Common Kelvin White Balance Settings : 2500K - very strong orange tungsten light 2800K - strong orange tungsten light 3200K - yellowish tungsten light 4500K M6 - flourescent light (most flourescent tubes are green even though our eyes don't see it) 5500K - flash 6500K - daylight (or daylight-balanced flourescent light) 9900K - strong blue stage lighting or evening light
Xenon lighting is rare but that should be between 7000-9000K.
Whenever you enter a new situation that has different WB, just set your Kelvin WB again and test with one shot. You
should be able to do this with practice.
With the Sony A300 and A350, you can use Live View and see the effect of changing Kelvin WB... live!
M = Magenta G = Green 2500K = Blue 9900K = Amber
Take a picture. Supposing the picture is very Green, you need to add the opposite which is Magenta. If the picture is
too Blue you need to go closer to Amber. So if the picture is very blue-green-ish, you will need to go closer to 9900K
M9.
To prevent the built-in flash from appearing in pictures when in wireless flash mode, you can use any of these
methods, or a combination of them:
- use a darker aperture (e.g. F11) - use a lower ISO (e.g. ISO100) - use a shutter speed faster than your flash sync speed so that High Speed Sync is activated (e.g. 1/320th of a
second) - use a piece of exposed, developed negative film in front of your pop-up flash

p.s: taken hand-held and on waist length coz photography is prohibited there. so pardon for the lousy compo and noise. and this 1 taken at Blok M, Jakarta. Shot this blindly coz photography is prohibited here too:

i got the 1680 last month... now am so broke that i have no extra money for A550 ... probably will only get it next year
Yup, Uncle Chin confirmed the price to be RM2750 (still can nego if you are seriously buying) when I was there on Sat....
Darn it.... choices.... do i...
1. Sell off my A300, and top up RM1700 for the A550 body??
or
2. Get the WX1 at RM1200....
get the A550 if you need the better high ISO (3200,6400, 12800!!), or the 7 FPS (machine gun!!), the better screen, the bigger viewfinder or the manual LV check.

Are you looking for new units or old units?
If new, then A230 twin lens or A330 single lens will be nice...
If used, i would recommend A300 + single (or twin) + flash (F42 or F58).... hunt arnd, u shld be able to get all them within 2-2.5 (depends if u get single or twin and which flash)...
Read the Garage Sales, or WTS section in Alphanatics.
after looking through the pricing for the cz and tamron, its double the pricing.. so considering, under budget.. clive.. cepat.. pioson us with the tamron 17-50f2.8.. CZ its too expensive to be poisoned ler..

U mean manual re-calibration following the guide from Dyxum ?? I wanna try mine later..
finally get my sony a200 twin kits + f42 for only 1.6k. but the seller told me that the pic has some kind of dust in pic?its confirm not fungus. may i know where can i service it and how much?
Its not that hard to use, u just need to know the characteristics of the Raynox.
U have to set it to manual focus, then infinity. You need to shift yr body to get clear pic as the magnification with 55200 is really really good and sharp. (need to find where i parked my few macro shots).
Ensure you have enuff lighting (flash gun preferred) as you need as much light as possible thru the Raynox into the sensors. And having a tripod helps a lot with any macro shots.
shoot this while waiting for man utd match...found out the atmosphere i had in mind wasnt really created..but my soccer match already started 1/2 way..hehe..so lazy to shoot again =p
iso200 1/30 F2.8 90mm table lamp(warm) snooted on danbo torch light(cold) snooted on trooper no flash used
fuyoo.. poadster.. im tempted to get ur raynox.. but i keep thinking, the way we try to shoot during the TT, the bug fly di lorr.. i keep shooting myself for not testing the raynox on every lens thaat day, i only tried it on my 75-300.. didnt get to test it on the kitties and the 55-200.. i got distracted by the 50mm..
achew, ur sp90, i notice u use it for portrait as well.. how does it fare? i mean it is 90mm.. there has to be some distance between u and the subject i suppose?

