QUOTE(stimix @ Sep 21 2010, 04:49 PM) If I'm not mistaken, if you do not show up, They will automatic credit bacj the airport tax to your debit/credit/charge card I didn't go on my Aussie trip in March, didn't see anything show up on my credit card. AA happily kept the airport tax (along with the baggage fees, food etc). |

I found some decent seats but mostly local flights. Tried HKG and got some decent fares but the website was way too slow at 3am.

Stuff I learned today, Air Asia's so called "convenience" fee is only for the flight tickets, not for luggage/food. I bought my flight tickets with M2U months ago and added luggage and food recently and was not charged the convenience fee. Cool!

Looks like there are still enough tickets to go around. I found Perth, Melbourne and Gold Coast for around RM500-550 return in November (late spring). Not as cheap as RM0 fare which would be around RM300 all in but decent prices.

QUOTE(stimix @ Nov 16 2010, 09:43 AM) I dun think AAX ever promote any zero fare...Even their promotional opening fare to Korea also RM74 or RM99 inc of tax on way.. Problem is return ticket, the airport tax is so expensive..I think Aussie destination, Aussie Airports charging> RM170 tax per pax? Those China setination also charging expensive airport tax (~RM110) AAX did have RM0 fare but that was in 2009. Got tickets to Gold Coast for RM313 return. Haven't seen anything recently though. |

Damn you Air Asia for sucking money out of me.
Check in #1, 24 hours before flight, party of 5. Auto seat assignment on an almost full plane puts us in groups of 2+3 ten rows apart. There were 3 empty rows at the back, why didn't they put us together? Who knows. Check in #2, almost 1 week before flight, party of 5. Auto seat assigment puts us in groups of 3+1+1 in three separate rows almost all over the plane. The plane was almost empty, only 2-3 rows taken up. Auto seat assignment was intelligent enough to make sure we had to pay RM5 per seat to get our group together. Damn you Air Asia and your hidden charges built into the system, are you going to be as bad as Ryanair? |

RM1677 to Paris in the summer (June) includes 20kg luggage, meal and hotseat (exit or first row).
Cheaper than Qatar/Emirates/Etihad by about RM1k which is not bad. Not sure if I wanna do it yet... |

I decided against it. Too many times to Paris this year already so I can't afford RM7k for travel with the family anymore
Good luck everyone else |

Yeah I tried four times, first was the cheap ones, then it went up a bit. None went through. I'm tired of retyping already. Sorry Air Asia. You don't want my money too bad

QUOTE(missytan @ Dec 3 2010, 11:11 AM) Thanks for the prompt replies...kids are of primary-school going ages, so no problem of crying there CHC arrival depends on when you fly out. Monday and Wednesday flights I think arrive at 1355 the next day but Saturday flights arrive at 2255 Saturday. The only disadvantage is the arrival time in CHC is at 2255...one day wasted ; prefer an early morning arrival.. I've flown Air Asia medium distance with family. The good thing about kids on the flight is that they're smaller so the cramped legroom isn't a big deal for them. What isn't good is that they get bored quickly so make sure they have what they need to be happy. In my case it was the iPad plus a laptop with some cartoons. I didn't want to do too late in the year because it's too far out to plan, was aiming for April flights. Good luck and have fun. |

QUOTE(carlitofreak @ Dec 3 2010, 04:27 PM) Thinking to book a tix to paris. All in tickets for return without bag check in is RM1426. Is it near normal price? I feel like it somehow still cheap. Any opinion? It's still a good price. I would definitely consider RM100 for a 20kg luggage allowance (RM50 each way), you might want to buy stuff in Paris plus 7kg isn't a lot although on the flights that I've been on, nobody weighed my carry on luggage. |

Does anyone actually buy the Air Asia insurance? Have you tried claiming anything eg. for delays etc.?
I've always declined it since my credit card covers lots of stuff. |

QUOTE(limyusiong @ Dec 9 2010, 04:14 PM) 1st time trying Air Asia X, their seat is big n comfort compare to normal airasia? i am 170cm and my wife is 155cm like tat...both also size bout 50kg...hehehe You're a skinny man with a skinny wife. Have you looked at the AAX blog? It talks about AAX hot seats but it'll give you an idea of what the regular seats look like too. http://blog.airasia.com/index.php/hot-seat...n-long-haul-air |

QUOTE(maru @ Jan 10 2011, 10:56 PM) one thing damn stupid bout AA I've done that before, rather than change the date I just bought new tickets. This was one of my trips to Langkawi last year. Since AA's computer system can't seem to connect the dots (or purposely won't) I took advantage of it...example i make payment for A-B on date 1/1/2011 cost rm500 so i want to change the date of flight to 2/2/2011 cost rm500 as well but if u dont amend the date, normal ticket might cost rm400 |

QUOTE(wufei @ Apr 10 2011, 04:39 AM) AA enforce carry on luggage strictly in Christchurch I just flew out of CHC as well. Didn't have much problems, there were a lot of people and I did jump ahead since I was travelling with infants but I thought the AAX people on the ground at CHC were courteous and very professional. I had several questions about optiontown and adding luggage and they were very helpful. They checked hand carry at checkin and only for obviously large bags. Backpacks etc were waved through quickly. The check in is sickening. Long queue. Flight delay somemore. Priority boarding is useless in Christchurch They board the diable follow by those with children under 12 and all passanger by sector of the plain. From the tail of the plane to the head. But got ppl (Malaysian) cut qeuue. Malaysia Boleh!!! Those premium board LAST Again my personal experience, you may have been there on a bad day. |

QUOTE(shiloong7081 @ Apr 14 2011, 05:04 PM) backpacks you say ? What about those big ass backpackers backpacks ? like 45-60l backpacks. Thinking whether should i risk it or not The backpacker backpacks clearly don't fit. To me AAX is reasonable if they see a normal laptop backpack but push your luck and you'll be asked to pay. Simple as that. |
