i just realized i entered the wrong state for my address. it should be Kedah but when i check back my itinerary, it is stated at Wilayah Persekutuan KL. will it be a problem when I check in later? because as I know, usually if the name is different, it will be a problem but, what about address?

There's a promotion going on right now. Surprisingly, the website isn't that congested as usual when they're having a promotion. Was only diverted to the red "buzz buzz" page for 2 -3 times. No much problem with the booking.

First of all, you need to check is your fare type is allowed to do a name change. FYI, name change is not allowed for economy promo.

To change the name, both of you and your friend will need to turn up at Air Asia sales counter with ID. I'm not sure with the fees but should be RM 50 or more.

Agreed 100%.

That's why they shouldn't complain and say AA is a lousy airline just because it skidded. Then might as well as them take bus/train to their destination LOL

It's even more dangerous to take a bus nowadays.

I make booking to Haneda for 2 person. Going - check in languan 15kg. Come back check in - both person, each is 15 + 20 kg. However, for coming back is single luggage. Can it be treat as sharing? As both of us will check in together.
*
If I'm not mistaken, you can only do that if you book for the ticket together. Means having the some booking number. If not, they will not allow you to combine. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

about CHECKED-IN luggage, let's say I booked for 20kg allowance. Can I checked in 2 physical luggages (combined weight <= 20kg) or just 1 physical luggages?
*
Combined weight do not exceed 20kg. Doesn't matter 1 or 2 luggage.

airport 1st timer here, wonder what to do at the airport.
after online check-in (boarding tickets are printed) , straight to the luggage drop off > security > wait for plane departure
is that correct?
p/s: can i bring a laptop bag and another bag into the cabin? which means 2 bags
*
So far, I have no problem hand carry two bags into the plane. Sometimes, the ground staff might give you problem but as long as it's not those super big size, it's okay.

Need to check on the check-in luggage.

I've book flights individually for 2 person with 2 booking confirmation number but both flying on the same flight and we will have to online check-in separately (since online check-in only able to check-in 1 booking number at once). When we drop off our baggage at airport, each with 20kg luggage capacity which means 40kg for both, can AA take in ONLY 1 luggage with 40kg for 2 separate bookings on the same flight?
*
They will not allow you to check in only 1 luggage for 2 separate booking number. If you want to combine your luggage weight, it have to be the same booking number.

I wanna ask something. Quite urgent actually since those stupid & bas tard Airaisa customer service people cannot answer it.

I booked a hot seat (1C) but in the travel Itinerary, never stated Xpress Boarding. So meaning I have to queue up with normal seat people?

Usually all the hot seat booking will go first to the plane right? After 10 minutes then only normal seat booking will go.

So how about my case?
*
There's no more Xpress Boarding after they introduced seat selection. You still need to queue like normal even if you purchased a hot seat.

You are so wrong. Hot seat come automatically with Xpress Boarding. Once you purchased hot seat, you queue lane will be separated from normal seat (As in side by side). They will give hot seat a 10 minutes start to walk in the plane first. After that only the normal seat will be released (10 minutes later).

I already called up AA CS yesterday to verify.
Yup, my mistake. Just realized about it this morning when boarding the flight sweat.gif

By the way, just a little information to those who had been asking about hand carry. This is what I observed at LCCT today. It's okay if you're bringing 2 hand carry (1 luggage and 1 handbag/laptop bag/backpack). But, you need to make sure that you're luggage is within the acceptable size of the cabin luggage. They will not ask you to measure the size or weight your bag. But, you have to be smart. Just don't carry a luggage that is too big.

If it's too big, they AirAsia staff will not allow you from passing going into the security check area. I saw one guy carrying a quite a big backpack plus one small bag. The staff doesn't allow him to enter and asked him to check in his luggage at the counter. And he's not the only one. Many people experienced that as well.

These are two different ticket printed out from check-in kiosk. If you have a luggage, proceed to luggage drop-off counter. If not, head straight to security and departure lounge.

