If you do not have a Current or Savings Account with Maybank but you want a Maybank2U online account to check your Maybankard 2 Cards transactions, you need to go to a Maybank branch to get it done. Better that inform the officer that you want the Maybankard 2 Visa or MasterCard as the main account and add your Maybankard 2 Amex to it. However if you want your Maybankard 2 Amex to be the main card for the account, when you first log in to register username add 0 to the 15 digits of your Amex card.

Click here to read about my experience in getting a Maybank2U account for my MBB credit cards.

I applied mine through email 7 days ago on my own initiative.

Then 4 days ago, someone from Maybank phoned me, i believe it's because i click the 'i am interested' thingy. She asked me to email the application to her and i did.

Just now, I called AMEX customer care line to follow up and was informed that there is no record on the system yet, and had me re-sent my application.

So all in all, i have submitted my application 3 times.

Go to The Curve flea market during the weekend. The credit card counters are located at the middle point in front of The Apartment. You get a free umbrella from Maybank for applying. rclxms.gif

I'm disappointed though Popular bookshop does not take Amex. sad.gif

Added on March 15, 2011, 11:00 pmEh, the Amex cannot use to pay bills? Do i have to activate my cards for online payments and purchases?

Since you forgot to ask, why don't you call back CS and ask?
Do you really want the cards, or are you just interested only?

Look at the bright side. It's not really a bad thing because with only 1 set of platinum card, you are only able to get back RM50 cash back with 1k spent. With 2 sets you can now earn RM100 cash back with 2k spent.

Can anyone teach me how to make bill payments with Amex via M2U? The drop down merchant menu in my M2U is empty for Amex.

MBB 2 platinum. Cs said is platinum but branch said is gold. Will see what I collect from branch next week. Submit application last Tuesday through branch was told to b approved 7 days, after call follow up, it was approved this Wednesday. Not bad

Added on March 18, 2011, 11:11 amwow... just received call from the branch that my card is ready for collection now. In total, MBB took 10 calendar days to process and release the card. smile.gif

Hi Guys,

I need your Opinion here on credit cards. Currently i have a American Express Gold Card. I have applied for CIMB tng VISA platinium and got it. I was thinking whether to cancel the cimb TnG visa Platimiun and covert my America Express Gold Card to Maybank 2 Platinium.

I have compare both of the benefits in terms of insurance. Missed Flight Connection, Flight Delay and Flight Luggage Delay does cover RM1000 for the insured person for CIMB Platimiun card. Maybank is much lower RM800. For Flight Luggage loss, Maybank offer RM2500 and CIMB offers RM 1000. There is no Retail protection found on CIMB card.

Do you think i should terminated my CIMB card and convert the American Express Gold to Maybank 2 Platinium? Please advice.

QUOTE(willchoong @ Mar 18 2011, 03:08 PM)

*
Go convert the AMEX Gold CC to Maybankard 2 Cards. Not only Maybankards 2 cards gives you Travel Insurance, but your get 5X TP for any transactions and cash back 5%. As for CIMB, you got to go decide if CIMB promotions benefit you.

Not Maybankard 2 Gold though. It doesn't come with complimentary travel insurance. And by the way, CIMB kind of sucks these days.

Every purchases charged to your Maybankard 2 AMEX during weekend will get you additional 5% cash back on top of the usual RM1 = 5 Treatpoints. However, this cash back is capped at only RM50 per month. It means that even if you charge RM5k into your Maybankard 2 AMEX on the weekend in a calender month, you can only get a maximum cash back of RM50.

Cool. Maybank shouldn't ask people to sign and return the paper. Because it contains so much personal information... card number, expiry, name, IC No..and signature. If somebody get their hands on this paper, or if lost in post,.. then dangerous.

It is a standard letter that have been issued for years. the thing is MBB should at least make us call to activate the card and after verification then only the card can be use, but this is not the case. If you collect it at the branch, then the officer will make you sign on the form.

In the Product Disclosure Sheet it is already mentioned that the GST of M2Amex is waived by the bank.

But M2 Visa will still be charged with GST. So don't get too excited.

