yesterday after installed BK n shark fin antena..

bro mid..how about the radio signal reception of the shark fin antenna, is it as good as the stock antenna? The shark fin antenna really looks good on our Forte but i'm not willing to accept the poor radio signal reception in the first place.

3.8 but they never give back the remaining..  cry.gif

heard 2.0 need to topup more.. overall 4 L something.. any 2.0 owners can clarify?
*
Dont know exactly how many litres of engine oil needed for the 2.0. But during my first service on April 19th, i also asked for the remaining oil (of course with the bottle) if any. But the service officer there said no remaining oil for the 2.0 Forte. So i assumed that Forte 2.0 uses all 4 litres of the engine oil (no extra engine oil added). & i can confirmed here that the price for my first service (Using Petronas Syntium 3000) was RM227 that time (same price as 1.6 Forte).

The main reason i asked for the bottle with the remaining engine oil is not because of the oil itself, but more on to make sure that they uses that oil. Just in case that the dealer service centre there wanna cheat me by using the cheapo mineral oil but charged me the fully synthetic price. But ended up with nothing to prove it since that there is no remaining oil at all, so no engine oil bottle given back doh.gif .

where u did it bro?
i dunno current price. but standard should be rm227 only (total cost). or is it yours 2.0? heard 2.0 need to topup 1L more.

for further detail can download the pdf file at

http://www.myforteclub.com/forum/10-mainte...st-with-details

both for fully synthetic and mineral got.
*
Bro Taipan,

Could u find the maintenance details specifically for Forte 2.0? It would be really useful for us 2.0 users. The details on your pdf files are for 1.6 Forte only. But i think the details are more or less the same right?

That means very high possibilities price increased for Syntium 3000 & perhaps the oil filter as well..
In the bill clearly stated that Syntium3000 price RM255...walao..ooi
All black & white clearly stated, no way the SC can cheat us right?
*
If the Syntium 3000 price sky rocketed like that, then better use Mobil 1 instead as u suggested before. Hopefully we can bring our own engine oil.

Hmm..black & white can be clearly stated, but who knows what they poured in into our engine unless we can see it with our own eyes...

RM28x.00 for the 1.6 first service??? shocking.gif so expensive mehh. are u sure it does not include other things beside fully syn engine oil + oil filter + gasket-oil plug?

From what I read in previous version of Forte Forum, Puchong near IOI SC might help you.
*
But as Mr. Arul (from Puchong SC near IOI) said, it is better if u can pinpoint where's the source of the sound first. Else, it will be a time consuming process for them to locate the source of the sound & may mistakenly disassemble the unrelated parts in order to fix it.

Regarding air-con insulation thingy, I'm using aircon insulator bought from air-con accessories shop which costs me RM2.50 per pc (about 1m-2m long).
the advantage is with insulation, our compressor doesn't have to run so frequent or work so hard due to reduced in the evaporation effect.
This concept applies to every types of air-con including your air-con at home.
u can see all cooling pipes are insulated or concealed.
*
u used Insulflex right? What size did u used? I'm thinking of doing it also later on. Now make use of the current cooling effect first, so later on can easily spot the difference when doing the aircond pipe insulation.

Insulflex ? How does it look like?
The insulation I used is soft & light material in black color... feel like sponge.
*
Yaa..that should be Insulflex tube. I only need to know the appropriate tubing diameter for our Forte cooling pipe.

The pipe diameter should be 3/4 inch. Just tell the shop 3/4 inch will do.

*
From past experience, if already got chassis number, usually it will take roughly another 2-3 weeks before u can get the car. But maybe the same estimation cannot be used now...

bro... the car delivery nightmare is a never ending story... probably till the day production in gurun starts but nobody has any clue when it's gonna happen so as of now all the troubles r with gamen.

if u r not in a hurry, then wait lo. otherwise no harm for u to explore other options... besides i'm sure u have considered lots of things b4 deciding to buy this car. it's a matter of months to wait for the car that u will drive for years to come. just ask bro izputra and some other 2.0 for their classic stories.
*
Agreed..it is worth the wait. Buying other car also need to wait. Last time when i was about to give up on Forte, i also seeking around for another options like Civic, Sylphy, Lancer only to find out that no ready stock for these cars also. Civic 2.0 have to wait around 2 months, Sylphy also got 1-2 month of waiting. Since all other cars also need to wait to get it, i decided to just stick with Forte. Forte got the best package after all.

p/s : my father bought the new facelifted Vios on early April, but till now (about 1 & a half month), still didn't get his car. So the moral of the story here is NEW CAR=HAVE TO WAIT (of course not applicable for all new cars lerr..) unless u opt for a low demand car i.e. Perdana, i30, avante

Biasalah..for him only T & H in his mind. Their generation grown up with these cars. So they are used to it. For them, only T & H are 'the best'. When i said that i'm going to buy Forte 2.0 last time, he quite skeptical about it & willing to give me some money (for downpayment) to book the Civic 2.0 instead, but i refused. When i balik kampung last April with my Forte, my father took a closer look on my car & he didn't say anything about it. Nothing to comment i guess.. rolleyes.gif

*
It is better if u dont put a sky-rocketed hope on their given date, else u might get disappointed if they cannot fulfill it. Their so-called delivery date cannot be trusted as per what we've faced last time.

As the previous 'waiting drama', both version of the story cannot be trusted one. Until the first 2.0 for the 2nd batch been released, there's no way we can confirm it. Pray hard that the SA version is true then tongue.gif so that u all can get the car in 2 weeks time hopefully.

Haha... I suppose so  tongue.gif (lucky got shade). Only thing is, don't know the battery now how d.... so long din't start the car. You guys that waited long long for your 2.0 got problems with battery? Think I read somewhere got some issues with the battery since long time no start.
*
If i'm not mistaken (from what i've been told before), at the stockyard they will disconnect the battery connection by pulling out the cable from the battery terminal to safeguard the battery power. In that case, the battery will not run out of power easily. Same practice goes to most of the showroom cars if u ever noticed that smile.gif
