Alliance Premium debit card a privilege debit card, but it is less “premium” compared to Alliance Platinum debit card in terms of airport lounge access.

Gen-X, you need to edit your posting on Alliance Bank debit card as per my clarification above. It is not UNLIMITED access to LCCT Plaza Premium Lounge. There is a free entry pool of 50 times per month.

I was at LCCT early this week and enter it with my Alliance Premier Debit Card, but the guy didn't inform me on the quota. And as winner mentioned in CC V15 thread, the guy told me Alliance Platinum CC cannot enter the LCCT Plaza Premium Lounge UOB Preferred Platinum Quota habis on last Tuesday but those with UOB Preferred Platinum with Privilege Banking can enter as there is no quota for them. Saw your post while on holiday, just came back and family all tired so didn't go reconfirm with Plaza Premium Lounge on Alliance Premier Debit Card quota.

yeahh, do you mind checking with Plaza Premium Lounge on quota for Alliance Platinum Credit Card, Alliance Platinum Debit Card and Alliance Premier Debit Card.

I've been to the KLIA many times,.... but still I don't know what is Airport Lounge? What's so special in there?

Basically for me is that the chairs are more comfy and you get free drinks.

If you ask me, maybe KLIA not that important as there are many shops there and can go waste time looking at stuff. But if you do frequent LCCT, then the Plaza Premium Lounge is more comfortable and peaceful as LCCT is like a market.

I checked your table, and seems like none of my cards have free access to the KLIA or LCCT lounge.

LCCT Plaza Premium Lounge is too tiny and not so comfortable to be stayed long.

For me, access to airport lounges worldwide is more important especially during the long transit time.

Last time I have SCB VI which gave me priority pass to enter airport lounges in overseas. Now my DA VI gives me 2 passes per year, for entering any MAS Golden Lounges in Malaysia and overseas each.


I have exactly the same combination as yours. But I added Alliance Platinum debit card (limited to 50 entries per month for both KLIA and LCCT Plaza Premium Lounges) and DA VI (free 2 passes upon card approval) for airport lounge access purpose.

DA VI give you 2 yearly passes per year? Any conditions? I thought they only give you once and that's it.

The condition is similar to CIMB VS, whereby you need to spend RM100,000 per annum in order to get another 2 passes in the following year. The only different is that, CIMB/DA VI gives 1x free access to any MAS Golden Lounges in Malaysia and 1x free entry to any MAS Golden Lounges in overseas, while CIMB VS gives 2x complimentary entries to Plaza Premium Lounge located in KLIA, LCCT or Changi Airport.

Well, that's is indeed news to me because as far as I know, DAVI do give 2 lounge access as welcome gift (which I received them too in 2009) and there is no where stipulating that they will "renew" the passes if you spend any amount. Are you into the second year already and if yes did you get the free pass as mentioned by you? Someone in my blog did mentioned also that he has checked with DA CS and the passes is a one time thingy.

1)Alliance Platinum Credit Card, - unlimited access in KLIA only.

actually if u're a frequent traveller using one particular airline u can USUALLY go into the premium lounge for free if ure like at least a silver card member of a particular airline

KLIA premium plaza lounge only accessible for international passengers.

LCCT should be for both domestic and international right?

I've yet to get a reply from MBB for my application for AMEX Platinum credit card. So far i think that's the BEST card for free access to premium lounges. thats just my opinion. the only drawback is that it does not have any cashback options. much like the AMEX gold credit card which i currently have. will probably cancel the gold one IF i get this platinum one

As long as your card can enter, they don't care. No need show boarding pass also.

Platinum CC do have "cash back" when you redeem 200MR points = RM1. With Amex's Amex minimum 2X MR for whatever transaction, it works out to be 1% cash back. Also you get 10X MR with certain merchants with Amex Plat CC and if not mistaken petrol and groceries also 5X.

I wondered if there is a lot of difference between KLIA Plaza Premium & MAS Golden lounges?

I have never entered the MAS Lounge at KLIA. I would think MAS lounges would be nicer since it is for their business and 1st class passengers.

MAS lounge is nicer but too bad they dont accept economy class passenger like me ... no walk in allowed... so Plaza is my only choice beside all the other restaurant...