Yes, that happen to your AMEX account transaction history.
If you check your VISA / MASTER transaction history, the ST was charged.

hi i am new to credit cards and kinda interested in this maybank2card .
1. may i know if AMEX card is widely usable or its use is fairly limited? (supermarket, restaraunt etc). Can we check where is this card accepted?

2. While alot of ppl said that Mastercard or visa card is a matter of preference, any one of you mind to share which might be better to get?

3. As far as i know we can do withdrawal with credit card via ATM, can we ask the bank to disable this or reduce the limits?(incase if being held at knife point can reduce the money lost from withdrawal using credit card)

if you can qualify for the MBB 2, just apply for it. If AMex cannot be used, you still got the Visa or MC. If you are in KL and do shop during the Mega Sale and year end festivals, MC do have promotion. Click below link to read my review on MBB Dua.

I have already read that entry, that is why i am thinking of getting MBB2 after reading your review. your blog have been helpful for ppl new to credit card like me smile.gif i think i meet the requirement for the MBB2 Gold ,but so far i only have 1 payslip since i just started working. So MC is better since it got promotion?if so,than i will wait till the MBB2 MC is available before applying.

about the supp card for MBB2, will it be 2 supp cards or will it be only one(either AMEX or Visa/MC)? and how much to pay for GST for supp card rm25 for 2?or rm25x2 =rm50 for 2? i am thinking of getting supp card for my parent since they do most of the grocery shopping, can earn more points tongue.gif .

Supplementary cards of Maybankard 2 come as a pair of amex+visa/mc as well, however, you need to bear RM25 for EACH card, ie. RM50 for the pair.
No, you can't apply for only Amex supp card. It must come along with either a VISA or Mastercard.

I'm afraid one month's payslip is not likely to make application successful. Maybe you should apply at a later time when you have three months payslip.

In the product disclosure, it is stated that"
QUOTE
Overseas transaction conversion fee for Maybankard 2 American Express Cards: Conversion factor of 2.5% to the converted amount. A charge that is made in foreign currencies other than U.S. Dollars will, when the conversion is done by American Express, be converted into U.S. Dollars before being converted into your billing currency.

when you guys mentioned the conversion rate for the other cards, is the 2.5% interest already taken into factor? I wonder if all cards imposed this conversion fee? hmm.gif

Yes. The admin fee charged for transactions done in foreign currency vary from bank to bank. Please refer to the general Credit Card thread for the detailed list of foreign transaction admin fee imposed by each bank.

I had tried fax my payslip and other bank's CC to ask for Maybank2 CL increase.
It got rejected. Reason is new card. They will not increase CL for a new card. Mean you cant increase now.

Yes, u r rite. Only after 1 year u used the new card then only can request for increase limit with attach ur payslip.

but my limit increase twice within 1 month, haha drool.gif

last year, only give me 5k limit for visa gold, then last month i applied for platinum dual card, but they only give me GOLD and i request for increase limit, at the end the give me 7k limit.
but few weeks ago, i received the mail from Pre-selected customer, offered me to apply dual card platinum (don know wth they doing, as i applied for Platinum dual card last month, but they give me GOLD, but once i get the Gold card, offer me platinum shakehead.gif ), after i accepted the offer last week, today saw M2U get it already GOLD and Platinum rclxub.gif and limit increase to 15K rclxm9.gif

If you read earlier post, beyond mentioned his card was approved since Feb 7th but he wasn't aware of it. So it has been more than a month since the card have been approved. that's why I asked him if he has collected his card.
Talking about email, click here to see a fake email I received recently claiming to be from M2U.

Currently no more maybank amex promotion for Autopay.
Syabas not in maybank listing, so cannot enroll.
Give 5x point using amex.

A few forummers here use M2Amex to book air tickets and hotel rooms online, and they did get cashback.

MBB2 AMEX gives 5 TP, MBB2 V/MC gives 1 TP, can be combined. This is confirmed.
As for the above mentioned MR point, meaning for every RM1, MBB2 AMEX gives us 5 TP + 200 MR?

just had a chat with amex and they mention, that all cards will receive 10k tp if you actively use either the amex or visa card.
the tp will appear in the visa side, and tax will be charged 1 month after the activation of card.

