Guys, it's been a while since we had a proper TT (last PROPER TT that we had was Mega TT V5.0 on the 14th May 2011 at Kayu Nasi Kandar, Aman Suria.), so I thought it might be a good idea to organize another TT on the 16th of September. It's a Friday and a public holiday, shouldn't be much of a problem for members to attend if they really want to and have the heart to do so.
What I meant by a proper TT? To be honest, we've had dozens of TTs and mini TTs, but new members rarely show up. It's as if their existence is purely fictional and they live only in the thread. The aim of this TT is to meet new members, share more knowledge about our dear Personas and have fun. Do not be intimidated by the use of English in this thread as we're a multi-racial community that speaks all sorts of language & dialects during TTs. (English, Malay, Cantonese, Hokkien, Mandarin, you name it.. I can speak Russian as well if you want me to. )
What are we going to do during the TT? Well the plan is actually to meet up at the parking lot by 8PM, and then we'll drive and bring our TT to Genting Highlands. Expecting around 10+ members to join this TT, but if it's less than that it's fine also.

New members are welcomed with open arms.. Awesome.. Now got 15 members ady.. Finally for the first TT we meet quota.. haha..
I have some suggestions to make here.. Since this TT is gonna be quite big this time.. I don't quite want it to be a sosej-fest just like how the previous TTs used to be. And since our only female member (phythia79) is no longer active (how sad), this never-ending chain of gay parade will never ever cease to exist.
The point that I'm trying to illustrate here is.. Bring ur chicks along!! try to bring ur gfs or friends along if possible.. This TT is open to all, & of course.. The more the merrier.. What do u guys think about this? Feedbacks pls
TO ALL FELLOW PPLYNC MEMBERS WHO ARE DRIVING PERSONA ELEGANCE:
If you have ever experienced sounds (tak tak tak tak tak) coming from your engine during cold start in the morning, then it MAY BE one of the infamous Proton's manufacturing defect: the IAFM problem. IAFM noise is most noticeable during cold start, and you may hear the frequency of the noise going up or down depending on the RPM that the engine is running at. The noise is identical to a diesel truck or lorry's engine idling noise. Once the engine has warmed up, the noise will become softer or totally eliminated. This is because the plastic components on one of the valves on IAFM expands with heat. Below is a video of a member's car with IAFM problem.
So far the problems that may be associated with IAFM noise are nothing major, but in certain cases it may cause severe throttle lag, and the noise may get louder over time. Some owners have even experienced increase in fuel consumption and bad engine response.
If you visit the service centre and the mechanic or service attendant tells you that the noise is not caused by IAFM as our Persona Elegance comes with new batch of IAFM modules, DO NOT believe what they said.
You may: 1.) Ask them to diagnose and tell you what exactly is the problem since they insisted that it's not IAFM module noise. 2.) If the mechanics at CoSE tell you that the noise is not caused by IAFM, go to a few different SCs, have them to check your IAFM module for imperfections on the valve, then get them to write a report each. Compile these reports & bring it to CoSE's customer service and file a complaint, give it to their higher authority.
Now, do remember that they may not be able to figure the noise out if you send your car to SC as the engine has already warmed up. Park your car and leave it there for an hour or so for the engine to cool down, then get the service attendant or mechanic to listen to the noise as you start the engine.
Again, I would like to stress on this main point as I've experienced this myself and wasted almost a month plus before sending it to a different SC just to have the noise diagnosed as IAFM problem; If the guys at CoSE tells you that it's not IAFM problem but your guts and 13 other SCs tell u that it is, then it IS IAFM problem. In my case they never even bothered to check as the engine has already warmed up and the sound was gone by the time the mechanic laid his hands on my car.
This serves as an important announcement to all Persona Elegance (PE) owners as to not overlook this small issue that may lead to greater problems in the future. The price of IAFM modules has dropped since year 2009 (from RM 1200+ in late 2008 to RM 2xx in 2011) because of the frequency of Campro IAFM engines having this problem. Still, it's our right to claim the IAFM modules as they are covered under warranty and malfunctioned units are manufacturing defects. We should not wait till the warranty period is over and then pay them RM300+ including labour to fix a defect that is there from day 1 of ownership of the car itself.
I hope all the Persona Elegance owners out there take note of this issue and do not keep an eye closed.

after finish service, the same machenic fat guy, take my car for test drive, again nvr slow down, becoz the floor is slightly senget, this time my front bumper hit the floor, he jus buat tak tau n drive one round. his work ethic reli bad.
when service, before the oil finish dripping he ald close the nut, then i told him to remove n let it drip for few more minutes.
pls avoid this SC at all cost. wat can i get from them as compensation arr?

Pls add my customer review for Senaxis. I have already complain to i-care but i tink thr is no action to be taken from them as i had to call thm numerous times to gt a reply from them. So i tink it is better to let all our proud PE owner to know n avoid the place at ALL cost as it would bring them a lot of heartache whn their new PE is serviced by great 'professional' at that place.
The issues that i had to face until i change a diff place.
a. On the first day of obtaining the car from Atiara, there was an issue with the left hand side door window. Water was able to leak in from contact point between the rubber and window. It seems that the run channel rubber is faulty. The item was not changed, what the service center personnel did was just to apply a whitish liquid to recondition the rubber and put it back in place. After going back there for more than 3times and complaining on the same problem only were they satisfied to replace the run channel rubber for me. In addition to all this, I was charged RM3.50 for processing fee. So much inconvenience caused and I am still charged a processing fee? What kind of service is this?
b. After 2 to 3 weeks of driving, I found that there was a knocking sound coming from my front right hand side. The knocking sound only appears when cornering on uneven ground. It was very prominent when driving up and down of Carrefour multi level parking. I complaint at Senaxis about this issue. They tried a few times to identify the problem but was not able to detect it. Therefore, I did some checking of my own. I found out from the internet and some friends that there was some issue with the previous design of the power steering fluid delivery unit. When i inform Senaxis about this, the answer from them was that my unit was the latest design and the issue was not from there. In addition, the mechanic there was telling me that this was the infamous Carrefour sound and there was no remedies for it at the moment even after I highlighted that it was from the power steering fluid delivery unit. Finally, i got it fixed when I send my car to CoSE. There was no questions asked and the power steering fluid delivery unit was changed as it was a known issue (when I asked the person attending to my car)
c. After 2 months of driving, I was faced with another issue. There was a high pitch screeching sound coming from the fan belt auto tensioner. After sending it to Senaxis, the mechanic informed me that it was normal for the sound to appear and that we (the drivers) are to concern as we do not know that this sound has no effect on the car what-so-ever and that we are just paranoid as the car is still new. The mechanics there just took out the unit and sand paper the part and told me that it is very dirty due to high silicone compound in the belt. After that, they told me that the issue has been resolved. Upon reaching home from the service center, the sound returned again. I went back there again (27th May 2011) after approximately a week plus. They did the same thing again. (Sand paper the part). The sound was still there after the unit was placed back with an addition of a knocking sound. They told me to return again another day to service the unit. I was forced to return to them again. This was on 31st May 2011. What they did was the same thing again – sand paper the part to “clean the dust”. When asked why isn’t the unit replace as it has been time and time again having the same issue, they informed me that it was not under proton to replace the part. The car is brand new, less than 9000km. The 3rd service has not been done yet. Why is it not faulty if it is having the similar issue even after it has been serviced? In addition, the mechanic told me that it was the best that they are able to do. There is nothing else that can be done. (I need to live with this defect?) What kind of efficient service is this?
d. service personnel are not professional in performing their tasks as they do not look into the proper manner to jack up a car. In two occasions, my side skirt were pressed in between the car jack and the car’s body. I am unsure whether there is any internal damage caused to the clips as it is not visible.