I've loved macro-ing with Raynox and pair-ed it with my lx3. But cjlai's macro is totally different level. This week will get a flash gun (hopefully can find good deal ) and try it with Raynox + 55200. One question : The flash gun is pointed directed to the bug or bounce it?
>< 1680 CZ...woah, heavy poison... btw, any recommendation for nice zoom lense? :3 plan to try panning with it rather than using kitty...
cheap zoom, u can try SAL55200 .. around RM400 2nd hand or around RM680 new... expensive one, u can try either SAL70200G = RM5550 or SAL70300G = RM2550
SAL70200G is a constant f2.8 lens and it's white.. and SAL70300G is not constant aperture.. (f4.5-5.6)
constant 2.8, ....jz the same as canon 70200 L hmm...did tat 16105 can serve as zoom lense as well?cz i check...quite alot good review abt the sharpness n etc...
lanusb: Face Detection adjusts WB, exposure and focus. Yes it tracks faces automatically.
SHOfrE3zE: Welcome back! Sometimes I like how nice blind angles turn out to be.
amadeo: Got RM2650 for the A550 body only at one shop. So you can put RM27xx for any shop lah.
SiLVeRClIdGe: No, the A230/A330/A380 cannot use the VG-B30AM.
Uzumaki NaruTo: Nice hairlight!
Kul | Mo0: The Sony Carl Zeiss Planar T* 85mm F1.4 ZA is the rarest of them ZAs. It's also the only Planar (flat focus field) and yet ironically brighter than the Sony Carl Zeiss Sonnar T* 135mm F1.8 ZA, Sony Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* 16-80mm F3.5-4.5 DT ZA, Sony Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* 16-35mm F2.8 SSM ZA and Sony Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* 24-70mm F2.8 SSM ZA (Sonnar means bright).
e-jump: Aiya, forgot to try! Yes, you need to enhance your colors in the RAW processor as it does not understand Sony Creative Style settings.
If you can make 2 exposures, you can pull out extra color tones from her hair and face.
Hair = bluegreen = mostly blue and green channels. So if you make your WB more reddish (nearer to 9900K) it could look more 3D (but may go in the opposite direction of the art.)
Face = orange = mostly red and green channels. So if you make your WB colder (nearer to 2500K) her lips will be tonally 'further' away from her skin and more distinct.
These 2 exposures can then be merged, using either layer as a layer mask, inverted where necessary. That said the current picture already has a very nice color balance, but if you want more tones out of it, I've just told you what you can do!
weixuan: Love #2!
achew: I would crop it tighter; chop off 1/3rd off the left, and 1/3rd off the right.
hkhk: Some filters can reduce contrast. Also show us some pictures! I find the Zeiss lenses to be contrasty no matter where you go, even in soft ambient low light.
Zeiss 135mm F1.8 1/5s ISO6400
Zeiss 135mm F1.8 1/5s ISO6400 (most of the light is candlelight bounced off walls)

The captions say it all.

the SAL16105 serve me very well....u can check my travel blog for the photo
tjq: It is rare as in, very few people buy it, compared to the Zeiss 16-80mm F3.5-4.5 DT, 135mm F1.8 and 24-70mm F2.8 SSM. Not many people understand 85mm, but it's a great lens on both APS-C and full-frame.
countdracula: Flat focus field meaning when you face a flat surface, all of the surface is evenly in focus.
A lot of lenses have curved focus fields, meaning the focus to the side is slightly shifted. This might annoy some people.
I really having hard time in snaping picture indoor-ly and nighttime, the pics are so blur and when ppl moving, all also blur, how to solve this issue ya? I using A100 with stock lens and stock flash

get a flash..it makes lotsa diff....bright lenses help alot too..altho not as much as flash..
yeah.. using external flashgun will improve ur picture indore a looooooooooooooooooooooot more than on-camera flash.. it can bring wonders to ur pics.. with external flash u can bounce left, right, up, back .. use diffusers and wireless flash summore..

im using the sony quick rechargable, uncle chin recommended me that.. last me around 450 - 500 shots?
I only use alkaline batteries for backup power only coz it cannot last long... recycle time also very slow for continous shoot... u got to use rechargeable batteries with high mAh rating and from reputable brand.. currently i'm using Maha PowerEx 2700mAh NiMH Rechargeable AA Batteries.. can tahan a lot.. using flash for the whole day wedding shoot also still not finish..