I am having Maybankard 2 Cards GOLD. How can i upgrade it to Platinum? Does Maybank allow me to pledge FD for CC upgrade? How much FD do i need to put in?
*
sometime i really don know how MBB system work. As i see some of ppl said MBB will give u card & limit based on the FD u placement in MBB.

but....i had FD in MBB also, but last month, i applied for platinum even attached with payslip, stated down my FD Account, but at the end also give me gold rclxub.gif
before that i already have VISA Petronas Gold and AMEX GOLD, with combine limit only RM5k shakehead.gif , i even ask for increase limit, but at the end give me up to RM7k limit only. if u said that limit given is based on how much FD u have, then my FD amount actually can buy 1 new myVi car, but how come only give me 7k limit? sweat.gif so i really don know how the give the limit to customer.

having FD with MBB and pledging FD is different. Once you pledge FD, you cannot withdraw it as you like.

you can go direct to Telcos and do auto-debit without gong thru AMEX. Call Astro too and ask, did mine for OCBC thru phone.

I can view my Maybankard 2 card account in Maybank2U now. I am a bit confused, the Total Credit Limit of my Gold Card is RM10K and the Total Credit Limit of the American Express Card is also RM10K. So, in Total my Credit Limit is RM20K? or RM10K is the combined limit for both cards?

It's combined. So it means that you credit limit for your Maybankard 2 AMEX & VISA is RM10,000 only.

why would you want a 40K limit??

You can always pre-pay the card. Its like putting money into debit card. it works by credit limit+pre pay amount.
Just go to atm machine with your atm card, select payment....bla bla bla....card number...ok

how come I never get 10k TP for GST. I was invited too. Now waiting for my platinum invitation.

Ronnie,

Why the amex 5% weekend rebate was not shown in my maybank2u account? Are they giving the rebate on the statement date?

Infact, my amex just 4385, while m2card only 913, total = 5298

since you already have M2U account, the job is much easier.
Just go to any branch, tell them you want to link your M2 cards.
Please prepare a photocopy of your NRIC and M2 cards for bank's procedure.

There's something i need to tell you guys about this Maybank 2 cards.
For principal cardholders, you only need to pay one(1) GST which is RM50 for both cards and for your Supplementary cardholders, he/she will need to pay two(2) GST which is RM50 for both cards.

Well, it is worth it if the person having the supp cards cannot qualify for Principal Cards himself/herself.

For my case, not worth it since my wife got both her own Principal cards and Supp cards. Received the 4 cards on the same day doh.gif Click here to read my wife's application for Maybankard 2 . But I not cancelling her supp cards because of the 5X TP and when she don't want me to know what she buys, she uses her own card, haha

also, since i've just got my cards and today is 25th edi, do i still get rm50 cap for the remaining month assuming the end date is end of the month

Yes, credit limit is shared between all three cards.
The cards are pre-activated so if you use the Visa only, you are bound to pay the gst already.

since rm50 cap for rebate is given for each month, may i know when is the start date n end date of the month.

also, since i've just got my cards and today is 25th edi, do i still get rm50 cap for the remaining month assuming the end date is end of the month
*
It follows the calendar date; meaning beginning at 1st and ends at 30th/31st/28th (for February).

I got my card on the 24th of last month and used it immediately. Got the rebate for my transactions at the end of the month so I guess the RM50 cap runs from 1st until end of the month.

MBB Visa/Mastercard cards are useful for overseas spending because of competitive forex rates.

So that one can keep the money in the account to keep earning interest.

All Shell stations accept AMEX, both at the kiosk and over the counter.

Yes. You can say it like that but then, many places do not accept AMEX. You definitely have to use your MBB2 VISA someday, unless you have other VISA/MasterCard from other banks.

By the way, remember to always use the MBB2 VISA when you're overseas or whenever you buy something online and have to pay in foreign currency. Maybank VISA/MasterCard has the lowest admin fee and exchange rate of all the banks in Malaysia.

both still high. If you really doing cash advance, better check with CS if you still enjoy 20 days interest free period from statement date i.e. new and old transactions subjected to interest charges once you do cash advance AND after checking with CS please report back here to share.

So you have 26 & 27 March to finish the weekend rebate RM50 entitled for March 2011.
Come 1 April 2011, you get another RM50 rebate.