Solution: Proceed to Proton SC to claim warranty for Power Steering fluid assembly. Claims are FOC, including the power steering fluid. Parts list they will change for this new power steering assembly. 1)Tube B - PW828913N 2)Tube A - PW828914N 3)Hose Return - PW828915N 4)Rubber Hose - PW820961 5)Clip Pressure - PW820962 6)Orifice Valve - PW895228
Problem 2: Radio hangs/not responsive while driving and no buttons seems to response to press. Causes: The RDS function is scanning for a clearer frequency. Due to different frequency for the same radio station overlapping certain areas while driving, this causes the radio to re-tune the station. Solution: Turn off the RDS function loh. Go read the manual on how to do it.
Problem 3: Klock klock sound coming from the rear seat. (Not applicable for B-Line ) Causes: The foldable rear seat hook has a bit of free play. Solution: Wrap some thick cushion type double sided tape to the hook.

Recommendation is to change it to ceramic brakes. Better performance and lesser dust. Best Form Ceramic Nao cost just RM63 for a set of front pads. Can get from forummer Kelvin (if im not mistaken).
Tires Most silent = Primacy LC, slightly poor grip on wet roads (a tradeoff for less noise). Dry Grip High Performance = Bridgestone Potenza RE001, Toyo T1R (A wee bit noisier than RE001) Wet Grip High Performance = Yokohama S-Drive, Pirelli P Zero (Rare)
Help to calculate FC Register at http://www.fuelly.com/ and post it in ur siggy. Maybe in the next Version of the thread we can reserve the 2nd post for FC monitoring by forumers.. Or another ideal way to calculate is to 1) Fill full tank petrol and reset trip meter 2) Drive car like mad fella or slow like aunty.. 3) When u need to refill the tank (no matter is only used half tank only or use till no more petrol in tank), top it back up to full tank (remember to note down how many litres filled in, using the price instead is subjective as petrol price fluctuates up and down and may affect future comparison). 4) Jot down mileage from previous full tank till refill and reset trip meter again. 5) Calculate (FC= Total mileage/Litres filled to top up back to full tank). 6) Post it up onto our club here for comparison. State ( XX% city driving / YY%highway) in XX KM/L format..

Terbalik as in upside down lah.. The Mitsubishi word terbalik facing the windscreen instead of facing the front of the car..
Aiya turbo no turbo.. Dun care d lah.. I also cannot mod the PE anymore.. Not no respect lo.. If u know his friend U'll also be sien.. Everytime pijak NA cars wan.. Like turbo is the best.. I last time also use turbo car lah.. And I know the pros n cons of both.. But then I never underestimate NA while I'm using turbo, or underestimate turbo when I'm using manual..

just want to know how much u all pump for the spare tyre ? I saw the tyre so small and need to pump 420kpsi as per user manual. I feel like sweat even before pump it. Until today haven't pump it yet. Hopefully get the advice from all the expertise here.

Now im in CoSE, admit my car at 9:30am and the PIC put estimated time finish at 1:00pm. This is my first service n i told him certain things uneasiness for my car:- 1) alignment issue 2) right hand side mirror panel vibrate whn increase radio volume above 20 3) krak krak sound on behind if drive on bumpy or uneven surface (as posted by xandras, it was due to the dry rear door rubber) 4) high rpm when press cluth during shift gear to 2 and 3 (rpm move up from 2000 to 3000 easily) -- the PIC said thats normal for PE car as the campro engine designed in such way. I also heard from this forumers that it is normal. So i just accepted it without any hassle.
Finally since no labour fee, he put expected price will be RM186.
I also noticed in customer service counter, there is a special counter for inspira car users "inspira executive counter", thats cool uh.. For time being proton's most special guest is Inspira owner.. Hehe...

Me too but i think it was not from the side mirror cos when i put down the window a bit the sound gone, and this is diffrent with the door lock sound, door lock got another sound.

You are 100% correct. When i lower abit my side window the sound gone. Means its the problem with their design already. Hopefully they can fix the issue today

Ya lor, ya lor....had that problem since day 1 on driver rear side windows. Found the sound really from the upper part of windows. Used to keep checking the lower part. I think its the rubber in the frame where the windows close up...maybe rubber harden and gap getting bigger, so mirror a bit lose.
Please do let me know if CoSE solved the issue for you.
I'm going on next Wednesday for 5K service and particularly to solve this issue. Somemore think if can ask them to change the internal rubber frame around the windows.

temporary solution only... though the helping damsel in distress is a proven way to get hooked up...
Itu manual lah.. ppl talking bout auto here.. If u were to turbocharged ur car, u can actually maintain ur FC around the same region but increase hp.. But when u install high cam in ur car.. Straightaway say bye bye to ur FC... There is no such thing as good FC and high powered NA engine.. In NA engines u either choose low end torque or high end power.. In turbo charged cars u can use staged boost setup.. So u can have low end boost with VGT or BBT and extra boost when u reach the high end part.
The tech talk was about piston compression.. NA must use high comp to get high power.. Turbocharged must use low comp, or not engine will knock or blow.. With NA engine and high cam MUST use RON97 or higher.. Turbocharged can still use RON95.. GSR terbalik can.. But nowadays GSR and Mivec engines all around 10-15years old ady.. No point getting those engines.. The tech is too old and not efficient anymore.. huh? facing which way? what u mean? But u get an old engine, unknown mileage, and lots of hidden 'goodies'... I personally favour getting a good car with a good base engine and mod it off from there.. Furthermore nowadays GSR and Mivec CK engines are getting more and more expensive ady.. in 2002 u can get a GSR terbalik 1.8 for only RM3k. Now the same engine with higher mileage is going for around 8-10k at least.. not including installation.. Nope no chance of better FC.. when u install high cam ur low end speed will have very high FC.. around 1.5-2L/100km higher.. True also.. Campro engines are long stroke.. meant for turbocharging more than NA.. Efficient NA engines with high horsepower are not long stroke engines.. For example K20A and F20C engines.. they have bigger bore than stroke ratio.. and they have high horsepower per litre >100bhp:1000cc.. Long stroke engines are suited for turbo application more like RB26DETT, GSR 1.8T etc. U can see that these engines are very durable as the longer stroke helps to clear more vacuum in the combustion chamber for a longer period, allowing the air and fuel to mix more evenly b4 combustion.. and there are alot more other stuffs as well.. BOT got anti-lag system now mah.. Nowadays continental car boost kicks in at around 1.8k-2k RPM.. Full boost by 3k RPM and the full boost of around 1bar can hold on till the end of the rev.. In msia all those kucing kucing modders pakai GSR 1.8T, Mivec CK kind of engines where got good and effecient? those are considered the 2nd generation of turbocharged engines only.. Nowadays turbo engines are at their 5th evolution process ady..
suddenly feel like supercharge the car is better... btw dun change high cam ma can save fc lor...hehe...just not tat powerful only...