The difference is worlds apart. MAS Golden Lounge is so much nicer especially the newly renovated lounge located in the Main Terminal Building. It is dubbed the Regional Golden Lounge with Rimba theme


They do accept walk-in Economy Class passengers ... if you have the right frequent flyer card with the right status

You only need to attain Enrich Silver & above, then join their Golden lounge access programme. But of course, one need to pay for it though.

so far my bosses have a silver card for the SIA loyalty programme. that one can give u access to lounges + 1 free member

enrich im not sure as ive been a normal blue member since 6 years ago. quite sad.

Nope, you got to upgrade to Premier Miles or "real" Platinum

No. Citi CB Platinum would not give you any lounge membership but only the Premier Miles Card does provides you Priority Pass membership. However Priority Pass membership generally does not give you access to airline lounges owned by the airline. Only 3rd party lounges such as Plaza Premium in KLIA or Louis Tavern CIP in BKK.

I stand corrected. Citi Premier miles with priority pass also don't get access to Golden Lounge only Plaza Premium Lounge. After I read your post only I realized that teikwing was referring to Golden Lounge.

by the way hye, Citi Plat Cash Back can enter KLIA Plaza Premium Lounge with Direct Access membership? What is Direct Access membership?

Made a mistake myself ... now I know why I felt funny after pressing the submit button. First mistake - I meant Priority Pass membership and not Direct Access.

Second correction - Citi Plat CB doesn't give you any lounge access. You will need to apply for the PremierMiles CB card. Upon approval of the card, the application form for the Priority Pass will be there. Membership is free and you will given 2 complimentary visits using the Priority Pass.

Entry using the PremierMiles card to the KLIA lounge is 12 visit per year.

The regular Citibank Platinum card also entitles you 12 free visits to the Plaza Premium Lounge at KLIA satellite terminal.

Any credit card can access to MAS Golden lounges?

Sorry Gen-X, just realized that I didn't read the first post myself.
MBB WMC does not qualify you to the MAS lounge automatically as there are 2 membership tiers. One with the lounge access and the other without. And of course one need to subscribe to the lounge access membership and pay the full amount to get the MAS lounge access.

Still with the lounge access, you still need to wait for them to upgrade your Enrich card to Silver. It is the Enrich card that brings you into the lounge, the WMC will get you now where even though you show it to them.

As for access to international lounge ... well I will put a caveat to that. You see MAS does not have lounges all over the world - (to my best knowledge), they only have lounges in Malaysia, Singapore and United Kingdom. The rest of the world are covered via partner lounges. Problem is that access to the partner lounge require you to have the "invite" / business class boarding pass for MAS flights. I have asked a MAS staff before on this subject and the use on the Enrich card will only give you access to the MAS lounge but not the partner lounges.

So ... hope someone out there can correct me on my understanding on MAS lounges.
Still the food quality and facilities are far better in MAS lounge than inside the Plaza Premium lounge. So it is quite worthwhile to gain entry to the lounge if you fly often on MAS economy flights. (No point if you are on business since you have the ticket to enter the lounge)

Food quality over in KLIA Plaza Premium Lounge have improved slightly but just a few months ago, I specifically avoided eating the sandwiches because they always taste funny and my stomach will always feel funny as well. The noodles are always extremely salty back then as well.

* My recent trip was about 2 weeks back and the previous one was about 3-4 months back.

Mas Golden Lounge is for business people and those who are filthy rich. Me only want to enter Plaza Premium Lounge for FREE when flying with budget airlines, hahaha

err sorry guys. typo as what i meant was Premium Lounge. didn't know there are 2 separate lounge in KLIA as i have only been to the MAS Golden Lounge.

Just got to know that PremierMiles cardholder entitled a free access to Plaza Premium Lounge in LCCT... that sound good rite??

Can i ask a question? All type of Plat Credit card is going to enter the same Lounge at KLIA, which is the Plaza Premium Lounge?
So all different bank of Plat card are going to meet each other at same place?