Maybe someone should put in a schedule for 2011 that transactions using the AMEX on this dates are entitled to 5% Weekend Rebates

Spend in March 2011 - 5,6,12,13,19,20,26,27 : Rebate paid out on 1 April 2011
Spend in April 2011 - 2,3,9,10,16,17,23,24,30 : Rebate paid out on 1 May 2011
Spend in May 2011 - 1,7,8,14,15,21,22,28,29: Rebate paid out on 1 June 2011

Not for Maybankard2 AMEX's Weekend Rebate...
Valid transaction from the 1st Saturday of the month and ends on the last Sunday of the month.
Rebate creditted on the 1st of next month.

Amex with Maybankard logo earns Treats Points.
Amex without Maybankard logo earns Member Rewards Points.
Both systems use separate redemption catalogue.

so which is more 'lucrative' then in terms of monetary value? TP or MR?

from here, it is stipulate that for every 200 MR points = RM1.

Yes, only MR points can be redeemed for CASH.
However, Treats Point is more useful when it comes to TREATS FAIR, where cardmembers can redeem items on the spot using much-lower-than-usual Treats Points.

hi, need advice here

wanna ask about the maybank credit card payment

on the maybank2u website, 2 statement appear.
Statement balance and outstanding balance , where OutBal >= StaBal

If I only settle the statement balance in FULL before due date, will there be any interest charge ? Or do I need to settle all the outstanding balance ?

What about 20 days interest-free period, do maybank implement this and how is it being calculated ?
Interest free period is based on purchase date or statement posting date ?

From M2U Statement Balance is amount owing as of Statement Date.
Outstanding Balance includes amount transacted after the Statement Date.

Yes, make sure you settle in FULL the Statement Balance before due date to avoid penalty and interest charges.. You don't have to settle the Outstanding Amount before the due date.

20 days interest free period is the time frame between Statement Date and Due Date. Example, Statement Date on the 10th every month and therefore Due Date is on 30th every month.

Once you get your paper statement, it will be clearer to you.

Since you are new to CC, I suggest you read my article written back in 2009 titled Intro to CC. Some info outdated especially regarding to a particular card but basics are still applicable. Also read the link at the bottom of the post on Annual Income and Credit Limit.

'morning everyone,

Great thread on the credit cards rclxms.gif been following it for some time and Gen-X's blog before I decided to apply my first credit card.

If it's ok, I would like to ask for some advice regarding the security of credit cards.

My first try of application is for HSBC Amanah credit card. After two weeks I called the CS to enquire about the application status. The CS said that the application card has been denied. I asked the CS if there'll be any emails to inform that the application has been denied as proof. The CS replied no, there won't be any emails to notify me about that. Is it necessary for me to request for an email to state that or I'm just being over-worried?

My second application is for MBB2 Gold cards. Checked my system frequently, and it has just been approved yesterday smile.gif
I will be collecting it at a branch. About the collection method, I have heard of differing opinions. Some said it is not safe to collect it from the banks, while some says it otherwise. Besides, if we collect it from the banks, how do we know if the card has not been tampered with?

Previously I read it somewhere in one of the threads, it seems that we also need to sign and write the 3 digit code at a form? Would that expose the credit card security features? If the cards were posted, then there's no hassle of filling up the form and returning it. So, when collecting it at the branch, can we just not sign the form? tongue.gif

Thank you~

haha, you kiasu fellow just like me. Don't worry too much, just go collect the card at the branch and you'll be required to sign on the acknowledgement form that comes together with the card in front of the officer, SOP for all banks . Yes, I have. I like the idea that we can use the picture to easily identify whether we are logging in to the correct site or a phishing site. It's good.

QUOTE(fuu @ Mar 27 2011, 09:40 AM)

So, when collecting it at the branch, can we just not sign the form?  tongue.gif

Thank you~

i feel it's safer to collect from the bank.
I don't recall needing to provide the CVV upon collection of the cards. Only signature was required. Besides, they open the letter in front of me.

If you explore yourself properly, you can only use your Visa to pay TM bill in M2U. There's no way for you to choose AMEX.

I'm not so sure if that could be successful but I have saved TM Bill as my favourite payee.

When I make a payment under "Make a payment to a favourite", there's no MBB2 AMEX available.