So fast ? Mine using the original Ramcar Battery and my car bought 1st April2010 , still going strong. I some more use 2 unit VS and GC.

after warranty expired, no need back to SC anymore. just go outside workshop will be fine and cheap.

mine is withour water...but according to technician not every maintenance free battery is real maintenance free... just they seal all the hole, so the battery water wont dry fast... some not fully maintenance free battery still have hole to add water into it then u can extend the life spam. u just need to tear off the sticker on it then u know is it 100% fully maintenance free battery. last time i bought century battery told me is maintenance free, then i send to workshop. the technician told me this is not fully maintenance free. have to tear off the sticker to confirm!

The battery had checked few time at different shop already.. My car battery still going strong Well.. there is some way to take care the battery..

1) Really a bad day for me. The service advisory said alignment machine out of service and i need to go back on next week to do the alignment. He reduced my mileage (cheated in the service form) from actual value from 1300KM to 980KM to remain my free alignment service. (because free only below 1000km)
2) Fixed by realign behind seat.
3) Fixed by insert sponge.. sponge???
4) Its normal

Btw i just found out.. when it rains, the noisiest part is not the roof but the windscreen.. Especially the rear windscreen. The roof insulation is quite ok IMHO..

Crank sensor is usually available at sc lah.. No need wait so long de..
firmware lagi jialak lar... they will just tell u reset ECU... then problem solved... not secure ler... at the end still dont know the root cause...

I had to fully press the throttle, let off and crank. It could start after I tried a few times...and I drove to SC straightaway. They said I need to upgrade the firmware because early batch has this problem. I'm not sure how true is that, but I had since upgraded and never had the problem anymore (had been a month). I had this problem three times already before upgrading.
Btw i just found out.. when it rains, the noisiest part is not the roof but the windscreen.. Especially the rear windscreen. The roof insulation is quite ok IMHO..

They need pre-order.. It take 2working days to arrive.. If crank sensor, it small matter.. Got few time I saw they park few PE behide serdang sc workshop.. I ask them why, they said can't start due to some wiring problem on the board, some due to starter, some due no reason..

Actually we can upgrade to a larger battery, but not too big, because this may affect the ability of our car's stock alternator to recharge the battery. The alternator have to work harder to recharge the battery as it is bigger, therefore alternator can kaput faster.
To be safe, use back stock size. But if u have to upgrade either due to heavy ICE, multiple amps, etc, don't go beyond 1 size larger than stock. DIN55R is fine, but don't go for DIN60.
u din get free extended warranty meh?? my dad says they edi give us 3years warranty so no need for the extended one that only covers engine and gearbox.

Ok.. DONE. And no sound anymore. I ask what they did.. They told me that they insert sponge inside the internal hardware that control the windows hence no vibration noise when i increase the radio noise above 20...
Even inserting a sponge is really not a professionalism solution, but i still feel ok the noise gone.. But not sure for how long it can tahan lor..

according to bro Zeng, he said is battery flat... but my alarm, light, radio, horn everything is working perfectly... when cranking... only the speedometer move up and down... rpm meter never move. when cranking... can hear tak tak tak sound only... and the light display at meter there went haywire...

Any multipurpose conditioner for fabric/leather/rubber will do. The reason u hear the noise is because the rubber on the car body frame is too dry due to our Malaysian weather. Try to listen to it while driving in or after a heavy rain. The noise will be gone or slightly lessen due to water sipping into the gaps & the rubber softens up a little. Silicone spray/conditioner will also work, but if u wanna verify this issue first before buying the spray, try soaking a cloth in a bowl of water with some soap in it, then apply it onto the rubber the same way I did in the video. Then try to drive around a bit. If the noise is gone then confirm that's the problem. Unfortunately this is not a permanent solution; the only permanent solution would be to replace the rubber with a whole new set, and the problem may still return after a year or two due to the quality of rubber used in manufacturing the rubber strips.

yeah.. but then when u start ur engine its also easier.. Currently our PE needs around 40+ AMPs to start the car.. and the RAMCAR DIN45R batt only provides 45amp/hr.. so when the battery degrades over time, the amp will get lesser and lesser, so the battery cant start ur car degrading a bit only cos the engine needs more than 40amp/hr to crank.. Thats y it seems like our battery dies off very prematurely compared to other cars.. When u put in a 55R battery, it will definitely last longer than the current one cos even after degrading it is still able to supply enough power to crank..

Currently our PE needs around 40+ AMPs to start the car.. and the RAMCAR DIN45R batt only provides 45amp/hr.. so when the battery degrades over time, the amp will get lesser and lesser, so the battery cant start ur car degrading a bit only cos the engine needs more than 40amp/hr to crank.. Thats y it seems like our battery dies off very prematurely compared to other cars.. When u put in a 55R battery, it will definitely last longer than the current one cos even after degrading it is still able to supply enough power to crank.. Yeap.. the speedo like jumping jumping a bit.. then sometimes the RPM stick also will go haywire.. Forgot ady.. I ask my housemate first.. I realised that Esso is not as good as Caltex when u go for speed above 130+kmh....Or ur car RPM is above 3.5k then Caltex got more advantage..

