for the rear mudguard, a normal screw driver is never going to fit the narrow space between the tyre and arch.......unlike the front, where the wheel can be turned away.........how to fix without removing the wheel itself?

Guys & Galls,
Final upate:8/5 10.11am. The awaiting KIA Forte mudflaps finally arrives.Priority goes to name list below. However, i do have extra stock. Call me to confirm if you want to purchase. Pls forward payment RM 86 to my account below, email me your payment details, fullname & forum nickname, shipping address & contact number. I will ship out via Skynet with tracking number.

Things to take note.

4.) Product Description
All 4 pcs inner part have marking (In manderin) for Front, left right etc. It does comes with screw. Use it, as the stock screw will fall short when u slot in the mud flaps. HAPPY DIY & apperciate if someone can come out with
Package received with thanks.

The front fits easily by just turning the wheels, so that was done. the rubber does not fit exactly the curve of the body, but it's okay. The original screws are actually longer than the ones provided with the package, and have built in washer, so use the original screws back, no problem getting it snug.....

the back is going to be more tricky, i will have to figure it out first, how to do it without removing the wheels.....even the short screwdrivers will have a problem, as the screw thread is quite tight, both removing and screwing back..........

the aircon duct insulation, does it really make a difference?.........after all, the cooling action is not actually cold gas flowing from compressor to the cooling fins........but the 'evaporation' of compressed liquid 'freon' (they don't use freon anymore) into gaseous form, which flows back to the reservoir.....ie uses latent heat capacity rather than specific heat capacity.....

if it does make a significant difference, why is it not insulated at the factory?.......

I was on NKVE highway this afternoon on 110km/h auto-cruise. When there was a part with a little slope, the ECU switch my gear box to gear 3 and switch it back to gear 4 again. Crazy man !!
*
that is normal with all auto cruise.......they are designed to keep a constant speed, and have low tolerance of slower, or faster speed........so on an uphill, it will downshift to go back to cruising speed.......AND on downhill, it will sometimes also downshift to SLOW the car down.........

if u have those 'adapter' type of screw drivers, take the bit with phillips head, hold it with a plier to loosen the screw. should be half an hour job or less.
*
it's going to be pretty tough, the screws are quite tight. Is there such a thing as a right angled screwdriver?

After thousand empty promises and fighting almost every day with SA and even with branch manager, finally I have decided to withdraw my booking and asking for refund. I'm so lucky bcoz the branch manager agreed to make full refund to me. Nobody knows exactly when the problem will be solved. Good luck..

wah, you are quite a enterprising person aren't you sugen........ biggrin.gif

the design troubles me a bit........why is there a 'dip' in the visor?........i normally leave the window a bit down when in the hot sun, but that dip will reduce free circulation of air in and out of the car.......

you just have to be savvy and strict when dealing with these dealers and branches.......if they can cheat you, they will.........

did my 1k service today........full syn.......

they tried to sneak in a rm15 'inspection charge'........whatever that means.....when i questioned them, and told them no other cars i have bought before ever charge such things for the free service, they quickly reversed it......

and they said, need to change autotranny fluid next service ie 11k......i challenged them to show me where in the maintenance schedule it says they need to do that.........they cannot........said they will 'check' and get back to me........

in fact, if you look at the manual, their recommended schedules are completely different from what naza/kia recommends..........the manual don't even have any recommendation for atf change, except for heavy usage, where it's at 40k.........

Think think think.. no need in the hurry la bro.. 2.0 and 1.6.. difference so significant meh? If u alwiz travel outstation n need to be fast and furious on the road then u mah get 2.0, else in KL city driving.. alwiz jam only.. unless late at nite u come out show-show then its a different story la.. Government is introducing alot of increment that will burden the rakyat very soon.. if u have the budget then go ahead.. else hold ur horses first.  tongue.gif

there is a significant difference in power between 1.6 and 2.0...........

the main advantage with more power is the acceleration........exactly what you need in stop start traffic jams.........there is a small difference in top speed, which one will normally never reach..........

update on fc.......

after 3 tanks, all 3 pretty consistent results.......average 10.3l/100km........100% city driving.......

compare this with the old 14 year old perdana, which was also consistently at 9.6l/100km, over the same routes and traffic conditions.......

both 2l and weights about the same.........

forte is quite a fuel guzzler.........

odo reading or manual calculation?
have finish 1k service?

fc become good only after 4~5K mileage clocked
what is current reading?
*
manual calculation.......the odo reading actually says 9.6.....

3 tanks means 1.5k already lah.....

there is no significant difference between the 3 tanks.........both in the manual calculation and the computer reading........

Hm.... you sure it's not your right foot? Full city driving is approximately 10L/100km... 10.3 ain't too far off, and it usually will improve slightly with more miles on the clock.
*
it's the same foot that drove the perdana for 14 years........

i have already come to the conclusion that the veer to the left is a generic problem due to an intrinsic design fault, and likely uncorrectable.........so we will have to live with it..........

aligment problem consider manufacturing or design defects/problems? will it be resolve for free under warranty eventually if the cause is confirm. What kia official view on this matter?
*
i would consider that as a design fault, and likely not fully correctable. You can bug naza, have it realigned multiple times, and still will have the problem. if it is not significant, just accept it, as i do now.........
