We are having our 1st Road Trip to Melaka.
FORTEZENS from Central Region, Southern Region, Singapore and elsewhere will converge to Bandaraya Bersejarah, Melaka for a gathering - 1 Day Trip with option of 2D1N, for those interested!

Here's the tentative program as drawn out by our Melaka Host, Benny Cheam Dow Aun:

Here's an outline for the programs:
1) 7.00am Breakfast at meet up point in KL/JB before convoy to Melaka;
2) 10.45am Meet & Greet by Benny at Ayer Keroh Plaza Toll;
3) Convoy to MITC Bowling Centre for Bowling games at 11.00am till 1.00pm;
4) 1.15pm Lunch at Subaidah Restoran then carpark photo taking;
5) Depart at 2.00pm Proceed to town at A Famosa (Not A Famosa Resort). For
those can free n easy tour in that surrounded area like Mahkota Parade,
Dataran Pahlawan, Museums, Duck Tour Ride, Menara Taming Sari Ride,
River Cruise;
6) 5.00pm Those staying 2D1N can proceed to hotel for check-in and to refresh;
7) 6.00pm Convoy to Umbai Jetty Seaside for Dinner, then photo taking at car park;
8) 7.30pm Convoy to Jonker St for Jalan-Jalan;
9) 9.30pm Convoy to Berts Garden Klebang Beach (Halal Food), a very nice atmospheric at nite for drinks
10) Good bye for those 'day trippers' and the '2D1N gang' back to hotel OR continue HH;

Guys, i noticed that the side of windscreen.. is actually sticked with ermm.. sticker. How should i say this.. it is not metal, but a paper sticker. Ok ah like that? can last?

Whoa... K7 V7... but too many random chit chat ler... can we focus more on the car instead?

Most B and C segment cars have uncomfortable rear centre seats, the Forte is not the only guilty one. Want comfortable seats for your passengers? Hehe... go and buy a Carnival.

Sit in the Mazda 3's rear with 2 other mates and you'll be worse off since the 3's rear is very narrow and claustrophobic.

Surprisingly, and unexpectedly, the K5 seems to exclude the rear central headrest as well... not sure why they did that. At least they didn't go down the Passat CC route by totally omitting the rear central seats and putting in useless cupholders.

not sure how much to wrap the side window. I just bought the 3M carbon fiber sticker from on of the Forumer in lowyat about 6 meter long just incase I wanna wrap interior panels. So far I've already wrap the black glossy gear shift gate area with carbon fiber. Looks better

not cheapo type... it seems like those CBU unit from korea windscreen might not design for hot weather country like malaysia and singapore.
just guessing.

Im always confused between titanium silver and metal bronze. They are actually what? Which is darker than each other? is titanium silver goes mpre toward black? and bronze more toward gold or brown or something? http://forte.my gallery really doesnt help much.

maybe trade in the sport rim, kinda dun like the design of the rim

btw, the oem carpet (or wat to call it, car mat?) is not fitted exactly n nicely is it?
the one behind passenger seat/boot n front end of driver/co-driver..

one more thing at the driver side, under the dashboard..the steering-shaft (?) is left open..
i can see it rotate if i steer to the right/left..and some wires are also left open..is it normal?

I read some forumers says that Forte 1.6SX tiada auto-up window function for driver seat.

But my forte has it. In addition, all 4 small lights on the window button could light up too.

TS is lighter/brighter than MB.

TS is technically not the typical dark grey on other cars. It has a slightly golden tinge/gunmetal shade to it especially when viewed under late afternoon/dusk sunlight.

MB is not the typical copper colour either. It's in fact, very similar to the ancient Greek bronze statue colours... greyish brown with a tinge of green.

Easiest way to tell them apart - if it looks dark it's likely to be MB.

Forte only has autodown but not autoup... unless your dealer modified it for you.

Forte, or rather Cerato, comes in 3 specs - S, Si, and SLi.
S is baremetal model like EX, Si is just S with additional safety pack like ESC etc, SLi is equivalent to SX. Of course, there are some very minor differences here and there between Australian models and Msian ones but they are not important.

Price wise, manual S can be available for just under 20K AUD. Full spec SLi automatic is usually around 26-27K, Koup is around 27+KAUD. Don't convert the currency and compare the prices - cars cost different everywhere in the world due to various reasons.

Looks like this WS crack problem happen worldwide.
Pls read this forum,Australia ,Canada owners having this issue as well...
Seems like it's related to bad batch of WS from supplier, KIA may have change to other 3rd party supplier for newer batches of Forte I guess.

if u willing to spent more than 100k and don't mind the overprice, i think focus 2.0 TDCI is fun to drive with good FC due to it's diesel turbo.
yum yum! slyphy for my point of view is too comfort for elderly.. haha
while forte 2.0 of course the best bang of bucks. it gives everything u need and extra for ur daily usage.
smart choice go for forte, fun choice go for focus.. yay~

Spoke to my SA yesteday, latest news for our 2.0 is that NAZA would be only able to 'settle' the issue with Kastam earliest by 15 May 2010. She ask me no to cancel booking because a lot cancel their booking with her alaready. Allocation will be ard week after that. Hope that it is true.

forte ~ hope to test drive the 2.0 , but the only problem i can see is the SC ... the one at puchong(near 101) aint that good