Yea.. But the problem is not with the life of the battery. Rather it's with the car's alternator.. The alternator have to work extra over time to recharge the battery, the alternator can kong faster also.. But DIN55 still safe lah.. Don't go beyond that..

the 55amp/hr means the battery is capable of supplying up to 55amp/hr mah.. It doesnt means the car have to use up all the capacity everytime.. Like say when u crank the engine and it uses 38amp of current at 12volts to start, then the alternator would charge back the same 38amps at 14volts till it is full..
The battery had checked few time at different shop already.. My car battery still going strong Well.. there is some way to take care the battery.. Yup. I got one jumper cable in my car.. I did help few CKT and NL to jump start their car Yup. I bought oil filter from them already, it cost only RM 12.20 You dont have any voltage stabilizer on your car? I thought without water is using cell?

my house area very easy, Esso, Caltex and Petronas in that order.. haha.. So when my tank empty, go Caltex/esso fill RM30, then go Petronas fill till full tank.. Total around RM75 like that.. hehe..

i think what he is referring to is the front lower part of the bumper where people make a hole so that they can connect a pipe to their air box to allow more air in the engine i guess..

Nope.. Those PE that was manufactured after october 2010 all comes with the latest firmware.

yesterday evening got my PE b-line chiffon green Manual..add me to the first page please...this is my first car...everything is quiet except when braking hard..braking wise..now i know when to step harder on the brake(scary first time driving the car..)..when i got my car..it was already 25km..and they filled half tank petrol. it looks like the FC quite high because i t showed 15.3l/100km..i travelled around 60km city driving..any after that my fuel meter went down til first quater....yesterday also heavy rain..inside seems quiet but when i saw my headlamp, it was foggy inside..not sure if theres water inside headlamp..and i havent even read the manual..funny though..yesterday go around kl without roadtax displayed..this morning just realise it was in the boot..
since it;s a new car whats the recommended speed? can i rev heavily? because when i drove the car, i didnt realise i was doing 130kph until i saw the speedometer because it was too quiet and i also didnt realise i alwasy revs to 5k rpm..it seems like its easy to revs because it is so smooth..power wise..adequate and im happily smiling provided if rev starting from 2.5k..below that..the car is not going anywhere..
ps; end of this year..going to get new bodykit..sport rims and new exaust system..
got any tips? btw. the sales man said the car have 3 years of warranty or 100k km or 125k km..the kilometer one im not sure..but he said 3 years....went through their website. i didnt see anywhere stated in it or in the manual..

Zeng, u r right. not the crank sensor faulty, is battery weak. i think we have to update the 1st page for this issue.
for my case, alarm, horn, light, radio and etc... all running well when the battery weak, just cannot start the car. when cranking, just can hear tak tak tak sound and no respon, and the light on meter will going haywire...
i believe everyone here can take note and no need tow ur car to anyone before trying to change battery urself or jumpstart ur car. this can save the towing fee.

The last time I bought in June (H-Line), my SA says 5 years....turns out only 2 years or 50K. Never going to buy from that SA again...all wrong info, even service voucher if I did not found out abt it myself, he never tell.
New car run in period of 1K to 5K, try not to rev above 3.5K rmp, and try stay within 120km/h for the parts to run in properly as a guideline. For PE, its very hard to go below 100km/h if going on highway...very very hard, so I hit 110km/h max during my 1K and b4 5K, 130km/h max.
yes, but not worth lor... kena chop already... RM290 for DIN55R battery. if add in the towing fee... lagi jialak lar...
Just take it this way lo, sooner or later also u need to change ur battery mah.. Just change now lo..

When I complain even of the sound immediately after they change my rear side windows from Gen2 wan to PE, krak krak sound appear. They use silicon to solve the problem. No sound....but within an hour after I take car...sounds come back. Complain again at 1K, use silicon again, again many test, issue solve.....drive home again, within an hour, come back again...grrr..
So at 5K, what should I do? Have to ask them silicon no use, change rubber?

That one can be change easily if really force to but if the problem comes from rubber hardening in the windows frame itself, darn cialat to change. Not sure SC has the expertise or not since last time change 1 side windows also take half day.
I suspect the gap left by Gen2 windows wrongly install last time exposed the internal rubber in the windows frame at the top (exactly the near the spot where the krak krak sound comes from). So if its not the rubber on top of the door, then sure its the rubber framing the windows, harden. Sometimes when I press the affected window inward hard, it can move in a bit. The other side window don't move at all.

U try to confirm urself what's the problem first.. If u're very sure that the rubber is the 1 making the noise, then ask them to change the entire strip lo..

Try lo.. But this is a general issue lah. Maybe there are 2 problems now also u wouldnt know, both the rubber hardened up and the window gap problem.
Not yet want to service. Maybe will try castrol edge for 10k service. Those magnatec sold also produced in January this year. If use now ok lah but if have to wait few months later, better wait lah for better offer.

actually i want to jumpstart, but somehow i said... all the lighting, electrick part are working fine. so i ignore the battery flat possibilty, make sense what... who know persona ecu got such feature to prevent cranking when battery less than 41amp...

actually i want to jumpstart, but somehow i said... all the lighting, electrick part are working fine. so i ignore the battery flat possibilty, make sense what... who know persona ecu got such feature to prevent cranking when battery less than 41amp...

Aiya...just start the car and go Spare part shop direct buy..Change battery is a simple job and cheaper price also
follow up with my case, Serdang sc called me and inform problem due to battery weak. suggesting me change to DIN55R at RM290.
Zeng, u r right. not the crank sensor faulty, is battery weak. i think we have to update the 1st page for this issue.
for my case, alarm, horn, light, radio and etc... all running well when the battery weak, just cannot start the car. when cranking, just can hear tak tak tak sound and no respon, and the light on meter will going haywire...
i believe everyone here can take note and no need tow ur car to anyone before trying to change battery urself or jumpstart ur car. this can save the towing fee.
if tak tak tak sound, for sure battery not enough power to kick the starter.. other electrical component might react the same since the battery is enough to power them up but not strong enough to power the starter motor..

CAR battery are only 1 year warranty so it last for 1 year only, nowdays all people are geting smart, any product will last to it warranty period only.

u r right. just changed a new DIN55R at Serdang sc, cost RM290. Alternator tested no problem.

Don't ever use Bendix brand.. I had bad experience on Bendix Metal King.. If you wanna change brake pad, pls go for rapidstop or something else..

Dont worry.. Ur car FC will always be high b4 its 1k, 5k and 10k service, its gets better and better as u service... The car engine will only operate at its best after ur 20k service.. Speaking from experience.. So the first 20k of FC will be a bit high.. Like say around 1-1.5L/100km higher.. after that it would be very economical.
Its up to u if u want to drive hard or slow.. When i got my car i just drove like Schumacher on steroids.. Cos the car is really powerdul on high rev and i get to tapau all my friends Myvis, Dugong Vios, Swift etc etc.. haha.. Ur car power will increase much more if u do the right exhaust setup.. For better setup I would recommend u set up ur car for low end torque improvement.. So u will have a more balanced engine..

Is the car easier to start now?? with 55amp/hr, starting is super easy.. haha.. Century brand? When the battery is weak, first sign of it is the starter motor will tak tak tak when u crank and the instrument panel the meter needle will jump and bounce around.. The radio sometimes will hang also..

