When I receive the card, the instruction says I have to acknowledge receipt & sign on the paper and return it to Maybank. Can I just ignore this?

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Mar 19 2011, 12:44 PM) Just ignore it and go use your cardsĀ Cool. Maybank shouldn't ask people to sign and return the paper. Because it contains so much personal information... card number, expiry, name, IC No..and signature. If somebody get their hands on this paper, or if lost in post,.. then dangerous. Amex free GST, but Visa charge RM50. So... if I don't activate my Visa card, will the RM50 be waived?

Has anybody tried using MBB2 Amex for online shopping during weekends? Do you still get 5% rebate for online shopping or online payment? I was told by the agent that online payment is not eligible for 5% rebate.

QUOTE(chemistry @ Mar 25 2011, 02:45 PM) A few forummers here book hotel room and air tickets using M2Amex on weekends, they did get 5% cashback. Hence you were misinformed by the agent. Thanks for letting me know

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Apr 13 2011, 05:42 PM) The date you swipe your card. How about this? Happened to me when I checked the statement this morning. I swiped my card to pay hotel bill on 8th Apr. Checked my statement "Transaction date 10th Apr, Posting date 12th Apr". So... is it considered 8th or 10th? Cos 8th is Friday, 10th is Sunday. Maybe the hotel staff good to me, transact on Sunday, let me earn 5% rebate. Another question... i know has been asked many times. Sorry I have to ask again. Do the rebates follow the statement month, or follow the calendar month?

QUOTE(chemistry @ Apr 13 2011, 08:53 PM) did you check in on Friday then check out on Sunday? QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Apr 13 2011, 09:35 PM) It will follow the transaction date. And hotel usually will only bill your credit card on the day you check-out. I swiped and checked out on Friday. Dunno why the transaction date is Sunday.

If I have 20,000 TP, can I select 2 times principal service charge waiver? Will MBB credit RM100 (because i redeem 2 times) to my card or just RM50 (because there's only 1 service tax) Is this the only way to redeem points to cash?

QUOTE(ronnie @ Apr 15 2011, 09:21 PM) @simplesmile: Maybank's GST comes later not necessary on 1st statement like most banks. Really? Why? In this hightech computerised world, still cannot get the GST to be automatically billed in the first statement? Malaysia Boleh!!

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Apr 15 2011, 11:42 PM) You'll be charged eventually. I've received my third MBB2 statement and have not been charged to date. Expect to see the credit card tax to be charged to my account in the next statement, or may be the one after.
Maybe delay until the 13th statement.

Tomorrow (Saturday) I plan to pay with MBB2 Amex for a purchase I make. This person will deliver to my house, and I pay by credit card on the spot. He will use his manual credit card machine to get the imprint of my card. Will my transaction be classified as Weekend transaction? Or until when the office decides to submit these during weekdays? is this considered retail transaction? can get 5% rebate?

QUOTE(chemistry @ Apr 23 2011, 11:47 AM) Install a personal finance application in your mobile phone so that you can jot down the expenses and details everytime you spend or swipe cc. For better monitoring, I use a spreadsheet to record trxn of OCBC titanium and M2 Amex which cashback is capped at RM50. When the amount approaches RM1,000, I'll be cautious. What app do you use? Maybe we can have a thread dedicated to "tracking or recording spending on credit card"

QUOTE(ronnie @ Apr 23 2011, 01:39 PM) Maybank just took back the 5000 TreatsPoints.... What the hell? On what grounds? It's 5XTP everyday. So,.. if you've made the transaction, then you are entitled to it. Erm.... you sure you didn't redeem anything? 5,000 points is a nice round figure, could have been deduction for redemption? QUOTE(David83 @ Apr 23 2011, 10:57 PM) It's a print out from the e-pay terminal. The print out is like CC receipt. You can reload as little as RM 10 as the e-pay terminal allows. I bought Hotlink RM 10 and Happy RM 10 reload before. You do not need to reload of the spot. Do you know when's the expiry of the codes printed from the e-pay terminal? Does it state on the printout? Just wondering, because those codes on the Coupon or top up card, has the expiry stated on it.