A simple answer is Yes. However to enter the lounge, you need not necessarily be a Plat card holder.
So long you are willing to pay for the charges then you can enter the lounge. Often (it happens right in front of me), when people ask about bringing their partner/wife/gf/whoever and learnt about the charges - they turn back coz they want it for free and not wanting to pay for it. (Me too if I do ever have someone to bring along with me )

you 100% can enter but if your friend UOB is normal Preferred Plat (non Privilege Banking) then maybe he won't be able to get in as there is a quota of 400 monthly for UOB Plats. Both times I at KLIA and LCCT, UOB Preferred Plat quota habis and it was only middle of the month.

erm, i think shd be ok... we travel on 2nd of April. Don't tell me 2nd day of the month, the quota habis?? Then really zzz

Hard to say ... it all depends on how many cardholders are travelling around during that period. If unlucky ... quota finish then nothing much can do.

sad to say i cant seem to be able to find ANY access to international lounges for AMEX platinum credit card.

it seems to mention that benefit for AMEX platinum CHARGE card aka The Platinum Card® which seems to have a requirement of RM190,000 min annual income

It is not that tough to get the AMEX Plat charge card these days since MBB AMEX department is constantly offering pre-approved on such premium cards. The only main concern should be the hefty annual fees.

Annual fee:
RM2380

Minimum annual income:
RM190,000

hefty annual fees SHOULDN'T be a problem ....... IF (a very BIG if) you probably spend alot on the card and make prompt payments. they SHOULD waive it if u request. but not sure whether i can spend that much on so many credit cards.

The AMEX Plat charge card is notorious for not waiving annual fees unless you are a high spender of over RM 100k annually (quoted from MBB AMEX dept officer who offer me the pre-approved card). Same goes with the MBB WMC.

Maybe any members here managed to get it waived at a much lower spending annually can share with us.

Besides Plaza Premium at Malaysia, Hong Kong having Plaza Premium as well, anyone know what credit card can enter HK Plaza Premium for free?

According to the Maybank website regarding Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer American Express® Gold Credit Card, it says that "Present your Card for complimentary access to the Plaza Premium Lounge". It does not restrict to KLIA or LCCT or what. As long it is a Plaza Premium Lounge, cardmembers can enter.

Please see Product Disclosure Sheet for more details. In the PDS also no mentioning about restrictions to Plaza Premium Lounge.

Anyway, at KLIA it is located at the Mezzanine Floor of the Satellite Building.

no wonder,I always has domestic flight only. whenever has international flight always on rush.

There's several MAS lounge. If I'm not mistaken there's 3. 2 itself is located on the main airport building (top and lower floor) and the 3rd one located @ the satellite building. The KLIA Plaza Premier Lounge is located @ the satellite building on the same floor as the MAS lounge ... around 80 meters apart.

What benefits if I enter the lounge?

I guess I was confused by the CS officer in Pavilion when I received my DA VI there last year. The girl told me that the free vouchers are renewable on a yearly basis.

I called DA CS just now and was informed that the MAS Golden Lounge vouchers are only given to new VI cardholders. There will be no more free vouchers for second year onwards regardless of how much you spend.

CIMB/DA VI is worse than CIMB VS!

just needed some clarification. after reading all the posts and the blog by Gen-x, i decided to opt for Alliance Bank Platinum CC to gain access to the KLIA Premier lounge.

However when i went to make my application, i was told that only the first 100 new platinum credit card subscribers (first time applying for CC with Alliance Bank) of the month would be entitled this benefit??

However, the officer I spoke with at Alliance Bank did say it was unlimited access, however it was only valid for the first 100 platinum cc subscribers for the month (must be first time subscribing a CC from Alliance Bank) - and these ppl will enjoy unlimited access to the lounge as many times as they want. How would they monitor the card, i wouldnt know. its not like it will be printed on the card that "hey, this person is eligible for the lounge"... even the officer was unsure of this (after calling countless support personnel...) i think at the end, she was confused herself...

The website however, stated something much different, only the first 150 platinum cc card members from alliance bank would get the free entry, following by 50% and 25%... so... very contradicting points... ><

Alliance Bank keeps changing its policy. About the free access to KLIA Plaza Premium Lounge for Alliance Platinum credit cardholders, it was used to be limited entries per month and then changed to unlimited access. And now, if the website mentions 150 pax per month, then you should trust this official statement in the website. Do not listen to Alliance CS officers as they are not well-versed with their bank products. No offence here.

saint85, first of all Alliance CS is one of the worst you'll ever come across. They know next to nuts (except for one senior chinaman CS, can't remember his name) or maybe they ever never update their system.