U shd have taken back ur old battery.. Just sent to some shop to recharge it and u can use for another year without problem ady..

Nope.. Those PE that was manufactured after october 2010 all comes with the latest firmware. Yeah for the original ones from Proton.. U can try taiwan made ones..RM350 only per pair.. Quite good quality... Nope.. This fair in Putrajaya one.. Its a gomen organised Ramadhan fair.. 99.999999998% Malays there.. So surely u will get to pick up a NL there.. hehe.

Means its either which comes 1st. If u drive 100k km in a year and 3 years haven reach yet then your warranty will end also.

Yeah.. hehe.. 19yo only.. XD.. Met her while working at a fair.. The spare tire have to pump 60psi, cos its thinner and u need more pounds per square inch to support the car.. Nothing to be worried about, just read the instructions on the tire and pump according to specs.. For ur normal tires try to maintain around 230kpa in front and 215-220kpa at back for optimum FC vs comfort balance. Sometimes the battery very fast naik kereta one.. It depends on ur luck also if u got a good or lousy battery.. Yeah i did mine after buka puasa.. hehe.. TBSS... Whenever ur car is foggy from the inside just on the air con.. U need to ventilate the air cos when u breath in and out there is too much moisture and will fog up the screen.. Its just battery kong.. No need to worry about it.. Chill... Ur crank sensor all still ok one.. When change battery change to DIN55R.. dont change back to the ori DIN45R..

Ha? Ur car how old wor suspension already got sound? If u heard the krekk krekk sound when passenger go in/out, most of the time it's caused by the rear brakes. Try putting ur car in P & let go the brake pedal altogether when ppl is boarding/getting off ur car. Sure no sound wan.

Yea. Duke got saman. Not auto cam. The police sit there with speed detector then roadblock in front. I baru got into Duke from MRR2 that time, it's just one corner in & I haven't gotten the chance to slow down yet. Braking during cornering is too dangerous lah. Then mana tau right after I enter Duke 2 sohems sit at the side of the road like paparazzi detected my PE's speedbutt. Habis lo.
Btw I realised something that happens almost every single time when I drive in the Penchala tunnel. U guys know there's a slight turning to the left in the tunnel? If u drive ur car up to around 120 KM/h & then take ur foot off the accelerator while taking the corner, the engine RPM speed will actually stay constant at ~3k RPM, and the speed will never drop from 120 KM/h until u're out of the tunnel. Kinda spooky, like got auto cruise wan.

What time is it usually got block? Normally every morning I use that road + speed also nvr c be4. Lucky me They sit under the bridge right? Penchala link that 1 maybe do it purposely downhill so when you come out from the tunnel, another paparazzi sitting under the bridge to ready take your speed.

Night time lah. Now puasa time they wont come out during day lah. Like dracula oni
No, the Penchala tunnel that's turning left is not downhill. I forgot to point that out. That is why it's so darn scary. Even if it's going downhil also u'll be able to feel ur gear pulling & trying to slow u down, but through that particular corner when u lift ur feet completely off the throttle it feels as if ur foot is still there at the same position, the car not going any faster or slower, just constant at 120 KM/h.

when i constant drive 100kmh, indicator show me around 6.4L/kmh. when i constant drive 130kmh, indicator show me around 7.1L/kmh. lagi i feel the car power still there!! the result is damn awesome!! we see how it goes... keep u guys update!!

U think like human meh, mix 7-UP with beer = diarrhoea? Petrol is petrol lah.. How u mix also it's still fuel for the car to burn.. Of course u dont go mix kerosene with petrol, diesel petrol lah.. Wan ur engine die fast meh.. As long as it's unleaded and petrol of the same kind, can mix.. RON doesn't matter..

As long as u mixed unleaded petrol then its ok lah.. haha.. Where got such thing say mix petrol not good.. Basically all petrol are using the same base, just that the additives they add into the base is different between each companies..

I remember in jakarta or bali they mix their motor fuel with 30-50% of spirit or kerosene already. more smoke coming out but bang for the buck

guys guys, i hate my FC, but i always drive at 2000 RPM, even when accelerating...
if i use the cruise control when accelerating it will go to 4000RPM until i reach my desired speed, which is usually 70kmh, top gear, 2000RPM
have i been making a mistake? since it is a high rev engine should i accelerate at high rpm and cruise at low RPM?

I don't get what you mean by accelerate at high rpm and cruise at low rpm.
You should not use cruise control in hilly area or roads with lots of cornering. Cruise control are meant for highway drive only where its generally a straight road.
In city area with cornering, slowdown, traffics, etc will actually increase your FC consumption as the ECU struggle to maintain its desired speed by increasing and decreasing acceleration constantly and inefficiently. On LONG stretch of straight road, ECU need only increase and decrease very slightly and efficiently to maintain cruising speed....thats what cruise control are meant, not city drive.
When you want to cruise on a long straight road (with bends ok, since speed not reduce, corner cannot lar), switch on the cruise by pressing the button. Then accelerate slowly as usual until reaching your desired speed. Once you reach your target speed, set the cruise speed on by pushing it downward. Thats abt it.
Nothing to do with increasing RPM or anything. Your RPM would NOT should up to 4000 if accelerate up to 70km/h. RPM will react as usual, maybe with a initial spike of a little rpm increase before stabilizing at 70km/h rpm.
Oh...btw, travelling at 70km/h, not very FC saving. The general best is 80km/h to 90km/h. However after driving PE for a couple of months, with its weaker lower end torque but ok mid torque but need 6.8k rpm to reach max torque.....I think travelling at 100km/h save more than 80km/h. Technically wind drag will increase FC with higher speed but I think the higher end torque neutralize that disadvantage and sort of help it better than 80km/h.

depend normally ur car carry how many passengers geh... for my previous car, saga 6years suspension still good... but persona dunno y, now 4 suspension also have guak guak sound whenever got passenger go in/out.
my car also sounds guak guak when go in/out...i think is the brake making the noices, cause this happen everytime i brake or when i pulled my handbrake for parking when get in/out from car...if normal i stop roadside pickup my fren no sounds during loading 4 ppl.

That's true. PE ECU has better function and learning process compare to non PE ECU. PE ECU can record error history.. For example crank sensor got problem, they can check from the history why the car can't start. On non PE ECU can't record at all..
yeah actually it still can inmprove your peddal respond but not tune it lah, 32 bit ECU can learn driver driving style, so if will always drvie more actively it will adopt and learn, your car respond will be different. It retune it self according to drive style.

i think u r confused. none PE which using 16bits ECU cannot tune the pedal sensor. only PE with 32bits ECU able to tune the pedal sensor.
that is simple, 16 bit need manual tune you can set it as your prefance, 32bit will auto tune but cannot do it manually or force it manually, it is just lit auto and manual trans.

