ok here some example of what  d Tamron 1750 F2.8 can do at F2.8...to show bokeh of course best to hv lighting behind n some distance tongue.gif All photo should be shot at Iso 1250 , F2.8, Shutterspeed varies.

Don bother checking my exif.. i just realise bcause im using the same psd file to do all my watermark.. therefore the picture info is oredi gone... Pls dont save the picture too or criticize d girl.. later my friend angry  laugh.gif (din get permission from her to post  whistling.gif)

wanna ask all sifus here...how to achieve the star shape or "X" shape lens flare when shooting directly into the sun??is it by using the smallest aperture possible?i've tried that but it gaves me nothing but a still pic of bright light...

ReasonsofThanatos : You are trying to shoot the sun to make star rays??!! I am afraid the sun is much too powerful to be able to achieve that.

Streetlights and other light sources are fine but the sun is way out of league. Even if you can achieve that with the sun, the other areas of the pic will be pitch black and show no details so no point also.

BUT if you are trying to get flare effect with the sun, then shooting directly at it will not get you the desired result. t's hard to get it but you must put the light source (the sun in this case) at an angle coming in from the sides or corners. To improve you chances of flare, don't use the lens hood.

Flare is the result of the light coming in and reflecting inside the lens barrel.

I think I have a recent pic here that shows a bit of the flare:

The orange thingy on the lower left corner of the pic is the result of flare from the sun - which in this case is outside the frame coming in from the top right corner. It's not easy to get a 4 sided flare and I must say I have never be able to get that kind of flare effects.
*
so thr's no way to get that effect from the direct shooting at sun...too bad.. sad.gif
and thanks a lot for the info of lens flare effect ^^, will try to play around with better lookin scenery next time.. thumbup.gif

All u need to do is compose it so that the sun is just peaking out a weeeee bit from the top of a building or sumthin with small paerture n u'll get the star look.
*
ok...thanks for d tips!!but think im not gonna get any shots like that lately coz it keeps raining in dusk..><..

how much the cost for a longer  zoom lens from Sony ?  icon_question.gif

it's a great camera for starter. im using this as well. despite certain lack of good features from its predecessor A200 it's still a very capable dslr like soulfly said. smile.gif im happy with it so far, but you might wanna get a better lens... biggrin.gif

speaking of which...where can i get a 5MDH??i've looked for Crumpler KLCC but only 7MDH available thr...not to my liking... sad.gif so any idea i can get a brand new 1 or used?