using maha imedion, one charge can last me about 600++ shot on F58, also it's firepower dependent, if u shoot at high ceiling, maybe it last till 500++, if fire at 1/16 most of the time, it last up to 800 shots
sony sanyo..blablabla..all same..coz all OEM from sanyo...lol...so basically inside is the same..only labeling diff..
Wah like tat wan ar? Doesnt matter la....as long as rechrg batts....the ting is i got few other thing in my 'list' rdy....so adding this, haiaaahhhhhhh......already burn a big hole in the pocket afta getting lens and flash....
i think i bought it pretty cheap in singapore...30~40sgd...4batt + charger + from freebies + delivery...not sure the price in msia tho... but batt..aiya..ok la..it just cost roughly like ur uv filter...lol..compare to those 1k~6k lenses...whats the big deal

i been looking for the powertoys resizer for window vista for many months, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! now i easy resize and upload
Just recently i really go into detail n check how my flashgun actually works n how to control it...(i seldom played with it cause if outside, too much flashing could irritates ppl especially in cafe etc)
.. I want to ask...If im to use Wireless Flash... I hv my pop up flash on.. Sync with my F42... then Okey it fires... I can control the Power of the F42 manually.. but is there a way to control the power of my Pop up Flash. I always find the pop up flash is annoying powerful. I used to think the Flash compesation in d camera controls the power of pop up flash, but i'll hv to manually adjust my F42 power for it to do so...If let the Flash/camera to decide the F42 power.. i'll hv no control over the pop up flash...is getting a bit confusing here.. er.. get wat i mean? mayb there r still many things i dont understand...

You could get a pop up flash diffuser . Or set the flash power lower in menu, try search for it. For me I'd go for diffuser. Just gotten my Lambency, the amber(orange) dome is so bad and awkward when used. It doesn't warm up the picture instead adding orange color to it. I should get Demb Flash Diffuser when I got enough money...
Is 50mm 1.8 SAM ideal for portrait? Going to get it soon..

I think the 50mm is a nice potrait lens. Some prefer 85mm or above. Is the Lambency diffuser really that bad? I was about to get one myself but cant find the one tat fit my F42 yet. They say is best to shoot potrait oh.. Demb flash diffuser look like how?

To prevent the built-in flash from appearing in pictures when in wireless flash mode, you can use any of these
methods, or a combination of them:
- use a darker aperture (e.g. F11) - use a lower ISO (e.g. ISO100) - use a shutter speed faster than your flash sync speed so that High Speed Sync is activated (e.g. 1/320th of a
second) - use a piece of exposed, developed negative film in front of your pop-up flash
But then I do wan to have environment ambience light & lower Iso/ darker aperture will make these go away... creating black background... If shooting on a studio setting that rely on 1-2 flashgun then the power of pop up flash will surely gone. So there is no direct way to control the pop up flash right? hv to use negative film /popup flash diffuser..

May be I haven't discover the potential of it yet The size of it is really big . Haha, might get it soon. Octopus Pop up flash diffuser<<try this one(good thing is it support alpha flash hot shoe). The normal method I used is using my hand to block the flash. Suddenly I'm so excited about flash photography. I thought Lambency which fit 430EX should fit F42 as well? Some one clarify this...

see who says kitlens sucks...hmm i have one i wanna post up too.. .kitlens at a function that me and my buddy was paid to cover... oh yea..for those who wanna make their lives easier in windows VISTA...google PRISH RESIZER... ....just sharing stuff ive picked up... pss...for the photo with the fire...it seemed weird at first but the camera actually picked up .... AIR....the heated air flow around the fire distorts light...funky...plus i didnt have much equipment to work with..just a built in flash...(wish i had a f42 then.. )
note to people using prish resizer, it is good.. can resize in an instant to upload on fb or twitter.. BUT it lowers down the pics quality sooooooooo much, that it looks like a cheepo cam shot.. <- at least thats what i get lar.. not sharp any more laar.. uploading pics on flickr with that quality also paiseh.. lol.. i keep thinking my kitties suck.. but its actually, the details are abit gone..
So in conclusion to me lar, (you guys can have some input in as well ..) uploading pics on fb, u want a quick resize, can useee.. but if u wanna keep ur details, ur better off doing it manually..

lildaredevil : yes..i noticed that about the prish resizer..but its great for uploading to forums.....and the low quality is an added bonus coz then people who love to SAPU other pplz work of the net cant get proper photos.......because even if u watermark..most ppl watermark at the lower regions or extermities which can be cropped....so ..ahaks...
also it depends on your original JPEG which u compress.. my original for the photo was 5.7 mb....which was a jpeg converted from RAW...so in my opinion...the noise level increased slightly but the rest is fine..