They said they allowed Proton to use their 4B11 engine, never say Proton cannot modify or tune the car & engine in whatsoever way. Proton already meddled with the suspension, so what are the odds of them turbocharging the car once their R&D with CPS Turbo is done with?

Oh yeah, and I never shared my story of test driving the Honda Insight yet..
My verdict:
As a true petrolhead (would love to declare myself as one, but I haven't own an Alfa yet. Shame.), I often cringe at the sight of hybrids on the road. Especially Malaysian roads. I couldn't help but to notice that they all share the same dull, not-so-fast-back styling. Take the Toyota Prius & Honda Insight for an instance. The 'hybrid shape' usually explains how boring hybrids are; and Lexus joined the market with their quintessentially designed, rather pleasant looking CT200h. Doesn't matter to me, still a hybrid anyway. It's just another Prius in Lexus' clothing. Although it does make me squirm whenever one drives past me. Yes, I'm a sucker for Lexus (Lexuses? Lexi? Lexera?). The CT200h shares the similar engine, similar electric motor with its' cousin, and that gives a similar combined output. Also not to mention that I was once marinated, dusted, grilled & smoked in my stock Persona by a Prius, driven by a lady. At 180 KM/h. On the ever bumpy Duke Highway.
Let's get back to the main point, shall we? I wasn't too keen to test drive the Insight at first, because I'm still against the whole hybrid idea. But because it was a sincere offer made by my friend who recently acquired her new Insight, and me being the worst critic among my peers when it comes to cars, I reluctantly accepted the offer. Yes, I was still very skeptical at this point, but not until I was greeted with a warm welcome by a nice 'beep' when the door was opened. Could've been worse.
I must say I was rather pleased by the arrangement of buttons & dials on the dashboard in the car. A nice-to-the-touch CD player with grey brushed metal finishings; can't help but to perpetually run my fingertips on the headunit & caress it. Am I the only one with a fetish for brushed finishings here?
Digital speedo display. Hmm. Nice touch, but it wouldn't give as much thrill as watching the needle rise on a conventional analogue. It's a 1,339 CC 4-banger with an ELECTRIC MOTOR. Wouldn't do that quick, anyway. It weighs around the same as a Persona, mind you.
I hate it when car manufacturers, especially the big ones like Honda decide to use cheap plastics for the door trims in their cars. The door trim feels REALLY cheap, very close in quality to that of the first generation Myvi. As if they were made out of recycled plastic bags. It doesn't feel like a sub RM 100k car to the receptors on my fingertips. Come to think of it, the Myvi's door panel were less flimsy compared to the Insight's. Even the interior of the slightly cheaper, new Honda City is a notch above. Sound insulation was O.K., but Honda could've done better.
And so, what's the drive like? The stepless CVT gearbox provided the car with a rather smooth acceleration. 0-100 in about 11.4 seconds as recorded by the car owner who was sitting beside me at that time, a far cry from the manufacturer's claim of 10-ish seconds. Still faster than many cars today. Lesson learnt; do not EVER mess with hybrids as they have enough torque from the electric motors to smoke you from standstill. Comfort was acceptable on paved surface, although on certain rough road patches you could feel the details on the road; stones, tiny cracks, holes. At one point I actually thought I felt the car went over an engraving on the road that reads: 'MRR2, 1992'.
Honda should've painted the ECO button in red instead of green with fine printings on it, in bolded capital that says: 'Do not press.'. With the ECO mode activated, it was a pain to sit in the car through the traffic under the ever blazing, scorching sun on our way to Pavilion as it reduces the climate control (the mighty invention that we Malaysians worship and recognize as 'air-cond') fan speed and recirculates the air in the car more. Might be a rather nice implementation to other parts of the world, but not here in Malaysia. And as smooth as the engine is (a plus point for the Insight), it is rather irritating when it constantly stops and restarts in a jam when your foot is on the brakes. The ECO mode also limits the power and torque, which is a rather brilliant way to reduce fuel consumption, but there isn't enough power to get the car up to a cruising speed once the traffic cleared.
Overall, the Insight is a rather decent car, but what you get doesn't actually justify what you paid for. Probably paying extra for that electric motor and battery, but the interior should've been better, and comfort can still be improved. Haven't actually tried to thrash the car around corners to test the handling, but from city maneuvers, it's easy to tell that the car wouldn't slip through corners like a snake. Steering was extremely light, so light that I had to constantly remind myself that I'm holding a steering wheel that is ACTUALLY connected to the front wheels, as opposed to my cousin's 1994 Proton Saga Iswara. Trying to park that Saga in a parallel parking box is equivalent to working out at the gym for 30 minutes with no membership fees; I can skip gym altogether! Point being, if you have RM 100k to splurge on a car, go for the new City or the Jazz instead.

I think mitsubishi dont allow proton to touch the powertrain for inspira. Read some where that proton engineers intend to tune the engine performance slightly higher (as somehow the 4B11 mivec gives less power then what it is giving in lancer). But mitsubshi doesnt allow it. And read in inspira club .... seems like earlier batches of inspira if got problem related to the engine, proton will have mitsubshi technician look at it rather themselves...
So i doubt think proton will be turbocharging the 4B11 themselves (without mitsubishi participation).

Why never ask them get it painted before they deliver it to u? Can straight away cabut ur OEM bumper & install on the spot.
my car is in d workshop...repair for cosmetic damage due accident... tats y i jz buy from them then take to workshop to install now im worried bout d stock front grill...most probably will keep it or sell it off

K&N too high flow. May cause debris buildup in ur engine's internals later on. Performance wise K&N better.

Overall, the Insight is a rather decent car, but what you get doesn't actually justify what you paid for. Probably paying extra for that electric motor and battery, but the interior should've been better, and comfort can still be improved. Haven't actually tried to thrash the car around corners to test the handling, but from city maneuvers, it's easy to tell that the car wouldn't slip through corners like a snake. Steering was extremely light, so light that I had to constantly remind myself that I'm holding a steering wheel that is ACTUALLY connected to the front wheels, as opposed to my cousin's 1994 Proton Saga Iswara. Trying to park that Saga in a parallel parking box is equivalent to working out at the gym for 30 minutes with no membership fees; I can skip gym altogether! Point being, if you have RM 100k to splurge on a car, go for the new City or the Jazz instead.