Only MBB Visa Petroans, MBB2 Visa and my saving account to select from.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Don't worry too much, just go collect the card at the branch and you'll be required to sign on the acknowledgement form that comes together with the card in front of the officer, SOP for all banks . And thank you for reading my blog. And since you are there, might as well sign up for online and MBB just introduce some new security features for their M2U.

Passby TMpoint at Plaza Angsana JB few weeks ago and found out from them that I can pay TM bills using Amex. Yesterday went there to pay the bills using MBB2Amex but terminal would not accept it so have to use OCBC TI instead. According to the staffs they have previous accepted payment using AMEX card. What a letdown.

I think there is an issue between AMEX n Petronas not that the pump can support it. What I assume is the merchant fee or chargeback (dispute/fraud cases), may be only not sure.

If MBB really want to boost the revenue of Amex (we can see the intention from the launching of Maybankard 2), hopefully MBB can utilize its influence to help Amex offer even better merchant program than Visa/MC. I don't really understand how this merchant program works, but this is just my wish.

Should Amex continue to sacrifice revenue due to high merchant fee? I think this will require discussion in Amex (USA)? hmm.gif

How i wish also, but i can tell you it a Branding Image issue, if they lower the fee they cant hold their prestiges image, beside AMEX card is known as up market card. so it a chicken and egg thingy, where you want $$$ = lower the fee. Keep the Brand image = lower $$$ but give better customer experience.

Dont forget AMEX have platinum & centurion charge card customer also. you know what i mean.

dont u guys think they should actually implement the rebate system such tat we r allowed to get rm600 of rebate a yr rather than capping it at rm50 a month.
by allowing rm600 a yr of rebate, tat would encourage ppl to spend more rather than limiting to just getting rm50 a mth.

I think this is no good to the bank's cash flow.
Imagine 100,000 M2Amex cardmembers spend RM12,000 in first month, MBB will need to pay out RM60,000,000 in one shot sweat.gif

well allowing rm600 rebate a yr doesnt mean they have to pay everything one shot.
wat i mean is we r not tied to spending due to the rebate policy but they can always pay the rebate rm50 monthly.

i dun mind tat compared to having to plan every month on wat to buy and wat not.
one can also easily get few months worth of rebate in a single purchase like buying a laptop, an iphone or any electronic stuff for tat matter.

Bank gives out CC rebates to entice you to spend more and hopefully, fall into debt....

Only smart shoppers will think on how much spending to reach the cap.
I keep an Excel to track each card's usage in order not to overspend or or exceed the monthly rebate cap.
This makes us more discipline in using CC.

Checked Maybank2U and both account VISA and AMEX appeared.

So it takes about 2 weeks since application on 14th March..

I will have to collect the cards myself at the bank.
- Is there anything I should look out for?
- I read somewhere in this thread regarding registration for online transaction? what is that? M2U?

Check your name on the Credit Card matches your name. Sign at the back ASAP.
Maybe get the PIN for the CC
Since you already uses M2U, nothing to do for online registration.

@shado: You can use your CC to withdraw CASH BUT it's cash advance, high interest. You don't need the TAC as you have an pre-exisiting M2U account. TAC is required for customers without M2U logon

Got a credit limit increase recently i think, didnt notice it no SMS no Letter, nothing jsut login to M2U and notice the change. Btw not my card my wife one.

No wonder the new guideline say if banks need to increase the credit limit they need to get the customer to agreed 1st.

Pardon me if this question has been asked before. I am planning to buy a Dell notebook at (physical) Dell store with my MBB2 AMEX. Anybody bought it before with your AMEX?

is it RM2K combines or RM4K? Your credit limit is not separated for each card.

has anyone tried paying in MYR with AMEX via Paypal before? I tried to make payment with Paypal with my Maybank2 AMEX card but Paypal gave an error saying that payment in MYR currently not accepted.

If it really is the case, making payment for Maxis bill via Paypal might not work as well. sad.gif

i received a pre-approved Maybank 2 Cards (Gold) letter last month. However, I threw away the letter. Was that the invitation that would entitle me for the 10K TP for GST redemption? If it really was doh.gif

Cause now planning to get another card that could earn me rewards points as planning to spend big this year. Only have OCBC Ti with me now.