Thats wat i usually did. block it off with my hand... but is so inconvenient especially without assistant.. i hv one hand holding my camera another hand holding the F42 from the side.. then no hand to block the pop up flash..look like i need Flash stand... (got such thing tat can hold sony flash?)

u can set the quality to 100% (less compression).... but i usually use 85% where it has less noticeable compression noise... but still noticable if u are pixel peeper, but trust me, a good photographer will critic/comment on ur composition, not ur compression result.
*edit: wahhh, i fell in love with prish resizer, isnt he the same author as the powertoys resizer?

yea...hehhee..glad u like it...its SUPER convenient! hahahahah ...i dont know about the author...i got this program like 5-6 months back when i upgraded from xp...dem frus coz vista din hv power tools...
most ppl will know that photos uploaded to internet will have additional noise wan...but a good photo is a good photo
So there is no direct way to control the pop up flash right? hv to use negative film /popup flash diffuser..
Go to Menu, u can set the Flash Compensation to -2. This will lower the power of the pop up yet can still trigger the wireless.
To lower the power more, get the pop up diffuser. It works very well on the pop up flash, for times where yr flash is batt dead....

The 430EX size does not fit the F42 very snugly, there are much loose space for it to fit nicely. I have tried both stofen and lambency type. Ended up buying the cloth with internal reflected type from Uncle Chin - Studio Zaloon.

Just got a sony a200 last few weeks. New user here. Pls enlighten me on taking photos.
Im having difficulty taking night shots, could someone enlighten me here. What aperture and shutter speed?
i would say, ALL camera under rm6k, would have trouble shooting night shots... (except A550! revolution! rm2999 only, come come upgrade~ spread the poison~ okay kidding), your best shot is to grab a flashgun. once u get a flash gun, whatever lens u going to own, purchase or free gift, will benefit from the flash
apperture, u always need as wide as possible, F1.4 is the widest in sony market. SS determine the motion blur of subject, the faster the better, but u need it to balance out the exposure, ur last option is to pump up iso to 3200 or higher...
but if u started to add layers, the default save as is .PSD, so when i select jpeg option, they disable the copy tickbox >.<
I think i know wat you mean.. In Cs3.. when u hv layers.. but u choose to save in Jpeg.. it will automatically add the COPY behind the title to prevent overwrite ur original file.. So the Cs4 actually doesnt work like that???

oh..ier.......photoshop cant save jpeg as a copy when there is layers....ull have to merge the layers then save then ctrl z .....
apuuuu, i own a slow pc la... die la like that, then i better downgrade to cs2 balik... cs4 already so lagging with the so much simulation effects... sigh... but cs4 engine now is soo much powerful and accurate... i think the only way is to manual type in _copy everytime lor.. >.<
cs3 crashes often on me, so i use back cs2 last time, never think of upgrading to cs4, because they say the interface is like cs3 (which i dont like at all) but now, due to the photomerge and HDR function on cs4 is farrrrrr superior then cs2, no choice to use it, also i need the camera raw convertor, but i realise, sony original one is better, as they give more proper color output when export to jpge then adobe raw...
This post has been edited by ieR: Oct 29 2009, 01:28 AM
yea..probably..ahahha....im running cs4 too...a lot smoother than cs2....definitely....but some things are new.....
i upgraded coz photoshop got this annoying thing when u try to add text to a photo...sometimes it just WONT.... finnaly overcame that problem ... hahaha
oh yea..im running a gtx260 with 4g ram and quad core processing also the photoshop lag when rendering blur and reducing noise...
Thats wat i usually did. block it off with my hand... but is so inconvenient especially without assistant.. i hv one hand holding my camera another hand holding the F42 from the side.. then no hand to block the pop up flash..look like i need Flash stand... Just put the flash foot on. Then u can mount the flash on a normal camera tripod. Look under the flash foot, the screw mount fits tripod 1.

well..i never really try to render anything that big...i did tried to create some gif for games..but at most 200-300mb only...no issue...no chance to try anything larger than 500mb..
and how do we make the new open document to be floated window? why is it always maximised, hate it like that... dont waste ur money, save it enough, go straight to F58... u get F20 also 1 month later u wan to upgrade again.
for the marco, u still need flash to shoot it properly, so flash first.
Ahaks straight to F58 eh any other noticeable feature than the whole body can be tilted? Hehe suddenly poisoned by your statement
Any users of the Sony Alpha LCS-AMLC3 Leather case ? Any comments ?
jika u upgrade items.. lens, flash etc etc.. the leather case willl collect dust.. cause if your like me, i tend to chuck everything in one bigbag (im carrying L size bagman) then carry the whole load out.. I previously wanted to get the leather case.. looks so nice.. but come to think of it.. when i go out, i need my flash.. cannot fit lar.. samore im carrying another additional zoom lens..
if ur going on 1 lens all the way no flash.. then should be ok lar.. if u like to lug ur gear around, then no point..