It doesn't feel like a sub RM 100k car to the receptors on my fingertips. Come to think of it, the Myvi's door panel were less flimsy compared to the Insight's. Even the interior of the slightly cheaper, new Honda City is a notch above. Sound insulation was O.K., but Honda could've done better.
And so, what's the drive like? The stepless CVT gearbox provided the car with a rather smooth acceleration. 0-100 in about 11.4 seconds as recorded by the car owner who was sitting beside me at that time, a far cry from the manufacturer's claim of 10-ish seconds. Still faster than many cars today. Lesson learnt; do not EVER mess with hybrids as they have enough torque from the electric motors to smoke you from standstill. Comfort was acceptable on paved surface, although on certain rough road patches you could feel the details on the road; stones, tiny cracks, holes. At one point I actually thought I felt the car went over an engraving on the road that reads: 'MRR2, 1992'.

Why never ask them get it painted before they deliver it to u? Can straight away cabut ur OEM bumper & install on the spot.
if ask them spray d bumper need to add $ also ma...since my car is in workshop now under repair + spray...so just take it to workshop n let them spray one shot for d dmg parts

go test Prius you will get better feel no horm to test since you got time, more important is to share here.....

Guys need ur advice.yesterday i went to pasar ramadan near nilai.i parked my car beside white saga BLM.affter i tokk my baby stroller from bonet i trus tekan remote to lock the car.suddenly saga BLM also locked.i try so many time.i trus cuak and i think maybe this case only 1/1000 probably.but why i kena?need to go to SC to change remote freq?and bout "CAN BRING OWN LUBE" for certain SE i can bring for my 5k service?thanx guys!!raya nk dekat ni... ;-)

Toyota claimed the Prius does 0-100 in 10 secs. Prius using 1.8 engine. Partly also because the Insight comes with CVT. And the Insight's combined torque is about 200 NM. As we all know torque is very important for acceleration and uphill abilities. That's how Tesla Roadster can achieve 0-100 under 4 seconds although using ONLY electric motor. 270 NM of torque at ZERO (0, SIFAR) RPM.

I don't like the Prius. Generally I'm still against all sorts of electric/hybrid cars, brand doesn't matter. Although I would really LOVE to try the CT200h, as I found out from a Lexus salesman that it is slightly different than Prius (there are settings for the car that can be adjusted on the fly to provide more response & power).

Frequency collision la. So happened that Saga BLM's alarm frequency is the same as ur PE's ma. Cant be avoided lah.. Sure got chance something like this will happen wan.. That's why I install aftermarket alarm system

follow up with my case, Serdang sc called me and inform problem due to battery weak. suggesting me change to DIN55R at RM290.
Zeng, u r right. not the crank sensor faulty, is battery weak. i think we have to update the 1st page for this issue.
for my case, alarm, horn, light, radio and etc... all running well when the battery weak, just cannot start the car. when cranking, just can hear tak tak tak sound and no respon, and the light on meter will going haywire...
i believe everyone here can take note and no need tow ur car to anyone before trying to change battery urself or jumpstart ur car. this can save the towing fee.

I saw once ppl sell whole set campro IAFM 1.6 engine for 7k. But that was a while ago. Just customize & change ur normal IAFM to CPS lah. For wat wan go get halfcut n all. Waste time waste money very troublesome samore. RM 3k only ma for CPS set.

of course pe auto cant compete with cps auto... difference in hp it self...

Just changed the power steering assembly at Juru SC. Didnt test out whether the knocking sound is still there or not but I notice the steering is lighter than usual now! Normal ar?

just start the project of modify NA lar... i believe NA engine still can go further if modify gaogao...

I love PE for its fuel consumptions.. 12 cents hiway @ 120kmh, 17 cents urban driving is considered good enough for me.. If want more power, for sure fuel cost will increase.. PE is good..

Sam, why susah susah mod this? better you go get a better car instead of modding your PE. If really you mod beyond your PE still you are driving PE. This does not make your PE ori anymore. I see. Yea true also. I didn't see the damage to ur car so dono how bad it is mah. If can spray the bumper together with the car after ketuk the paint will match better. Toyota claimed the Prius does 0-100 in 10 secs. Prius using 1.8 engine. Partly also because the Insight comes with CVT. And the Insight's combined torque is about 200 NM. As we all know torque is very important for acceleration and uphill abilities. That's how Tesla Roadster can achieve 0-100 under 4 seconds although using ONLY electric motor. 270 NM of torque at ZERO (0, SIFAR) RPM. I kinda forgot this already.. But if I remember correctly, there is, but only 1. Yea cos I thought the damage is to ur bumper only ma. If u ask them spray for u it's cheaper. I don't like the Prius. Generally I'm still against all sorts of electric/hybrid cars, brand doesn't matter. Although I would really LOVE to try the CT200h, as I found out from a Lexus salesman that it is slightly different than Prius (there are settings for the car that can be adjusted on the fly to provide more response & power). Installation fee RM 3000? I feel it's a bit expensive though. I wouldn't do it if I were u Frequency collision la. So happened that Saga BLM's alarm frequency is the same as ur PE's ma. Cant be avoided lah.. Sure got chance something like this will happen wan.. That's why I install aftermarket alarm system

Ur preference lah.. How much u willing to spend on ur alarm system? Usually the more u spend the more features u get.. A simple alarm can cost as little as RM 1xx to RM 3-4xxx. U wan bring own lube u can go to CoSE.. So far that's the confirmed SC that can bring lube..

Usually they wont charge u more than RM 400 for the whole bumper paint lah.

My tire kena 1 screw, may I know plug or patch way to repair it better? I mean in term of safety and durable. During my Wira time, few round the tire shop recommend me to patch, and it really long. This round my PE, NCT 5, go to another shop, the boss say patch can last until the tire botak also. Any professional to advice?

Really? PE gearbox also can use toyota transmission oil? I tot can only proton's SP-III..

Am still drooling everytime I sit in my friend's polo.. Now coming out with supercharged.. 2x drooling.
Tested zeng's fuel mixing theory, it does work.. Sh1t jam in kl for 4-5 hours and going up genting and down. My fc is 8.5 only.But I'm lazy, just refueled full tank of caltex, maybe fuel up with petronas when finish one bar..
My brake pad habis half way down from genting.. So have to chill with durian ice cream.. Have to consider slotted and drilled disc already.

no la..i juz interested to upgrade my car lo..hehe..i oso do like tat for my previous wira se..for led lighting system for went for show purpose ady cost me RM1k++ ady..led strip la,controller board...
juz nw at lekas highway,i'm pair and pair to play wit one vios,from 120-190 vios langsung cant follow me lo..i fetched my mother in law and my wife lo...hehe..boring to drive 120..so saw one vios drive quite fast from behind,then juz tested wit it lo..

Eh VW starting CKD assembly by DRB Hicom from sept/oct onwards.. I think need to patent the fuel formula ady lah.. haha.. Everyone getting good results.. My FC currently averaging at 7.5L/100km.. Shocking good FC for town driving.. And my optimum driving speed is around 110-130kmh.. I get an average of 6.8L/100km travelling at 100kmh/2700RPM constantly.

