didn't bother to hear properly coz obviously my travel date is not in those 2 months). The cust. Service lady said to wait another 2 mths and see if they come out with any instructions.

Since you are travelling in June, maybe you should wait till mid May to check out the condition of Japan (radiation wise) and also call the cust. service.

Oh well..

Yea but only for March (After 11th) and April travel date only. So far for May onwards - no news yet.

Bloody hell, I'm travelling to Korea and I realize they have increased check-in luggage fees to be so expensive! Used to be RM15 for 15kg, then RM20, RM30, now RM 45!!!! What the heck! And for domestic, used to be RM5, then RM10, RM20, now RM25!
*
Then use full commercial airline lor. I bet you'll complain about how expensive their full fare is.

QUOTE(Putraskyline @ Apr 14 2011, 10:10 AM)

Agreed 101%.

7kg mana cukup for travel to Korea? It's excessive la their charges, they will be losing customers soon....nowadays their tickets also much more expensive than last time, can start looking for other airlines.....

Btw putraskyline, you don't happen to be working for AA, are you?  sweat.gif  Just kidding.... tongue.gif

Hey can't I say anything? Is this a communism/dictatorship? And increase of 500% for the luggage fees is not a problem for you? How much more should it increase before people can complain? Or maybe you prefer if you have to pay to use the toilet? In case you haven't noticed, AA flights are now more expensive in general than Jetstar or Tiger. FYI, I'll use full commercial airlines if they keep increasing the extra charges, no need for you to suggest it.

Btw, I don't need AA to travel to Korea, there are lots of other airlines that I can choose to fly....
*
I'm not saying that you can't comment or whatever here. If i am prepared to fly to a country and choose AA to fly with, I wouldn't mind to pay for whatever luggage fees that will be charged. If i feel that it is crazy high, then I'd check another airline to compare and in the event that other airlines will be higher, I would just purchase the air ticket from another airline instead of being frustrated with all the increasing price.

You also want increment in your salary right? So, there you go.

All I'm saying that, if they feel that something is expensive, just don't go for it. Same thing with those ppl earning RM4k and yet they want to buy a BMW or any conti car, and then complaining about their expensive spare parts and servicing fees.

QUOTE(TuX @ Apr 14 2011, 03:16 PM)
Hello,

I just went to the airport to CHANGE my flight DATES/TIMES. However, I wasn't charged a single cent. Anyone know why? I was very prepared to pay, but the attendant kept saying that I don't have to pay anything! My booking is now confirmed on the new date in the system.

Is this normal? If yes, what's the rules and regulations? If it's not normal, WOW! I SAVED A LOT OF MONEY! Please tell me this is a MIRACLE smile.gif

The backpacker backpacks clearly don't fit. To me AAX is reasonable if they see a normal laptop backpack but push your luck and you'll be asked to pay. Simple as that.
*
Agreed. At times it is totally unfair because other passengers with small bags won't have any place to fit their cabin luggage as those backpacks take about 3/4 of each luggage cabin.

If the handcarry is <7KG , then i have to move some to my hand carry. Since you guys said nowadays it is so strict. i am thinking to post it back to Malaysia from Taiwan....

any suggestion guys? i am buying manga, 38 books
*
Posting back to Malaysian would be a good option. You could get it posted via e-parcel (aka registered parcel). It's very safe and at least it's the cheapest way to send it back.

How heavy is your friend's luggage? Maybe you could put some of your stuff in his luggage if it doesn't exceed the purchased luggage weight?

I heard it's like a portable entertainment set if the plane that you fly in does not have any installed at the back of the seat.
