used 50mm f1.8 for the last shot. the lights were reflected from the venue spot lights as jimlim007 pointed out.

wanna ask some bro's here

is it worth to sell/replace my Tamron 17-50 f2.8

for SAL 16-105?
*
New price and sceondhand price for both of them are almost similiar.
It comes down to larger aperture versus longer focal length.

2 question before you decide:

1. What is it about the Tamron you feel is inadequate?
2. Can SAL16-105 overcome those reasons?

eerrr...... y they need both??

When u take a photo, it basically takes everything in RAW format. If we select JPEG output, then the camera will do the processing inside the camera itself. That's when all the DRO, creative style are being applied to your pics. The review image u see in your camera LCD screen is that final product.

When you shoot in RAW, none of the DRO or creative style are being applied. The output is raw lor... unprocessed.

Why JPEG? You save time in doing post processing, what you see is what you get. Also, the file size is smaller
Why RAW? Beacuse you have more flexibility in post processing. Problems like under expose, over expose etc is easier to salvage from a RAW file than from a JPEG.

Why take both? So you can compare. If the JPEG output is what u want, great. If you screw up somewhere and need to rescue the pic, then u have the RAW as backup.

Downside: U gonna need a lot of card space

I've learn dat, take pict as raw is better. but when i use raw to take pict, i cant altered it in photoshop? so, y it is good to take RAW?
*
I think u need Adobe Camera Raw plug-in for Photoshop to open RAW file. That's how mine works. You can download the plug-in from Adobe website. Or just install Lightroom. I usually use Lightroom to process my RAW file becuase i like it's layout and workflow.

Even if u don't have both software, the Sony Imaga data converter that came with our camera is capable for processing RAW file.

3 softbox were used. One on top of her head, one behind her to light the hair and one at bottom front to light her face.

Verdict : Excellent noise removal, minor lost of details, great for 8R prints. Best part, it is Automated. smile.gif

www.dxo.com offering latest v6.0 at 30% discount. Usual USD299, now USD199.

Does it render Alpha RAW accurately?
Coz i'm using Lightroom and it does a poor job rendering Alpha RAW

If you guys want to buy lens, better get them at the shops outside rather than sony style. Even with 15% off, most of the price will still be higher than the street prices you can find outside.
*
that's true. even with the Maybank 20% off promo which they did back in Aug, the nett price is actually same with normal dealer selling price. but then again you don't get charged extra if paying with credit card in sony style.

i think A550 LCD definitely shows the image much more Vivid.
Last sunday, few of us were shooting food. Mine is A700 and my friend is A550.

We shoot a slice of salmon, my A700 LCD shows very close colour to the real thing, A550 shows the salmon as very reddish.
We tried to change whatever creative settings in the cam but it still is like that. hmm.gif hmm.gif