Just wanna share.
When I called MBB to activate my M2 card the CS told me (after the usual verification of course) that my card is ready for use, but for online purchase I'd have to register at Maybank2U.
Didn't bother telling her that she's wrong though. tongue.gif

is there any other bank than can give a good CL since Im going to let my wife be supplementary user. she study phd and always travel overseas for conference and seminars. because she is student and dont have ea form and epf, so its really hard for her to get her own credit card. currently im using aeon (cl:4k) and mbb petronas alikhwan (cl:5k).

As long as the card is activated and you have sufficient balance you can start swiping.
It is best to inform the bank that you're going overseas; tell the bank the travel period and all.

Let me just copypaste what hye said laugh.gif

QUOTE
I figured that you have yet to encounter problems while travelling overseas. Several situations may arise namely
1. The bank flag your transaction as fraudulent thus your current transaction is blocked (the one that you are currently trying pay). Or in a more complicated scenario, the bank locks your account and you can't use your card until the bank successfully verifies you.
2. You are travelling to multiple countries ... you are successful in using your card in one and the next country your card get locks up because it looks suspicious in their system. This risk intensifies when you are travelling between regions.
3. Encounter problems with the foreign cc terminal. You can't use your card and you have no idea what's going on despite that you are sure you have enough CL to cover your expenses.
4. You need emergency cash and cannot execute cash withdrawal despite the terminal show Cirrus and/or Plus sign. Going to multiple ATMs does not help and you are scrambling to get cash. It worsens when it is the weekend, so you can't exactly walk into the foreign bank and use your passport to withdraw cash.
5. Bank tries to call you ... you cannot be called while overseas for multiple reasons - time zone difference so you are sleeping, the call did not come through or your mobile does not have roaming capability. You need to bear the roaming charges which can be a bomb since the bank will need to verify you before doing anything else and they work slowly as they think you are still in Malaysia. Let's face it, roaming are not necessarily very reliable. There are countries which the roaming system are absolutely problematic. Worst still, there are CS who does not understand the time difference factor and thinks the world is still in the local time.

To avoid problems, common practice or not ... just call the bank. The phone call is a whole lot cheaper and practical then needing to go through all sort of mess if you encounter problems. At the least, the bank knows you are currently overseas and if they (really) need to call you, they will hurry through the call and call you only if necessary.

I'm speaking from experience. There are times I called the bank and there are times I took it for granted and just forgo that call. Unfortunately disaster strikes when I forgo that call.

That's Maybank. Advise you to go to the card center personally. The CS there is way way better - but that was few years back and it was at 1U. Maybe it's because face-to-face instead of via the phone.

this is disappointing.
Don't know who should be responsible for this error, Maxis or Paypal or Amex?

yay! finally got my MBB2Card Gold rclxms.gif

I will try it this Saturday.

By the way, I just noticed that for MBB2Card Amex, there is a 4 digit number on top of the American Express logo in front. What is that number for? It is not the security number, isn't it?
And at the back of it, the full CC number is written at the back, together with the 3 digit security number. Does it mean that if once a person copied that number at the back, they'll be able to make transaction using your credit card (without the physical credit card?)

As for the MBB2Card Visa, there is also a 4 digit number on top of the 'member since' in the front. Does anyone know what number is this?

Also, I asked the CS how to register for the e-statement as I do not want paper statement (which is by default option). She asked me to register it through M2U. I tried checking under 'Statements' and 'Bills & Credit cards', but couldn't find it. Anyone have registered for the e-statement option before?

Appreciate your replies smile.gif Thank you.

It's the 4-digit number that you need to key in if you perform an online payment using AMEX. The 3-digit number at the back has no useful purpose as far as I know up to know.

In order to link, you must bring along your ATM card. Since you're linking MBB2 AMEX to your M2U, why don't MBB2 Visa at the same time? sweat.gif

I feel M2 Amex is a good card for overseas usage during weekend provided the merchant accept Amex as I did my own calculation, even with its high charges for overseas transaction, we can still "earn" some rebates after offsetting overseas charges with 5% rebate and 5X TP.

*provided if RM50 rebate quota has not been hit yet...

Correct me if my calculation is wrong.