As you can see, yeahh and winner also have conflicting confirmation. yeahh's from Plaza Premium Lounge and winner's I guess from Alliance. So who is correct?

Do note yeahh's post on March 22, Plaza Premium Lounge confirmed to him via email that Alliance Platinum Credit Card have unlimited access to KLIA Plaza Premium Lounge.

This is the email I received from Alliance Bank, dated 01-04-11

yah based on email above, you can say that. But also we must look at how many people have Platinum cars over Premium cards and then what is the percentage allocated. However, if you see Plaza Premium Lounge reply to yeahh, it is entirely different from the email that winner received. Total allocated into LCCT is 50 combining both Premium and Platinum.

This was exactly what I thought, as Alliance Premium debit cards are offered to Alliance Privilege Banking customers only. Below is the reply I received from Alliance Bank.

Gen-X, I can ASSURE that my answers are CORRECT. I sent an enquiry to Plaza Premium Lounge via email today and received the official reply from them today too. The answers I received are CONSISTENT with what Alliance Bank emailed me earlier. Please amend the first page immediately to avoid confusion.

Looks that way If I cannot get annual fee waived for my Signature, can downgrade to Plat and still get same offer as Signature, hahaha, And the offer until April 2012 Now must plan to apply for the EON MC Plat before my VS expire. The only thing with the EON Plat MC is that no CS Toll Free line and must swipe 36 times a year which makes it hard to keep track.

very good promotion by EON..just wondering anyone has used travel+plus stated in their promo? if can get cheap flight maybe should try

if i'm not mistaken, it's up to 31 December 2011 only..

btw, the benefit of swiping at least 36 times, is two fold ie for the annual fee waiver and also for the rebates to offset the service tax, at a rate of 1% of amount spend (off course max RM50 lah)...

I saw the first page of the Delightful Delights, it says promotions up to April 2012 so I assume PPL offer up to April But just to clarify, the EON VS CS did tell me up to 31st Dec 2011.

it's on the 3rd page 'Travel', as per link above..

As for the Renewal Bonus, it does not state if it is applicable to Visa Signature, I must go check with CS, if yes, got to go swipe the card more often.

If you have more than one card that allow you free access to the Premium Plaza Lounge, you can use it to bring your friends in too. I've tried before few times and they allowed it.

yeap, that's true, that's why I need more cards for my entire family to enter

And thanks to fauzistt, we all know that EON Bank Plat MC also can enter KLIA, LCCT, Senai and Changi. Best Visa/MC Platinum Card as far as Plaza Premium Lounge is concerned.

card get immediately at the branch. min deposit rm20k, rm12 deduct immediately (card annual fee).

no name embossed on the card.

I thought the minimum deposit is RM50,000? There were afew times when my deposit fell below RM50,000, the bank sent me warning letters and would charge me a monthly penalty of RM25 if I did not top up the deposit.

I guess the card you received is a temporary card. They will issue you a new card with your name embossed on it.

You can try. So far I use cards from different banks. Not sure if it work if from the same bank.

no. mine is alliance platinum debit card for current account.

i just went to alliance and told them i want to open acc to get debit plat card. they said min deposit rm20k.

there is no min balance need to maintain, just rm12 annual fee for the atm (plat debit) card - this is what the bank officer told me.

i think they just gave me 'basic' current accout? coz no bank book and no cheque option.
got the plat card, deposit cash rm30k at counter, wait a while, then got slip (for atm pin number).

when i went to atm to change pin, i checked the balance, rm12 already deducted.

hi guys. havent been checking this thread for quite awhile since i got my AMEX platinum credit card.

didn't realise my confirmation with PPL wasn't as per what she had emailed me. sorry if there's any inconvenience for anyone out there. I'm just here to pass the word to members based on the information i received from PPL.

btw lcct's plaza premium lounge rather sad. the egg sandwich always sourish ... haha. its not THAT sourish. it just doesnt really taste as an egg sandwich would taste? ive been there twice so far. probably go again in another 2 weeks. zzzz