If u do the bedding in properly, then the brakes will be very much better than a non properly bedded in disc.. Bedding in results in a transfer of brake pad materials from the brake pads to the surface of the disc. For the brake pads to work properly, the compound from the brake pads will work with the compound that has been transferred onto the brake disc in either 2 ways, adhesive or abrasive.. Unless u are using Carbon ceramic disc, then i think most of the cast iron disc wont make much difference between each other except for built quality.

handsome looking handles better than my other City'10 actually like the engine aircon damn cold the colour is elegant
things i dislike:
Squeaking sound whenever the car yaw cheap plastic feel missing seatbelt warning light multifunction (???) steering wheel <--- sponge bob brake feeling

Because the solution wasn't in V1-7 before I join I only posted the solution up in V16/17, and once/twice in V21/22.

Seatbelt warning light is never there in the 1st place for local models. Only for export models.
Multifunction steering wheel = the one for u to adjust ur radio volume, tracks, mute, etc. What's wrong with it?
U're driving H-line & u're complaining about ur brakes??

one more thing..the rpm often shoots..i try to let go pedal early before engaging the cluth...but still shoots..sometimes it reach redline..how to solve?
Multifunction steering wheel = the one for u to adjust ur radio volume, tracks, mute, etc. What's wrong with it?
U're driving H-line & u're complaining about ur brakes?? Try to talk about KY Jelly, Durex or Vaseline.. I'm sure he'll come out again..
I like the radio multi-function way way better than the plain steering wheel on my 2006 City VTEC and 2008 Civic 1.8. Can change volume and station without leaning over to the radio albeit the button is a bit cheapo looking and too small but better than nothing.
H-Line brake also a bit spongy initially but by 1K should be ok liao unless he's comparing to performance brakes....

did you tell the SA about the rpm issue durng the last service, cos the rpm shooting to red line when pressing clutch is not normal , the rpm will shoot up when press clutch but wil not go to till red line. Just my 2 cent your wiring harness might have problem.

Cheap plastic feel = especially the signal/wiper stalk....damn i can feel the plastic moulding edge. multifu steering wheel =no illumination at night? come on la. brakes = hope Cavino revelation that after 1k it will feel sturdier is true.

my car still havent due for first service..now clock 500km only..the rpm shooting up i forgot to tell SC...i think its because of the delay of the throttle..if rev it until 5k rpm..usually will shoot until redline..below 5k usually going up around 1k-2krpm..try to release throttle at the same time engaging clutch..it shoots up..
ps: if you're accelerating..you dont want to release throttle first then press the clutch.imagine your're doing 6krpm on first gear..then let go accelerator..then press clutch..haiz..

I'm not so sure about this.. But multi function steering wheel WITH illumination at night? U mean the words on the button illuminated for u to see? What are u expecting from a sub RM60k locally made car? Sure they wanna cut cost here & there lah..
For brakes.. no need hope lah.. If u've driven a M/B-line before then u'll be more than grateful with ur H-line brakes now. U just need to do hard braking a bit more often to bed in ur brake pads properly, and then it'll be fine.

I'm not quite sure about manual PEs, but it could be throttle response delay as u mentioned. Try ask manual old-timers like hammie for more info.

Personally I would not recommend 30 weighted lube for Campro without CPS, as lube might be too thin for this revvy engine. Stick with the lube viscosity within the recommended range. Never try, never know.. Many PE owners also denied it at first without trying, but once they try then they knw what is the real problem.. Mind explaining more on ur noise/squeaking issue? Does it happen during full load? Do u hear it when ur car is going over road humps/potholes/uneven road?

i was about to ask question regarding this.. what is ur rim's offset? which part does it rubs?
Go look at ur rear bumper at the wheel arch.. there's a screw/bracket on the part connecting ur rear bumper to the car metal body.. If u're using 16/17 inch rims, the tyre may hit the bracket regularly when there's load in ur car, or when u're driving fast over uneven surface..

F.Y.I. 'the man in the video' is me.. No no, it's not just anywhere on the door that u press will make such noise.. Only on the small triangular window. Reason being because when u press on the small triangular window, the force is dissipated to the area around it and the pillar separating the triangular window from the main window, thus the noise is replicated.

That suspension system is the most valueble system in Persona it was tune and design by LOTUS engineering you wanna change it !!!! after change you will lost the fun when dring your Persona, anyway you already void the LOTUS engineering setup when you mention you add staybilizing bar and ARB erlier.

was thinking the same too. especially the anti roll bar since it's quite complicated setup compared to City's n passat cc. need to check that first.

100K plus civic 1.8 did not even have steering wheel multi-function, talk abt cutting cost.....thats why I say PE steering button very good liao.
If comparing with bigger rides, even H-Line not so very makan esp vs more performance oriented brake pads and system. However for if you drive City and Vios before you will notice all sort of same braking powers....not so makan, I think at most 300C pads. PE H-Line with its heavier weight perform the same as lighter City and Vios (meaning agak agak same braking performance after calc weight ratio thingy, just theory and "feel" only), so I would say the brake system and makan-ness is adequate and on par with most rides at these category.
I've done hard brakes before on both higher speed and lower, would not brake immediately but still braking is adequate enuf (similar to my other rides) that my PE still in 1 piece. Of course before pad bed in, sure scare the hell of out me when I almost bang someone since brake so spongy initially.

Upgrade brake pads, change better, higher temp brake fluid will give u a better braking system already..
Btw I just realised that many Proton cars share the same steering wheel if they come with multifunc steering.. Even the Savvy/Satria Neo steering design also same with PE wan..

PE brake gives me lot of these experience; Front jam brake or suddenly you wasn't concentrating = Jam brake Almost to still stop the car still moving and getting closer and closer to the front car's bumper thinking "okay i'm dead, gonna bang this car already" finally stopped but like less than a feet from front car bumper to bumper.

It doesn't switch, It scan through the channel like channel 1 for 10sec then auto change to channel 2 for another 10 sec until browse through whole channel back to channel 1.

The last time I switched from stock rims to 17 inch rims, they took my wheels for RM 1000-1200. Don't remember how much d, but should be around there. When I first go there with my completely new ride, they offered to take it for RM 1400.

Ya kah...maybe I'll check again. Rarely switch channel thru steering. Just change mode only, 1 for CD, FM1 for 1 english channel (92.9, i think) and FMT for myFM...enuf for me already. Only bored I will switch between same english or chinese channels but thru the radio panel itself...find it mopre convenient rather than hold the button (since I rarely do that).

Estima or Alphard or Veilfire cant bot.. The gearbox is the 7 gear CVT.. Cant withstand the power.. My neighbour got veilfire and we tried to BOT it.. but the 3.5L V6 veilfire can bot cos its a normal 6-speed torque converter.