I never encountered the problem of being blocked on the 4th time swiping my AMEX at a petrol station. But I did try it after the 10th time, a customer service called me on the spot to verify if I am the one doing the transaction.

I do notice that on weekends, the Maybankard2 AMEX need to go thru the EDC terminal a few times before getting approval.
Failed twice at Starbucks and Maxis Centre.. Just asked to retry until approved.

And I hate the response message when EDC returns an error "CARD DECLINED" mad.gif

Nothing special about the Visa.

It's just another backup CC if you already own an existing VISA.

I never encountered the problem of being blocked on the 4th time swiping my AMEX at a petrol station. But I did try it after the 10th time, a customer service called me on the spot to verify if I am the one doing the transaction.
*
Apparently my whole card is blocked since yesterday. Called up CS to unblock. Reason being, they need to verify a few petrol transactions which I made

1) NO, you can have as many MBB cards you wish.
2) No, just download the application form for Maybnakrd 2 Cards and fax to Maybank. You can even call Customer Service to Apply.
3) AMEX is a must, you get to choose between Visa or MC.

If you had read the 1st post, I gave a link to my article on Maybankard 2 Cards. In this article, it was mentioned how you can apply for MBB 2 cards i.e. by phone, email and fax. In the same article I also gave a link where you can download Maybankard 2 Cards application form where all you need is to fill your IC, name and existing cards. Fax the form to Maybank, that's all. Please also read first post on ways to apply for the Maybankard 2 Cards. Once again, link to my post below:

http://creditcardsmalaysia.blogspot.com/20...an-express.html

Having said the above, I just noted couple days ago, all MBB credit cards in their website NOW states minimum income to get MBB card is RM30,000 per year. So if you applied for your existing classic card last time and your salary was less than RM24K then, and if MBB now approved your Maybankard 2 Cards application now, please report here and share with us the outcome.

Ya, if can't use amex, then oni use visa/master.
For autopay, u can use AMEX such as TNB or TM.

i think it's been mentioned many times the auto debit promotion has ended.
read the note at the bottom. offer valids until 15 march.

btw, has anyone cancelled their existing card and transfer the treatpoints to the new mbb2cards? i did the cancellation to my old visa gold but the card is still shown on my mb2u and treat points are currently zero and it looks like they have yet to add the tp into my new cards.

From previous campaign, you need to send SMS for registration. After, you have to spend at merchants at participating malls to get it. The cash back takes time to be processed and not as fast as the current 5% cash back which will be credited at the early of next month. Usually, one to two months after the month of swipe.

From the other AMEX thread, some forumer did complain that they haven't receive cash back yet. Seems like the recently concluded campaign has some technical glitches.

MBB2 AMex is known as Maybankard 2 American Express Credit Card...
So the promotion must state either "Maybankard" or "American Express Credit Card" to be eligible.

American Express Charge Card promo/offers are different....

@aeronlim,
In order for U to be eligible for the 15% cashback, U will need to spend the $ in the selected malls. U won't get the cashback if Ur making online purchases or making purchases from non-participating malls.

I email to m2u and this the reply:
Sorry. I'm confused now. Were you talking about the special rebate given by Paypal ? 'cause i think there was such promotion (someone posted it) but expired already. But if you were talking about the usual 5% rebate given by Maybank to your MBB2 AMEX for spendings during the weekends, then yeah. You'll get the 5x TP + 5% rebate (assume you've not hit your monthly RM50 quota).

No activation required.... just start swiping the CC.... Maybank CC don't send the PIN by mailer. You need to go to your nearest MBB branch to get the PIN

Hi, is MBB2 AMEX eligible for Express Autopay facility as attached (to enjoy the 5x TP):

http://www.maybank2u.com.my/WebBank/autopa...lment300810.pdf

Will Maybank notify us when payment are made to the selected service providers, so that we know the bills are settled before due.

Thanks

Yes, eligible.
No, you gotta check with your service providers. For example, TNB e-services, TM Online etc.
If you "tunggak" TNB bills for 1 month or so, you'll receive red letter, so you won't miss payment biggrin.gif
The most licik one is Astro. Once late payment, straight away POTONG. Want reconnect? Pay the penalty fee first.