F58 is good when shooting in portrait (camera vertical) mode too. because the flash head will be closer to be camera...without that feature the flash head is actually slightly left/right when shooting in portrait mode causing the flash to be seen coming from left/right side. if u get what i mean

not forgeting F58 was the only flash that can even bend -ve 15 degree to shot marco!~~~~~ (saying 0degree is straight front) and with such precise TTL control, ur marco also wont become overexpose~~ F58 i think has the smartest WB exposure AI~
used to play with canon 580exII, erm it tend to rely on the canon's iso a lot, so the flash i not sure is really not so powerful or the iso is the one compasate it lack of exposure~ summore it cannot withstand the weight of the garyfong bowl thingie, coz the lock is at 90degre or 0 degree, so u garyfong it at 75degree, it will fall down...
*edit: garyfong = lambency diffuser

I've decided to buy a sunpak pz42x...or r there any other suggestion?im in a tight budget though..huhu
you may think u are in tight budget for a flash, but how long did u save up to able to afford this flash? why not save a little more and get a proper Sony flash? trust everyone here when we all (will) say, get a sony flash, and u wont regret. especially when they come to power, bounce, build in zoom motor, and precise TTL
jangan because u needed flash badly u to rush to purchase a flash, that u made a wrong choice
(or was it u are using a nikon? because the photo shows a nikon.)
just wondering either to get a 50mm f1.8 or F42 flash first.. Any suggestion?
i hold a slightly diff opinion from the rest...i think its all depend on ur style n need..did u feel u need flash badly??like shooting in dark rooms..or bright sunlight behind ur model..blablabla...or u r a bokeh sucker like me..cant live without bokeh in ur shots..?i think u know ur needs better than any of us...in either way...u going to get both..so its just a matter of time.....haha..
just wondering either to get a 50mm f1.8 or F42 flash first.. Any suggestion?
get a flash bro,
i never regret my decision to have a flash first since i know what disappoint me most when using pns camera while taking picture indoor especially during party or event.
while in pns, when i switch to indoor mode if my hand got a bit goyang, the pic will becomre blurry very bad. swith to auto mode, then the subject will be clear but the background will be very bad.play with iso in pns for me is still not a satisfying method for me.
bought a dslr a while ago + flash, and hola! no more worries! all pics come out awesome even in auto mode with my f42. now im learning the technique of ss,aperture and the rest.
SAL1118, wow! im thinking to get either 50mm or 1118 first but 1118 really look marvellous! might get one too soon.
My suggestion .. If u travel a lot n love to take landscape pic - then go for SAL1118 If u love potrait or product shot or doing wedding assign - then better go for 50mm
flash ftw!! the bounce light pictures really looks nice.. better then direct stock flash if u ask me..
50mm later can get lar..
but as achew said.. if your a bokeh freak, then u need the 50mm.. im more to bokeh but you still need flash if your planning to shoot people at night..

if u are planing for wedding/product even portrait, reconsider for tammy 1750 F2.8, for 1.5k,
although some will say the 1.4/1.8 is very much different with F2.8, my experince with 50F1.4, wedding assignment, i dont use 1.4, as the bokeh is too much, usually i will use F2.0-2.8, as for product, i uses from F2.8-F8 depending, F1.4 dof is too shallow when going close up. tammy has wide angle so u may shoot group photo too. they create diff perspective on close up for portrait, wedding or products (oh dear, tammy the next poison?) but, many claim that 50mm prime has very very high IQ(sharpness) then tammy and i agree (tammy iq is better then kitlens), but with all the photo that we going to resize to 800px (or 1024px) to upload or develop out (only req 2mp quality)... our >10mp pic wont matter anyway.
as for the flash issue, do u often shoot at night? or mostly daylight? i) if daylight/outdoor, and sucker for bokeh, tammy or 50mm way to go... if on perform so so indoor, unless u have A550/700/850/900 for it's marvelous iso800-3200. A380 and below, thier iso800 are just not really brings out the sharpness of 50mm ii) but if u are night shooter/lowlight/indoor...you MUST get flash first, always flash, not because of WL or bounce or marco etc, but because, once u get it, any lens u purchase later, the lenses will benefit from it.
my 2 cent of experince
so, depend on ur shooting style if u right, buy all 3, 50mm, tammy, F58