At LCCT, there will be a staff who will verify your online or kiosk check-in ticket before you go to the security check. They will stamp your boarding pass after verified it.

Wow, thanks for tips!

From my experience, I used to carry a backpack, those backpackers type, Deuter, 40L version. And it did pass through the security area too. smile.gif

I think they are getting more strict regarding hand carry luggage in LCCT. Before this, there's no AirAsia staff guarding at the security entrance but now they have one. The fees for check-in luggage is quite expensive (for me) and more and more people no longer check in their luggage.

And to pregnant mummy out there: If you're pregnant more than 28 weeks, make sure you have a doctor's letter with you. When I was flying from Labuan yesterday, there's a lady who is 28 weeks and 2 days pregnant was denied from flying because she doesn't have a doctor's letter.

QUOTE
Air travel likely to cost more with rising fuel prices
PETALING JAYA: Air travellers are facing the possibility of paying higher fares as airlines struggle with escalating fuel prices in view of the turmoil in the Arab world.

“Depending on the continuation of the Middle East crisis, we may adjust our all-in fares over the next seven days,” MAS executive vice-president (sales and marketing) Datuk Bernard Francis said.

Hinting that air fares might see an increase very soon, he pointed out that “minor adjustments” to the fuel surcharge had already been implemented two weeks ago.

On Wednesday, CNNMoney reported that US oil prices momentarily hit US$100 a barrel for the first time in two years amid reports that Libyan oil production was shutting down.

The price was at the highest level since 2008.

At a briefing to announce its full results for 2010, MAS managing director and CEO Tengku Datuk Seri Azmil Zahruddin said the airline was monitoring fuel prices and the crisis in the Middle East before determining if there was a need for an increase.

“The possibility of an increase will depend on the direction the crisis takes,” he said.

MAS has been imposing a fuel surcharge on its passengers since 2008.

Many international airlines, including Australia’s Qantas Airways and British Airways, have already increased their fuel surcharge.

The International Herald Tribune reported yesterday that US airlines had raised their fares four times since last month, compared with just three price revisions last year.

Even low-cost carriers in the United States were not spared although they had always tried to beat their rivals in terms of pricing.

Low-budget airline AirAsia, which does not impose a fuel surcharge, has indicated that it might have to introduce the additional charge to cope with escalating fuel prices.

On Thursday, its group CEO Datuk Seri Tony Fernandes said the low-cost carrier would keep tabs on oil price movements.

He conceded that “the introduction of a fuel surcharge cannot be discounted if the current price is sustained or rises further.”

“We will be able to implement a fuel surcharge within 24 hours of the decision should fuel prices climb and stay high,” he was quoted as saying.

During an interview yesterday, AirAsia X chief executive officer Azran Osman-Rani said it was “too early to tell” but confirmed that they were studying the possibility of increasing air fares.

Seems like AirAsia is charging more for passenger service fee. Few weeks ago, I booked tickets for KUL - Bangalore and they only charge RM 18 per person (return trip). Now, when I booked the same ticket again, they are charging RM 36 per person (return trip).

Yes, when I booked for flights to Bangalore, they are charging passenger service fee. I think it only apply to overseas flight as all my domestic flights do not have that fee.

Airasia is encouraging us to check in via online/mobile but was told by friend we still need to queue for check in luggage. What you guys think? Better check in counter or online/mobile...For check in counter better chance for 2 seat together instead of split?
*
Actually, they already auto arrange the seats for you around 24 hours before your flight. If you log in and go to "Manage your booking" page around 24 hours before flying, you can actually know your seat number from there. So, no difference if you check in through counter/kiosk/online/mobile.

You can change the seat through the "Manage your booking" page. This means that you'll need to pay for the seat - RM 6.

Maybe you can try your luck at the check in counter, tell the staff you want to sit together. But, I'm not sure if they will change it for you.

Tried kiosk check in and you can't change your set through that.

I'm not sure about online/mobile check in.
