QUOTE(shootkk @ Nov 3 2009, 09:32 AM)
DolphinDiver : Full Frame models are A850 upwards for Sony. FF sensors are bigger than APS-C thus giving you a wider view.

The difference is that in FF you have no crop factor. Meaning your lenses' focal length are what is stated on the lens. 50mm means 50mm whereas in APS-C (A2xx, A3xx, A5xx, A700) there is a 1.5x crop factor so a 50mm lens will give you a view of 75mm (50mm x 1.5).

That's why a 50mm lens will look tight on the APS-C while the same lens can be used for small groups on a FF cam. The drawback is that telephoto lenses will lose some 'telephoto' range on a FF. On an APS-C a 200mm lens will give you a 300mm view.
*
Dont forget, FF have shallower DOF (Depth of Field), if u are used shooting at F4 on APS-C camera, u need at least F5.6 on the FF to mantain the DOF.

All Alpha users, feel free to email your suggestions and constructive comments regarding Alpha cameras to this below email,

yoshioka-runs@jp.sony.com

He is Yoshioka Hiroshi, the President of Sony Consumer Products & Devices Group (World Wide)

Check out his blog at http://www.infogate.sony.co.jp/y_runs_en/index
(not sure if you guys can access it)

for A900/A850 users.. please request for Firmware upgrade for noise improvement... let him realised the demand for it (almost a year now),.. and also to kill of Memory Stick from the high end range cameras... coz its slow and expensive... dual CF more beneficial...

please voice out.. this is your chance, Sony opened up this channel, make use of it guys... I'm sure he will reply if your comments are in constructive manner...

News from Sony regarding Alpha.

"Operations relating to Sony's "α" digital SLR business, which have been located at Sony's Shin-Osaka Business Center in Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture, will move to Sony's Shinagawa Technology Center (Minato -ku, Tokyo). This move is scheduled to be completed by the end of March 2010. It is designed to maximize synergies with other digital imaging business groups (including video cameras and digital still cameras) in areas such as technological and product development, with the aim of further reinforcing Sony's "α" business and optimizing operations across Sony's digital imaging business."

I smell HD video capable Alphas coming up...