hehe achew same gang with me. Gila bokeh gang. achew go buy the 35mm G maaaaaaaaaaaaaaan. Maaaaaaaaaanyak sui itu lens on A850.
btw can anyone please help enlighten me whats wrong with the pic? i got the feeling that the it was overexposed and the background quite dark. play thru the exposure -+g. i direct the flash to bounce off the ceiling.
shutter speed 1/60, f 4.0, spot metering. iso 100, +0.3 EV.

spot metering can be tricky.. use center weighted, local metering (choose ur local point focus), ISO200, raise ur F42 90degrees.. try this,

first, i think u activated vivid color, thus the red is very deep red (not excately overexpose)
as for the flash, open up the white card (diffuser) to push a little light into the front) as for the background, well, learn the bouncing ball technique, at which angle the light goes up the ceiling, at what angle it comes down... the light is almost impossible to brighten up the whole room (unless u have high ceiling), maybe u can try the buildin wideangle diffuser plate... or, boost ur iso to 400 to able to absord the background light(dont worry bout the flash, it will auto adjust not to overexpose)
*edit: oh, MechaHerc was right, i didnt notice u wrote spot metering, use the multi metering or centre.

i guess he shoot in bar, the bottle is basically transparent , so the shot could be able to capture the bokeh light. my thought only

anyway... thinking of getting the A550 + 1680CZ bundle...
Congra Congra to plan for A550, very good camera as i see alpharians feedbacks, powered by Exmor with CZ, that will cost a boom, why not go for STF unique lens by minolta

the a550 + CZ bundle is sooo tempting la... ( ~rm4700) if buy separate a550 body rm2700 + CZ 1680 rm2500 .... meaning save rm500 la haiyya
STF maybe later on la... I need a walk about lense... and the 1680 range is so ideal for the purpose... CZ summore ...

hi sifus, any comment on the minolta 28-75 f2.8 and the tamron 70-210 SP LD f2.8 (yup, 70-210, not 70-200) having someone going to the US, so hope to find some bargain old but gold lense in addition, can the minolta flash be used on alpha, cos if can find cheap (again) might want to try

Yeah.... there are very little diff to A300 and A350, in fact the higher resolution of the A350 does produce more noise than the A300.
Moreover, u can get a F42 flash with the balance left over from the RM1300....

Another thing i wish to try is doing a TIMELAPSE video.. shooting 1 photo every 10-20 seconds.. for an hour during evening.. n combine them to video ..But will hv to get a exterior timer device bcause A700 don hv build in timelapse function..

Spam image... well not as geng as clivengu's.... just a shot i did yesterday for a piano school for their 'piano circle', like a small performance.
also, to show the power of tamron 17-50 F2.8, somewhen in the middle of the shooting, the batt of my flash went out, didnt expect it to run out so fast, went reach home only knew i brought the wrong sets ... but still alright when some i shot with iso1600
*edit: the color are warm because of the lighting in the room was 3 holegen tungsten little spotlight on the grand piano, and they prefer the color as it, so i used color gel to fire soft warm color. forgive me for the White Balance issue as it's client's request.

Dude, get the minimum F42, which has a guide number of... 42 (dont u love the way Sony names their flash. This means at ISO100 and F4 and the flash at 0 degrees, the flash can reach 42/4 = 10mtrs.... (i think thats how the instructors calculated it)....
The F20 will only reach (20/4) 5 mtrs, which may not be strong or powerful enuff to reach or illuminate the entire room.
Decide if this is worth the RM200 savings.... by the same method, the F58 has the longest reach and as its the latest flash in the Sony's family, it has the latest technology and is worth every sen...
(Sifus, pls correct my maths above if i screw it up... but i hope MIKE gets the idea)
The eternal question of noobies.... flash or lens? I would strongly suggest FLASH, as someone has said it... no light = no pictures, irregardless what lens u have....

one month save rm100 from your allowance is not that hard..., if u are student, u can always grab a work from the student council, they have part time arrangement for oversea student and some locals if you are interested. prob can get urself a salary of rm200 for parttime... that only like 2-3 month saving or 1 semester. why so hard? i am also once a student i spend almost rm500 each semester on computer parts upgrades, that is where my money comes from...
